| 2 | Clinical study of transcatheter occlusion in treating ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge显示文摘Background: Perimembranous ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge generally should be treated with surgical thoracotomy, owing to the potential aortic regurgitation. However, the minimally invasive method of transcatheter closure has always attracted the attention of cardiologists and patients. The present study aimed to apply transcatheter occlusion in treating ventricular septal defect with right coronary cusp bulge and further evaluate the clinical effect through follow-up. Materials and methods: A total of 40 children diagnosed as having a ventricular septal defect with right coronary cusp bulge, examined using transthoracic echocardiography and cardiovascular angiography, were enrolled in this study. The ventricular septal defects were closed by placing occluders through transcatheter occlusion treatment. During the operation process, the children underwent angiography and transthoracic echocardiography examinations to check the position of the occlude and the extent of aortic regurgitation. The influence of occlusion on the conduction system was evaluated using a surface electrocardiogram. The children were followed up after their procedures. Results: All 40 patients were immediately and successfully occluded. Three patients with filament residual shunts were observed during the operations. No major surgical complications occurred during the perioperative period. During the follow-up period, the positions of all the occluders were good, the residual shunts in the three patients disappeared, and no new or aggravated aortic regurgitation occurred. Electrocardiogram did not reveal any atrioventricular blocks. Only one patient suffered from an incomplete right bundle branch block. Conclusions: Children diagnosed with ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge could be considered for transcatheter occlusion. | 3 | A model-based prognostics method for fatigue crack growth in fuselage panels显示文摘This paper proposes a model-based prognostics method that couples the Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) and a new developed linearization method. The proposed prognostics method is developed in the context of fatigue crack propagation in fuselage panels where the model parameters are unknown and the crack propagation is affected by different types of uncertainties. The coupled method is composed of two steps. The first step employs EKF to estimate the unknown model parameters and the current damage state. In the second step, the proposed efficient linearization method is applied to compute analytically the statistical distribution of the damage evolution path in some future time. A numerical case study is implemented to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The results show that the coupled EKF-linearization method provides satisfactory results: the EKF algorithm well identifies the model parameters, and the linearization method gives comparable prediction results to Monte Carlo(MC) method while leading to very significant computational cost saving. | 5 | Crystal structure of histidine-containing phosphocarrier protein from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis MB4 and the implications for thermostability显示文摘Protein thermostability is an inherent characteristic of proteins from thermophilic microorganisms,and therefore enables these organisms to survive at extreme temperatures.Although it is well-known that thermostable proteins are critical for the growth of thermophilic organisms,the structural basis of protein thermostability is not yet fully understood.The histidine-containing phosphocarrier (HPr) protein,a phosphate shuttle protein in the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent sugar transport system (PTS) of bacterial species,is an ideal model for investigating protein thermostability with respect to its small size and deficiency in disulphide bonds or cofactors.In this study,the HPr protein from Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis (TtHPr) is cloned and purified.Crystal structure with good quality has been determined at 2.3 resolution,which provides a firm foundation for exploring the thermostable mechanism.However,it shows that the crystal structure is conserved and no clue can be obtained from this single structure.Furthermore,detailed comparison of sequence and structure with the homologs from mesoor thermophilic bacteria shows no obvious rule for thermostability,but the extra salt-bridge existing only in thermophilic bacteria might be a better explanation for thermostability of HPr.Thus,mutations are performed to interrupt the salt-bridge in HPrs in thermophilic bacteria.Using site-directed mutations and the circular dichroism method,thermostability is evaluated,and the mutational variations are shown to have a faster denaturing rate than for wild-type viruses,indicating that mutations cause instability in the HPrs.Understanding the higher-temperature resistance of thermophilic and hyperthermophilic proteins is essential to studies on protein folding and stability,and is critical in engineering efficient enzymes that can work at a high temperature. | FENG ChunYan GAO Feng LIU YiWei WANG GuiHua PENG Hao MA YanHe YAN JingHua GAO George Fu | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,6: | 2 |

| 8 | Estimating Multiple Socioeconomic Attributes via Home Location-A Case Study in China显示文摘Inferring people’s Socioeconomic Attributes(SEAs),including income,occupation,and education level,is an important problem for both social sciences and many networked applications like targeted advertising and personalized recommendation.Previous works mainly focus on estimating SEAs from peoples’cyberspace behaviors and relationships,such as the content of tweets or the social networks between online users.Besides cyberspace data,alternative data sources about users’physical behavior,like their home location,may offer new insights.More specifically,in this paper,we study how to predict a person’s income level,family income level,occupation type,and education level from his/her home location.As a case study,we collect people’s home locations and socioeconomic attributes through a survey involving 9 provinces and 85 cities in China.We further enrich home location with the knowledge from real estate websites,government statistics websites,online map services,etc.To learn a shared representation from input features as well as attribute-specific representations for different SEAs,we propose H2SEA,a factorization machine-based multi-task learning method with attention mechanism.Extensive experiment results show that:(1)Home location can clearly improve the estimation accuracy for all SEA prediction tasks(e.g.,80.2%improvement in terms of F1-score in estimating personal income level);(2)The proposed H2SEA model outperforms alternative models for SEA inference in terms of various evaluation metrics,such as Area Under Curve(AUC),F-measure,and specificity;(3)The performance of specific SEA prediction tasks(e.g.,personal income)can be further improved if H2SEA only focuses on cities or villages due to urban-rural gap in China;(4)Compared with online crawled housing price data,the area-level average income and Points Of Interest(POI)are more important features for SEA inferences in China. | Shichang Ding Xin Gao Yufan Dong Yiwei Tong Xiaoming Fu | 2021 | Journal of Social Computing2021,2,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Realizing compact three-dimensional charge transport networks of asymmetric electron acceptors for efficient organic solar cells显示文摘Asymmetry has been demonstrated an effective approach in recent years to tune the structural and energetic orders of nonfullerene electron acceptors(NFAs)to prepare efficient organic solar cells(OSCs).In this article,five asymmetric NFAs,namely C9BTP-BO-Th Cl-2F,C9BTP-BO-Cl-2F,C9BTP-BO-2Cl-2F,C7BTP-BO-2Cl-2F and C5BTP-BO-2Cl-2F possessing varied asymmetric end-groups and alkyl chains are synthesized to tune the charge transport networks formed within these NFAs.We found that the enhanced planarity in the asymmetric NFA can facilitate closerπ-πstacking distance in either the A-to-A or A-toD type NFA dimers,whilst the larger dipole moment can promote the formation of three-dimensional(3D)charge transport networks among NFAs.Taking those advantages,C7BTP-BO-2Cl-2F exhibit a compact 3D honeycomb network with a high packing coefficient of 72.1%and molecular packing density of 0.48 g/cm^(3),contributing to a superior power conversion efficiency of 18.0%when employing PM6 as the donor,with an open-circuit voltage of 0.85 V,short-circuit current of26.7 m A cm^(-2)and fill factor of 79.3%.Our work provides guidelines in engineering the end group and side chains of asymmetric NFAs to achieve compact charge transport networks for high efficiency OSCs. | Jinlong Cai Yiwei Fu Chuanhang Guo Donghui Li Liang Wang Chen Chen Dan Liu Wei Li Tao Wang | 2023 | Science China Chemistry2023,66,2: | 1 |

| 15 | Analytical Representation of Data-driven Transient Stability Constraint and Its Application in Preventive Control显示文摘Accurate transient stability assessment(TSA) and effective preventive control are important for the stable operation of power systems. With the superiorities in precision and efficiency, data-driven methods are widely used in TSA nowadays. Data-driven TSA model can be adopted in the stability constraints of preventive control optimization, but existing methods are mostly iteration-based ones, which may result in low efficiency, sometimes even non-convergence. In this paper,an analytical representation method of data-driven transient stability constraint is proposed based on a non-parametric regression model built for TSA. Key feature extraction and dominant sample selection are proposed to reduce the scale of the TSA model, and bi-level linearization is applied to further modify it.Optimal preventive control model is then formulated as a mixed-integer linear program(MILP) problem with the linearized analytical data-driven transient stability constraint, which can be solved without iterations. An overall procedure of datadriven TSA and preventive control is finally developed. | 16 | SiRAP2-12,a Positive Regulatory Factor,Effectively Improves the Waterlogging Tolerance of Foxtail Millet(Setaria italica)显示文摘Foxtail millet(Setaria italica)growth was inhibited because of waterlogging stress,which has caused yield reduc-tion.ERF family plays an important role to plant adversity tolerance.In our study,we obtained 19,819 differential expressed genes(DEGs)between the two treatments based on the RNA-seq sequencing of foxtail millet of water-logging stress.Furthermore,a total of 28 ERF family members were obtained,which have a complete open read-ing frame.We studied the evolution and function of SiERF family and how they affected the waterlogging tolerance.It was found that SiERF1A/B/C(GenBank ID:OR775217,OR775219,OR775218)and SiRAP2-12(GenBank ID:OR775216)have similar functions to the known waterlogging tolerance genes of other plants.Among them,the SiRAP2-12 expression was obviously significantly up-regulated in foxtail millet after 5d water-logging stress.After SiRAP2-12 was silenced,the activity of defense enzymes in millet decreased significantly.In details,superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT)and peroxidase(POD),the osmotic regulator proline(Pro),and the activity of the anaerobic respiratory enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)content were decreased by 78.61%,29.52%,79.95%,19.41%and 54.77%,respectively.In contrast,the relative electrical conductivity contents(REC),malondialdehyde(MDA),and hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))of the foxtail millet subjected to virus-induced gene silencing clearly increased by 1.03-fold,36.09%,and 15.21%,respectively.The content of sodium(Na^(+))in the SiRAP2-12-silenced foxtail millet also increased,but that of potassium(K^(+))decreased.Interestingly,we found that ethylene content was significantly reduced.Further,the SiAOC1 expression,an essential gene for ethylene synthesis,was inhibited in SiRAP2-12-silenced foxtail millet after waterlogging stress.Taken together,we hypothesized that SiRAP2-12 might be a positive regulator of millet tolerance to waterlogging stress. | Xueyan Xia Xiaohong Fu Yu Zhao Jihan Cui Nuoya Xiao Jingxin Wang Yiwei Lu Meihong Huang Cheng Chu Jia Zhang Mengxin Yang Shunguo Li Jianfeng Liu | 2024 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2024,93,3: | 0 |
