1Tailoring properties of hybrid perovskites by domain-width engineering with charged walls显示文摘Charged ferroelectric domain walls are fascinating electrical topological defects that can exhibit unusual properties.Here,in the search for novel phenomena,we perform and analyze first-principles calculations to investigate the effect of domain width on properties of domains with charged walls in the photovoltaic material consisting of methylammonium lead iodide hybrid perovskite.We report that such domains are stable and have rather low domain wall energy for any investigated width(that is,up to 13 lattice constants).Increasing the domain width first linearly decreases the electronic band gap from≃1.4 eV to about zero(which therefore provides an efficient band-gap engineering),before the system undergoes an insulator-to-metal transition and then remains metallic(with both the tail-to-tail and head-to-head domain walls being conductive)for the largest widths.All these results can be understood in terms of:(i)components of polarization along the normal of the domain walls being small in magnitude;(ii)an internal electric field that is basically independent of the domain width;and(iii)rather negligible charge transfer between walls.These findings deepen the knowledge of charged ferroelectric domain walls and can further broaden their potential for applications,particularly in the context of halide perovskites for photovoltaics.Lan Chen Charles Paillard Hong Jian Zhao JorgeÍñiguez Yurong Yang Laurent Bellaiche 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:2
2Mechanical properties and finite element analysis of walnut under different cracking parts显示文摘In order to reduce mechanical damage and improve extraction quality of walnut kernel during walnut cracking,the Wen-185 walnut cultivar was selected as the research object,and the mechanical properties of walnut under different cracking parts were assessed by combining compression tests and finite element analysis(FEA)method.The compression test results showed that the relationships between rupture force and deformation of walnut were nonlinear,and the cracking process of shell mainly consisted of three stages(elastic stage,plastic stage and composite elastic-plastic stage).The best method to crack walnut was the spherical compression,and the peak value of rupture force and corresponding deformation were 211.83 N and 1.68 mm,respectively.In condition of spherical compression,the shell-breaking rate,first-grade kernel rate and whole kernel rate were(91.67±2.89)%,(88.33±2.89)%,(80.00±5.00)%,respectively.The FEA results indicated that spherical compression was also the suitable way to rupture walnut,which resulted in the obvious propagation trends of shell cracks and further a better integrity of extracting walnut kernel.Therefore,the spherical contact form between walnut and cracking parts may be considered to design the structural shape of key components of walnut cracking machines,which was consistent with the analysis of compression test results.The comparison between experiment results and FEA results showed that the established FEA model can be used to analyze the mechanical properties of walnut.The research results can provide references for the structural design and optimization of key components of cracking machines for walnut or other nut crops.Hong Zhang Liuyang Shen Haipeng Lan Yong Li Yang Liu Yurong Tang Wen Li 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:2
3Electrochemical sensing of ATP with synthetic cyclophane as recognition element显示文摘A new electrochemical sensor for ATP with synthetic cyclophane stably attached onto single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) as the recognition elements is described. UV-vis and cyclic voltammetric results demonstrate that ATP may interact with the synthetic cyclophane recognition elements to form a stable adduct mainly through electrostatic, π-π stacking and donor-acceptor interactions. Such interactions eventually lead to a decrease in the peak currents of the cyclophane recognition elements attached onto the SWNT electronic transducer, which could be used for electrochemical sensing of ATP. Under the conditions employed here, the ratio of the decrease in the anodic peak current is linear with ATP concentration within a concentration range from 10 to 120 μM with a linear coefficiency of 0.993. 10Effects of cobalt doping on the reactivity of hausmannite for As(Ⅲ)oxidation and As(Ⅴ)adsorption显示文摘Hausmannite is a common low valence Mn oxide mineral,with a distorted spinel structure,in surficial sediments.Although natural Mn oxides often contain various impurities of transitional metals(TMs),few studies have addressed the effect and related mechanism of TM doping on the reactivity of hausmannite with metal pollutants.Here,the reactivity of cobalt(Co)doped hausmannite with aqueous As(Ⅲ)and As(Ⅴ)was studied.Co doping decreased the point of zero charge of hausmannite and its adsorption capacity for As(Ⅴ).Despite a reduction of the initial As(Ⅲ)oxidation rate,Co-doped hausmannite could effectively oxidize As(Ⅲ)to As(Ⅴ),followed by the adsorption and fixation of a large amount of As(Ⅴ)on the mineral surface.Arsenic K-edge EXAFS analysis of the samples after As(Ⅴ)adsorption and As(Ⅲ)oxidation revealed that only As(Ⅴ)was adsorbed on the mineral surface,with an average As-Mn distance of 3.25–3.30 A,indicating the formation of bidentate binuclear complexes.These results provide new insights into the interaction mechanism between TMs and low valence Mn oxides and their effect on the geochemical behaviors of metal pollutants.Shuang Zhang Hui Li Zhongkuan Wu Jeffrey EPost Bruno Lanson Yurong Liu Biyun Hu Mingxia Wang Limei Zhang Mei Hong Fan Liu Hui Yin 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12:0
11Model for estimating the weight-loss ratio of damaged Korla fragrant pears显示文摘To predict the weight-loss ratio of Korla fragrant pears effectively,improve commodity value and study the variation laws of the weight-loss ratio of damaged fragrant pears during storage,this study predicted the weight-loss ratio of fragrant pears by utilizing the generalized regression neural network(GRNN),support vector regression(SVR),partial least squares regression(PLSR)and error back propagation neural network(BPNN).The prediction performances of GRNN,SVR,PLSR and BPNN models were compared comprehensively,and the optimal model was determined.In addition,the optimal prediction model was verified.The results show that weight-loss ratio of fragrant pears increases gradually with the extension of storage time.During storage,the weight-loss ratio of fragrant pears is positively related to the degree of damage.The trained GRNN,SVR,PLSR and BPNN models can be used to predict the weight-loss ratio of fragrant pears.The BPNN model is the most accurate in predicting the weight-loss ratio of damaged fragrant pears(R^(2)=0.9929;RMSE=0.2138).It has also been proved to have good predictive effect in production practice(R^(2)=0.9377,RMSE=0.7138).The research findings can provide references to predict the delivery quality and time of delivery of Korla fragrant pears.Yang Liu Yurong Tang Hong Zhang Hao Niu Haipeng Lan 2024International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2024,17,1:0
12Insights into simultaneous adsorption and oxidation of antimonite[Sb(III)]by crawfish shell-derived biochar:spectroscopic investigation and theoretical calculations显示文摘Removal of antimonite[Sb(Ⅲ)]from the aquatic environment and reducing its biotoxicity is urgently needed to safeguard environmental and human health.Herein,crawfish shell-derived biochars(CSB),pyrolyzed at 350,500,and 650℃,were used to remediate Sb(Ⅲ)in aqueous solutions.The adsorption data best fitted to the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm models.Biochar produced at 350℃(CSB350)showed the highest adsorption capacity(27.7 mg g^(−1)),and the maximum 78%oxidative conversion of Sb(Ⅲ)to Sb(V).The adsorption results complemented with infrared(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron(XPS),and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure(NEXAFS)spectroscopy analyses indicated that the adsorption of Sb(Ⅲ)on CSB involved electrostatic interaction,surface complexation with oxygen-containing functional groups(C=O,O=C-O),π-πcoordination with aromatic C=C and C-H groups,and H-bonding with-OH group.Density functional theory calculations verified that surface complexation was the most dominant adsorption mechanism,whilstπ-πcoordination and H-bonding played a secondary role.Furthermore,electron spin resonance(ESR)and mediated electrochemical reduction/oxidation(MER/MEO)analyses confirmed that Sb(Ⅲ)oxidation at the biochar surface was governed by persistent free radicals(PFRs)(•O_(2)^(−)and•OH)and the electron donating/accepting capacity(EDC/EAC)of biochar.The abundance of preferable surface functional groups,high concentration of PFRs,and high EDC conferred CSB350 the property of an optimal adsorbent/oxidant for Sb(Ⅲ)removal from water.The encouraging results of this study call for future trials to apply suitable biochar for removing Sb(Ⅲ)from wastewater at pilot scale and optimize the process.Hanbo Chen Yurong Gao Jianhong Li Chenghua Sun Binoy Sarkar Amit Bhatnagar Nanthi Bolan Xing Yang Jun Meng Zhongzhen Liu Hong Hou Jonathan WCWong Deyi Hou Wenfu Chen Hailong Wang 2022Biochar2022,4,1:0
13Construction method of quantitative evaluation model for the maturity of Korla fragrant pear显示文摘The maturity variation laws of Korla fragrant pears were explored for a quantitative evaluation of harvest maturity to solve the reasonable matching between harvest maturity of Korla fragrant pears and market quality demands.Korla fragrant pears from different harvesting periods were chosen as the research objects.Some quality indexes were chosen as the evaluation indexes per industry standards,including hardness,soluble solid content(SSC),single-fruit weight,fruit longitudinal diameter,fruit equatorial diameter,pericarp color parameters(L*,a*,and b*),and titratable acid.Variation data of these quality indexes with accumulated temperature were collected.Scores of several quality indexes were gained through principal component analysis.A mathematical model of scores and accumulated temperatures was constructed.On this basis,a quantitative maturity model of Korla fragrant pears was constructed.Results demonstrate that SSC,single-fruit weight,fruit longitudinal diameter,fruit equatorial diameter,L*,a*,and b*are significantly and positively correlated with the accumulated temperature.Meanwhile,hardness and titratable acid showed significant negative correlations with the accumulated temperature.Relations between scores of principal components and accumulated temperature conform to the Sigmoidal model.The constructed quantitative maturity model of Korla fragrant pears can quantify the maturity of pears.Research conclusions can provide insight into the harvest periods,evaluate Korla fragrant pears’maturity,and lay a theoretical foundation for quantitative research on fruit maturity.Shihui Yu Yurong Tang Haipeng Lan Xiaolong Li Hong Zhang Yong Zeng Hao Niu Xiaozhen Jin Yang Liu 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,4:0
14RNA sequencing-based optimization of biological lipid droplets for sonodynamic therapy to reverse tumor hypoxia and elicit robust immune response显示文摘Mitochondria-targeted sonodynamic therapy(SDT)is a promising strategy to inhibit tumor growth and activate the anti-tumor immune responses.Identifying the mechanisms underlying mitochondria-targeted SDT,further optimizing its efficacy,developing novel sonosensitizer carriers with good biocompatibility pose major challenges to the clinical practice of SDT.In this study,we investigated the mechanisms of mitochondria-targeted SDT and demonstrated that it suppressed the mitochondrial electron transport chain(ETC)in pancreatic cancer cells through RNA-sequencing analysis.Based on these findings,we constructed the functional lipid droplets(LDs)(CPI-613/IR780@LDs),which combined mitochondria-targeted SDT with the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle inhibitor CPI-613.CPI-613/IR780@LDs synergistically inhibited the TCA cycle and the ETC of mitochondrial aerobic respiration to reduce oxygen consumption and increase reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation at the tumor site,thus enhancing the efficacy of SDT in hypoxic pancreatic cancer.Moreover,the combination of mitochondria-targeted SDT and anti-PD-1 antibody exhibited excellent tumor inhibition and activated anti-tumor immune responses by increasing tumorinfiltrating CD8+T cells and reducing regulatory T cells,synergistically arresting the growth of both primary and metastatic pancreatic tumors.Meanwhile,lipid droplets are cell-derived biological carriers with natural mitochondrial targeting ability and can achieve efficient hydrophobic drug loading through active phagocytosis.Therefore,the functional lipid droplet-based SDT combined with anti-PD-1 antibody holds great potential in the clinical treatment of hypoxic pancreatic cancer.Zhan Shi Xue Wang Jiali Luo Yiqing Zeng Qing Wen Yurong Hong Tao Zhang Pintong Huang 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
15Comprehensive evaluation of Korla fragrant pears and optimization of plucking time during the harvest period显示文摘To optimize the harvest of Korla fragrant pears and to provide a theoretical basis for post-harvest processing,a total of 26 basic indices of Korla fragrant pears,including their morphology,quality,and softening age,were investigated.The harvest period ranged from August 22nd to October 6th,samples were collected every 5 d(totally 10 plucking days,indicated as H1-H10).The results indicated that changes in pectin content were the main causes of softening in fragrant pears.The scavenging of free radicals mainly occurred because of the collaborative effects of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT).In the harvest periods H1-H3,the hardness,titratable acid(TA),chlorophyll content,density,and diameter of the stone cells,as well as the cellulose and hemicellulose content of the Korla fragrant pears were at their highest.During the periods H7-H10,the single-fruit weight,fruit horizontal and vertical diameter,color coordinates L,a*,b*,soluble-solids content(SSC),SOD activity,CAT activity,and water-soluble pectin were higher than in the other plucking periods.The highest vitamin C(VC)content and moderate values for a variety of indicators were observed during H3-H7.Variations in the Korla fragrant pears during H1-H3 mainly manifested through changes in softening-related parameters.During H3-H10,changes in the softening-related,aging-related,color-related,and quality indices had a dominant role.On this basis,some suggestions for the post-harvest processing of fragrant pears have been proposed.Fruit,during H1-H3,are suitable for transportation and storage;during H7-H10 are suitable for fresh-eating and further processing;and during H3-H7,exhibited moderate values for a variety of indicators and had the highest commercial value.This research provides a systematic evaluation of the characteristics of mature Korla fragrant pears during the harvest period and can form the basis for fruit quality control and processing of Korla fragrant pears.Zhentao Wang Yurong Tang Xiaozhen Jin Yang Liu Hong Zhang Hao Niu Haipeng Lan 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,3:0
16Non-destructive detection of the fruit firmness of Korla fragrant pear based on electrical properties显示文摘In order to achieve the non-destructive detection of the firmness of Korla fragrant pear during the ripening period,the characteristic variables integrating the parallel equivalent inductance(Lp),quality factor(Q),parallel equivalent capacitance(Cp),dissipation factor(D),parallel equivalent resistance(Rp)and impedance(Z)were formulated through principal component analysis(PCA).Further,based on the characteristic variables,the models were established for predicting the firmness of Korla fragrant pear by using the generalized regression neural network(GRNN)and back-propagation neural network(BPNN).The results showed that firmness has significant correlations with the six electrical parameters.The first two principal components(PCs)were selected as the characteristic variables of the electrical parameters.GRNN exhibited the best performance in predicting firmness(R2=0.9628,RMSE=0.383).The results could provide important references for non-destructive detection of the quality of Korla fragrant pear.Hong Zhang Yang Liu Yurong Tang Haipeng Lan Hao Niu Hong Zhang 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:0
