1Crystal structures of D-psicose 3-epimerase from Clostridium cellulolyticum H10 and its complex with ketohexose sugars显示文摘D-Psicose 3-epimerase(DPEase)is demonstrated to be useful in the bioproduction of D-psicose,a rare hexose sugar,from D-fructose,found plenty in nature.Clostridium cellulolyticum H10 has recently been identified as a DPEase that can epimerize D-fructose to yield D-psicose with a much higher conversion rate when compared with the conventionally used DTEase.In this study,the crystal structure of the C.cellulolyticum DPEase was determined.The enzyme assembles into a tetramer and each subunit shows a(β/α)8 TIM barrel fold with a Mn2+metal ion in the active site.Additional crystal structures of the enzyme in complex with substrates/products(D-psicose,D-fructose,D-tagatose and D-sorbose)were also determined.From the complex structures of C.cellulolyticum DPEase with D-psicose and D-fructose,the enzyme has much more interactions with D-psicose than D-fructose by forming more hydrogen bonds between the substrate and the active site residues.Accordingly,based on these ketohexosebound complex structures,a C3-O3 proton-exchange mechanism for the conversion between D-psicose and D-fructose is proposed here.These results provide a clear idea for the deprotonation/protonation roles of E150 and E244 in catalysis.Hsiu-Chien Chan Yueming Zhu Yumei Hu Tzu-Ping Ko Chun-Hsiang Huang Feifei Ren Chun-Chi Chen Yanhe Ma Rey-Ting Guo Yuanxia Sun 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,2:6

4Defect detection in atomic-resolution images via unsupervised learning with translational invariance显示文摘Crystallographic defects can now be routinely imaged at atomic resolution with aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM)at high speed,with the potential for vast volumes of data to be acquired in relatively short times or through autonomous experiments that can continue over very long periods.Automatic detection and classification of defects in the STEM images are needed in order to handle the data in an efficient way.However,like many other tasks related to object detection and identification in artificial intelligence,it is challenging to detect and identify defects from STEM images.Furthermore,it is difficult to deal with crystal structures that have many atoms and low symmetries.Previous methods used for defect detection and classification were based on supervised learning,which requires human-labeled data.In this work,we develop an approach for defect detection with unsupervised machine learning based on a one-class support vector machine(OCSVM).We introduce two schemes of image segmentation and data preprocessing,both of which involve taking the Patterson function of each segment as inputs.We demonstrate that this method can be applied to various defects,such as point and line defects in 2D materials and twin boundaries in 3D nanocrystals.Yueming Guo Sergei V.Kalinin Hui Cai Kai Xiao Sergiy Krylyuk Albert V.Davydov Qianying Guo Andrew R.Lupini 2021npj Computational Materials2021,,1:2
5An Alternative-Service Recommending Algorithm Based on Semantic Similarity显示文摘With the development of the Internet of Things(Io T), people's lives have become increasingly convenient. It is desirable for smart home(SH) systems to integrate and leverage the enormous information available from IoT. Information can be analyzed to learn user intentions and automatically provide the appropriate services. However, existing service recommendation models typically do not consider the services that are unavailable in a user's living environment. In order to address this problem, we propose a series of semantic models for SH devices. These semantic models can be used to infer user intentions. Based on the models, we proposed a service recommendation probability model and an alternative-service recommending algorithm. The algorithm is devoted to providing appropriate alternative services when the desired service is unavailable. The algorithm has been implemented and achieves accuracy higher than traditional Hidden Markov Model(HMM). 10Mathematical modeling of induction heating of discard substitution block for billet hot extrusion process显示文摘A magnetic and temperature field-coupled mathematical model is proposed to calculate the induction heating process of a discard substitution block for billet hot extrusion process. The mathematical model is validated by comparing simulation results with temperature measurements recorded during physical modeling. 12Effects of phytonutrients on growth performance, antioxidative status,and energy utilization of broilers fed low energy diets显示文摘Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of phytonutrients(PN)on growth performance.antioxidant status,intestinal morphology,and nutrient utilization of birds fed low energy diets.In Exp.1.a total of 1.440 one-day-old Ross 308 male broiler chickens were randomly divided into 3 treatment groups,with 16 replicates per treatment(48 pens;30 birds per pen).Birds in treatment 1 were fed diets with normal energy content(NE).Birds in treatment 2 were fed NE diet but with 60 kcal removed(LE).Birds in treatment 3 were assigned to LE diet supplemented with PN(LE + PN).Results indicated that LE diet increased feed conversion ratio(FCR)compared with NE from d 1 to 38.while LE + PN diet prevented this response(P= 0.02).At d 26.birds in the LE + PN group had the highest ileal and jejunal villus height to crypt depth(VH:CD)ratio.At d 39.PN supplementation improved ileal and jejunal VH:CD ratio,compared with LE group.Moreover,birds fed PN diets received a better economic profit,In Exp.2,360 one-day-old Ross 308 male broiler chickens were used in a metabolism study.The treatments used in Exp.2 were the same as those in Exp.1,with 4 replicates(pens)and 30 birds in each replicate.Dietary apparent metabolism energy(AME),energy and protein digestibility were determined between 21 and 28 d of age.Results showed that chickens fed LE + PN diet tended to have greater AME(P= 0.02)and nictrogen-corrected apparent metabolism energy(AMEn)(P= 0.03)than birds fed LE diets.It was concluded that LE+ PN showed a potential advantage to improve feed conversion and gut health of broilers,as well as economic profits.Lei Yan Sha An Zunzhou Lv Zhengguo Wang Yueming Wu Yutao Zhu Min Zhao Chunhua Sun Mingbin Lv Zhengpeng Zhu Yuming Guo 2019Animal Nutrition2019,,3:1

14Optically-generated focused ultrasound for noninvasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision显示文摘High precision neuromodulation is a powerful tool to decipher neurocircuits and treat neurological diseases.Current non-invasive neuromodulation methods offer limited precision at the milimeter level.Here,we report opticallygenerated focused ultrasound(OFUS)for non-invasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision.OFUS is generated by a soft optoacoustic pad(SOAP)fabricated through embedding candle soot nanoparticles in a curved polydimethylsiloxane film.SOAP generates a transcranial ultrasound focus at 15 MHz with an ultrahigh lateral resolution of 83μm,which is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of conventional transcranial-focused ultrasound(tFUS).Here,we show effective OFUS neurostimulation in vitro with a single ultrasound cycle.We demonstrate submillimeter transcranial stimulation of the mouse motor cortex in vivo.An acoustic energy of 0.6 mJ/cm?,four orders of magnitude less than that of tFUS,is suffcient for successful OFUS neurostimulation.OFUS offers new capabilities for neuroscience studies and disease treatments by delivering a focus with ultrahigh precision noninvasively.Yueming Li Ying Jiang Lu Lan Xiaowei Ge Ran Cheng Yuewei Zhan Guo Chen Linli Shi Runyu Wang Nan Zheng Chen Yang Ji-Xin Cheng 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,11:1

16Monitoring behavior of poultry based on RFID radio frequency network显示文摘Poultry behavior monitoring is an important basis for the poultry disease warning.Manual monitoring is mostly used nowadays.In this work,the automatic monitoring system for assisting manual monitoring was examined.Sophisticated data mining techniques were used to leverage the data collected by RFID devices.Specifically,(1)weighing sensors and wireless networks of Multiple RFID-tag-collector groups were used to monitor the poultry behavior;(2)RFID tags were putted on individual poultry so that the moving time of the poultry between two RFID-tag-collectors could be recorded.Thus,the characteristic functions of poultry behaviors such as speed,ability to snatch food and resting time could be extracted based on the distance between two RFID-tag-collectors and the relevant time parameters;(3)the sick,normal,active and other poultry groups were categorized by using the K-means method which utilizing the behavior characteristics and poultry weight data in data mining.The results demonstrated that accurate classifications could be obtained according to the poultry characteristics,and the clustering results matched with the results obtained by manual method to identify the poultry groups.Consequently,the technique in this paper has great potential for large-scale poultry disease warning and poultry classification.Zhang Feiyang Hu Yueming Chen Liancheng Guo Lihong Duan Wenjie Wang Lu 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,6:1

18Study on the Electrical Conductivity of 0.025 mol NaCl Solution at 0.25-3.75 GPa and 20-370℃显示文摘The electrical conductance of 0.025 mol NaCl solution was measured at0.25-3.75 GPa and 20-370℃. As shown by the results, the conductance increases with temper-ature, and there is a liner relation between the reciprocal of temperature and the logarithm ofthe conductance but their slopes are different at different pressures. The relations between theconductance and pressure is rather complex and there are some discontinuities: in the range of2.25-3.75 GPa, the conductance increases with the pressure; in the range of 1.25-2.0 GPa, theconductance is not related to the pressure; and at a pressure of 0.75 GPa, the conductance ishigher than that at the pressures nearby. 19Anisotropic phononic crystal structure with low-frequency bandgap and heat flux manipulation显示文摘This study presents a two-dimensional phononic crystal with heat flux manipulation and wide bandgaps of out-of-plane modes within the low-frequency range. The anisotropic matrix made of spiral-multilayered materials with different thermal conductivities, and the coating layer inserted with metal are designed for heat flux manipulation. Rubber-coated metal cylinders are periodically embedded in the anisotropic matrix to obtain the low-frequency bandgaps of out-of-plane modes. Numerical simulation is carried out to validate the heat and elastic characteristics of the spiral-multilayered anisotropic structure and reveal the effects of the laying angle and temperature on the bandgaps. Subsequently, a spiral-multilayered plate with periodic structures is studied, which shows an obvious vibration attenuation in the frequency ranges of the bandgaps and a deflected heat flux from the initial propagation direction. In the experimental investigation, the multi-phase spiral-multilayered anisotropic plate is simplified to a single-phase anisotropic plate made of aluminum.
