1Mushroom Poisoning Outbreaks-China,2020显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Acute liver failure,rhabdomyolysis,acute renal failure,and hemolysis caused by poisonous mushrooms are the most important mushroom poisoning threats to the Chinese population.The most notorious lethal mushrooms are the species from genera Amanita,Lepiota,and Galerina that cause acute liver failure,and Russula subnigricans that leads to rhabdomyolysis.What is added by this report?In 2020,the total number of investigations reached 676,involving an estimated 102 species of poisonous mushrooms,24 of which were newly recorded in China.Gyromitra venenata was newly discovered in incidents in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces and were the first reported poisonings due to gyromitrins in China since 2000.The rare poisoning Shiitake mushroom dermatitis was recorded in China.Hemolysis poisoning caused by Paxillus involutus was recorded for the second time since the beginning of the new century,resulting in one death in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.What are the implications for public health practice?Promoting knowledge about safe consumption of mushrooms is essential to reduce mushroom poisonings.It is not wise to collect and eat wild mushrooms.For southwestern provinces such as Yunnan,especially,caution must be exercised with unfamiliar mushroom species.Haijiao Li Hongshun Zhang Yizhe Zhang Jing Zhou Yu Yin Qian He Shaofeng Jiang Peibin Ma Yutao Zhang Ke Wen Yuan Yuan Nan Lang Bowen Cheng Junjia Lu Chengye Sun 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,3:13

3Plasma metabolomic and lipidomic alterations associated with COVID-19显示文摘The pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a global public health crisis.The symptoms of COVID-19 range from mild to severe,but the physiological changes associated with COVID-19 are barely understood.In this study,we performed targeted metabolomic and lipidomic analyses of plasma from a cohort of patients with COVID-19 who had experienced different symptoms.We found that metabolite and lipid alterations exhibit apparent correlation with the course of disease in these patients,indicating that the development of COVID-19 affected their whole-body metabolism.In particular,malic acid of the TCA cycle and carbamoyl phosphate of the urea cycle result in altered energy metabolism and hepatic dysfunction,respectively.It should be noted that carbamoyl phosphate is profoundly down-regulated in patients who died compared with patients with mild symptoms.And,more importantly,guanosine monophosphate(GMP),which is mediated not only by GMP synthase but also by CD39 and CD73,is significantly changed between healthy subjects and patients with COVID-19,as well as between the mild and fatal cases.In addition,dyslipidemia was observed in patients with COVID-19.Overall,the disturbed metabolic patterns have been found to align with the progress and severity of COVID-19.This work provides valuable knowledge about plasma biomarkers associated with COVID-19 and potential therapeutic targets,as well as an important resource for further studies of the pathogenesis of COVID-19.Di Wu Ting Shu Xiaobo Yang Jian-Xin Song Mingliang Zhang Chengye Yao Wen Liu Muhan Huang Yuan Yu Qingyu Yang Tingju Zhu Jiqian Xu Jingfang Mu Yaxin Wang Hong Wang Tang Tang Yujie Ren Yongran Wu Shu-Hai Lin Yang Qiu Ding-Yu Zhang You Shang Xi Zhou 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:9
4Mushroom Poisoning Outbreaks — China, 2021显示文摘Summary What is already known about this topic?Mushroom poisoning is one of the most serious food safety issues in China.Most poisoning incidents resulted from eating mushrooms causing gastroenteritis and psycho-neurological disorder from which patients usually could fully recover.Most deaths resulted from species causing acute liver failure and rhabdomyolysis,and the remaining deaths were attributed to acute renal failure and hemolysis.What is added by this report?In 2021,the total number of investigations was 327 from 25 provincial-level administrative divisions,involving 923 patients and 20 deaths,and the overall mortality was 2.17%.Overall,74 poisonous mushrooms causing 6 different clinical syndromes were successfully identified,15 of which were newly recorded in China as poisonous mushrooms.What are the implications for public health practice?Considering the potential huge risks for collecting and eating wild mushrooms,we strongly advise not collecting and eating unfamiliar wild mushrooms.Promoting knowledge about poisonous mushrooms is essential and urgent to reduce mushroom poisonings.Precise species identification timely after mushroom poisoning is important for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.Many deaths were ascribed to delayed hospitalization.Haijiao Li Hongshun Zhang Yizhe Zhang Jing Zhou Yu Yin Qian He Shaofeng Jiang Peibin Ma Yutao Zhang Yuan Yuan Nan Lang Bowen Cheng Mei Wang Chengye Sun 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,3:7

15Prim-O-glucosylcimifugin ameliorates aging-impaired endogenous tendon regeneration by rejuvenating senescent tendon stem/progenitor cells显示文摘Adult tendon stem/progenitor cells(TSPCs)are essential for tendon maintenance,regeneration,and repair,yet they become susceptible to senescence with age,impairing the self-healing capacity of tendons.In this study,we employ a recently developed deep-learning-based efficacy prediction system to screen potential stemness-promoting and senescence-inhibiting drugs from natural products using the transcriptional signatures of stemness.The top-ranked candidate,prim-O-glucosylcimifugin(POG),a saposhnikovia root extract,could ameliorate TPSC senescent phenotypes caused by long-term passage and natural aging in rats and humans,as well as restore the self-renewal and proliferative capacities and tenogenic potential of aged TSPCs.In vivo,the systematic administration of POG or the local delivery of POG nanoparticles functionally rescued endogenous tendon regeneration and repair in aged rats to levels similar to those of normal animals.Mechanistically,POG protects TSPCs against functional impairment during both passage-induced and natural aging by simultaneously suppressing nuclear factor-κB and decreasing mTOR signaling with the induction of autophagy.Thus,the strategy of pharmacological intervention with the deep learning-predicted compound POG could rejuvenate aged TSPCs and improve the regenerative capacity of aged tendons.Yu Wang Shanshan Jin Dan Luo Danqing He Min Yu Lisha Zhu Zixin Li Liyuan Chen Chengye Ding Xiaolan Wu Tianhao Wu Weiran Huang Xuelin Zhao Meng Xu Zhengwei Xie Yan Liu 2023Bone Research2023,11,4:0

18Preparation and upconversion luminescence modification of YbPO4:Er3+inverse opal heterostructure显示文摘Photonic crystal heterostructures composed of YbPO_4:Er^(3+) inverse opal and polystyrene opal were prepared via a template-assisted process, which exhibited two photonic band gaps. The microstructure,phase and optical properties of photonic crystal heterostructures were investigated by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence lifetime,etc. The upconversion emission suppression caused by single photonic band gap from the following YbPO_4:Er^(3+) inverse opal or the upper opal was observed. The upconversion luminescence was strongly suppressed due to the two photonic band gap overlapping effect caused by the following YbPO_4:Er^(3+) inverse opal or the upper opal. The modified mechanisms of upconversion luminescence were discussed by the upconversion luminescence lifetime of YbPO_4:Er^(3+) photonic crystal heterostructures.
