1ZmCOL3, a CCT gene represses flowering in maize by interfering with the circadian clock and activating expression of ZmCCT显示文摘Flowering time is a trait vital to the adaptation of flowering plants to different environments.Here, we report that CCT domain genes play an important role in flowering in maize(Zea mays L.).Among the 53 CCT family genes we identified in maize, 28 were located in flowering time quantitative trait locus regions and 15 were significantly associated with flowering time, based on candidate-gene association mapping analysis.Furthermore, a CCT gene named ZmCOL3 was shown to be a repressor of flowering.Overexpressing ZmCOL3 delayed flowering time by approximately 4 d, in either long-day or short-day conditions.The absence of one cytosine in the ZmCOL3 3'UTR and the presence of a 551 bp fragment in the promoter region are likely the causal polymorphisms contributing to the maize adaptation from tropical to temperate regions.We propose a modified model of the maize photoperiod pathway, wherein ZmCOL3 acts as an inhibitor of flowering either by transactivating transcription of ZmCCT, one of the key genes regulating maize flowering, or by interfering with the circadian clock.Minliang Jin Xiangguo Liu Wei Jia Haijun Liu Wenqiang Li Yong Peng Yanfang Du Yuebin Wang Yuejia Yin Xuehai Zhang Qing Liu Min Deng Nan Li Xiyan Cui Dongyun Hao Jianbing Yan 2018Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2018,60,6:14
2Assessing Suitability of Rural Settlements Using an Improved Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution显示文摘Land suitability assessment is a prerequisite phase in land use planning; it guides toward optimal land use by providing information on the opportunities and constraints involved in the use of a given land area. A geographic information system-based procedure, known as rural settlement suitability evaluation(RSSE) using an improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS), was adopted to determine the most suitable area for constructing rural settlements in different geographical locations. Given the distribution and independence of rural settlements, a distinctive evaluation criteria system that differed from that of urban suitability was established by considering the level of rural infrastructure services as well as living and working conditions. The unpredictable mutual interference among evaluation factors has been found in practical works. An improved TOPSIS using Mahalanobis distance was applied to solve the unpredictable correlation among the criteria in a suitability evaluation. Uncertainty and sensitivity analyses obtained via Monte Carlo simulation were performed to examine the robustness of the model. Daye, a resource-based city with rapid economic development, unsatisfied rural development, and geological environmental problems caused by mining, was used as a case study. Results indicate the following findings: 1) The RSSE model using the improved TOPSIS can assess the suitability of rural settlements, and the suitability maps generated using the improved TOPSIS have higher information density than those generated using traditional TOPSIS. The robustness of the model is improved, and the uncertainty is reduced in the suitability results. 2) Highly suitable land is mainly distributed in the northeast of the study area, and the majority of which is cultivated land, thereby leading to tremendous pressure on the loss of cultivated land. 3) Lastly, 12.54% of the constructive expansion permitted zone and 8.36% of the constructive expansion conditionally permitted zone are situated in an unsuitable area, which indicates that the general planning of Daye lacks the necessary verification of suitability evaluation. 3A new merged dataset of global ocean chlorophyll a concentration with higher spatial and temporal coverage显示文摘Understanding the ocean's role in the global carbon cycle and its response to environmental change requires a high spatio-temporal resolution of observation.Merging ocean color data from multiple sources is an effective way to alleviate the limitation of individual ocean color sensors(e.g.,swath width and gaps,cloudy or rainy weather,and sun glint) and to improve the temporal and spatial coverage.Since the missions of Sea-Viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor(Sea Wi FS) and Medium-spectral Resolution Imaging Spectrometer(MERIS) ended on December 11,2010 and May 9,2012,respectively,the number of available ocean color sensors has declined,reducing the benefits of the merged ocean color data with respect to the spatial and temporal coverage.In present work,Medium Resolution Spectral Imager(MERSI)/FY-3 of China is added in merged processing and a new dataset of global ocean chlorophyll a(Chl a) concentration(2000–2015) is generated from the remote sensing reflectance(Rrs(λ)) observations of MERIS,Moderate-resolution imaging spectra-radiometer(MODIS)-AQUA,Visible infrared Imaging Radiometer(VIIRS) and MERSI.These data resources are first merged into unified remote sensing reflectance data,and then Chl a concentration data are inversed using the combined Chl a algorithm of color index-based algorithm(CIA) and OC3.The merged data products show major improvements in spatial and temporal coverage from the addition of MERSI.The average daily coverage of merged products is approximately 24% of the global ocean and increases by approximately 9% when MERSI data are added in the merging process.Sampling frequency(temporal coverage) is greatly improved by combining MERSI data,with the median sampling frequency increasing from 15.6%(57 d/a) to 29.9%(109 d/a).The merged Chl a products herein were validated by in situ measurements and comparing them with the merged products using the same approach except for omitting MERSI and Glob Colour and MEa SUREs merged data.Correlation and relative error between the new merged Chl a products and in situ observation are stable relative to the results of the merged products without the addition of MERSI.Time series of the Chl a concentration anomalies are similar to the merged products without adding MERSI and single sensors.The new merged products agree within approximately 10% of the merged Chl a product from Glob Colour and MEa SUREs.XIAO Yanfang ZHANG Jie CUI Tingwei SUN Ling 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,7:2

5Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti–Ta Composites Prepared Through Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing显示文摘In this study, an innovative approach was used to fabricate Ti–Ta composite biomaterials through cold spray additive manufacturing followed by a diff usion treatment. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated in detail using field emission scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diff raction, 3D X-ray computed tomography, tensile test, nanohardness test and resonance vibration test. The obtained results indicated that the prepared composites have inhomogeneity in their microstructure and composition. A unique microstructure, composed of Ti-rich, Ta-rich and diff usion regions, was evolved in the composites due to incomplete diff usion between Ti and Ta splats. Further, Kirkendall pores were formed in the composites due to uneven diff usion of the two phases(of Ti and Ta) during high-temperature heat treatment. The prepared composites simultaneously showed low elastic modulus and high tensile strength which is required for a good biomaterial. Low elastic modulus was associated with the residual pores and the alloying eff ect of Ta in Ti, while high tensile strength was related to the solid solution strengthening eff ects. 6Clinical and pathological features in 49 elderly patients with meningiomas显示文摘BACKGROUND: As aging in elderly people, their brain tissue has degeneration and brain atrophy of different severity, and the volume of cranial cavity is relatively enlarged, it has greater compensatory ability to the space occupying lesion, and it is difficult to detect the meningioma because it grows to expand slowly, the tumor locates in non-functional region, and there are atypical symptoms and deficiency of localization signs. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinicopathologic features of senile meningiomas. DESIGN: A retrospective analysis. SETTING: Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University. PARTICIPANTS: Forty-nine elderly patients with meningioma were selected from the Department of Neurosurgery, Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from May 1999 to March 2005, including 15 males and 34 females, 60-74 years of age, and they were all diagnosed by CT and MRI. METHODS: The sites of tumors were identified by CT and MRI examinations in all the patients. The tumors were partially or totally resected according to their own conditions. The types of the resected tumor were pathologically observed. The conditions of postoperative recovery were observed after 1, 3 and 6 months, and without new neurological dysfunction or complication was considered as good outcome. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Sites and pathological types of the tumor; ② Postoperative outcomes and complications. RESULTS: All the 49 patients were involved in the analysis of results. ① The tumors had wide distributions with a main location in brain convexity. Among the 49 cases of meningioma, there were 25 cases of fibrocystic type, 12 cases of meningothelial type, 6 cases of psammomatous type, 4 cases of angiomatous type and 2 cases of microcystic type. ② Among the 49 patients, 35 had good outcome, 8 had self-care ability, 4 required care by others, 2 (4.1%) died postoperatively. No long-term complication related to the operation was observed during the follow-up postoperatively. 7Simulation and experimental verification of off-axis fiber Bragg grating bending sensor with high refractive index modulation显示文摘Off-axis FBG simulations were performed in this paper using a finite element method in conjunction with the conformal mapping technique to study the bending sensing characteristics of the off-axis FBG with high index modulation.The refractive index(RI)increase of the grating region is taken into consideration for the mode field simulation.The influences of high RI increase and the offset distance of the grating on the bending sensitivity were analyzed.Off-axis FBGs with different offset distances were fabricated using femtosecond laser with phase mask technique in standard single-mode fiber.The simulation results were verified by the experiment.A bending sensitivity of 0.055 d B/m^(-1) was achieved with an offset distance of 4μm.The simulation and experiment results suggest that the grating offset distance has a greater influence on the sensitivity of the off-axis FBG with high RI modulation than that with low RI modulation.The proposed sensor structure and simulation results can provide suggestion for the design and processing of off-axis FBG bending sensors.CUI Wei ZHOU Yanfang YAN Zhonghua GUO Junqi YUE Yiting CHEN Hao 2022Optoelectronics Letters2022,18,4:1
8Alkyl dimethyl betaine activates the low-temperature collection capacity of sodium oleate for scheelite显示文摘The impact of alkyl dimethyl betaine (ADB) on the collection capacity of sodium oleate (NaOl) at low temperatures was evaluated using flotation tests at various scales. The low-temperature synergistic mechanism of ADB and NaOl was explored by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, surface tension measurement, foam performance test, and flotation reagent size measurement.The flotation tests revealed that the collector mixed with octadecyl dimethyl betaine (ODB) and NaOl in a mass ratio of 4:96 exhibited the highest collection capacity. The combined collector could increase the scheelite recovery by 3.48% at low temperatures of 8–12℃. This is particularly relevant in the Luanchuan area, which has the largest scheelite concentrate output in China. The results confirmed that ODB enhanced the collection capability of NaOl by improving the dispersion and foaming performance. 9SPEECH ENHANCEMENT USING HARMONICS REGENERATION BASED ON MULTIBAND EXCITATION显示文摘This paper proposes an algorithm that adopts the harmonic regeneration as post-processing to improve the performance of speech enhancement using traditional Short Time Spectral Amplitude(STSA).The proposed algorithm aims to alleviate the distortion of the high harmonics of enhanced speech via the traditional STSA,and consequently improves the speech quality.We first detect the pitch,or fundamental frequency,of the enhanced speech via the traditional STSA,and then,divide the whole spectrum into multiple sub-bands which center on each harmonic.After that,a series of specially designed windows centered on each harmonic are applied to all the sub-bands,in order to redistribute the energy in the sub-bands.The results of experiment demonstrate that the method has both theo-retical and practical basis.Zhang Yanfang Tang Kun Cui Huijuan 2011Journal of Electronics(China)2011,28,4:0

13High-efficiency CO_(2) sequestration through direct aqueous carbonation of carbide slag: determination of carbonation reaction and optimization of operation parameters显示文摘Under the dual-carbon target, CO_(2) mineralization through solid wastes presents a mutually beneficial approach for permanent carbon emission reduction at a low material cost, while also enabling the resource utilization of these wastes. However, despite its potential, a comprehensive understanding about the effect of industrial solid waste properties and operating parameters on the carbonation process, and the mechanism of direct aqueous carbonation is still lacking. A series of experiments were conducted to compare the carbonation performance of fly ash, steel slag, and carbide slag. Subsequently, CO_(2) mineralization by carbide slag was systematically studied under various operating parameters due to its high CO_(2) sequestration capacity. Results showed the reactivity of CaO and Ca(OH)2 was higher than that of CaO·SiO_(2) and 2CaO·SiO_(2). Carbide slag demonstrated a sequestration capacity of 610.8 g CO_(2)/kg and carbonation efficiency ζCa of 62.04% under the conditions of 65 ℃, 1.5 MPa initial CO_(2) pressure, 15 mL/g liquid-to-solid ratio, and 200 r/min stirring speed. Moreover, the formation of carbonates was confirmed through XRD, SEM-EDS, TG, and FTIR. A mechanism analysis revealed that initially, the rate of the carbonation process was primarily controlled by the mass transfer of CO_(2) in the gas–liquid interface. However, the rate-determining step gradually shifted to the mass transfer of Ca2+ in the solid–liquid interface as the reaction time increased. 15Unprecedent green macroalgae bloom:mechanism and implication to disaster prediction and prevention显示文摘Green macroalgae bloom(GMB),with the dominant species of Ulva prolifera,has regularly occurred since 2007 along the China coast.Although disaster prevention and control achieved favorable results in 2020,the satellite-observed GMB annual maximum coverage(AMC)rebounded sharply in 2021 to an unprecedented level.The reasons for this rebound and the significant interannual variability over past 15 years are still open questions.Here,by using long-term time-series(2007-2022)optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite observations(1000+scenes),meteorological data and water quality statistics,the mechanism analysis was performed by exploring effects from natural factors and human activities.Two key determinants for AMC are successfully identified from numerous potential factors which are the macroalgae distribution in a key area(the Subei Shoal)during a critical period(from April to May 20)and the nutrient availability.Furthermore,by using these two parameters,a novel model for AMC prediction(R^(2)=0.87,p<0.01)is proposed and independently validated,which can reasonably explain the significant interannual variability(2014-2021)and agree well with the latest observation in 2022(percentage difference 12%).Finally,suggestions are proposed for future disaster prevention and alleviation.This work may aid future bloom prediction and management measure optimization.Mengmeng Cao Xuyan Li Tingwei Cui Xinliang Pan Yan Li Yanlong Chen Ning Wang Yanfang Xiao Xingai Song Yuzhu Xu Runa A Bing Mu Song Qing Rongjie Liu Wenjing Zhao Yuhai Bao Jie Zhang Lan Wei 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:0
16RSPSSL:A novel high-fidelity Raman spectral preprocessing scheme to enhance biomedical applications and chemical resolution visualization显示文摘Raman spectroscopy has tremendous potential for material analysis with its molecular fingerprinting capability in many branches of science and technology.It is also an emerging omics technique for metabolic profiling to shape precision medicine.However,precisely attributing vibration peaks coupled with specific environmental,instrumental,and specimen noise is problematic.Intelligent Raman spectral preprocessing to remove statistical bias noise and sample-related errors should provide a powerful tool for valuable information extraction.Here,we propose a novel Raman spectral preprocessing scheme based on self-supervised learning(RSPSSL)with high capacity and spectral fidelity.It can preprocess arbitrary Raman spectra without further training at a speed of~1900 spectra per second without human interference.The experimental data preprocessing trial demonstrated its excellent capacity and signal fidelity with an 88%reduction in root mean square error and a 60%reduction in infinite norm({L}_{{\infty}})compared to established techniques.With this advantage,it remarkably enhanced various biomedical applications with a 400%accuracy elevation(ΔAUC)in cancer diagnosis,an average 38%(few-shot)and 242%accuracy improvement in paraquat concentration prediction,and unsealed the chemical resolution of biomedical hyperspectral images,especially in the spectral fingerprint region.It precisely preprocessed various Raman spectra from different spectroscopy devices,laboratories,and diverse applications.This scheme will enable biomedical mechanism screening with the label-free volumetric molecular imaging tool on organism and disease metabolomics profiling with a scenario of high throughput,cross-device,various analyte complexity,and diverse applications.Jiaqi Hu Gina Jinna Chen Chenlong Xue Pei Liang Yanqun Xiang Chuanlun Zhang Xiaokeng Chi Guoying Liu Yanfang Ye Dongyu Cui De Zhang Xiaojun yu Hong Dang Wen Zhang Junfan Chen Quan Tang Penglai Guo Ho-Pui Ho Yuchao Li Longqing Cong Perry Ping Shum 2024Light(Science & Applications)2024,13,2:0
