| 1 | Fabrication of corrosion-resistant superhydrophobic coating on magnesium alloy by one-step electrodeposition method显示文摘A one-step electrodeposition method was used to construct a superhydrophobic coating on the surface of magnesium alloy.Using magne-sium nitrate and ethanol solution of stearic acid as electrolyte,four groups of electrolytes with different ratios of stearic acid and magnesium nitrate were designed to explore the influence of electrolyte to the process.The contact angles of the four coating samples were 136.4±5.8°,152.7±2.8°,156.2±4.9°and 155.1±4.4°The addition of magnesium nitrate in the solution increased the hydrogen evolution reaction in the electrodeposition process,which was not conducive to electrodeposition process.During the deposition process,the sample prepared in a molar ratio of stearic acid to magnesium nitrate of 10:1 had the best corrosion resistance,and its corrosion circuit density was 3.74×10^(−8)A/cm^(2),far lower than the corrosion current density of the magnesium alloy substrate. | Tianxu Zheng Yaobo Hu Fusheng Pan Yuxin Zhang Aitao Tang | 2019 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,2: | 26 |

| 3 | Cationic content effects of biodegradable amphoteric chitosan-based flocculants on the flocculation properties显示文摘A series of biodegradable amphoteric chitosan-based flocculants(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(CTA) modified carboxymethyl chitosan,denoted as CMC-CTA) with different substitution degrees of CTA were prepared successfully.The content of carboxymethyl groups in each CMC-CTA sample was kept almost constant.The solubility of the various flocculants showed that,higher cationic content of flocculants caused a better solubility.The flocculation experiments using kaolin suspension as synthetic water at the laboratory scale indicated that the substitution degree of CTA was one of the key factors for the flocculation properties.With the increase of cationic content,the flocculants were demonstrated better flocculation performance and lower dosage requirement.Flocculation kinetics model of particles collisions combining zeta potential and turbidity measurements was employed to investigate the effects of the cationic content of the flocculants on the flocculation properties from the viewpoint of flocculation mechanism in detail.Furthermore,flocculation performance using raw water from Zhenjiang part of Yangtze River at the pilot scale showed the similar effects to those at the laboratory scale. | Zhen Yang Yabo Shang Xin Huang Yichun Chen Yaobo Lu Aimin Chen Yuxiang Jiang Wei Gu Xiaozhi Qian Hu Yang Rongshi Cheng | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8: | 8 |
| 4 | Cytoplasmic dynein:a key player in neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases显示文摘Cytoplasmic dynein is the most important molecular motor driving the movement of a wide range of cargoes towards the minus ends of microtubules.As a molecular motor protein,dynein performs a variety of basic cellular functions including organelle transport and centrosome assembly.In the nervous system,dynein has been demonstrated to be responsible for axonal retrograde transport.Many studies have revealed direct or indirect evidence of dynein in neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease,Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease.Among them,a number of mutant proteins involved in various neurodegenerative diseases interact with dynein.Axonal transport disruption is presented as a common feature occurring in neurodegenerative diseases.Dynein heavy chain mutant mice also show features of neurodegenerative diseases.Moreover,defects of dynein-dependent processes such as autophagy or clearance of aggregation-prone proteins are found in most of these diseases.Lines of evidence have also shown that dynein is associated with neurodevelopmental diseases.In this review,we focus on dynein involvement in different neurological diseases and discuss potential underlying mechanisms. | CHEN Xiang-Jun XU Huan COOPER Helen M LIU Yaobo | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,4: | 8 |
| 5 | Influence of carbon sources on nutrient removal in A2/O-MBRs: Availability assessment of internal carbon source显示文摘Both internal carbon source and some external carbon sources were used to improve the nutrient removal in Anaerobic-Anoxic-Oxic-Membrane Bioreactor(A^2/O-MBRs), and their technical and cost analysis was investigated. The experimental results showed that the nutrient removals were improved by all the carbon source additions. The total nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency were higher in the experiments with external carbon source additions than that with internal carbon source addition. It was found that pathways of nitrogen and phosphorus transform were different dependent on different carbon source additions by the mass balance analysis. With external carbon source addition, the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred in aerobic zone, and the P-uptake in aerobic phase was evident. Therefore, with addition of C-MHP(internal carbon source produced from sludge pretreatment by microwave-H_2O_2 process), the denitrification and phosphorus-uptake in anoxic zone was notable. Cost analysis showed that the unit nitrogen removal costs were 57.13 CNY/kgN of C-acetate addition and 54.48 CNY/kgN of C-MHP addition, respectively. | 6 | Influence of extrusion conditions on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr magnesium alloy显示文摘In general,different extrusion conditions will affect the microstructure of magnesium alloys and further determine the mechanical properties.The effects of extrusion parameters and heat treatment processes such as extrusion speed,pre-forging,annealing time,extrusion ratio and cooling rate on the microstructure,texture evolution and tensile properties of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloys were investigated in this study.Compared with the as-cast alloy,the extrusion process significantly refines the grains and exhibit the rare earth texture.With the increase of extrusion speed and annealing time,the growth of recrystallized grains is accelerated,leading to the increase of elongation.Large pre-forging deformation achieves to refine the grains by promoting recrystallization nucleation,resulting in increased strength of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloy.Decreasing the extrusion ratio or increasing the cooling rate will introduce coarse un-DRXed grains,which transformed the texture into the basal texture.In particular,the effect of rapid cooling on refining the recrystallized grains is also obvious.Different extrusion conditions influence the mechanical properties of the Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloy through the grain size,proportion of non-recrystallization region and texture type. | Tianshuo Zhao Yaobo Hu Chao Zhang Bing He Tianxu Zheng Aitao Tang Fusheng Pan | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,2: | 4 |
| 7 | The Yin and Yang of Wnt/Ryk axon guidance in development and regeneration显示文摘In the developing embryo,nascent axons navigate towards their specific targets to establish the intricate network of axonal connections linking neurons within the mature nervous system.Molecular navigational systems comprising repulsive and attractive guidance cues form chemotactic gradients along the pathway of the exploring growth cone.Axon-bound receptors detect these gradients and determine the trajectory of the migrating growth cone.In contrast to their benevolent role in the developing nervous system,repulsive guidance receptors are detrimental to the axon’s ability to regenerate after injury in the adult.In this review we explore the essential and beneficial role played by the chemorepulsive Wnt receptor,Ryk/Derailed in axon navigation in the embryonic nervous system(the Yin function).Specifically,we focus on the role of Wnt5a/Rykmediated guidance in the establishment of two major axon tracts in the mammalian central nervous system,the corticospinal tract and the corpus callosum.Recent studies have also identified Ryk as a major suppressor of axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury.Thus,we also discuss this opposing aspect of Ryk function in axonal regeneration where its activity is a major impediment to axon regrowth(the Yang function). | CLARK Charlotte EJ LIU Yaobo COOPER Helen M | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,4: | 4 |

| 9 | Modifying glass fiber surface with grafting acrylamide by UV-grafting copolymerization for preparation of glass fiber reinforced PVDF composite membrane显示文摘Experimental design and response surface methodology(RSM) were used to optimize the modification of conditions for glass surface grafting with acrylamide(AM) monomer for preparation of a glass fiber reinforced poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) composite membrane(GFRP-CM). The factors considered for experimental design were the UV(ultraviolet)-irradiation time, the concentrations of the initiator and solvent, and the kinds and concentrations of the silane coupling agent. The optimum operating conditions determined were UV-irradiation time of 25 min, an initiator concentration of 0–0.25 wt.%,solvent of N-Dimethylacetamide(DMAC), and silane coupling agent KH570 with a concentration of 7 wt.%. The obtained optimal parameters were located in the valid region and the experimental confirmation tests conducted showed good accordance between predicted and experimental values. Under these optimal conditions, the water absorption of the grafted modified glass fiber was improved from 13.6% to 23%; the tensile strength was enhanced and the peeling strength of the glass fiber reinforced PVDF composite membrane was improved by 23.7% and 32.6% with an AM concentration at 1 wt.% and 2 wt.%. The surface composition and microstructure of AM grafted glass fiber were studied via several techniques including Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy-attenuated total reflectance(FTIR-ATR) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX). | 11 | Preparation and characterization of PVDF-glass fiber composite membrane reinforced by interfacial UV-grafting copolymerization显示文摘A novel inorganic–organic composite membrane,namely poly(vinylidene fluoride) PVDF-glass fiber(PGF) composite membrane,was prepared and reinforced by interfacial ultraviolet(UV)-grafting copolymerization to improve the interfacial bonding strength between the membrane layer and the glass fiber.The interfacial polymerization between inorganic–organic interfaces is a chemical cross-linking reaction that depends on the functionalized glass fiber with silane coupling(KH570) as the initiator and the polymer solution with acrylamide monomer(AM) as the grafting block.The Fourier transform infrared spectrometer-attenuated total reflectance(FTIR-ATR) spectra and the energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) pictures of the interface between the glass fiber and polymer matrix confirmed that the AM was grafted to the surface of the glass fiber fabric and that the grafting polymer was successfully embedded in the membrane matrix.The formation mechanisms,permeation,and anti-fouling performance of the PGF composite membrane were measured with different amounts of AM in the doping solutions.The results showed that the grafting composite membrane improved the interfacial bonding strength and permeability,and the peeling strength was improved by 32.6% for PGF composite membranes with an AM concentration at 2 wt.%. | Nan Luo Rongle Xu Min Yang Xing Yuan Hui Zhong Yaobo Fan | 2015 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,12: | 3 |
