1Effect of modified Taohongsiwu decoction on patients with chemotherapy-induced hand-foot syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of the Traditional Chinese Medicine,modified Taohongsiwu decoction,versus pyridoxine on patients with hand-foot syndrome(HFS)from capecitabine,sorafenib,and gefitinib chemotherapy for gastric,lung,breast,colon,or rectal cancer.Also,to compare quality of life of patients in each group.METHODS:Patients were assigned randomly to group A or B.Group A was given modifiedTaohongsiwu decoction to soak hands and feet for 30 min,once daily.Group B was given 100 mg pyridoxine orally,twice daily.After a 2-week treatment,thetherapeutic effect was assessed by observing three major symptoms,including pain,ulceration,and muscular atrophy.This was assessed with the HFS-14 questionnaire.RESULTS:Significant differences were observed between the two groups in pain relief,and improvement of daily life,walking,and interpersonal communication(P<0.01).No significant differences in driving ability or interpersonal relationships were found.After 2 weeks,the effective rate was 88.3%in group A,which was significantly higher than the50%in group B(P=0.00).CONCLUSION:Modified Taohongsiwu decoction is effective in the treatment of patients with HFS.It improves patients'quality of life according to the HFS-14.Changlin Zhao Jia Chen Bin Yu Xianlin Wu Congqi Dai Chang Zhou Xiaoyin Chen 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1:18
2Genetic characterization and linkage disequilibrium mapping of resistance to gray leaf spot in maize(Zea mays L.)显示文摘Gray leaf spot(GLS),caused by Cercospora zeae-maydis,is an important foliar disease of maize(Zea mays L.)worldwide,resistance to which is controlled by multiple quantitative trait loci(QTL).To gain insights into the genetic architecture underlying the resistance to this disease,an association mapping population consisting of 161 inbred lines was evaluated for resistance to GLS in a plant pathology nursery at Shenyang in 2010 and 2011.Subsequently,a genome-wide association study,using 41,101 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),identified 51 SNPs significantly(P<0.001)associated with GLS resistance,which could be converted into 31 QTL.In addition,three candidate genes related to plant defense were identified,including nucleotidebinding-site/leucine-rich repeat,receptor-like kinase genes similar to those involved in basal defense.Two genic SNPs,PZE-103142893 and PZE-109119001,associated with GLS resistance in chromosome bins 3.07 and 9.07,can be used for marker-assisted selection(MAS)of GLS resistance.These results provide an important resource for developing molecular markers closely linked with the target trait,enhancing breeding efficiency.Liyu Shi Xiangling Lv Jianfeng Weng Hanyong Zhu Changlin Liu Zhuanfang Hao Yu Zhou Degui Zhang Mingshun Li Xiaoke Ci Xinhai Li Shihuang Zhang 2014The Crop Journal2014,2,Z1:9

4Preparation,characterization and photocatalytic performance of Mo-doped ZnO photocatalysts显示文摘A series of Mo-doped ZnO photocatalysts with different Mo-dopant concentrations have been prepared by a grinding-calcination method.The structure of these photocatalysts was characterized by a variety of methods,including N 2 physical adsorption,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy,photoluminescence(PL) emission spectroscopy,and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS).It was found that Mo 6+ could enter into the crystal lattice of ZnO due to the radius of Mo 6+(0.065 nm) being smaller than that of Zn 2+(0.083 nm).XRD results indicated that Mo 6+ suppressed the growth of ZnO crystals.The FT-IR spectroscopy results showed that the ZnO with 2 wt.% Mo-doping has a higher level of surface hydroxyl groups than pure ZnO.PL spectroscopy indicated that ZnO with 2 wt.% Mo-doping also exhibited the largest reduction in the intensity of the emission peak at 390 nm caused by the recombination of photogenerated hole-electron pairs.The activities of the Mo-doped ZnO photocatalysts were investigated in the photocatalytic degradation of acid orange II under UV light(λ = 365 nm) irradiation.It was found that ZnO with 2 wt.% Mo-doping showed much higher photocatalytic activity and stability than pure ZnO.The high photocatalytic performance of the Mo-doped ZnO can be attributed to a great improvement in the surface properties of ZnO,higher crystallinity and lower recombination rate of photogenerated hole-electron(e-/h+) pairs.Moreover,the undoped Mo species may exist in the form of MoO3 and form MoO3 /ZnO heterojunctions which further favors the separation of e-/h+ pairs.YU ChangLin YANG Kai SHU Qing YU Jimmy C CAO FangFang LI Xin ZHOU XiaoChun 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:8
5Additive effects of alkaline-earth metals and nickel on the performance of Co/γ-Al_2O_3 in methane catalytic partial oxidation显示文摘Nano-sized γ-alumina (γ-Al2O3) was first prepared by a precipitation method. Then, active component of cobalt and a series of alkaline- earth metal promoters or nickel (Ni) with different contents were loaded on the γ-Al2O3 support. The catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetry analysis (TGA). The activity and selectivity of the catalysts in catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) of methane have been compared with Co/γ-Al2O3, and it is found that the catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability are enhanced by the addition of alkaline-earth metals and nickel. The optimal loadings of strontium (Sr) and Ni were 6 and 4 wt%, respectively. 6La/Ce-codoped Bi_2O_3 composite photocatalysts with high photocatalytic performance in removal of high concentration dye显示文摘A series of La/Ce-codoped Bi_2O_3 composite photocatalysts were fabricated via hydrothermal–calcination process. The as-prepared products were intensively characterized by some physicochemical characterizations like N_2 physical adsorption, X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), UV–Vis diffuse reflectance(UV–Vis DRS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),photoelectrochemical measurements, and photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy. The characterization results indicated that La and Ce doping induced obvious crystal phase transformation in Bi_2O_3, from monoclinic to tetragonal phase. La and Ce codoping also gave rise to the obvious synergetic effects, e.g., the lattice contraction of Bi_2O_3, the decrease of crystal size and the increase of surface area. The photocatalytic performance of the prepared catalysts was evaluated by removal of dye acid orange II with high concentration under visible light irradiation. Results showed that La/Ce-codoped Bi_2O_3 displayed much higher photocatalytic performance than that of bare Bi_2O_3, single La or Ce doped Bi_2O_3 samples. 7Controlled preparation of P-doped g-C3N4 nanosheets for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production显示文摘Hydrogen production by photolysis of water by sunlight is an environmentally-friendly preparation technology for renewable energy.Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4),despite with obvious catalytic effect,is still unsatisfactory for hydrogen production.In this work,phosphorus element is incorporated to tune g-C3N4's property through calcinating the mixture of g-C3N4 and Na H2PO2,sacrificial agent and co-catalyst also been supplied to help efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production.Phosphorus(P)doped g-C3N4 samples(PCN-S)were prepared,and their catalytic properties were studied.X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and ultraviolet diffuse reflection(UV-DRS)were used to study their structures and morphologies.The results show that the reaction rate of PCN-S is 318μmol·h^-1·g^-1,which is 2.98 times as high as pure carbon nitride nanosheets(CN)can do.Our study paves a new avenue,which is simple,environment-friendly and sustainable,to synthesize highly efficient P doping g-C3N4 nanosheets for solar energy conversion.Qiachun Lin Zesheng Li Tingjian Lin Bolin Li Xichun Liao Huiqing Yu Changlin Yu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,10:6
8A Lamellar Ceria Structure with Encapsulated Platinum Nanoparticles显示文摘A novel lamellar feather-like CeO_(2) structure has been fabricated by using a triblock copolymer as the structure-directing agent.This material was characterized in detail by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and BET surface area measurements.Compared with conventional spherical shaped ceria prepared by ammonia gelation,the ceria feathers have superior ability to support nanosized platinum particles due to their special structure.The“skeletons”of ceria feathers can serve as an ideal host matrix to anchor the platinum particles.Furthermore,the inter-crossing pattern of the“skeletons”also acts as a partition to separate platinum particles,allowing the Pt nanoparticles(average diameter~6 nm)to be highly dispersed in the structure.The Pt/feather-like CeO_(2) catalyst exhibits high activity in the water gas shift reaction.Angelo C.Mak Changlin Yu Jimmy C.Yu Zhendong Zhang Chunman Ho 2008Nano Research2008,1,6:5
9Arterial relaxation is coupled to inhibition of mitochondrial fission in arterial smooth muscle cells:comparison of vasorelaxant effects of verapamil and phentolamine显示文摘Mitochondria are morphologically dynamic organelles which undergo fission and fusion processes. Our previous study found that arterial constriction was always accompanied by increased mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells, whereas inhibition of mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells was associated with arterial relaxation. Here, we used the typical vasorelaxants, verapamil and phentolamine, to further confirm the coupling between arterial constriction and mitochondrial fission in rat aorta. Results showed that phentolamine but not verapamil induced vasorelaxation in phenylephrine(PE)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Verapamil, but not phentolamine, induced vasorelaxation in high K^+(KPSS)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Pre-treatment with phentolamine prevented PEbut not KPSS-induced aorta constriction and pre-treatment with verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSSinduced aorta constriction. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results showed that verapamil but not phentolamine inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smooth muscle cells,and verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smoothmuscle cells. Verapamil inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells(A10). 10Experimental and mechanistic understanding of photo-oxidation of methanol catalyzed by CuO/TiO2-spindle nanocomposite:Oxygen vacancy engineering显示文摘We report experimental and mechanistic understanding of methanol oxidation to produce methyl formate using CuO/Ti02-spindle composite as a promising photocatalyst under mild conditions with over 97%conversion and 83%selectivity.The catalysts are obtained via precise depositing of CuO nanoclusters(size:~3.5 nm)at the{101}facet of the TiO2 to optimally tune exciton recombination through oxygen vacancies generation,evidenced by photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy measurements.The turnover frequency(TOF)and the apparent quantum efficiency(AQE)of the 7%CuO/TiO2-spindle composites reach up to 23.8 molmethanol·gcat^-1·h^-1 and 55.2%at 25℃,respectively,which are substantially higher than these previously reported photocatalysts.Further,the in-situ attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy analysis reveals that the methanol oxidation most likely takes place through the conversion of adsorbed methoxy(CH30^*)to formaldehyde(CHO^*)intermediate,a subject of major debate for a long time.The adsorbed formaldehyde(CHO^*)thus produced reacts with another CH30^*species in its close proximity to form the final product of methyl formate.Results of this study provide insights into the reaction mechanism,and offer guidelines to systematically develop and apply photocatalysts for methanol conversion and related reactions via surface engineering.Quanquan Shi Zhaoxian Qin Changlin Yu Ammara Waheed Hui Xu Yong Gao Hadi Abroshan Gao Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:3
11Sugars promote graft union development in the heterograft of cucumber onto pumpkin显示文摘The use of heterografts is widely applied for the production of several important commercial crops,but the molecular mechanism of graft union formation remains poorly understood.Here,cucumber grafted onto pumpkin was used to study graft union development,and genome-wide tempo-spatial gene expression at the graft interface was comprehensively investigated.Histological analysis suggested that resumption of the rootstock growth occurred after both phloem and xylem reconnection,and the scion showed evident callus production compared with the rootstock 3 days after grafting.Consistently,transcriptome data revealed specific responses between the scion and rootstock in the expression of genes related to cambium development,the cell cycle,and sugar metabolism during both vascular reconnection and healing,indicating distinct mechanisms.Additionally,lower levels of sugars and significantly changed sugar enzyme activities at the graft junction were observed during vascular reconnection.Next,we found that the healing process of grafted etiolated seedlings was significantly delayed,and graft success,xylem reconnection,and the growth of grafted plants were enhanced by exogenous glucose.This demonstrates that graft union formation requires the correct sugar content.Furthermore,we also found that graft union formation was delayed with a lower energy charge by the target of rapamycin(TOR)inhibitor AZD-8055,and xylem reconnection and the growth of grafted plants were enhanced under AZD-8055 with exogenous glucose treatment.Taken together,our results reveal that sugars play a positive role in graft union formation by promoting the growth of cucumber/pumpkin and provide useful information for understanding graft union healing and the application of heterografting in the future.Li Miao Qing Li Tian-shu Sun Sen Chai Changlin Wang Longqiang Bai Mintao Sun Yansu Li Xing Qin Zhonghua Zhang Xianchang Yu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3
