| 1 | Clinical research linking Traditional Chinese Medicine constitution types with diseases:a literature review of 1639 observational studies显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To analyze clinical studies on correlations between Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)body constitution types and diseases published in the past 10 years,and to provide an evidence base to support the use of such correlations for health maintenance and disease prevention.METHODS:We searched five databases for the period April 2009 to December 2019:China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,PubMed and Embase.Three types of observational studies on correlation between constitution types and diseases were included:cross-sectional,case-control and cohort studies.Descriptive statistical methods were employed for data analysis.RESULTS:A total of 1639 clinical studies were identified:1452(88.59%)cross-sectional studies,115(7.02%)case-control studies and 72(4.39%)cohort studies covering 30 regions of China and five other countries(Malaysia,South Korea,Singapore,Thailand and France).The collection of studies comprised 19 disease categories and 333 different diseases.The 10 most commonly studied diseases were hypertension,diabetes,stroke,coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CAHD),sleep disorders,neoplasm of the breast,dysmenorrhea,fatty liver disease,chronic viral hepatitis B and dyslipidemia.We found high distributions for each biased constitution type in different patient populations as follows:Qi-deficiency constitution in stroke,diabetes,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and hypertension;Yang-deficiency constitution in female infertility,osteoporosis,irritable bowel syndrome,gonarthrosis and dysmenorrhea;Yin-deficiency constitution in hypertension,diabetes,constipation,female climacteric states and osteoporosis;phlegm-dampness constitution in hypertension,stroke,fatty liver disease,diabetes and metabolic syndrome;damp-heat constitution in acne,chronic gastritis,chronic viral hepatitis B,human papillomavirus infection and hyperuricemia;blood-stasis constitution in CAHD,endometriosis and stroke;Qi-stagnation constitution in hyperplasia and neoplasms of the breast,insomnia,depression and thyroid nodules;and inherited-special constitution in asthma and allergic rhinitis.CONCLUSION:Eight biased TCM constitutions were closely related to specific diseases,and could be used to guide individualized prevention and treatment.More rigorously designed studies are recommended to further verify the constitution-disease relationship. | Liang Xue Wang Qi Jiang Zeqiang Li Zhuqing Zhang Mengxing Yang Peiying Wang Xin Wang Yanqiu Qin Yuehua Li Tianxing Zhang Tianyi Wang Yi Sun Jianxiang Li Yusi Luo Hui Li Lingru | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4: | 29 |
| 2 | Effect of Panax notoginseng saponins on the expression of beta-amyloid protein in the cortex of the parietal lobe and hippocampus, and spatial learning and memory in a mouse model of senile dementia显示文摘BACKGROUND: The pharmacological actions of Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) lie in removing free radicals, anti-inflammation and anti-oxygenation. It can also improve memory and behavior in rat models of Alzheimer’s disease. OBJECTIVE: Using the Morris water maze, immunohistochemistry, real-time PCR and RT-PCR, this study aimed to measure improvement in spatial learning, memory, expression of amyloid precursor protein (App) and β-amyloid (Aβ), to investigate the mechanism of action of PNS in the treatment of AD in the senescence accelerated mouse-prone 8 (SAMP8) and compare the effects with huperzine A. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A completely randomized grouping design, controlled animal experiment was performed in the Center for Research & Development of New Drugs, Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University from July 2005 to April 2007. MATERIALS: Sixty male SAMP8 mice, aged 3 months, purchased from Tianjin Chinese Traditional Medical University of China, were divided into four groups: PNS high-dosage group, PNS low-dosage group, huperzine A group and control group. PNS was provided by Weihe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (batch No.: Z53021485, Yuxi, Yunan Province, China). Huperzine A was provided by Zhenyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (batch No.: 20040801, Zhejiang, China). METHODS: The high-dosage group and low-dosage group were treated with 93.50 and 23.38 mg/kg PNS respectively per day and the huperzine A group was treated with 0.038 6 mg/kg huperzine A per day, all by intragastric administration, for 8 consecutive weeks. The same volume of double distilled water was given to the control group. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: After drug administration, learning and memory abilities were assessed by place navigation and spatial probe tests. The recording indices consisted of escape latency (time-to-platform), and the percentage of swimming time spent in each quadrant. The number of Aβ1-40, Aβ1-42 and App immunopositive neurons in the brains of SAMP8 mice was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. The mRNA content of App, tau, acetylcholinesterase, and synaptophysin (Syp) was tested by real time PCR and RT-PCR. RESULTS: The PCR results show that PNS can downregulate the expression of the App gene and upregulate the expression of the Syp gene in the parietal cortex and hippocampus of SAMP8 mice. The therapeutic effects of the PNS high-dosage group were greater than those of the PNS low-dosage group and the huperzine A group (P < 0.05). The results of the Morris water maze and immunohistochemistry indicated that PNS can improve the capacity for spatial learning and memory in SAMP8 mice, and reduce the content of Aβ1-40, Aβ1-42 and expression of App in the brains of SAMP8 mice. The therapeutic effects of the PNS high-dosage group were greater than that of the PNS low-dosage group and the huperzine A group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: These results support the hypothesis that PNS plays a therapeutic and protective role on the pathological lesions and learning dysfunction of Alzheimer’s disease. The therapeutic effects of PNS for Alzheimer’s disease are possibly achieved through downregulating the expression of the App gene and upregulating the expression of the Syp gene. | 5 | Effects of Panax notoginseng saponins in a rat model of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘BACKGROUND: Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that Panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) can ameliorate and protect from neuropathological impairment. Whether PNS can improve the abnormality in memory and behavior of rats with Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: Based on a Morris water maze test, this study aimed to measure improvements of spatial learning and memory by PNS in a rat model of AD, and to compare effects with huperzine A. DESIGN: A completely randomized grouping design, controlled animal experiment. SETTING: Center of Research & Development of New Drugs, Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University. MATERIALS: Ninety healthy Wistar rats of both genders, 15-month-old (n =75) and 3-month-old rats as young controls (n =15), were used for this study. The study was performed in accordance with animal ethics guidelines for the use and care of animals. PNS was provided by Weihe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (permission No. Z53021485, Yuxi, Yunan Province, China). Morris water maze equipment was provided by the Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Science. METHODS: This study was performed at the Center of Research & Development of New Drugs, Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University from June 2003 to April 2005. Of the included rats, 15 healthy aged rats were randomly chosen as aged controls, and the remaining 60 aged rats were randomly divided into 4 groups with 15 rats in each: model group, PNS high- and low-dose groups, and an huperzine A group. Rats in the model group and the 3 treated groups were treated with intraperitoneal infusion of 9.6 g/L D-galactose (5 mL/kg) every day for 6 weeks successively to induce a subacute aging model. During week 7, animals received 1 μL ibotenic acid (5 g/L) bilaterally into the nucleus basalis of Meynert to create a rat model of AD. The young and old rat controls received, in parallel, a corresponding volume of saline. Two weeks later, rats in the PNS high- and low-dose groups were gavaged with 200 and 100 mg/kg PNS suspension, respectively. Huperzine A suspension (0.3 mg/kg) was used in the huperzine A group. Rats in the other 3 groups were gavaged with a corresponding volume of normal saline. In each group, administration was carried out once per day for 4 consecutive weeks. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: After administration, learning and memory abilities were measured by place navigation and spatial probe tests. Recording indices consisted of escape latency (time-to-platform), number of times to find the platform within 2 minutes, number of times the animal crosses the original platform location, and the percent of swimming time in each quadrant. RESULTS: Several rats died due to inflammatory reactions following brain lesion or intragastric administration; therefore, 61 rats were included in the final analysis. Results of spatial navigation test: Escape latency of rats in the model group was significantly prolonged, and number of times to find the platform within 2 minutes were significantly reduced compared with other groups (both P < 0.05). No significant differences in these two indices were measured among the administration groups (all P > 0.05). Results of spatial probe test: Times for crossing the original platform location and percent of time spent in the quadrant of original platform location were significantly less in the model group than in the other groups (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in these two indices among the administration groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: PNS can remarkably improve spatial learning and memory abilities of rats with AD. Set a shading ball on the automatic sun tracker,drive linkage parallelogram structure with the declination axis arm,the shading ball can rotate synchronously with the motion of the sun and shade beam radiation measured with pyranometer,thus shading beam radiation and measuring diffuse radiation can be realized automatically. | 7 | Synthesis and characterization of Li_(1.3)Al_(0.3)Ti_(1.7)(PO_4)_3-coated LiMn_2O_4 by wet chemical route显示文摘Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3-coated LiMn2O4 was prepared by wet chemical route. The phase,surface morphology,and electrochemical properties of the prepared powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron micrograph,and galvanostatic charge-discharge experiments. Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3-coated LiMn2O4 has similar X-ray diffraction patterns as LiMn2O4. The corner and border of Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3-coated LiMn2O4 particles are not as clear as the uncoated one. The two powders show similar values of lithiumion diffusion coefficient. When cycled at room temperature and 55°C for 40 times at the charge-discharge rate of 0.2C,Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3-coated LiMn2O4 shows the capacity retentions of 98.2% and 93.9%,respectively,which are considerably higher than the values of 85.4% and 79.1% for the uncoated one. Both the capacity retention differences between Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3-coated LiMn2O4 and LiMn2O4 cycling at room temperature and 55°C become larger with the increase of charge-discharge rate. Cyberphysical systems provide a large volume of big sensory data. Thus, the application of big data for urban emergency decision-making has become a challenge. Traditional decision-making models are unable to overcome several technical problems, including spatio-temporal information support and access to real-time service for disaster management and emergency response. In this paper, we propose a spatio-temporal enabled urban decision-making process modeling method in the cyber-physical environment and discuss the development off our basic metadata components, the definition of eleven-tuple information description structure. A prototype system is designed for modeling registering, management, visualization, and other functions. Decision-making processes are implemented as composite process chains through three phases, i.e., decision-making process modeling,instantiation of the decision-making process chain and execution of the decision-making process chain. | 12 | LiMn_2O_4 thin films derived by rapid thermal annealing and their performance as cathode materials for Li ion battery显示文摘The LiMn2O4 thin film as a cathode material was prepared through solution deposition followed by rapid thermal annealing (RTA). The phase identification and the study of surface morphology were carried out by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Electrochemical properties were examined by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge experiments, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results show that the film prepared by this method is homogeneous, dense, and crack-free. The thin film has a capacity of 38 μAh/(cm2?μm) with the capacity loss of 0.037% per cycle after being cycled for 100 times. | 19 | Detailed sedimentary structure of the Mianning segment of the Anninghe fault zone revealed by H/V spectral ratio显示文摘The Anninghe fault is a major left-lateral strike-slip fault in southwest China and a seismic gap with a potential earthquake larger than MW 7.0 lies in the Mianning-Xichang segment according to recent observations.The shallow structure of this region can offer a glimpse into the geometry of the fault,which plays an important role in earthquake hazard mitigation.To further investigate the sedimentary structure of the Anninghe fault zone,two dense linear arrays with a station spacing of around 80 m were deployed across the fault.In this study,the H/V spectral ratio(HVSR),together with its peak frequency at each station site,was obtained by applying the Nakamura method.Our findings demonstrate that the peak frequency behaves in high correlation with lithology and is controlled by topography.HVSR in foothills or regions with magmatic intrusion shows a single peak at about 2–3 Hz.In locations with abundant Quaternary sedimentation,such as Anninghe valleys and fracture zones,another low-frequency peak around 0.4 Hz can be noticed in HVSR.By using the empirical relationship,the thickness of the sedimentary layer around the fault fracture zone is estimated to be 300–600 m.Furthermore,the sedimentary interface shows a downward dip to the east,possibly influenced by the east-west extrusion stress.Considering the resonance effect,buildings with 6–9 stories in the valley area of the Anninghe require additional attention in earthquake hazard prevention. | Zeqiang Chen Huajian Yao Xihui Shao Song Luo Hongfeng Yang | 2023 | Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,3: | 1 |
