| 2 | Big data assimilation to improve the predictability of COVID-19显示文摘The global outbreak of COVID-19 requires us to accurately predict the spread of disease and decide how adopting corresponding strategies to ensure the sustainable development.Most of the existing infectious disease forecast-ing methods are based on the classical Susceptible-Infectious-Removed(SIR)model.However,due to the highly nonlinearity,nonstationarity,sensitivities to initial values and parameters,SIR type models would produce large deviations in the forecast results.Here,we propose a framework of using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to estimate the model parameters,and then the data assimilation based on the Ensemble Kalman Filter to update model trajectory by cooperating with the real time confirmed cases,so as to improve the predictability of the pan-demic.Based on this framework,we have developed a global COVID-19 real time forecasting system.Moreover,we suggest that big data associated with the spatiotemporally heterogeneous pathological characteristics,and social environment in different countries should be assimilated to further improve the COVID-19 predictability.It is hoped that the accurate prediction of COVID-19 will contribute to the adjustments of prevention and control strategies to contain the pandemic,and help achieve the SDG goal of“Good Health and Well-Being”. | Xin Li Zebin Zhao Feng Liu | 2020 | Geography and Sustainability2020,1,4: | 2 |
| 3 | Image Registration Using a Complete Polar Transform显示文摘Image registration is widely used in image processing. Researchers have introduced image registration techniques based on the log-polar transform for its rotation and scale invariant properties. It suffers from nonuniform sampling which makes the registration results susceptible to interference. To address the problems of traditional log-polar transform, a Complete polar transform(CPT) method is proposed, which samples the image evenly to preserve the whole information of original image.An innovative pro jection transform is applied after CPT to obtain the rotation invariant property. We pre-matched feature points using the Scale invariant feature transform(SIFT)algorithm and re-matched them based on CPT to improve matching speed and accuracy. | 4 | Disposing Status and Control Countermeasures of Pesticide Packaging Wastes in Tobacco Producing Area in Yunnan Province显示文摘Pesticide packaging wastes pose a serious hazard to the agricultural production environment and the quality of agricultural products. The investigation for2 consecutive years in Jietou Region of Tengchong County,a major tobacco planting area in Yunan,showed that:(1) More than 80% of the pesticides purchased by farmers were used for tobacco cultivation,which was 4 times that of conventional crops planting,and most of the packaging materials were plastic bags;(2) The main way for farmers to dispose plastic bags was to burn or discard them in the field garbage collection baskets;(3) In combination with field surveys,an average of 4.54 pieces of pesticide packaging wastes were scattered around every 667 m^2 of tobacco field. In addition,the number reduced significantly after carrying out pesticide packaging wastes recycling and control project at the local smoke station. At the same time,the average number of pesticide packaging wastes in the field collection baskets increased. [Methods]15 leafy vegetables were selected as test materials in this study. This study investigated the biological characteristics of the 15 ornamental vegetables by introduction trial and grey correlation analysis. In addition,we discussed the application of ornamental vegetables in urban agriculture. [Results]The grey correlation values of 11 ornamental vegetables were greater than 0. 6. The grey correlation values of other four ornamental vegetables were less than 0. 5. Among them,the grey correlation of Beta vulgaris L. var. cicla L. was 0. 94,which have the highest appreciation evaluation. The second appreciation evaluation belonged to rainbow leafy Beta vulgaris L. var. cicla L. with grey correlation of 0. 88. | 9 | Coupling and evolution mechanism of infrastructure mega-projects complex ecosystem: Case study on Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge显示文摘Infrastructure mega-projects(IMP), which involve complex interactions and feedback, have more significant impact on economic, social, and other systems.This paper proposes a concept—the IMP complex ecosystem—to analyze IMP from a broad perspective of organic links across engineering, social, economic, and resource environments. Moreover, this paper proposes the theoretical concept, framework, and functions for the IMP complex ecosystem based on complex ecosystem theory.First, the coupling process between IMP complex ecosystem subsystems is analyzed through material flows, energy flows, information flows, and value streams.Second, a logistic model of the IMP complex ecosystem is proposed by analyzing the evolution conditions and motivations. Third, the evolution pattern of the IMP complex ecosystem is determined. Fourth, the positive evolution strategy of the IMP complex ecosystem based on dissipative structure theory and the influencing factors of the evolutionary process is introduced. Finally, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Sousa chinensis are used as the case study.
