3Method for the determination of polonium-210 in tea samples using response surface methodology(RSM)显示文摘The method based on solvent parameters(mass,cycle of acidification, and autodeposition time), combined with response surface methodology(RSM) modeling and optimization, has been developed for maximizing ^(210)Po activity in tea samples, as observed by an alpha spectrometer. RSM based on 3-factor and 5-level composite center design was used to obtain the optimal combination of solvent conditions. As solvent parameters for ^(210)Po activity, different masses(0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, and 2 g), different cycles of acidification(2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 times), and different autodeposition times(2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 h) were studied. The 3D response surface plot and the contour plot derived from the mathematical models were used to determine the optimal conditions. According to the obtained results, the experimental value of ^(210)Po activity was in good agreement(R^2=0.96) with the value predicted by the model. 8Real-time,decentralized and bio-inspired topology control for holonomic autonomous vehicles显示文摘Purpose–This paper aims to present an approach for a bio-inspired decentralization topology control mechanism,called force-based genetic algorithm(FGA),where a genetic algorithm(GA)is run by each holonomic autonomous vehicle(HAV)in a mobile ad hoc network(MANET)as software agent to achieve a uniform spread of HAVs and to provide a fully connected network over an unknown geographical terrain.An HAV runs its own FGA to decide its next movement direction and speed based on local neighborhood information,such as obstacles and the number of neighbors,without a centralized control unit or global knowledge.Design/methodology/approach-The objective function used in FGA is inspired by the equilibrium of the molecules in physics where each molecule tries to be in the balanced position to spend minimum energy to maintain its position.In this approach,a virtual force is assumed to be applied by the neighboring HAVs to a given HAV.At equilibrium,the aggregate virtual force applied to an HAV by its neighbors should sum up to zero.If the aggregate virtual force is not zero,it is used as a fitness value for the HAV.The value of this virtual force depends on the number of neighbors within the communication range of Rcom and the distance among them.Each chromosome in our GA-based framework is composed of speed and movement direction.The FGA is independently run by each HAV as a topology control mechanism and only utilizes information from neighbors and local terrain to make movement and speed decisions to converge towards a uniform distribution of HAVs.The authors developed an analytical model,simulation software and several testbeds to study the convergence properties of the FGA.Findings-The paper finds that coverage-centric,bio-inspired,mobile node deployment algorithm ensures effective sensing coverage for each mobile node after initial deployment.The FGA is also an energy-aware self-organization framework since it reduces energy consumption by eliminating unnecessary excessive movements.Fault-tolerance is another important feature of the GA-based approach since the FGA is resilient to losses and malfunctions of HAVs.Furthermore,the analytical results show that the authors’bio-inspired approach is effective in terms of convergence speed and area coverage uniformity.As seen from the experimental results,the FGA delivers promising results for uniform autonomous mobile node distribution over an unknown geographical terrain.Originality/value-The proposed decentralized and bio-inspired approach for autonomous mobile nodes can be used as a real-time topology control mechanism for commercial and military applications since it adapts to local environment rapidly but does not require global network knowledge.Cem Safak Sahin M.Ümit Uyar 2012International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Cybernetics2012,5,3:0

18Autologous omentum transposition for regeneration of a renal injury model in rats显示文摘Background:After renal trauma,surgical treatment is vital,but sometimes there may be loss of function due to fibrosis.This study aimed to evaluate the effect of autologous omentum flaps on injured renal tissues in a rat model.Methods:A total of 30 Wistar albino rats were included and randomly divided equally into a control group and four intervention groups.Iatrogenic renal injuries were repaired using a surgical technique(primary repair 1 group and primary repair 2 group)or transposition of the autologous omentum(omentum repair 1 group and omentum repair 2 group).Blood samples were taken preoperatively and on the 1st and 7th postoperative days in all groups and on the 18th postoperative day in the control and two intervention groups.All rats were sacrificed on the 7th or 18th day postoperatively,and their right kidneys were taken for histopathological evaluation.Results:The mean urea level significantly decreased from day 1 to day 7 and from day 1 to day 18 in the omentum repair 2 group(P=0.005 and P=0.004,respectively).There were no other significant changes in urea or creatinine levels within the intervention groups(P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the urea and creatinine levels and the histological scores(P>0.05).The primary repair 1 and 2 groups had significantly higher median granulation and inflammation scores in the kidney specimen than the control and omentum repair groups(P<0.05).The omentum repair 2 group had significantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(P<0.05).The completion score for the healing process in the kidney specimen was significantly higher in the omentum repair groups than in the primary repair groups(P<0.05).The omentum repair 2 group had significantly lower median granulation and inflammation scores in the surrounding tissues than the primary repair 2 group(P<0.05).Granulation degree in the kidney specimen was strongly and positively correlated with the inflammation degree(r=0.824,P<0.001)and foreign body reaction in the kidney specimen(r=0.872,P<0.001)and a strong and negative correlation with the healing process completion score in the kidney(r=−0.627,P=0.001).Inflammation degree in the kidney specimen was strongly and positively correlated with the foreign body reaction in the kidney specimen(r=0.731,P=0.001)and strongly and negatively correlated with the healing process completion score in the kidney specimen(r=−0.608,P=0.002).Conclusion:Autologous omentum tissue for kidney injury repair attenuated inflammation and granulation.Additionally,the use of omental tissue to facilitate healing of kidney injury may theoretically lead to a more effective healing process and reduced fibrosis and tissue and function loss.Tayfun Bilgiç Ümit Ince Fehmi Narter 2022Military Medical Research2022,9,5:0
19Sorption of uranium(Ⅵ) from aqueous solutions by DEEA organovolcanic: isotherms, kinetic and thermodynamic studies显示文摘The sorption of the uranium(VI) ions from aqueous solutions by diethylethanolammonium organovolcanics(Kula-TURKEY) was investigated under different experimental conditions. DEEA was used to modify the surface of basaltic volcanics. The characteristic of basaltic volcanic was analyzed by XRF, SEM–EDS, FTIR, and XRD. The BET surface areas of unmodified volcanics and DEEA-modified volcanics were found as 2.265 and3.689 m^2/g, respectively. The volcanic samples were treated by using different concentrations of DEEA. The adsorption of U(VI) on natural and modified volcanics was examined as a function of the contact time, initial p H of the solution, initial U(VI) concentration, and temperature.Langmuir, Freundlich, and D–R adsorption isotherms were used to describe the adsorption. While examining the adsorption percentage and distribution coefficient, these values for unmodified volcanics were found to be25% ± 0.76 and 10.08 m L/g, while the values for the DEEA-modified volcanics were 88% ± 1.04 and 220 m L/g, respectively. The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-secondorder kinetic models were used to describe the kinetic data.In this study, it can be seen that the adsorption process is suitable for the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Various thermodynamic parameters(ΔG°, ΔH°, and ΔS°) were calculated with the thermodynamic distribution coefficients obtained at different temperatures. The sorption process was a chemical adsorption process.
