1Effects of Activin A on the Activities of the Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages显示文摘Activin A is a kind of pre-inflammatory factor that belongs to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily. To investigate the effect and mechanism of activin A on the activities of mouse macrophages, the secretion of NO in the supernatant of cultured mouse peritoneal macrophages was examined by NO assay kit, and the expression of iNOS, ActRIIA and ARIP2 mRNA in mouse peritoneal macrophages was analyzed by RT-PCR.The results showed that activin A stimulated the secretion of NO and the expression of iNOS mRNA in non-activated mouse macrophages in a time- and dose-dependent manner. In contrast, activin A in the same concentration inhibited the secretion of NO in LPS-activated mouse macrophages in a dose-dependent manner.ActRIIA was highly expressed on macrophages, and activin A upregulated the ActRIIA mRNA expression in macrophages. 2Genome-wide Analysis of Plant-specific Dof Transcription Factor Family in Tomato显示文摘The Dof (DNA binding with One Finger) family encoding single zinc finger proteins has been known as a family of plant-specific transcription factors. These transcription factors are involved in a variety of functions of importance for different biological processes in plants. In the current study, we identified 34 Dof family genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), distributed on 11 chromosomes. A complete overview of SlDof genes in tomato is presented, including the gene structures, chromosome locations, phylogeny, protein motifs and evolution pattern. Phylogenetic analysis of 34 SlDof proteins resulted in four classes constituting six clusters. In addition, a comparative analysis between these genes in tomato, Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L.) was also performed. The tomato Dof family expansion has been dated to recent duplication events, and segmental duplication is predominant for the SlDof genes. Furthermore, the SlDof genes displayed differential expression either in their transcript abundance or in their expression patterns under normal growth conditions. This is the first step towards genome-wide analyses of the Dof genes in tomato. 4Factors Influencing Runoff P Losses from Farmlands of the Dianchi Lake Watershed in Yunnan, China显示文摘Effects of factors such as slope,surface soil texture,fertilization and crop cover with different rainfall intensities on phosphorus (P) losses in farmland runoff of the Dianchi Lake Watershed in Yunnan Province of China were studied through a rainfall simulation test using a red soil,one of the most widely distributed soils of the study area. Results showed that the runoff concentrations of total phosphorus (TP) and P losses differed with the slope,being highest when the slope was 18°. At two different rainfall intensities,the runoff TP and P losses had a similar decreasing trend as the surface soil texture became coarser,therefore applying the grit would decrease P in runoff from soils of farmland on slopes with heavier textures. With wheat as a crop cover the runoff TP concentrations and P losses were significantly lower than those of the bare soil. This showed that plant cover would greatly decrease P in runoff from the farmland of the study area. The TP concentration in runoff from the soil two days after fertilization doubled when compared with that from the non-fertilized soil,indicating that fertilization could mean a dramatic rise in P runoff if irrigation or heavy rainfall occurred immediately after application and that no fertilization before a rain and no irrigation immediately after fertilization would reduce runoff P loss from the farmland of the study area.ZHANGNai-Ming YUYang,HONGBo CHENJian-Jun ZHANGYu-Juan 2004Pedosphere2004,14,2:16

6Alendronate loaded graphene oxide functionalized collagen sponge for the dual effects of osteogenesis and anti-osteoclastogenesis in osteoporotic rats显示文摘Graphene Oxide(GO)-related hydrogels have been extensively studied in hard tissue repair,because GO can not only enhance the mechanical properties of polymers but also promote osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells.However,simple GO-related hydrogels are not ideal for the repair of osteoporotic bone defects as the overactive osteoclasts in osteoporosis.Alendronate(Aln)is known to inhibit osteoclasts and may bind to GO through covalent connection.Therefore,delivering Aln in GO-related hydrogels may be effective to repair osteoporotic bone defects.Here,we developed a control-released system which is constructed by collagen(Col)-GO sponges loaded with Aln(Col-GO-Aln)for osteoporotic bone defect repair.In vitro,Col-GO-Aln sponges prolonged the release period of Aln,and the sponge containing 0.05%(w/v)GO released Aln faster than sponge with 0.2%GO.Furthermore,tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)and F-actin staining demonstrated that Col-GO-Aln sponges effectively inhibited osteoclastogenesis of monocyte-macrophages.In vivo,micro-CT scan showed that the volume of newborn bone in defect site by 0.05%GO sponge was nearly three times larger than that of other groups.Moreover,the CT and histological examinations of rat femur proved that Col-GO-Aln sponges decreased the number of osteoclasts and suppressed the systemic bone loss in osteoporotic rats.These findings reveal that the application of GO as carriers of anti-osteoporosis drugs is a viable treatment for osteoporosis.The results also underscore the potential of GO-related hydrogels with Aln-releasing capacity for bone regeneration in osteoporosis.Yuyang Zeng Muran Zhou Lifeng Chen Huimin Fang Shaokai Liu Chuchao Zhou Jiaming Sun Zhenxing Wang 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:10
7Pancreatic cancer with a high serum IgG4 concentration显示文摘Differentiation between autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer is sometimes difficult. It has been reported that serum IgG4 concentrations are significantly elevated and particularly high (>135 mg/dL) in autoimmune pancreatitis. Measurement of serum IgG4 has become a useful tool for differentiating between autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. However, we present a 74-year-old female with a markedly elevated serum IgG4 (433 mg/dL) who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic cancer. Elevated serum IgG4 levels continued after the resection. On histology, adenocarcinoma of the pancreas accompanied with moderate lymphoplasmacytic infiltration infiltrated the lower bile duct and duodenum, but there were no findings of autoimmune pancreatitis. Although a small metastasis was detected in one parapancreatic lymph node, regional lymph nodes were swollen. Abundant IgG4-positive plasma cells infiltrated the cancerous areas of the pancreas, but only a few IgG4-positive plasma cells were detected in the noncancerous areas. Pancreatic cancer cells were not immunoreactive for IgG4. An abundant infiltration of IgG4-positive plasma cells was detected in the swollen regional lymph nodes and in the duodenal mucosa. 8Flexible and Waterproof 2D/1D/0D Construction of MXene-Based Nanocomposites for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption,EMI Shielding,and Photothermal Conversion显示文摘High-performance electromagnetic wave absorption and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials with multifunctional characters have attracted extensive scientific and technological interest,but they remain a huge challenge.Here,we reported an electrostatic assembly approach for fabricating 2D/1D/0D construction of Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/carbon nanotubes/Co nanoparticles(Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/CNTs/Co)nanocomposites with an excellent electromagnetic wave absorption,EMI shielding efficiency,flexibility,hydrophobicity,and photother-mal conversion performance.As expected,a strong reflection loss of-85.8 dB and an ultrathin thickness of 1.4 mm were achieved.Mean-while,the high EMI shielding efficiency reached 110.1 dB.The excel-lent electromagnetic wave absorption and shielding performances were originated from the charge carriers,electric/magnetic dipole polariza-tion,interfacial polarization,natural resonance,and multiple internal reflections.Moreover,a thin layer of polydimethylsiloxane rendered the hydrophilic hierarchical Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/CNTs/Co hydrophobic,which can prevent the degradation/oxidation of the MXene in high humidity condition.Interestingly,the Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/CNTs/Co film exhibited a remark-able photothermal conversion performance with high thermal cycle stability and tenability.Thus,the multifunctional Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/CNTs/Co nanocomposites possessing a unique blend of outstanding electromagnetic wave absorption and EMI shielding,light-driven heating perfor-mance,and flexible water-resistant features were highly promising for the next-generation intelligent electromagnetic attenuation system.Zhen Xiang Yuyang Shi Xiaojie Zhu Lei Cai Wei Lu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,10:9
9Neuroprotective effects of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells against cerebral ischemia are mediated in part by an anti-apoptotic mechanism显示文摘Transplantation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs) stands as a potent stroke therapy, but its exact mechanism remains unknown. This study investigated the anti-apoptotic mechanisms by which hMSCs exert neuroprotective effects on cerebral ischemia. Primary mixed cultures of rat neurons and astrocytes were cultured and exposed to oxygen-glucose deprivation. A two-hour period of 'reperfusion' in standard medium and normoxic conditions was allowed and immediately followed by hMSCs and/or Bcl-2 antibody treatment. Cell viability of primary rat neurons and astrocytes was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthianol-2-yl)-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide and trypan blue exclusion methods. hMSC survival and differentiation were characterized by immunocytochemistry, while the concentration of Bcl-2 in the supernatant was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to reveal the secretory anti-apoptotic function of hMSCs. Cultured hMSCs expressed embryonic-like stem cell phenotypic markers CXCR4, Oct4, SSEA4, and Nanog, as well as immature neural phenotypic marker Nestin. Primary rat neurons and astrocytes were protected from oxygen-glucose deprivation by hMSCs, which was antagonized by the Bcl-2 antibody. However, Bcl-2 levels in the supernatants did not differ between hMSCand non-treated cells exposed to oxygen-glucose deprivation. Neuroprotective effects of hMSCs against cerebral ischemia were partially mediated by the anti-apoptotic mechanisms. 10Designing N-doped graphene/ReSe_(2)/Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene heterostructure frameworks as promising anodes for high-rate potassium-ion batteries显示文摘Developing high-performance anodes for potassium ion batteries(KIBs) is of paramount significance but remains challenging.In the normal sense,electrode materials are prepared by ubiquitous wet chemical routes,which otherwise might not be versatile enough to create desired heterostructures and/or form clean interfacial areas for fast transport of K-ions and electrons.Along this line,rate capability/cycling stability of resulting KIBs are greatly handicapped.Herein we present an all-chemical vapor deposition approach to harness the direct synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene(NG)/rhenium diselenide(ReSe_2)hybrids over three-dimensional MXene supports as superior heterostructure anode material for KIBs.In such an innovative design,1 T'-ReSe2 nanoparticles are sandwiched in between the NG coatings and MXene frameworks via strong interfacial interactions,thereby affording facile K~+ diffusion,enhancing overall conductivity,boosting high-power performance and reinforcing structural stability of electrodes.Thus-constructed anode delivers an excellent rate performance of 138 mAh g^(-1) at 10.0 A g^(-1) and a high reversible capacity of 90 mAh g^(-1) at 5 A g^(-1) after 300 cycles.Furthermore,the potassium storage mechanism has been systematically probed by advanced in situlex situ characterization techniques in combination with first principles computations.Zhou Xia Xiwen Chen Haina Cia Zhaodi Fan Yuyang Yi Wanjian Yin Nan Wei Jingsheng Cai Yanfeng Zhang Jingyu Sun 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:9

12Malignancies associated with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the pancreas显示文摘AIM: As intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN)has a favorable prognosis, associated malignancies have potential significance in these patients. We examined the incidence and characteristics of pre-existing, coexisting and subsequent malignancies in patients with IPMN. METHODS: Seventy-nine cases of IPMN were diagnosed by detection of mucous in the pancreatic duct during endoscopic retrograde pancreatography. Histological diagnosis was confirmed in 30 cases (adenoma (n = 19)and adenocarcinoma (n = 11). Other primary malignancies associated with IPMN, occurring in the prediagnostic or postdiagnostic period, were investigated. Postdiagnostic follow-up period was 3.3±0.5 years (range, 0.2-20 years).RESULTS: Other 40 malignancies occurred in 28 patients (35%). They were found before (n = 15), at (n = 19) and after (n = 6) the diagnosis of IPMT. Major associated malignancies were gastric cancer (n = 12), colonic cancer (n = 7), esophageal cancer (n = 4), pulmonary cancer (n = 4), and independent pancreatic cancer (n = 3).Pancreatic cancer was synchronous with IPMN in two patients and metachronous in one (3 years after diagnosis of IPMN). Thirty-one lesions were treated surgically or endoscopically. Fourteen patients died of associated cancers. Development of other malignancies was related to age (71.9±8.2 vs66.8±9.3, P<0.05), but not to gender or site of the tumor.CONCLUSION: IPMN is associated with a high incidence of other malignancies, particularly gastric and colonic cancers. Common genetic mechanisms between IPMN and other associated malignancies might be present. 13The morphotectonics and its evolutionary dynamics of the central Southwest Indian Ridge (49° to 51°E)显示文摘The morphotectonic features and their evolution of the central Southwest Indian Ridge(SWIR)are discussed on the base of the high-resolution full-coverage bathymetric data on the ridge between 49°–51°E.A comparative analysis of the topographic features of the axial and flank area indicates that the axial topography is alternated by the ridge and trough with en echelon pattern and evolved under a spatial-temporal migration especially in 49°–50.17°E.It is probably due to the undulation at the top of the mantle asthenosphere,which is propagating with the mantle flow.From 50.17°to 50.7°E,is a topographical high terrain with a crust much thicker than the global average of the oceanic crust thickness.Its origin should be independent of the spreading mechanism of ultra-slow spreading ridges.The large numbers of volcanoes in this area indicate robust magmatic activity and may be related to the Crozet hot spot according to RMBA(residual mantle Bouguer anomaly).The different geomorphological feature between the north and south flanks of the ridge indicates an asymmetric spreading,and leading to the development of the OCC(oceanic core complex).The tectonic activity of the south frank is stronger than the north and is favorable to develop the OCC.The first found active hydrothermal vent in the SWIR at 37°47′S,49°39′E is thought to be associated with the detachment fault related to the OCC.LIANG Yuyang LI Jiabiao LI Shoujun RUAN Aiguo NI Jianyu YU Zhiteng ZHU Lei 2013Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,12:7
14NiPS_(3)quantum sheets modified nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon with boosted bifunctional oxygen electrocatalytic performance显示文摘Electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions(ORR)and oxygen evolution reactions(OER)are highly crucial and challenging toward the energy storage and conversion technologies such as fuel cells,metal-air batteries and water electrolysis.To replace noble-metal based catalysts and boost catalytic performance of carbon-based materials,we initially develop the nickel,phospho rus,sulfur and nitrogen co-modified mesoporous carbon(NiPS_(3)@NMC)as a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst.The perfo rmance for ORR(half-wave potential at 0.90 V)and OER(10 mA cm^(-2)at 1.48 V)surpasses those of Pt/C coupled with IrO_(2)catalysts and most of the non-precious metal based bifunctional electrocatalysts reported in related literature.Moreover,the electrochemical durability is also confirmed by accelerated durability tests(ADTs)and long-term chronoamperometry(CA)tests.We demonstrated that the interfacial effect between NiPS_(3)quantum sheets(QS s)and NMC substrates by thermal activation contributed to the enhanced oxygen electrode bifunctionality with more active sites,due to the electrons-donating from nickel,phosphorus and sulfur elements and relatively enriched pyridinic type N.Such excellent overall performance highlights the potential application of NiPS3 QSs and NMC composites as the materials on energy conversion and storage.Kai Huang Yuyang Xu Yanpeng Song Ruyue Wanga Hehe Wei Yuanzheng Long Ming Lei Haolin Tang Jiangang Guo Hui Wu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,6:7
15The effects of four transplantation methods on five coral species at the Sanya Bay显示文摘Coral transplantation is considered as one of the major tools to increase coral abundance for degraded coral reefs.To investigate the effects of various methods and coral species in transplantation, coral fragments(n=902) of five coral species were transplanted by four methods at Luhuitou, the Sanya Bay, Hainan Province, China, where the reef has been over-exploited and is still threatened by human activities and natural disasters. Ten months after the transplant, the average survivorship of the transplanted corals was 45.5%. Methodologies had different effects on the transplanted corals, but none of them was efficacious for all coral species. Methodology could not change the decreasing trend for Montipora foliosa and Acropora hyacinthus, although it did slow down their decline. All transplants of A. hyacinthus and M. foliosa had high mortalities and significant decrease on survival area, while Porites andrewsi and Galaxea fascicularis had lower mortalities and partial mortalities. Only one method had significant effect on increasing survival area of G. fascicularis, same as P. andrewsi. Out of the five transplanted coral species, Pocillopora damicornis was the only species that had living tissue area increase in all applied methods, while the others had decreased live tissue area in one or more methods. The results of this study suggested that performing coral transplantation in a highly threatened area was not efficient unless the threats were diminished or erased. Moreover, proper species selection for coral transplantation is crucial, especially in a disturbed environment. Methodology, although having limited effects on improving results of coral transplantation, cannot compensate the maladjustment of vulnerable species to the stresses on the Luhuitou Reef. 16Repair of left ventricular aneurysm during off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery显示文摘Background Acute myocardial infarction can result in left ventricular aneurysm, which may in turn cause congestive heart failure, ventricular arrhythmia and thromboembolic events. This study evaluates results achieved with a modified linear closure of left ventricular aneurysms during off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery. Methods From January 2001 to May 2004, 75 patients were operated on for nonruptured, postinfarctional, left ventricular aneurysm during off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery. Repair was completed on the beating heart to minimize ischaemia and allow assessment of wall function and viability to guide closure. All patients presented with symptoms of angina and congestive heart failure or ventricular arrhythmia. The majority (75%) of the patients were in NYHA functional class Ⅲ or Ⅳ. Preoperative ejection fraction was 26%±9%. The mean left ventricular, end diastolic diameter was (57.5±7.1) mm. The ventricular preoperative and postoperative performances were compared. χ 2 test and Student’s t test were used to analyse the outcomes. A P value less than 0.05 was considered significant.Results Hospital mortality was 1.3% (1/75). Coronary artery bypass was performed with an average of (3.3±1.2) grafts per patient. At the time of followup, all the patients had no symptoms. The mean NYHA class and ejection fraction increased significantly ( P <0.001). The mean left ventricular, end diastolic diameter decreased significantly ( P <0.001). Conclusions Surgical closure of left ventricular aneurysm can be performed during off-pump coronary artery bypass. The operation is associated with a low inhospital mortality and morbidity. 17Redox condition during Ediacaran–Cambrian transition in the Lower Yangtze deep water basin, South China: constraints from iron speciation and δ^(13) Corg in the Diben section, Zhejiang显示文摘Cherts of the Piyuancun Formation and black mudstones of the Hetang Formation in Diben Town, Kaihua County, Zhejiang were deposited in a deep water basin of the Lower Yangtze area during the Ediacaran–Cambrian transition(E–C transition), offering an opportunity to reconstruct the ancient redox condition of the deep water basin. Total 53 samples were collected and analyzed for iron speciation, including pyrite iron(FePy), carbonate associated iron(FeCarb), iron oxide and hydroxide(FeOx),magnetite iron(FeMag) and total iron(FeT) as well as d13 Corgto gain a deeper understanding of specific redox condition during the period. The results show that(1) most samples have pyrite concentration \1 %, with the FePy/FeHR ratio ranging from \0.01 to 0.81(mostly \0.5), and the FeHR/FeT ratio between 0.39 and 0.93(mostly [0.5).(2) The E–C boundary in the Diben section occurred at the maximum negative excursion of organic carbon isotope within the Piyuancun Formation, which can be correlated with other sections by using d13 Corg. We thus concluded that the relatively high content of highly reactive iron and low content of pyrite iron in the Diben section indicate a minor occurrence of H2 S and a predominance of anoxic and ferruginous environment, which is similar to other reported sections such as the Longbizui and Yanwutan sections, western Hunan. In addition, oxygen concentration in sea water showed an increasing trend in the interval corresponding to the bottom and upper layer of the Hetang Formation as indicated by the FeHR/FeT ratio, which decreased from 0.7 to 0.38, however, it was not great enough to oxidize the whole deep water. Therefore, during the E–C transition deep water basin in South China was most likely an anoxic and ferruginous enrironment, which prevented metazoon from the evolution in the deep water basin. 18Simultaneous recovery of carbon and sulfur resources from reduction of CO_2 with H_2S using catalysts显示文摘An approach to the simultaneous reclamation of carbon and sulfur resources from CO_2 and H_2S has been proposed and effectively implemented with the aid of catalysts. A brief thermodynamic study reveals the potential of direct reduction of CO_2 with H_2S(15:15 mol% balanced with N_2) for selective production of CO and elemental sulfur. The experiments carried out in a fixed-bed flow reactor over the temperature range of 400–800 °C give evidence of the importance of the employment of catalysts. Both the conversions of the reactants and the selectivities of the target products can be substantially promoted over most catalysts studied. Nevertheless, little difference appears among their catalytic performance. The results also prove that the presence of CO_2 can remarkably enhance H_2S conversion and the sulfur yield in comparison with H_2S direct decomposition. A longtime reaction test on Mg O catalyst manifests its superior durability at high temperature(700 °C) and huge gas hourly space velocity(100,000 h-1). 19Brominated dioxins and furans in a cement kiln co-processing municipal solid waste显示文摘A field study and theoretical calculations were performed to clarify the levels, profiles, and distributions of polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PBDD/Fs) in a cement kiln co-processing solid waste, with a focus on the PBDF formation mechanism.The raw materials contributed greatly to input of PBDD/Fs into the cement kiln. The PBDD/F concentrations in the raw materials were much higher than those in particle samples from different process stages in the cement kiln. The PBDD/F concentrations in the clinkers were1.40% of the concentrations in the raw materials, which indicated that the high destruction efficiencies for PBDD/Fs by cement kiln. PBDD/F distribution patterns in particle samples collected from different process stages indicated the cement kiln backend was a major site for PBDD/F formation. PBDFs with high levels of halogenation, such as heptabrominated furans(Hp BDF), were the dominant contributors to the total PBDD/F concentrations and accounted for 42%–73% of the total PBDD/F concentrations in the particle samples. Our results showed that co-processing of municipal solid waste in a cement kiln may influence the congener profile of PBDD/Fs, especially for the higher halogenated PBDD fraction. In addition, there were significant correlations between the decabromodiphenyl ether and heptabrominated furan concentrations, which is an indicator of transformation from polybrominated diphenyl ethers to PBDD/Fs. Theoretical calculations were performed and demonstrated that elimination of HBr and Br_2 from polybrominated diphenyl ethers were the dominant formation pathways for PBDD/Fs.
