The Human Microbiota in Health and Disease显示文摘Trillions of microbes have evolved with and continue to live on and within human beings. A variety of environmental factors can affect intestinal microbial imbalance, which has a close relationship with human health and disease. Here, we focus on the interactions between the human microbiota and the host in order to provide an overview of the microbial role in basic biological processes and in the development and progression of major human diseases such as infectious diseases, liver diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, metabolic diseases, respiratory diseases, mental or psychological diseases, and autoimmune diseases. We also review important advances in techniques associated with microbial research, such as DNA sequencing, metabonomics, and proteomics combined with computation-based bioinformatics.Current research on the human microbiota has become much more sophisticated and more comprehensive. Therefore, we propose that research should focus on the host-microbe interaction and on causeeffect mechanisms, which could pave the way to an understanding of the role of gut microbiota in health and disease, and provide new therapeutic targets and treatment approaches in clinical practice. | Baohong Wang Mingfei Yao Longxian Lv Zongxin Ling Lanjuan Li | 2017 | Engineering2017,3,1: | 24
Heat-sensitive moxibustion attenuates the inflammation after focal cerebral ischemia/ reperfusion injury显示文摘Heat-sensitive moxibustion has neuroprotective effects against focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, however its mechanism of action remains unclear. In this study, rat models of focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury were treated with suspended moxibustion at acupoint Dazhui (DU14) for 35 minutes. Results showed that suspended moxibustion decreased infarct volume, reduced cortical myeloperoxidase activity, and suppressed serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines in rats with focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Our experimental findings indicated that heat-sensitive moxibustion can attenuate inflammation and promote repair after focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. | Aijiao Xiao Rixin Chen: Mingfei Kang Shenghai Tan | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,33: | 10
Petrogenesis and tectonic implications of early Paleozoic granitoids in East Kunlun belt: Evidences from geochronology, geochemistry and isotopes显示文摘The East Kunlun Orogenic Belt(EKOB) provides an important link to reconstruct the evolution of the Proto-Tethys and Paleo-Tethys realm. The EKOB is marked by widespread Early Paleozoic magmatism. Here we report the petrology, bulk geochemistry, zircon Ue Pb dating and, Lue Hf and SreN d isotopic data of the Early Paleozoic granitic rocks in Zhiyu area of the southern EKOB. Based on the zircon U-Pb dating, these granitoids, consisting of diorite, granodiorite and monzogranite, were formed during 450 -430 Ma the Late Ordovician to Middle Silurian. The diorite and granodiorite are high Sr/Y ratio as adakitic affinities, and the monzogranite belongs to highly fractionated I-type. Their(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)ivalues range from 0.7059 to 0.7085, εNd(t) values from -1.6 to -6.0 and the zircon εHf(t) values show large variations from +9.1 to -8.6 with Hf model ages(T_(DM2)) about 848 Ma and 1970 Ma. The large variations of whole-rock Nd and zircon Hf isotopes demonstrate strong isotopic heterogeneity of the source regions which probably resulted from multi-phase underplating of mantle-derived magmas. Geochemical and isotopic studies proved that the diorite and granodiorite had been derived from partial melting of heterogeneous crustal source with variable contributions from ancient continental crust and juvenile components, and the monzogranites were representing fractional crystallization and crustal contamination for arc magma. The Early Paleozoic adakitic rocks and high-K calc-alkaline granitoids in the southern EKOB were likely emplaced in a continental marginal arc setting possibly linked to the southwards subduction of the Paleo Kunlun Ocean and the magma generation is linked to partial melting of thickened continental crust induced by underplating of mantle-derived magmas. | Guochen Dong Mingfei Luo Xuanxue Mo Zhidan Zhao Liangqiong Dong Xuehui Yu Xin Wang Xiaowei Li Xiongfei Huang Yanbin Liu | 2018 | Geoscience Frontiers2018,9,5: | 10

Advances in efficient electrocatalysts based on layered double hydroxides and their derivatives显示文摘The explore and development of electrocatalysts have gained significant attention due to their indispensable status in energy storage and conversion systems, such as fuel cells, metal–air batteries and solar water splitting cells. Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) and their derivatives(e.g., transition metal alloys, oxides, sulfides, nitrides and phosphides) have been adopted as catalysts for various electrochemical reactions, such as oxygen reduction, oxygen evolution, hydrogen evolution, and CO_2 reduction, which show excellent activity and remarkable durability in electrocatalytic process. In this review, the synthesis strategies, structural characters and electrochemical performances for the LDHs and their derivatives are described. In addition, we also discussed the effect of electronic and geometry structures to their electrocatalytic activity. The further development of high-performance electrocatalysts based on LDHs and their derivatives is covered by both a short summary and future outlook from the viewpoint of the material design and practical application. | Lei Zhou Mingfei Shao Min Wei Xue Duan | 2017 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2017,26,6: | 9
In-situ investigation on the fatigue crack propagation behavior in ferrite-pearlite and dual-phase ferrite-bainite low carbon steels显示文摘The purpose of this study was to describe the roles of microstructure types and grain boundary characteristics in fatigue crack propagation behavior in ferrite-pearlite steel and ferrite-bainite steel. The ferrite-bainite dual-phase steel was obtained by intermediate heat treatment conducted on ferrite-pearlite low carbon steel. This paper presents the results from investigation using constant stress-controlled fatigue tests with in-situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron backscattering diffraction(EBSD) and fatigue fractography analysis.Microscopic images arrested by in-situ SEM showed that the second hard bainite phase distributed in the soft ferrite matrix had a significant effect on preventing the cracks opening compared with pearlite, and that the cracks in ferrite-bainite steel were 'locked' in the second hard bainite phase while the crack propagation path in ferrite-pearlite steel was more tortuous. Moreover, the fatigue fracture surface analysis and the coincidence site lattice(CSL) obtained by EBSD indicated that low-CSL grain boundaries in ferrite-bainite steel distributed more uniformly, which has a more significant effect on the resistance of crack propagation. It was revealed that ferrite-bainite dual-phase microstructures could inhibit the fatigue crack propagation more effectively than ferrite-pearlite microstructures. | GUAN MingFei YU Hao | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,1: | 8
One-step synthesis of Fe-Ni hydroxide nanosheets derived from bimetallic foam for efficient electrocatalytic oxygen evolution and overall water splitting显示文摘The research of superior water oxidation electrodes is essential for the green energy in the form of hydrogen by way of electrolytic water splitting, and still remains challenging. Based upon dealloying foam, Fe-Ni hydroxide nanosheets network structure is designed on the surface of Fe-Ni alloy foam. The ratio of Ni/Fe elements was adjusted to realize the optimal catalytic activities for oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). The obtained electrode of Fe-Ni hydroxide nanosheets/Fe-Ni alloy foam-60% Fe(FN LDH/FNF-60, 60 is the percentage of Fe content) possess low overpotential of 261 mV to reach 10 mA/cm^2, small Tafel slope(85.5 mV/dec), and superior long-term stability(remaining 10 mA/cm^2 for over 14 h without attenuation) toward OER in 1.0 mol/L KOH.Moreover, an alkaline water electrolyzer is constructed with the FN LDH/FNF-60 as anode and Ni(OH)_2/Fe-Ni alloy foam-25% Fe(Ni(OH)_2/FNF-25) as cathode, which displays superior electrolytic performance(affording 10 mA/cm^2 at 1.62 V) and lasting durability. | Lili Zeng Linjing Yang Jia Lu Jin Jia Jiayuan Yu Yunqie Deng Mingfei Shao Weijia Zhou | 2018 | Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,12: | 7
Active stabilization methods of electric power systems with constant power loads:a review显示文摘Modern electric power systems have increased the usage of switching power converters. These tightly regulated switching power converters behave as constant power loads(CPLs).They exhibit a negative incremental impedance in small signal analysis. This negative impedance degrades the stability margin of the interaction between CPLs and their feeders, which is known as the negative impedance instability problem. The feeder can be an LC input filter or an upstream switching converter.Active damping methods are preferred for the stabilization of the system. This is due to their higher power efficiency over passive damping methods.Based on different sources of damping effect, this paper summarizes and classifies existing active damping methods into three categories. The paper further analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of each active damping method. | Mingfei WU Dylan Dah-Chuan LU | 2014 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2014,2,3: | 6
Enhanced glioma-targeting and stability of ~LGICP peptide coupled with stabilized peptide ~DA7R显示文摘Malignant glioma is usually accompanied by vigorous angiogenesis to provide essential nutrients. An effective glioma targeting moiety should include excellent tumor-cell homing ability as well as good neovasculature-targeting efficiency, and should be highly resistant to enzyme degradation in the bloodstream. The phage display-selected heptapeptide, the glioma-initiating cell peptide(GICP), was previously reported as a ligand for the VAV3 protein(a Rho-GTPase guanine nucleotide exchange factor),which is mainly expressed on glioma cells; the stabilized heptapeptide ~DA7R has been shown to be the ligand of both vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2) and neuropilin-1(NRP-1), and has demonstrated good neovasculature-targeting ability. By linking ~DA7R and GICP, a multi-receptor targeting molecule was obtained. The stability of these three peptides was evaluated and their targeting efficiency on tumor-related cells and models was compared. The ability of these peptides to cross the blood–tumor barrier(BTB) was also determined. The results indicate that the coupled Y-shaped peptide ~DA7R–GICP exhibited improved tumor and neovasculature targeting ability and had higher efficiency in crossing the BTB than either individual peptide. | Mingfei Zhang Weiyue Lu | 2018 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2018,8,1: | 5
Structural Changes of Wheat Straw Lignin during Formic Acid Treatment显示文摘The aromatic nature of lignin makes it a potential renewable source of chemicals and other valuable products.Isolation of lignin from lignocellulosic biomass using organic solvents enables the production of high-purity lignin. The use of formic acid in the organosolv pulping and fractionation process has been widely studied.Characterization of lignin is necessary to achieve valueadded applications of lignin. To simplify the isolation of formic acid-treated lignin, herein, milled wheat straw lignin(MWSL) was employed as an archetype for characterization of the structural changes of lignin during formic acid treatment. The results showed that the MWSL was GSH-type(comprising p-hydroxyphenyl(H),guaiacyl(G),and syringyl(S) monolignols) and underwent structural changes during formic acid treatment.Lignin was esterified during the formic acid treatment. The content of alkyl hydroxyl groups in lignin decreased upon formic acid treatment, corresponding to an increase of the number of double bond equivalents(DBE).Lignin units with active reaction sites were liable to slight condensation, which resulted in a moderate increase of the molecular weight. The molecular weight distribution of formic acid-treated MWSL(FMWSL) was wider than that of the MWSL,although the molecular weight of both species did not differ significantly. The β-O-4 linkage in lignin was partially cleaved during formic acid treatment, resulting in the production of new phenolic structures. This improved the solubility of lignin in the cooking liquor and its reactivity for downstream applications. | RuiXue Dong XiuWen Mei Chang Ma MingFei Li YongMing Fan | 2016 | Paper And Biomaterials2016,1,2: | 5
Aerosol-assisted submicronγ-Fe2O3/C spheres as a promising heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst for soil and groundwater remediation:Transport, adsorption and catalytic ability显示文摘This research reports a novel heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst which could freely move through the model sediments and easily seize the pollutants in addition to efficiently catalyze H2O2,well suitable for soil and groundwater remediation.Herein, submicron y-Fe2O3/C spheres were synthesized through a facile one-step aerosol-based process. In a series of column tests, these spheres exhibit better transport ability due to their optimal size, conforming to the prediction by the Tufenkji-Elimelech filtration theo ry.Meanwhile,y-Fe2O3/C spheres could act as a strong adsorbent for organic pollutants owing to the presence of carbon, thereby providing a driving force to gather contaminants into their vicinity and facilitating the reaction. In addition, immobilization of y-Fe2O3 nanoparticles into carbon spheres protects iron oxides from aggregation, and thus retains the number of active sites for catalytic decomposition of H2O2.Hence,the system containing the as-prepared y-Fe2O3/C spheres and H2O2 shows the high removal efficiency and degradation efficiency in the remediation of recalcitrant organic contaminants such as methylene blue and sulfamethoxazole. | Jingjing Zhan Mingfei Li Xiujuan Zhang Yu An Weiqi Sun Aixia Peng Hao Zhou | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,3: | 3
Optimal sizing of PV and battery-based energy storage in an offgrid nanogrid supplying batteries to a battery swapping station显示文摘Nanogrids are expected to play a significant role in managing the ever-increasing distributed renewable energy sources. If an off-grid nanogrid can supply fullycharged batteries to a battery swapping station(BSS)serving regional electric vehicles(EVs), it will help establish a structure for implementing renewable-energyto-vehicle systems. A capacity planning problem is formulated to determine the optimal sizing of photovoltaic(PV) generation and battery-based energy storage system(BESS) in such a nanogrid. The problem is formulated based on the mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)and then solved by a robust optimization approach. Flexible uncertainty sets are employed to adjust the conservativeness of the robust optimization, and Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to compare the performance of the solutions. | 13 | Hierarchical Carbon Microtube@Nanotube Core-Shell Structure for High-Performance Oxygen Electrocatalysis and Zn-Air Battery显示文摘Zinc-air batteries(ZABs)hold tremendous promise for clean and efficient energy storage with the merits of high theoretical energy density and environmental friendliness. However, the performance of practical ZABs is still unsatisfactory because of the inevitably decreased activity of electrocatalysts when assembly into a thick electrode with high mass loading.Herein,we report a hierarchical electrocatalyst based on carbon microtube@nanotube core-shell nanostructure(CMT@CNT),which demonstrates superior electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction with a small potential gap of 0.678 V.Remarkably, when being employed as air-cathode in ZAB,the CMT@CNT presents an excellent performance with a high power density(160.6 mW cm^−2),specific capacity(781.7 mAhgZn^−1)as well as long cycle stability(117 h,351 cycles). Moreover, the ZAB performance of CMT@CNT is maintained well even under high mass loading(3 mg cm−2,three times as much as traditional usage),which could afford high power density and energy density for advanced electronic equipment. We believe that this work is promising for the rational design of hierarchical structured electrocatalysts for advanced metal-air batteries. | Wenfu Xie Jianming Li Yuke Song Shijin Li Jianbo Li Mingfei Shao | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,8: | 3
Improving the mechanical property of dissimilar Al/Mg hybrid friction stir welding joint by PIO-ANN显示文摘Ultrasonic-stationary shoulder assisted friction stir welding(U-SSFSW)is a novel hybrid welding technique, which reveals promising prospect in joining Al/Mg dissimilar alloys.A thorough understanding of U-SSFSW process is imperative for the further application of this technique.Pigeon-inspired optimization(PIO)is a swarm intelligent optimization algorithm and is proposed in mathematical modeling and process optimization by artificial intelligence. In this study,PIO optimized artificial neural network(PIOANN)was firstly established to acquire the relationships between the inputs and output of the Al/Mg welding process by U-SSFSW technique.A reliable PIO-ANN was achieved and the joint with a tensile strength of 161 MPa was acquired under the PIO optimized parameters. This tensile strength is higher than any ever-reported results with the similar welding condition. The joint formation, microstructure, microhardness and fracture behaviors were systemically investigated based on the reported studies and the confirmation experiment of this study to explore the enhancing mechanism of U-SSFSW Al/Mg joint. | Wei Hu Zhongwei Ma Shude Ji Qi Song Mingfei Chen Wenhui Jiang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,18: | 3
Joint Optimal Scheduling for Electric Vehicle Battery Swapping-charging Systems Based on Wind Farms显示文摘Insufficiencies in charging facilities limit the broad application of electric vehicles(EVs).In addition,EV can hardly represent a green option if its electricity primarily depends on fossil energy.Considering these two problems, this paper studies a battery swapping-charging system based on wind farms(hereinafter referred to as W-BSCS).In a W-BSCS,the wind farms not only supply electricity to the power grid but also cooperate with a centralized charge station(CCS),which can centrally charge EV batteries and then distribute them to multiple battery swapping stations(BSSs).The operational framework of the W-BSCS is analyzed, and some preprocessing technologies are developed to reduce complexity in modeling. Then,a joint optimal scheduling model involving a wind power generation plan, battery swapping demand, battery charging and discharging, and a vehicle routing problem(VRP)is established. Then a heuristic method based on the exhaustive search and the Genetic Algorithm is employed to solve the formulated NP-hard problem.Numerical results verify the effectiveness of the joint optimal scheduling model, and they also show that the W-BSCS has great potential to promote EVs and wind power. | Mingfei Ban Jilai Yu Yiyun Yao | 2021 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,3: | 3
Research on TDM approach of sharing BRT-lane supported by vehicle-infrastructure integration显示文摘In order to increase the availability of the part-time idle bus rapid transit lane(BRT-lane),a time division multiplexing(TDM) method to share BRT-lane with the vehicles besides BRT buses is proposed based on vehicle-road collaboration. The TDM control strategy is established under the circumstance of vehicle-infrastructure integration(VII). The algorithm is given to forecast the segmented BRT travel time. According to the real time traffic information,a comprehensive model is given to estimate the vehicles' lane-changing time from/to the BRTlane to/from its neighbor lane and determine the timing sequence for vehicles collaboration. Finally, the experiment demonstrates that the predicted value of the travel time and lane-changing time is much close to the true value. The control strategy of the vehicles collaboration could promise the non-BRT vehicles to share BRT-lane without disturbing BRT's priority. | Dong Hongzhao Ling Yue Liu Dongxu Guo Mingfei | 2013 | Engineering Sciences2013,11,5: | 2

Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control Based on Longitudinal Force Estimation for Electro-mechanical Braking Systems using BLDC Motor显示文摘This paper focuses on the controller design using fuzzy sliding mode control(FSMC)with application to electro-mechanical brake(EMB)systems using BLDC Motor. The EMB controller transmits the control signal to the motor driver to rotate the motor. The torque distribution of motors is studied in this paper actually.Firstly, the model of the EMB system is established. Then the state observer is developed to estimate the vehicle states including the vehicle velocity and longitudinal force.Due to the fact that the EMB system is nonlinear and uncertain,a FSMC strategy based on wheel slip ratio is proposed, where both the normal and emergency braking conditions are taken into account. The equivalent control law of sliding mode controller is designed on the basis of the variation of the front axle and rear axle load during the brake process, while the switching control law is adjusted by the fuzzy corrector. The simulation results illustrate that the FSMC strategy has the superior performance, better adaptability to various types of roads, and shorter braking distance,as compared to PID control and traditional sliding mode control technologies. Finally, the hardware-in-loop(HIL)experimental results have exemplified the validation of the developed methodology. | Xiaoyan Peng Mingfei Jia Lei He Xiang Yu Yibin Lv | 2018 | CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2018,2,1: | 2
