2Development of a Haploid-Inducer Mediated Genome Editing System for Accelerating Maize Breeding显示文摘Crop breeding aims to generate pure in bred lines with multiple desired traits. Doubled haploid (DH) and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 are two powerful game-changing technologies in crop breeding. However, both of them still fall short for rapid generation of pure elite lines with integrated favorable traits. Here, we report the development of a Haploid-Inducer Mediated Genome Editing (IMGE) approach, which utilizes a maize haploid inducer line carrying a CRISPR/Cas9 cassette targeting for a desired agronomic trait to pollinate an elite maize in bred line and to generate genome-edited haploids in the elite maize background. Homozygous pure DH lines with the desired trait improvement could be generated within two generations, thus bypassing the lengthy procedure of repeated crossing and backcrossing used in conventional breeding for integrating a desirable trait into elite commercial backgrounds.Baobao Wang Lei Zhu Binbin Zhao Yongping Zhao Yurong Xie Zhigang Zheng Yaoyao Li Juan Sun Haiyang Wang 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,4:32
3Virtual reality training improves balance function显示文摘Virtual reality is a new technology that simulates a three-dimensional virtual world on a computer and enables the generation of visual, audio, and haptic feedback for the full immersion of users. Users can interact with and observe objects in three-dimensional visual space without limitation. At present, virtual reality training has been widely used in rehabilitation therapy for balance dysfunction. This paper summarizes related articles and other articles suggesting that virtual reality training can improve balance dysfunction in patients after neurological diseases. When patients perform virtual reality training, the prefrontal, parietal cortical areas and other motor cortical networks are activated. These activations may be involved in the reconstruction of neurons in the cerebral cortex. Growing evidence from clinical studies reveals that virtual reality training improves the neurological function of patients with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and other neurological impairments. These findings suggest that virtual reality training can activate the cerebral cortex and improve the spatial orientation capacity of patients, thus facilitating the cortex to control balance and increase motion function.Yurong Mao Peiming Chen Le Li Dongfeng Huang 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,17:20
4Network platform for remote structural testing and shared use of laboratories显示文摘This paper presents a network platform developed for remote testing of scaled model or prototype structures and structural elements. The network platform, NetSLab, was developed based on the client/server concept along with a proposed data model and the communication protocols. The platform is capable of transferring the control and feedback data as well as signals among remotely located structural testing laboratories or computers connected by Internet. Several concepts were introduced to develop the platform and to provide relatively easy and friendly interface for applications and further enhancement. Trial and actual tests were successfully carried out at the Hunan University, China and the University of Southern California, USA. Models simulating bridge piers and piles or building substructures were subjected to recorded earthquake ground motions, and the tests were controlled remotely over the Internet using the platform.XIAO Yan HU Qing GUO Yurong ZHU Pingsheng YI Weijian 2005Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2005,15,12:18
5Effect of Dark Septate Endophytic Fungus Gaeumannomyces cylindrosporus on Plant Growth, Photosynthesis and Pb Tolerance of Maize (Zea mays L.)显示文摘Dark septate endophytic(DSE) fungi are ubiquitous and cosmopolitan, and occur widely in association with plants in heavy metal stress environment. However, little is known about the effect of inoculation with DSE fungi on the host plant under heavy metal stress. In this study, Gaeumannomyces cylindrosporus, which was isolated from Pb-Zn mine tailings in China and had been proven to have high Pb tolerance, was inoculated onto the roots of maize(Zea mays L.) seedlings to study the effect of DSE on plant growth, photosynthesis, and the translocation and accumulation of Pb in plant under stress of different Pb concentrations. The growth indicators(height, basal diameter, root length, and biomass) of maize were detected. Chlorophyll content, photosynthetic characteristics(net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and intercellular CO_2 concentration), and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters in leaves of the inoculated and non-inoculated maize were also determined. Inoculation with G. cylindrosporus significantly increased height, basal diameter, root length, and biomass of maize seedlings under Pb stress. Colonization of G. cylindrosporus improved the efficiency of photosynthesis and altered the translocation and accumulation of Pb in the plants. Although inoculation with G. cylindrosporus increased Pb accumulation in host plants in comparison to non-inoculated plants, the translocation factor of Pb in plant body was significantly decreased. The results indicated that Pb was accumulated mainly in the root system of maize and the phytotoxicity of Pb to the aerial part of the plant was alleviated. The improvement of efficiency of photosynthesis and the decrease of translocation factor of Pb, caused by DSE fungal colonization, were efficient strategies to improve Pb tolerance of host plants.BAN Yihui XU Zhouying YANG Yurong ZHANG Haihan CHEN Hui TANG Ming 2017Pedosphere2017,27,2:16
6Mechanism of Kinect-based virtual reality training for motor functional recovery of upper limbs after subacute stroke显示文摘The Kinect-based virtual reality system for the Xbox 360 enables users to control and interact with the game console without the need to touch a game controller, and provides rehabilitation training for stroke patients with lower limb dysfunctions. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study,18 healthy subjects and five patients after subacute stroke were included. The five patients were scanned using functional MRI prior to training,3 weeks after training and at a12-week follow-up,and then compared with healthy subjects. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment and Wolf Motor Function Test scores of the hemiplegic upper limbs of stroke patients were significantly increased 3 weeks after training and at the 12-week follow-up.Functional MRI results showed that contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex was activated after Kinect-based virtual reality training in the stroke patients compared with the healthy subjects.Contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex, the bilateral supplementary motor area and the ipsilateral cerebellum were also activated during hand-clenching in all 18 healthy subjects. Our findings indicate that Kinect-based virtual reality training could promote the recovery of upper limb motor function in subacute stroke patients, and brain reorganization by Kinect-based virtual reality training may be linked to the contralateral sensorimotor cortex.Xiao Bao Yurong Mao Qiang Lin Yunhai Qiu Shaozhen Chen Le Li Ryan S.Cates Shufeng Zhou Dongfeng Huang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,31:15
7Clinical analysis of intracranial germinoma's craniospinal irradiation using helical tomotherapy显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the short-term clinical outcomes of intracranial germinoma patients treated with craniospinal irradiation(CSI) using helical tomotherapy(HT) system in our center. Methods: Twenty-three patients who were treated with CSI in our center from January 2008 to July 2012 were collected, with an average age of 20. All of the patients' CSI used the HT system. The total doses were 27-36 Gy/15-20 F(1.5-2 Gy per fraction), and total local doses were 46-60 Gy/30-50 F(5 fractions per week). All female patients for CSI were treated with left-right parallel-opposed field irradiation to protect their ovarian functions. Median follow-up time was 30.9 months(range, 5-67 months). The SPSS19.0 software was used, and the overall survival(OS) was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: Among 17 patients with assessable tumors, 9 cases(52.9%) were CR, 7 cases(41.2%) were PR, and 1 case(5.9%) was SD. Hematological toxicity was the severest side-effect occurred in the procedure of CSI. The level 1-4 acute leukopenia were 8.7%, 30.4%, 34.8% and 21.7% and the level 1-4 acute thrombopenia were 8.7%, 30.4%, 21.7% and 8.7%, respectively. Conclusions: For primary intracranial germinomas, HT can be used to implement CSI for simplifying radiotherapy procedures, improving radiotherapy accuracy, enhancing protection of peripheral organs at risk(ORA) and guaranteeing therapeutic effects. With the acceptable acute and long-term toxicity, CSI using HT in intracranial germinoma patients can be a safe and alternative mode.Baolin Qu Lei Du Yurong Huang Wei Yu Boning Cai Shouping Xu Lin Ma 2014Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,3:14

9Finite-Time Neural Funnel Control for Motor Servo Systems with Unknown Input Constraint显示文摘In this paper, a finite-time neural funnel control(FTNFC) scheme is proposed for motor servo systems with unknown input constraint. To deal with the non-smooth input saturation constraint problem, a smooth non-affine function of the control input signal is employed to approximate the saturation constraint, which is further transformed into an affine form according to the mean-value theorem. A fast terminal sliding mode manifold is constructed by using a novel funnel error variable to force the tracking error falling into a prescribe boundary within a finite time. Then, a simple sigmoid neural network is utilized to approximate the unknown system nonlinearity including the saturation.Different from the prescribed performance control(PPC), the proposed finite-time neural funnel control avoids using the inverse transformed function in the controller design, and could guarantee the prescribed tracking performance without knowing the saturation bounds in prior. The effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed method are verified by comparative simulation results.CHEN Qiang TANG Xiaoqing NAN Yurong REN Xuemei 2017Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2017,30,3:9
10FINITE-TIME TRACKING CONTROL FOR MOTOR SERVO SYSTEMS WITH UNKNOWN DEAD-ZONES显示文摘A finite-time tracking control scheme is proposed in this paper based on the terminal sliding mode principle for motor servo systems with unknown nonlinear dead-zone inputs.By using the differential mean value theorem, the dead-zone is represented as a time-varying system and thus the inverse compensation approach is avoided. Then,an indirect terminal sliding mode control(ITSMC)is developed to guarantee the finite-time convergence of the tracking error and to overcome the singularity problem in the traditional terminal sliding mode control. In the proposed controller design, the unknown nonlinearity of the system is approximated by a simple sigmoid neural network, and the approximation error is diminished by employing a robust term.Comparative experiments on a turntable servo system are conducted to show the superior performance of the proposed method.CHEN Qiang YU Li NAN Yurong 2013Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2013,26,6:9

12Wind power forecasting based on outlier smooth transition autoregressive GARCH model显示文摘The impacts of outlying shocks on wind power time series are explored by considering the outlier effect in the volatility of wind power time series. A novel short term wind power forecasting method based on outlier smooth transition autoregressive(OSTAR) structure is advanced, then, combined with the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity(GARCH) model, the OSTAR-GARCH model is proposed for wind power forecasting. The proposed model is further generalized to be with fat-tail distribution.Consequently, the mechanisms of regimes against different magnitude of shocks are investigated owing to the outlier effect parameters in the proposed models. Furthermore, the outlier effect is depicted by news impact curve(NIC) and a novel proposed regime switching index(RSI). Case studies based on practical data validate the feasibility of the proposed wind power forecasting method. From the forecast performance comparison of the OSTAR-GARCH models, the OSTAR-GARCH model with fat-tail distribution proves to be promising for wind power forecasting.Hao CHEN Fangxing LI Yurong WANG 2018Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,3:8
13Responses of activities, abundances and community structures of soil denitrifiers to short-term mercury stress显示文摘The responses of activities, abundances and community structures of soil denitrifiers to mercury (Hg) stress were investigated through a short-term incubation experiment. Four soil treatments with different concentrations of Hg (CK, Hg25, Hg50, and Hg100, denoted as 0, 25, 50, and 100 mg Hg/kg dry soil, respectively) were incubated for 28 days. Soil denitrification enzyme activity (DEA) was measured at day 3, 7 and 28. The abundances and community structures of two denitrification concerning genes, nirS (cd1-nitrite reductase gene) and nosZ (nitrous oxide reductase gene), were analyzed using real-time PCR and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). Results showed that soil DEA was significantly stimulated in the treatments of Hg25 and Hg50 compared with others at day 7. Meanwhile, no difference in the abundances of soil nirS and nosZ was found between Hg spiked treatments and CK, except the lower abundance of nirS (P < 0.05) in the Hg added treatments compared with that in the CK at day 28. The community structures of denitrifiers based on nirS gene presented obvious change at day 7 along with the Hg additions, however, no variation was found in all treatments based on the nosZ gene. The results indicated that Hg (Hg25 and Hg50) had a strongly short-term stimulation on soil DEA, and nirS gene is more sensitive than nosZ gene to Hg stress.Zhifeng Zhou Yuanming Zheng Jupei Shen Limei Zhang Yurong Liu Jizheng He 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,3:8
14Experimental demonstrations of high-Q superconducting coplanar waveguide resonators显示文摘We successfully designed and fabricated an absorption-type of superconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators. The resonators are made from a niobium film (about 160 nm thick) on a high-resistance Si substrate, and each resonator is fabricated as a meandered quarter-wavelength transmission line (one end is short to the ground and another end is capacitively coupled to a through feedline). With a vector network analyzer we measured the transmissions of the applied microwave through the resonators at ultra-low temperature. The obtained loaded quality factors are significantly high, i.e. up to ~10 6 . When the temperature increases slowly from the base temperature (20 mK), the resonance frequencies of the resonators are blue shifted and the quality factors are lowered slightly. In principle, this type of device can integrate a series of CPW resonators with a common feedline, making it a promising candidate as the data bus for coupling distant solid-state qubits and the sensitive detector of single photons.LI HaiJie WANG YiWen WEI LianFu ZHOU PinJia WEI Qiang CAO ChunHai FANG YuRong YU Yang WU PeiHeng 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,20:8
15FHY3 and FAR1 Integrate Light Signals with the miR156-SPL Module-Mediated Aging Pathway to Regulate Arabidopsis Flowering显示文摘In response to competition for light from their neighbors,shade-intolerant plants flower precociously to ensure reproductive success and survival. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this key developmental switch are not well understood. Here,we show that a pair of Arabidopsis transcription factors essential for phytochrome A signaling,FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL3(FHY3)and FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE1(FAR1),regulate flowering time by integrating environmental light signals with the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway. We found that FHY3 and FAR1 directly interact with three flowering-promoting SQUAMOSA-PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)transcription factors,SPL3,SPL4,and SPL5,and inhibit their binding to the promoters of several key flowering regulatory genes, including FRUITFUL(FUL),LEAFY(LFY),APETALA1(AP1),and MIR172C,thus downregulating their transcript levels and delaying flowering.Under simulated shade conditions, levels of SPL3/4/5 proteins increase, whereas levels of FHY3 and FAR1 proteins decline, thus releasing SPL3/4/5 from FHY3/FAR1 inhibition to allow activation of FUL,LFY,AP1,and MIR172C and, consequently, early flowering.Taken together, these results unravel a novel mechanism whereby plants regulate flowering time by integrating environmental cues(such as light conditions)and an internal developmental program(the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway).Yurong Xie Qin Zhou Yongping Zhao Quanquan Li Yang Liu Mengdi Ma Baobao Wang Rongxin Shen Zhigang Zheng Haiyang Wang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,3:8
165-Hydroxymethylome in Circulating Cell-free DNA as A Potential Biomarker for Non-small-cell Lung Cancer显示文摘Non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC), the most common type of lung cancer accounting for 85% of the cases, is often diagnosed at advanced stages owing to the lack of efficient early diagnostic tools. 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC) signatures in circulating cell-free DNA(cfDNA) that carries the cancer-specific epigenetic patterns may represent the valuable biomarkers for discriminating tumor and healthy individuals, and thus could be potentially useful for NSCLC diagnosis. Here,we employed a sensitive and reliable method to map genome-wide 5 hmC in the cfDNA of Chinese NSCLC patients and detected a significant 5 hmC gain in both the gene bodies and promoter regions in the blood samples from tumor patients compared with healthy controls. Specifically, we identified six potential biomarkers from 66 patients and 67 healthy controls(mean decrease accuracy>3.2, P < 3.68E-19) using machine-learning-based tumor classifiers with high accuracy. Thus, the unique signature of 5 hmC in tumor patient's cfDNA identified in our study may provide valuable information in facilitating the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for NSCLC.Ji Zhang Xiao Han Chunchun Gao Yurong Xing Zheng Qi Ruijuan Liu Yueqin Wang Xiaojian Zhang Yun-Gui Yang Xiangnan Li Baofa Sun Xin Tian 2018Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2018,16,3:7
17Point mass filter based matching algorithm in gravity aided underwater navigation显示文摘Gravity-aided inertial navigation is a hot issue in the applications of underwater autonomous vehicle(UAV). Since the matching process is conducted with a gravity anomaly database tabulated in the form of a digital model and the resolution is 2' × 2',a filter model based on vehicle position is derived and the particularity of inertial navigation system(INS) output is employed to estimate a parameter in the system model. Meanwhile, the matching algorithm based on point mass filter(PMF) is applied and several optimal selection strategies are discussed. It is obtained that the point mass filter algorithm based on the deterministic resampling method has better practicability. The reliability and the accuracy of the algorithm are verified via simulation tests.HAN Yurong WANG Bo DENG Zhihong FU Mengyin 2018Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2018,29,1:7

19Effects of Brown Fish Meal Replacement with Fermented Soybean Meal on Growth Performance, Feed Efficiency and Enzyme Activities of Chinese Soft-shelled Turtle, Pelodiscus sinensis显示文摘A 120-day feeding experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of partial replacement of brown fish meal (BFM) by fermented soybean meal (FSBM) in diets of Chinese soft-shelled turtle (Pelodiscus sinensis). The turtles (initial mean body weight, (115.52 ± 1.05) g) were fed with three experimental diets, in which 0%, 4.72% and 9.44% BFM protein was replaced by 0%, 3% and 6% FSBM, respectively. Results showed that the feeding rate (FR), specific growth rate (SGR) and feed efficiency ratio (FER) of turtles fed with the diet containing 3% FSBM were not significantly different from the control group (0% FSBM) (P > 0.05). However, FR, SGR and FER of turtles fed with the diet containing 6% FSBM were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). No significant differences were observed in the activities of serum glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase and glutamicpyruvic transaminase among dietary treatments (P > 0.05). However, the uric acid concentration in turtles fed with the diet containing 3% or 6% FSBM was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in the activities of lysozyme, alkaline phosphatase and total superoxide dismutase among dietary treatments (P > 0.05). The results suggested that FSBM could replace 4.72% BFM protein in turtle diets without exerting adverse effects on turtle growth, feed utilization and measured immune parameters.ZOU Yurong AI Qinghui MAI Kangsen ZHANG Wenbing ZHANG Yanjiao XU Wei 2012Journal of Ocean University of China2012,11,2:7
20Micromorphology of landslide soil Case study on the Jibazi landslide in Yunyang in the Three Gorges Region, China显示文摘Landslide is one of natural catastrophes affecting national economy and people’s livelihood There are many reports on the forming mechanism and control of landslide, but the studies on micromorphology of landslide soil are few. There are many potential landslides in the Three Gorges Region in China. In this paper, the micromorphologic features of the Jibazi landslide soil in Yunyang in the Three Gorges Region of the Yangtze River were studied using routine methods, that is, soil micro- morphology, X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope. The main conclusions are as follow: (1) The basic micromorphologic characteristics of the landslide soil are that the fine soil particles are commonly cohesive matrix, finer and lower content o skeleton grains, the microstructures are mainly types of phenocrystal gelatinization, densely chap and fissure structure. As a result, these micromorphologic features affect the discharging of soil water, favor the movement of landslide body and provide an interna basis of materials for the formation of landslide. (2) The concept on the forming material of landslide was proposed, and types of optical beamed clay aggregates Fe-Mn isolates and glassy material were found in landslide-belt soil, which were remarkably differen from the natural soil formation, and had some scientific significance in analyzing the formingmechanism of landslide and distinguishing the landslide-belt soil. (3) Some special micromor- phologic and sub-micromorphologic characteristics, such as fingerprint microstructure, clay beamed bedding microstructure, oppressive microstructure, moulage microstructure and extending hole microstructure, could bring useful micromorphologic evidences for the observation and forecasting of landslide. The results mentioned above will bring helpful micromorphologic evidences for distingui- shing slide soil, analyzing the formation mechanism of landslide, and monitoring and forecasting the occurrence of landslide.HE Yurong CUI Peng LIAO Chaolin ZHANG Baohua ZHAO Yu 2006Journal of Mountain Science2006,3,2:7
