2H7N9 virus infection triggers lethal cytokine storm by activating gasdermin E-mediated pyroptosis of lung alveolar epithelial cells显示文摘The H7N9 influenza virus emerged in China in 2013,causing more than 1560 human infections,39% of which were fatal.A ‘cytokine storm’ in the lungs of H7N9 patients has been linked to a poor prognosis and death;however,the underlying mechanism that triggers the cytokine storm is unknown.Here,we found that efficient replication of the H7N9 virus in mouse lungs activates gasdermin E(GSDME)-mediated pyroptosis in alveolar epithelial cells,and that the released cytosolic contents then trigger a cytokine storm.Knockout of Gsdme switched the manner of death of A549 and human primary alveolar epithelial cells from pyroptosis to apoptosis upon H7N9 virus infection,and Gsdme knockout mice survived H7N9 virus lethal infection.Our findings reveal that GSDME activation is a key and unique mechanism for the pulmonary cytokine storm and lethal outcome of H7N9 virus infection and thus opens a new door for the development of antivirals against the H7N9 virus.Xiaopeng Wan Jiqing Li Yupeng Wang Xiaofei Yu Xijun He Jianzhong Shi Guohua Deng Xianying Zeng Guobin Tian Yanbing Li Yongping Jiang Yuntao Guan Chengjun Li Feng Shao Hualan Chen 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:3
3A precision medicine approach to managing 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia显示文摘In December 2019,several patients with pneumonia of an unknown cause were detected in Wuhan,China.On 7 January 2020,the causal organism was identified as a new coronavirus,later named as the 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV).Genome sequencing found the genetic sequence of 2019-nCoV homologous to that of severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus.As of 29 January 2020,the virus had been diagnosed in more than 7000 patients in China and 77 patients in other countries.It is reported that both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with 2019-nCoV can play a role in disease transmission via airborne and contact.This finding has caused a great concern about the prevention of illness spread.The clinical features of the infection are not specific and are often indistinguishable from those of other respiratory infections,making it difficult to diagnose.Given that the virus has a strong ability to spread between individuals,it is of top priority to identify potential or suspected patients as soon as possible—or the virus may cause a serious pandemic.Therefore,a precision medicine approach to managing this disease is urgently needed for detecting and controlling the spread of the virus.In this article,we present such an approach to managing 2019-nCoV-related pneumonia based on the unique traits of the virus recently revealed and on our experience with coronaviruses at West China Hospital in Chengdu,China.Minjin Wang Yanbing Zhou Zhiyong Zong Zongan Liang Yu Cao Hong Tang Bin Song Zixing Huang Yan Kang Ping Feng Binwu Ying Weimin Li 2020Precision Clinical Medicine2020,3,1:3

5Orbital ordering and fluctuations in a kagome superconductor CsV_(3)Sb_(5)显示文摘Recently,competing electronic instabilities,including superconductivity and density-wave-like order,have been discovered in vanadium-based kagome metals AV_(3)Sb_(5)(A=K,Rb,Cs)with a nontrivial band topology.This finding stimulates considerable interest to study the interplay of these competing electronic orders and possible exotic excitations in the superconducting state.Here,we performed51V and133Cs nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)measurements on a CsV_(3)Sb_(5)single crystal to clarify the nature of density-wave-like transition in these kagome superconductors.A first-order structural transition is unambiguously revealed below T_(s)~94 K by observing the sudden splitting of Knight shift in^(51)V NMR spectrum.Moreover,combined with^(133)Cs NMR spectrum,the present result confirms a three-dimensional structural modulation.By further analyzing the anisotropy of Knight shift and 1/T_(1)T at^(51)V nuclei,we proposed that the orbital order is the primary electronic order induced by the firstorder structural transition,which is supported by further analysis on electric field gradient at^(51)V nuclei.In addition,the evidence for possible orbital fluctuations is also revealed above T_(s).The present work sheds light on a rich orbital physics in kagome superconductors AV_(3)Sb_(5).DianWu Song LiXuan Zheng FangHang Yu Jian Li LinPeng Nie Min Shan Dan Zhao ShunJiao Li BaoLei Kang ZhiMian Wu YanBing Zhou KuangLv Sun Kai Liu XiGang Luo ZhenYu Wang JianJun Ying XianGang Wan Tao Wu XianHui Chen 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,4:2
6Microsurgical decompression of the median nerves for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy in the upper limbs: A 21-month follow-up显示文摘BACKGROUND: Peripheral nerve injured by abnormal glucose metabolism is compressed, which is an important etiological factor of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Microsurgical decompression of peripheral nerve maybe effectively releases the symptoms of DPN. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the curative effects of microsurgical decompression of median nerves for treatment of DPN in upper limbs. DESIGN: Case-follow up observation. SETTING: Department of Orthopaedics, Department of Neurosurgery, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Ministry of Health. PARTICIPANTS: Twelve patients with DPN in upper limbs (19 hands) who received treatment in the Department of Orthopaedics, Department of Neurosurgery, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Ministry of Public Health between March 2004 and July 2006 were involved in this experiment. The involved patients, 5 male and 7 female, were aged 44 to 77 years, with DPN course of 6 months to 16 years. They all met 1999 WHO diabetic diagnosis criteria. Both two hands had symptom in 7 patients, and only one hand had symptom in 5 patients. Informed consents of detected items were obtained from all the patients, who also received 21 months of follow-up treatment. METHODS: ①Operation was carried out under the anesthetic status of brachial plexus. Under an operating microscope, transverse carpal ligament was exposed. Subsequently, transverse carpal ligament, forearm superficial fascia and palmar aponeurosis were fully liberated, and then part of them was cut off. Connective tissue around median nerve, superficial flexor muscle of fingers, radial flexor, palmaris longus and other flexor tendons were completely loosened. Finally, epineurium was opened with microinstrument for neurolysis. After tourniquet was loosened, and bipolar coagulator was used to stop bleeding, and the incision was closed. ② In postoperative 21 months, the subjective symptom, two-point discrimination (The smallest distance of two normal points was 3 to 6 mm), nerve conduction velocity and action potential amplitude (short abductor muscle of thumb end Lat < 4.5 ms; Motor nerve conduction velocity of forearm > 50 m/s), etc. of all the patients were followed up. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The objective evaluation and long-term follow up of curative effect of microsurgical decompression of median nerves for treatment of DPN in upper limbs. RESULTS: Twelve patients with DPN in upper limbs participated in the final analysis. ① After operation, numbness and pain symptom releasing 100% were found in 19 hands of 12 patients with DPN. During follow up, numbness and recrudescent pain symptom were found in one hand (5%,1/19). ②Postoperatively, index finger two point discrimination in 15 (94%,15/16)hands recovered to normal. ③ nerve conduction velocity and action potential amplitude improved completely . ④ Two hands (2/19,10%)had poor healing at incision, and they late healed at postoperative 1 and 1.5 months, respectively. 7Study on Temperature Modulation Techniques for Micro Gas Sensors显示文摘The sensitivity and selectivity of gas sensors are related with not only sensing material,but also their operating temperatures.Applying this property,temperature modulation technique has been proposed to improve the selectivity of gas sensors.With a newly developed alumina based micro gas sensor,the sensitivity to CO and CH_4 at different operating temperatures was investigated.By modulating the temperature of the sensor at pulse and sine wave modes with different frequencies and amplitudes,the dynamic responses of the sensor were measured and processed.Results show that the modulating waveshape plays an important role in the improvement of selectivity,while the influence of frequency is small at the suitable sampling frequency in the range of 25 mHz~200 mHz.Guangfen Wei Zhenan Tang Hongquan Zhang Yanbing Xue Jun Yu 2006稀有金属材料与工程2006,35,A03:1
8Detecting micro-blog user interest communities through the integration of explicit user relationship and implicit topic relations显示文摘In order to effectively utilize the explicit user relationship and implicit topic relations for the detection of micro-blog user interest communities, a micro-blog user interest community(MUIC) detection approach is proposed. First, through the analysis of the follow relationship between users, we have defined three types of such relationships to construct the user follow-ship network. Second, taking the semantic correlation between user tags into account, we construct the user interest feature vectors based on the concept of feature mapping to build a user tag based interest relationship network. Third, user behaviors, such as reposting, commenting, replying, and receiving comments from others, are able to provide certain guidance for the extraction of micro-blog topics. Hence, we propose to integrate the four mentioned user behaviors that are considered to provide guidance information for the traditional latent Dirichlet allocation(LDA) model. Thereby, in addition to the construction of a topic-based interest relationship network, a guided topic model can be built to extract the topics in which the user is interested. Finally, with the integration of the afore-mentioned three types of relationship network, a micro-blog user interest relationship network can be created. Meanwhile, we propose a MUIC detection algorithm based on the contribution of the neighboring nodes. 10Development of a double antibodies sandwich ELISA for the detection of avian leukosis virus subgroup J based on monoclonal antibodies against gp85显示文摘Avian leukosis virus(ALV)belongs to the genus Alpharetrovirus of the family Retroviridae and can cause various types of neoplastic diseases,even mortality in infected chickens[1].ALV is categorized into seven subgroups,including A,B,C,D,E,J,and K,based on the pathogenicity and antibody neutralization characteristics[2].The subgroup E is endogenous and transmitted by Mendelian inheritance.The subgroups A,B,C,D,J,and K are exogenous and oncogenic,transmitted horizontally and vertically and caused different pathological lesions[3].Among them,subgroups A and B were most common in commercial poultry and subgroup J is the major cause for myeloid leukosis and nephromas in broilers.In 1980,ALV subgroup J(ALV-J)was first isolated and identified from infected broilers in Britain.It caused significant economic losses in the poultry industry because of increased myelocytomas and other tumors[4].In China,ALV-J was first detected in broilers in 1999 and,subsequently,spread to other chicken types.Compared to other ALV subgroups,ALV-J has been a serious issue in China poultry industry since 2007.Currently,there is no effective vaccine and drugs against ALV-J infection;thus,early detection and elimination of ALV-positive breeder chickens are key measures to block vertical and horizontal ALV-J transmission.Given the importance of ALV to the poultry industry,many ALV detection methods,including virus isolation,immunofluorescence assays,neutralization tests,reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(PCR)or real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR-based molecular diagnosis ways,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA)have been developed.Among them,ELISA is widely used for its efficiency,convenience,and sensitivity.Yun et al.[5]developed an antigen-capture ELISA for the detection of ALV based on highly conserved antigen p27.Yu et al.[6]exploited a colloidal gold test strip specific for the detection of ALV p27 antigen.These antigen capture-based serological detection methods share obviously simple,accurate,and rapid advantages in comparison with conventional time-consuming methods of indirect immunofluorescence assay or neutralization tests.However,it is difficult to identify different subgroups of ALV using p27-coated antibodies.Lili Cao Panpan Zhao He Ding Nan Wang Xue Zhang Shuxian Yuan Hang Dong Yanbing Guo Xinhua Yao Qinlei Yu Hongze Shao Pengtao Gong 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,10:1

19Investigation on the radioactivity levels of seawater,sediments,and biota in Daya Bay,China显示文摘Objective:To investigate the radioactivity levels of seawater,sediments,and biota in the Daya Bay sea area,China,in order to establish the radioactivity baseline values,and provide basic data for the assessment of potential radiological risks that might result from the application of nuclear technology or human activities.Methods:Samples of seawater,sediments,and biota were collected from the Daya Bay sea area and analyzed.Their radioactivity baseline data were then compared with information from other regions in China and around the world reported in related literature.Results:For the seawater samples,the activity concentrations of natural radionuclide ^(40)K were 9.9-10.4 Bq/L,while ^(238)U,226Ra,^(210)Pb,^(137)Cs,and ^(110)Ag^(m) were below the minimum detectable activity(MDA).Regarding the sediment samples,the activity concentrations of ^(238)U,^(228)Ra,^(226)Ra,^(210)Pb,^(40)K,and ^(137)Cs were 38.1-40.4,49.1-53.7,32.6-38.6,59-95,590-650,and 0.48-0.88 Bq/(kg dry weight),respectively,while ^(110)Agm was below the MDA.For the marine shrimps in the biota samples,the activity concentrations of ^(228)Ra,^(226)Ra,^(40)K,and ^(137)Cs were 1.14-2.75,0.17-0.43,63-76,and 0.038-0.045 Bq/(kg wet weight),respectively,while ^(238)U,^(210)Pb,and ^(110)Agm were all below the MDA.Furthermore,for the marine fishes in the biota samples,the activity concentrations of ^(228)Ra,^(226)Ra,^(210)Pb,^(40)K,and ^(137)Cs were 2.1-19.7,0.32-3.78,<2.2-2.8,59-70,and<0.007-0.026 Bq/(kg wet weight),respectively,while ^(238)U and ^(110)Ag^(m) were all below the MDA.^(228)Ra was found to be concentrated in Osteomugil ophuyseni with 19.7 Bq/(kg wet weight).Conclusions:The radioactivity levels of seawater and marine sediments in the Daya Bay sea area are within the range of the normal background values.Osteomugil ophuyseni exhibited higher concentrations of ^(228)Ra than other species in this study,while the other species in the biota show no significant difference in the radioactivity levels from data in relevant literature.Fan Cui Honghui Huang Yi Shen Zhan Tan Pengxiang Qu Ming Dai Hongwei Yu Weixu Huang Zixiang Wu Huifeng Chen Weizhen Guo Yuxin Jia Yanbing Liu 2023Radiation Medicine and Protection2023,4,3:0
20Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Formaldehyde Adsorption and Diffusion in Single-Wall Carbon Nanotube显示文摘For gas sensor application,adsorption and diffusion of formaldehyde gas in single-wall carbon nanotube were investigated by using molecular dynamics simulation.The conformations of formaldehyde molecule adsorbed in carbon nanotube were optimized according to principle of minimum energy.The axis of conformation is parallel to the axis of carbon nanotube and about 0.3 nm~0.4 nm away from carbon nanotube wall.The conformation,which is different from that of the formaldehyde molecule in the gas-phase,rotates around carbon nanotube axis.The adsorption energy and diffusivity of formaldehyde molecule in single-wall carbon nanotube is of-56.2 kJ/mol and of 0.2×10^(-4) cm^2/s,respectively.Pin Lv Zhenan Tang Jun Yu Yanbing Xue 2006稀有金属材料与工程2006,35,A03:0
