1Ozone sensitivity analysis with the MM5-CMAQ modeling system for Shanghai显示文摘Ozone has become one of the most important air pollution issues around the world. This article applied both O 3 /(NOy-NOx) and H 2 O 2 /HNO 3 indicators to analyze the ozone sensitivity in urban and rural areas of Shanghai, with implementation of the MM5-CMAQ modeling system in July, 2007. The meteorological parameters were obtained by using the MM5 model. A regional emission inventory with spatial and temporal allocation based on the statistical data has been developed to provide input emission data to the MM5-CMAQ modeling system. Results showed that the ozone concentrations in Shanghai show clear regional differences. The ozone concentration in rural areas was much higher than that in the urban area. 2Study on self-healing and corrosion resistance behaviors of functionalized carbon dot-intercalated graphene-based waterborne epoxy coating显示文摘Functionalized carbon dots(CDs)obtained from citric acid derivative were selected as intercalatorto modify graphene and then dispersed into epoxy matrix to prepare CDs modified graphene/epoxy(CDs-G/EP)coatings.Meanwhile,their microstructure,self-healing and corro sion resistance behaviors were analyzed deeply.Structural characterizations indicated the formation of'π-π'interaction between functionalized carbon dots and graphene.By observation,the dispersion and interface compatibility of graphene were greatly enhanced by CDs.The change rules of electrochemistry results implied that the addition of 0.5 wt.%CDs-G in EP coating(CDs-G0.5%/EP)demonstrated a superior protective property on steel,which was attributed to the physical barrier of highly dispersed graphene and the self-healing ability of CDs.After 50 days immersion,the oxygen permeability coefficient and water absorption of CDs-G0.5%/EP coating were only 4.27×10^(-13)cm^(3)cm cm^(-2)s^(-1)Pa^(-1) and 4.4%,respectively.Yuwei Ye Hao Chen Yangjun Zou Haichao Zhao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,8:5
3Methods for predicting the remaining useful life of equipment in consideration of the random failure threshold显示文摘The value range of the failure threshold will generate an uncertain influence on the prediction results for the remaining useful life(RUL) of equipment. Most of the existing studies on the RUL prediction assume that the failure threshold is a fixed value,as they have difficulty in reflecting the random variation of the failure threshold. In connection with the inadequacies of the existing research, an in-depth analysis is carried out to study the effect of the random failure threshold(RFT) on the prediction results for the RUL. First, a nonlinear degradation model with unit-to-unit variability and measurement error is established based on the nonlinear Wiener process. Second, the expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm is used to solve the estimated values of the parameters of the prior degradation model, and the Bayesian method is used to iteratively update the posterior distribution of the random coefficients. Then, the effects of three types of RFT constraint conditions on the prediction results for the RUL are analyzed, and the probability density function(PDF) of the RUL is derived. 4Evaluation of the inhibition behavior of carbon dots on carbon steel in HCl and NaCl solutions显示文摘An eco-friendly and effective corrosion inhibitor(N-CDs)was acquired by hydrothermal method in methacrylic acid and ethyl(methyl)amine precursors.Afterwards,the weight loss and electrochemistry measurement were chosen to appraise the corrosion inhibition behavior of as-prepared N-CDs for Q235 steel in Cl-contained solutions.The change rules of EIS and Tafel data displayed that the as-prepared N-CDs revealed a high-efficiency protection for steel in all test environments.Meanwhile,the inhibition efficiency of steel reached up to 93.93%(1 M HCl)and 88.96%(3.5 wt%Na Cl)at 200 mg/L of N-CDs.Furthermore,the N-CDs could form the adsorption film on steel surface to avoid the strong attack of Cl-.By analysis,the adsorption mechanism of as-prepared N-CDs on steel surface was physicochemical interaction,which strictly complied with the Langmuir adsorption model in both solutions.Yuwei Ye Zilong Jiang Yangjun Zou Hao Chen Shengda Guo Qiumin Yang Liyong Chen 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,8:3
5Effects of annealing and firing in wet hydrogen on the dielectric breakdown strengths of alumina ceramics显示文摘Annealing and firing in wet hydrogen are widely used steps in the processing alumina.ceramic insulators that may affect their dielectric breakdown strengths(DBS).In this study,the effects of annealing(at 1300℃for 7 h)and firing in wet hydrogen on the DBS of alumina ceramics(all sintered at 1650℃)were studied,and the underlying mechanisms were analyzed by material characterizations.Annealing reduced the DBS of the 95%alumina ceramics due to the inter-granular phase crystallization,and the reduction in the DBS could be correlated to the reduction in mechanical strength.In contrast,annealing improved the DBS of the 99%alumina ceramic without intergranular phase transformation.Firing in wet hydrogen at 1500℃caused the DBS increment,which can be ascribed to the reduction in the concentrations of point defects and electrical carriers.Jishi DU Binghua TANG Wei LIU Tao ZhANG Jiagen PENG Hu CHEN Yangjun LEI 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,2:1
6Effects of pulse flow and leading edge sweep on mixed flow turbines for engine exhaust heat recovery显示文摘Recovery of heat energy from internal combustion engine exhaust will achieve significant road transportation CO2 reduction. 7Junction plakoglobin regulates and destabilizes HIF2α to inhibit tumorigenesis of renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:Increased hypoxia-inducible factor 2α(HIF2α)activation is a common event in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)progression.However,the function and underlying mechanism of HIF2α in ccRCC remains uninvestigated.We conducted this study to access the potential link between junction plakoglobin(JUP)and HIF2αin ccRCC.Methods:Affinity purification and mass spectrometry(AP-MS)screening,glutathione-s-transferase(GST)pull-down and co-immunoprecipitation(Co-IP)assays were performed to detect the interacting proteins of HIF2α.Quantitative PCR(qPCR)and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of JUP in human ccRCC samples.Luciferase reporter assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP),cycloheximide chase assays,and ubiquitination assays were conducted to explore the regulation of JUP on the activity of HIF2α.Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assays,colony formation assays,transwell assays,and xenograft tumor assays were performed to investigate the effect of JUP knockdown or overexpression on the tumorigenicity of renal cancer cells.Results:We identified JUP as a novel HIF2α-binding partner and revealed an important role of JUP in recruiting von Hippel-Lindau(VHL)and histone deacetylases 1/2(HDAC1/2)to HIF2α to regulate its stability and transactivation.JUP knockdown promoted and overexpression suppressed the tumorigenicity of renal cell carcinoma in vitro and in vivo.Importantly,the low expression of JUP was found in clinical ccRCC samples and correlated with enhanced hypoxia scores and poor treatment outcomes.Conclusion:Taken together,these data support a role of JUP in modulating HIF2α signaling during ccRCC progression and identify JUP as a potential therapeutic target.Ke Chen Jin Zeng Yi Sun Wei Ouyang Gan Yu Hui Zhou Yangjun Zhang Weimin Yao Wei Xiao Junhui Hu Jinchun Xing Kefeng Xiao Lily Wu Zhiqiang Chen Zhangqun Ye Hua Xu 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,4:1

9Artificial evolution of OsEPSPS through an improved dual cytosine and adenine base editor generated a novel allele conferring rice glyphosate tolerance显示文摘Exploiting novel endogenous glyphosate-tolerant alleles is highly desirable and has promising potential for weed control in rice breeding. Here,through fusions of different effective cytosine and adenine deaminases with nCas9-NG, we engineered an effective surrogate two-component composite base editing system, STCBE-2, with improved C-to-T and A-to-G base editing efficiency and expanded the editing window. Furthermore,we targeted a rice endogenous OsEPSPS gene for artificial evolution through STCBE-2-mediated near-saturated mutagenesis. After hygromycin and glyphosate selection, we identified a novel OsEPSPS allele with an Asp-213-Asn(D213N)mutation(OsEPSPS-D213N) in the predicted glyphosate-binding domain, which conferred rice plants reliable glyphosate tolerance and had not been reported or applied in rice breeding. Collectively, we developed a novel dual base editor which will be valuable for artificial evolution of important genes in crops. 10Biomimetic hybrid hydrogel for hemostasis,adhesion prevention and promoting regeneration after partial liver resection显示文摘Partial liver resection is an established treatment for hepatic disorders.However,surgical bleeding,intra-abdominal adhesion and rapid liver regeneration are still major challenges after partial liver resection,associated with morbidity and mortality.Herein,a biomimetic hybrid hydrogel,composed of oxidized hyaluronic acid,glycol chitosan and MenSCs-derived conditioned medium(CM),is presented to address these issues.The hybrid hydrogel is formed through reversible Schiff base,and possesses injectability and self-healing capability.Moreover,hybrid hydrogel exhibits the capabilities of hemostasis,anti-infection,tissue adhesion and controllable release of cargoes.Based on in vivo studies of the multifunctional hybrid hydrogel,it is demonstrated that acute bleeding in partial liver resection can be ceased immediately by virtue of the hemostasis features of hybrid hydrogel.Also,a significant reduction of intra-abdominal adhesion is confirmed in hybrid hydrogel-treated resection surface.Furthermore,upon the treatment of hybrid hydrogel,hepatic cell proliferation and tissue regeneration can be significantly improved due to the controllably released cytokines from MenSCs-derived CM,exerting the effects of mitogenesis and anti-inflammation in vivo.Thus,the biomimetic hybrid hydrogel can be a promising candidate with great potential for application in partial liver resection.Zuhong Li Yalei Zhao Xiaoxi Ouyang Ya Yang Yangjun Chen Qixia Luo Yanhong Zhang Danhua Zhu Xiaopeng Yu Lanjuan Li 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:0
11Performance Improvement of a Centrifugal Compressor for the Fuel Cell Vehicle by Tip Leakage Vortex Control显示文摘Heightened interests have been laid at the preliminary design and optimization of the centrifugal compressor for the fuel cell vehicle.The centrifugal compressor for fuel cell vehicle is driven by a high-speed motor;however,the limit of the motor speed makes the flow passage of the impeller long and narrow,which leads to a serious tip leakage loss.Serious tip leakage loss deteriorates the compressor performance.In this paper,3-D numerical simulations were carried out with the aim of investigating the tip leakage loss in a prototype centrifugal compressor for a 100 kW fuel cell stack.The results revealed that the mixing loss caused by the interaction between the tip leakage vortex and the downstream tip leakage flow contributed to the major part of the tip leakage loss.The path of the tip leakage vortex almost followed the streamwise direction,while the downstream tip leakage flow exhibited strong circumferential momentum,which referred to the fact that they were nearly orthogonal.Therefore,a flow control approach,which was realized by enhancing the blade loading around the leading edge of blade tips in this paper,was proposed to decrease the interaction angle between the tip leakage vortex and the downstream tip leakage flow and then mitigate mixing loss by changing the flow direction of the tip leakage vortex.The results showed a smaller interaction angle was achieved in the optimized impeller compared with the baseline one.Meanwhile,the efficiency was also improved by 1.30%at design condition and the maximum efficiency improvement could be up to 10%at large mass flow condition of 92000 r/min.Being manufactured and tested,the optimized compressor was proved to achieve an isentropic efficiency of 75.84%at design condition.CHEN Haoxiang ZHUGE Weilin ZHANG Yangjun MA Xuelong TAO Lin 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,6:0
12Real-Time Instability Detection of Centrifugal Compressors Based on Motor Speed Measurements显示文摘Flow instability in the centrifugal compressor should be detected and avoided for stable and safe operation.Due to the popularity of electric centrifugal compressors,instability detection could be achieved by measuring motor signals instead of traditional aerodynamic signals.In this paper,the feasibility of instability detection by motor signals(i.e.rotating speed and phase current)was studied experimentally.The physical structure and control method of the electric centrifugal compressor were discussed to reveal the potential of instability detection by motor signals.Dynamic pressure signals and motor signals measured during unsteady experiments were analyzed in the time domain and frequency domain.Characteristics of these signals were then compared under different operating conditions to indicate the feasibility of instability detection by motor signals.Finally,the ability of Short-Time Fourier Transform(STFT)of rotating speed signals in real-time instability detection was discussed.Results showed that the rotating speed signal is a good alternate for instability detection in spite of signal distortion,while the phase current signal can only detect surge due to the low resolution of the controller.Based on the variations of the amplitude and frequency of rotating speed signals,the real-time instability can be captured accurately by STFT with a window size of 0.5 s.Besides,the interference caused by the controller can be removed by STFT.CHEN Haoxiang ZHUGE Weilin QIAN Yuping ZHANG Yangjun LIU Hongdan 2023Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,1:0
13Flow Loss Mechanism in a Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Centrifugal Compressor at Low Flow Rate Conditions显示文摘With the advantages of high efficiency and compact structure,supercritical carbon dioxide(sC02)Brayton cycles have bright prospects for development in energy conversion field.As one of the core components of the power cycle,the centrifugal compressor tends to operate near the critical point(304.13 K,7.3773 MPa).Normally,the compressor efficiency increases as the inlet temperature decreases.When the inlet temperature is close to the critical point,the density increases sharply as the temperature decreases,which results in quickly decreasing of volume flow rate and efficiency reducing.The flow loss mechanism of the sCO_(2) compressor operating at low flow rate is studied in this paper.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations for sCO_(2)compressor were carried out at various inlet temperatures and various mass flow rates.When the sCO_(2)compressor operates at low volume flow rate,the flow loss is generated mainly on the suction side near the trailing edge of the blade.The flow loss is related to the counterclockwise vortexes generated on the suction side of the main blade.The vortexes are caused by the flow separation in the downstream region of the impeller passage,which is different from air compressors operating at low flow rates.The reason for this flow separation is that the effect of Coriolis force is especially severe for the sCO_(2) fluid,compared to the viscous force and inertial force.At lower flow rates,with the stronger effect of Coriolis force,the direction of relative flow velocity deviates from the direction of radius,resulting in its lower radial component.The lower radial relative flow velocity leads to severe flow separation on the suction side near the trailing edge of the main blade.YANG Zimu JIANG Hongsheng ZHUGE Weilin CAI Ruikai YANG Mingyang CHEN Haoxiang QIAN Yuping ZHANG Yangjun 2024Journal of Thermal Science2024,33,1:0

15Forging Inspired Processing of Sodium-Fluorinated Graphene Composite as Dendrite-Free Anode for Long-Life Na–CO_(2) Cells显示文摘Na–CO_(2) batteries recently are emerging as promising energy-storage devices due to the abundance of Na in the earth’s crust and the clean utilization of greenhouse gas CO_(2) .However,similar to metallic Li,metallic Na also suffers from a serious issue of dendrite growth upon repeated cycling,while a facile method to solve this issue is still lacking.In this work,we report an effective,environmentally friendly method to inhibit Na dendrite growth by in situ constructing a stable,NaF-rich solid electrolyte interface(SEI)layer on metallic Na via adding a small amount(~3 wt%)of fluorinated graphene(FG)in bulk Na.Inspired by the forging processing,a uniform Na/FG composite was obtained by melting and repetitive FG-adsorbing/hammering processes.The Na/FG–Na/FG half cell exhibits a low voltage hysteresis of 110–140 mV over 700 h at a current density up to 5 mA cm^(-2) with an areal capacity as high as 5 mAh cm^(-2).Na–CO_(2) full cell with the Na/FG anode is able to sustain a stable cycling of 391 cycles at a limited capacity of 1000 mAh g^(-1).Long cycle life of the cell can be attributed to the protecting effect of the in situ fabricated NaF-rich SEI layer on metallic Na.Both experiments and density functional theory(DFT)calculations confirm the formation of the NaF-rich SEI layer.The inhibition effect of the NaF-rich SEI layer for Na dendrites is verified by in situ optical microscopy observations.Yangjun Mao Xiao Chen Hao Cheng Yunhao Lu Jian Xie Tao Zhang Jian Tu Xiongwen Xu Tiejun Zhu Xinbing Zhao 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,2:0
16Responses of the field-aligned currents in the plasma sheet boundary layer to a geomagnetic storm显示文摘Geomagnetic storms can result in large magnetic field disturbances and intense currents in the magnetosphere and even on the ground.As an important medium of momentum and energy transport among the solar wind,magnetosphere,and ionosphere,field-aligned currents(FACs)can also be strengthened in storm times.This study shows the responses of FACs in the plasma sheet boundary layer(PSBL)observed by the Magnetospheric Multiscale(MMS)spacecraft in different phases of a large storm that lasted from May 27,2017,to May 29,2017.Most of the FACs were carried by electrons,and several FACs in the storm time also contained sufficient ion FACs.The FAC magnitudes were larger in the storm than in the quiet period,and those in the main phase were the strongest.In this case,the direction of the FACs in the main phase showed no preference for tailward or earthward,whereas the direction of the FACs in the recovery phase was mostly tailward.The results suggest that the FACs in the PSBL are closely related to the storm and could be driven by activities in the tail region,where the energy transported from the solar wind to the magnetosphere is stored and released as the storm is evolving.Thus,the FACs are an important medium of energy transport between the tail and the ionosphere,and the PSBL is a significant magnetosphere–ionosphere coupling region in the nightside.YuanQiang Chen MingYu Wu YangJun Chen SuDong Xiao GuoQiang Wang TieLong Zhang 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,5:0
17Sources and transformations of nitrite in the Amundsen Sea in summer 2019 and 2020 as revealed by nitrogen and oxygen isotopes显示文摘In this study,the nitrogen and oxygen isotope compositions of nitrite in the upper 150 m water column of the Amundsen Sea in the summer of 2019 and 2020 were measured to reveal the distribution and transformation of nitrite in the euphotic zone of the Southern Ocean.We found that primary nitrite maxima(PNMs)are widely present in the Amundsen Sea,where the depth of occurrence deepens from east to west and nitrite concentrations increases.Evidence from dual isotopes suggests that the formation of PNMs in all regions of the Amundsen Sea is dominated by ammonia oxidation.More importantly,the nitrogen and oxygen isotope compositions of nitrite in the Amundsen Sea mixed layer are abnormal,and their depth profiles are mirror symmetrical.Isotopic anomalies exhibit spatial variations,with central surface water having the lowest nitrogen isotope composition(−89.9‰±0.2‰)and western surface water having the highest oxygen isotope composition(63.3‰±0.3‰).Isotopic exchange reaction between nitrate and nitrite is responsible for these isotope anomalies,as both nitrogen and oxygen isotopes have large isotopic fractionation and opposite enrichment effects.This proves that isotopic exchange reaction operates extensively in different regions of the Amundsen Sea.Our study highlights the unique role of dual isotopes of nitrite in deepening the understanding of nitrogen cycle.Further studies on ammonia oxidation and isotopic exchange between nitrate and nitrite are warranted in the future to understand their roles in the nitrogen cycle in the Southern Ocean.Yangjun Chen Jinxu Chen Yi Wang You Jiang Minfang Zheng Yusheng Qiu Min Chen 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,4:0
