1Influences of external heat transfer and Thomson effect on the performance of TEG-TEC combined thermoelectric device显示文摘A thermodynamic model of a thermoelectric generator(TEG)-driven thermoelectric cooler(TEC) device considering Thomson effect and external heat transfer(HT) is established based on the combination of non-equilibrium and finite time thermodynamic theories. The expressions of cooling capacity and coefficient of performance(COP) are obtained. Performances are compared with and without considering Thomson effect using numerical optimization method. The influences of Thomson effect on the optimal performances, optimum allocations of thermoelectric(TE) element number and HT surface area are discussed. The results indicate that Thomson effect decreases the maximum cooling capacity and COP. More TE elements should be allocated to TEG, and more HT area should be allocated to the heat exchanger(HEX) of TEG, the hot-side HEX of TEG and the cold-side HEX of TEC in the design of the device considering Thomson effect. 2Design of heat exchanger network based on entransy theory显示文摘The heat exchanger network(HEN) synthesis problem based on entransy theory is analyzed. According to the characteristics of entransy representation of thermal potential energy, the entransy dissipation represents the irreversibility of the heat transfer process, the temperature difference determines the entransy dissipation, and four HEN design steps based on entransy theory are put forward. The present study shows how it is possible to set energy targets based on entransy and achieve them with a network of heat exchangers by an example of heat exchanger network design for four streams. In order to verify the correctness of the heat exchanger networks design method based on entransy theory, the synthesis of the HEN for the diesel hydrogenation unit is studied. Using the heat exchange networks design method based on entransy theory, the HEN obtained is consistent with energy targets. 3A novel method based on entransy theory for setting energy targets of heat exchanger network显示文摘A T-Q diagram based on entransy theory is applied to graphically and quantitatively describe the irreversibility of the heat transfer processes.The hot and cold composite curves can be obtained in the T-Q diagram.The entransy recovery and entransy dissipation that are affected by temperature differences can be obtained through the shaded area under the composite curves.The method for setting the energy target of the HENs in T-Q diagram based on entransy theory is proposed.A case study of the diesel oil hydrogenation unit is used to illustrate the application of the method.The results show that three different heat transfer temperature differences is 10 K,15 K and 20 K,and the entransy recovery is 5.498×10~7k W·K,5.377×10~7k W·K,5.257×10~7k W·K,respectively.And the entransy transfer efficiency is 92.29%,91.63%,90.99%.Thus,the energy-saving potential of the HENs is obtained by setting the energy target based on the entransy transfer efficiency.Li Xia Yuanli Feng Xiaoyan Sun Shuguang Xiang 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,8:5
4Patient-derived non-small cell lung cancer xenograft mirrors complex tumor heterogeneity显示文摘Objective:Patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models have shown great promise in preclinical and translational applications,but their consistency with primary tumors in phenotypic,genetic,and pharmacodynamic heterogeneity has not been well-studied.This study aimed to establish a PDX repository for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and to further elucidate whether it could preserve the heterogeneity within and between tumors in patients.Methods:A total of 75 surgically resected NSCLC specimens were implanted into immunodeficient NOD/SCID mice.Based on the successful establishment of the NSCLC PDX model,we compared the expressions of vimentin,Ki67,EGFR,and PD-L1 proteins between cancer tissues and PDX models using hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemical staining.In addition,we detected whole gene expression profiling between primary tumors and PDX generations.We also performed whole exome sequencing(WES)analysis in 17 first generation xenografts to further assess whether PDXs retained the patient heterogeneities.Finally,paclitaxel,cisplatin,doxorubicin,atezolizumab,afatininb,and AZD4547 were used to evaluate the responses of PDX models to the standard-of-care agents.Results:A large collection of serially transplantable PDX models for NSCLC were successfully developed.The histology and pathological immunohistochemistry of PDX xenografts were consistent with the patients’tumor samples.WES and RNA-seq further confirmed that PDX accurately replicated the molecular heterogeneities of primary tumors.Similar to clinical patients,PDX models responded differentially to the standard-of-care treatment,including chemo-,targeted-and immuno-therapeutics.Conclusions:Our established PDX models of NSCLC faithfully reproduced the molecular,histopathological,and therapeutic characteristics,as well as the corresponding tumor heterogeneities,which provides a clinically relevant platform for drug screening,biomarker discovery,and translational research.Xuanming Chen Cheng Shen Zhe Wei Rui Zhang Yongsheng Wang Lili Jiang Ke Chen Shuang Qiu Yuanli Zhang Ting Zhang Bin Chen Yanjun Xu Qiyi Feng Jinxing Huang Zhihui Zhong Hongxia Li Guowei Che Kai Xiao 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:5
5Development and validation of a novel nomogram to predict aneurysm rupture in patients with multiple intracranial aneurysms:a multicentre retrospective study显示文摘Background and purpose Approximately 15%–45%of patients with unruptured intracranial aneurysms have multiple intracranial aneurysms(MIAs).Determining which one is most likely to rupture is extremely important for treatment decision making for MIAs patients.This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram to evaluate the per-aneurysm rupture risk of MIAs patients.Methods A total of 1671 IAs from 700 patients with MIAs were randomly dichotomised into derivation and validation sets.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to select predictors and construct a nomogram model for aneurysm rupture risk assessment in the derivation set.The discriminative accuracy,calibration performance and clinical usefulness of this nomogram were assessed.We also developed a multivariate model for a subgroup of 158 subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)patients and compared its performance with the nomogram model.Results Multivariate analyses identified seven variables that were significantly associated with IA rupture(history of SAH,alcohol consumption,female sex,aspect ratio>1.5,posterior circulation,irregular shape and bifurcation location).The clinical and morphological-based MIAs(CMB-MIAs)nomogram model showed good calibration and discrimination(derivation set:area under the curve(AUC)=0.740 validation set:AUC=0.772).Decision curve analysis demonstrated that the nomogram was clinically useful.Compared with the nomogram model,the AUC of multivariate model developed from SAH patients had lower value of 0.730.Conclusions This CMB-MIAs nomogram for MIAs rupture risk is the first to be developed and validated in a large multi-institutional cohort.This nomogram could be used in decision-making and risk stratification in MIAs patients.Xin Feng Xin Tong Fei Peng Hao Niu Peng Qi Jun Lu Yang Zhao Weitao Jin Zhongxue Wu Yuanli Zhao Aihua Liu Daming Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3:2
6Comparison of the Pipeline embolisation device alone or combined with coiling for treatment of different sizes of intracranial aneurysms显示文摘Objectives The aim of this study was to compare complications and outcomes between intracranial aneurysms treated with the Pipeline embolisation device(PED)alone or with PED combined with coiling for different-sized aneurysms.Method Patients with aneurysms treated by PED were collected from the PED in China postmarket multicentre registry study.We performed a propensity match analysis to compare the efficacy and safety between PED alone and PED combined with coiling treatment,and then aneurysms were organised into three groups based on their size:small(≤7 mm),medium(≤15 mm to>7 mm)and large/giant(>15 mm).Complications and aneurysm occlusion rates in the aneurysm size groups were compared between PED alone and PED combined with coiling patients.Result A total of 1171 patients with 1322 aneurysms were included.All patients received clinical follow-up,while angiographic follow-up was available in 967 aneurysms.For small aneurysms,there was no difference in the aneurysm occlusion rate between two groups(79.1%vs 88.4%,respectively),while there was a significant increase in the ischaemic complication rate(8.3%vs 19.3%,respectively,p=0.0001).For medium and large/giant saccular aneurysms,PED combined with coiling significantly improved the occlusion rate(medium aneurysms:74.7%vs 88.8%,respectively,p<0.0001;large/giant saccular aneurysms:72.9%vs 86.9%,respectively,p=0.018),while there were no differences in the total complication rate.For large/giant non-saccular aneurysms,two groups showed no differences.Conclusion Use of the PED with adjunctive coils can significantly improve the occlusion rate of medium aneurysms,without increasing the total complication rate.Chao Wang Bin Luo Tianxiao Li Aisha Maimaitili Guohua Mao Donglei Song Yunyan Wang Wenfeng Feng Yang Wang Huaizhang Shi Jieqing Wan Jianmin Liu Sheng Guan Yuanli Zhao Hongqi Zhang 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4:1
7Epipelagic mesozooplankton communities in the northeastern Indian Ocean off Myanmar during the winter monsoon显示文摘The northern Andaman Sea off Myanmar is one of the relatively high productive regions in the Indian Ocean.The abundance,biomass and species composition of mesozooplankton and their relationships with environmental variables in the epipelagic zone(~200 m)were studied for the first time during the Sino-Myanmar joint cruise(February 2020).The mean abundance and biomass of mesozooplankton were(1916.7±1192.9)ind./m3and(17.8±7.9)mg/m3,respectively.A total of 213 species(taxa)were identified from all samples.The omnivorous Cyclopoida Oncaea venusta and Oithona spp.were the top two dominant taxa.Three mesozooplankton communities were determined via cluster analysis:the open ocean in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal(Group A),the transition zone across the Preparis Channel(Group B),and nearshore water off the Ayeyarwady Delta and along the Tanintharyi Coast(Group C).Variation partitioning analysis revealed that the interaction of physical and biological factors explained 98.8%of mesozooplankton community spatial variation,and redundancy analysis revealed that column mean chlorophyll a concentration(CMCHLA)was the most important explanatory variable(43.1%).The abundance and biomass were significantly higher in Group C,the same as CMCHLA and column mean temperature(CMT)and in contrast to salinity,and CMT was the dominant factor.Significant taxon spatial variations were controlled by CMCHLA,salinity and temperature.This study suggested that mesozooplankton spatial variation was mainly regulated by physical processes through their effects on CMCHLA.The physical processes were simultaneously affected by heat loss differences,freshwater influx,eddies and depth.Ping Du Dingyong Zeng Feilong Lin Sanda Naing Zhibing Jiang Jingjing Zhang Di Tian Qinghe Liu Yuanli Zhu Soe Moe Lwin Wenqi Ye Chenggang Liu Lu Shou Feng Zhou 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,6:0
