Channel noise-induced phase transition of spiral wave in networks of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons显示文摘The phase transition of spiral waves in networks of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons induced by channel noise is investigated in detail. All neurons in the networks are coupled with small-world connections, and the results are compared with the case for regular networks,in which all neurons are completely coupled with nearest-neighbor connections.A statistical variable is defined to study the collective behavior and phase transition of the spiral wave due to the channel noise and topology of the network. The effect of small-world connection networks is described by local regular networks and long-range connection with certain probability p.The numerical results confirm that (1) a stable rotating spiral wave can be developed and maintain robust with low p,where the breakup of the spiral wave and turbulence result from increasing the probability p to a certain threshold;(2) appropriate intensity of the optimized channel noise can develop a spiral wave among turbulent states in small-world connection networks of H-H neurons;and (3) regular connection networks are more robust to channel noise than small-world connection networks.A spiral wave in a small-world network encounters instability more easily as the membrane temperature is increased to a certain high threshold.MA Jun WU Ying YING HePing JIA Ya 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,2:11
Constraining the focal mechanism of the Lushan earthquake with observations of the Earth's free oscillations显示文摘The amplitudes of the Earth's free oscillations have a close relationship to earthquake focal mechanisms. Focal mechanisms of large earthquakes can be well analyzed and constrained with observations of long period free oscillations. Although the 2013 Lushan earthquake was only moderately sized, observable spherical normal modes were excited and clearly observed by a superconductive gravimeter and a broadband seismometer. We compare observed free oscillations with synthetic normal modes corresponding to four different focal mechanisms for the Lushan earthquake. The results show that source parameters can be analyzed and constrained by spherical normal modes in a 2.3–5 mHz frequency band. The scalar seismic moment M0 has a major influence on the amplitudes of free oscillations; additionally, the strike, dip, rake and depth of the hypocenter have minor influences. We found that the synthetic modes corresponding to the focal mechanism determined by the Global Centroid Moment Tensor show agreement to the observed modes, suggesting that earthquake magnitudes predicted in this way can readily reflect the total energy released by the earthquake. The scalar seismic moment obtained by far-field body wave inversion is significantly underestimated. Focal mechanism solutions can be improved by joint inversion of far- and near-field data.JIANG Ying HU XiaoGang LIU ChengLi SUN HePing 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,9:8
Detecting the breakup of spiral waves in small-world networks of neurons due to channel block显示文摘The breakup of a spiral wave by blockade of sodium and potassium channels in a small-world network of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons is investigated in detail. The influence of ion channel block in poisoned excitable membrane patches of a certain size is measured,by varying channel noise and channel densities resulting from the change in conductance,For example, tetraethylammonium is known to cause a block(poisoning) of potassium channels, while tetrodotoxin blocks sodium channels. We observed the occurrence of spiral waves, which are ordered waves believed to play an important role in facilitating the propagation of electric signals across quiescent regions of the brain. In this paper, the effect of channel block was measured by the factors xK and xNa,which represent the ratios of unblocked,or active, ion channels,to the overall number of potassium or sodium ion channels, respectively. To quantify these observations,we use a simple but robust synchronization measure, which succinctly captures the transition from spiral waves to other collective states, such as broken segments resulting from the breakup of the spiral wave. The critical thresholds of channel block can be inferred from the abrupt changes occurring in plots of the synchronization measure against different values of xK and xNa.Notably, small synchronization factors can be tightly associated with states where the formation of spiral waves is robust to mild channel block.MA Jun HUANG Long YING HePing PU ZhongSheng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,17:4
Emergence of target waves in neuronal networks due to diverse forcing currents显示文摘The electric activities of neurons could be changed when ion channel block occurs in the neurons.External forcing currents with diversity are imposed on the regular network of Hodgkin-Huxley(HH) neuron, and target waves are induced to occupy the network. The forcing current I1 is imposed on neurons in a local region with m 0 ×m 0 nodes in the network, neurons in other nodes are imposed with another forcing current I2.Target wave could be developed to occupy the network when the gradient forcing current(I1-I2) exceeds certain threshold, and the formation of target wave is independent of the selection of boundary condition. It is also found that the developed target wave can decrease the negative effect of ion channel block and suppress the spiral wave, and thus channel noise is also considered. The potential mechanism of formation of target wave could be that the gradient forcing current(I1-I2) generates quasi-periodical signal in local area, and the propagation of quasi-periodical signal induces target-like wave due to mutual coupling among neurons in the network.MA Jun WANG ChunNi YING HePing WU Ying CHU RunTong 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:4

Mid-infrared photon counting and resolving via efficient frequency upconversion显示文摘Optical detectors with single-photon sensitivity and large dynamic range would facilitate a variety of applications.Specifically, the capability of extending operation wavelengths into the mid-infrared region is highly attractive. Here we implement a mid-infrared frequency upconversion detector for counting and resolving photons at 3μm.Thanks to the spectrotemporal engineering of the involved optical fields, the mid-infrared photons could be spectrally translated into the visible band with a conversion efficiency of 80%.In combination with a silicon avalanche photodiode,we obtained unprecedented performance with a high overall detection efficiency of 37%and a low noise equivalent power of 1.8×10^(-17) W∕Hz1∕2.Furthermore,photon-number-resolving detection at mid-infrared wavelengths was demonstrated, for the first time to our knowledge, with a multipixel photon counter. The implemented upconversion detector exhibited a maximal resolving photon number up to 9 with a noise probability per pulse of 0.14%at the peak detection efficiency. The achieved photon counting and resolving performance might open up new possibilities in trace molecule spectroscopy, sensitive biochemical sensing, and free-space communications, among others.KUN HUANG YINQI WANG JIANAN FANG WEIYAN KANG YING SUN YAN LIANG QIANG HAO MING YAN HEPING ZENG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,2:2

FERONIA is involved in phototropin 1-mediated blue light phototropic growth in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plant shoot phototropism is triggered by the formation of a light-driven auxin gradient leading to bending growth. The blue light receptor phototropin 1(phot1)senses light direction, but how this leads to auxin gradient formation and growth regulation remains poorly understood.Previous studies have suggested phot1’s role for regulated apoplastic acidification, but its relation to phototropin and hypocotyl phototropism is unclear.Herein,we show that blue light can cause phot1 to interact with and phosphorylate FERONIA(FER),a known cell growth regulator, and trigger downstream phototropic bending growth in Arabidopsis hypocotyls.fer mutants showed defects in phototropic growth, similar to phot1/2 mutant.FER also interacts with and phosphorylates phytochrome kinase substrates, the phot1 downstream substrates. The phot1-FER pathway acts upstream of apoplastic acidification and the auxin gradient formation in hypocotyl under lateral blue light, both of which are critical for phototropic bending growth in hypocotyls. Our study highlights a pivotal role of FER in the phot1-mediated phototropic cell growth regulation in plants.Chiyu Li Jia Chen Xiaoyan Li Xin Zhang Ying Liu Sirui Zhu Long Wang Heping Zheng Sheng Luan Jiada Li Feng Yu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10:1

Research on Present Activity Characteristics of Heizi Fault and Discussion of Its Relative Problems显示文摘Based on other previous researches, we recalculate the micro-displacement along the Heizi fault with recent deformation data of the Heizi reservoir. The result shows that activity characteristics of Heizi fault has changed greatly since 1973 and have experienced four phases. The third phase is characteristics of normal fault, and others characteristic of reverse faults. Constructing the reservoir dam and reservoir sluice has important effect on present activity of the fault, even changed the activity characteristics of faults in some phases. Seismicity has some effect on deformation data and fault activity.Jiang Jingxiang, Wen Heping, Ying Guanghua, and Liu HuiSeismological Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,Urumqi 830011, China 2002Earthquake Research in China2002,16,1:0

Expert consensus on prevention and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for cardiac arrest in COVID-19显示文摘Background:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)strategies in COVID-19 patients differ from those in patients suffering from cardiogenic cardiac arrest.During CPR,both healthcare and non-healthcare workers who provide resuscitation are at risk of infection. The Working Group for Expert Consensus on Prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest in COVID-19 has developed this Chinese Expert Consensus to guide clinical practice of CPR in COVID-19 patients.Main recommendations:1)A medical team should be assigned to evaluate severe and critical COVID-19 for early monitoring of cardiac-arrest warning signs.2)Psychological counseling and treatment are highly recommended, since sympathetic and vagal abnormalities induced by psychological stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can induce cardiac arrest.3)Healthcare workers should wear personal protective equipment(PPE).4)Mouth-to-mouth ventilation should be avoided on patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19.5)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression are recommended.6)Tracheal-intubation procedures should be optimized and tracheal-intubation strategies should be implemented early.7)CPR should be provided for 20-30 min.8)Various factors should be taken into consideration such as the interests of patients and family members, ethics, transmission risks, and laws and regulations governing infectious disease control.Changes in management:The following changes or modifications to CPR strategy in COVID-19 patients are proposed:1)Healthcare workers should wear PPE.2)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression can be implemented to reduce or avoid the spread of viruses by aerosols.3)Both the benefits to patients and the risk of infection should be considered.4)Hhealthcare workers should be fully aware of and trained in CPR strategies and procedures specifically for patients with COVID-19.Wei Song Jie Wei Xiangdong Jian Deren Wang Yanhong Ouyang Yuanshui Liu Xianjin Du Ying Chen Yingqi Zhang Heping Xu Shuming Xianyu Qiong Ning Xiang Li Xiaotong Han Feng Zhan Tao Yu Wenteng Chen Jun Zhang Wenwei Cai Sheng’ang Zhou Shengyang Yi Yu Cao Xiaobei Chen Shunjiang Xu Zong’an Liang Duohu Wu Fen Ai Zhong Wang Qingyi Meng Yuhong Mi Sisen Zhang Rongjia Yang Shouchun Yan Wenbin Han Yong Lin Chuanyun Qian Wenwu Zhang Yan Xiong Jun Lv Baochi Liu Yan Cao Xiaojun He Xuelian Sun Yufang Cao Tian’en Zhou 2021Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,6:0
Cloning and Functional Analysis of FLJ20420:A Novel BAG-1 Promoter Transcription Factor显示文摘BAG-1 is an anti-apoptotic protein that interacts with a variety of cellular molecules to inhibit apoptosis. It is also important in the prognosis of several human malignancies such as breast cancer. We have previously cloned the human BAG-1 promoter. Using BAG-1 promoter as a probe, we identi ed a cDNA clone that encodes a novel BAG-1 promoter-binding protein, termed FLJ20420. The FLJ20420 protein speci cally bind to BAG-1 promoter (-353 to -128 bp) and decreased BAG-1 promoter activity ~30% by cotransfecting the pcDNA3.1-FLJ20420 and BGP-Luc BAG-1 promoter into lung cancer cell lines A549 and L9981. The FLJ20420 gene encodes a ~26kD protein localized in both cytoplasm and nucleus. Comparison of human FLJ20420 with mouse sequences showed a 90% homology with mouse gene, named CHCHD3. Furthermore, Northern blot revealed that FLJ20420 has low-level transcriptional expression in most human normal tissues (brain, placenta, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and cervix) except in heart and skeletal muscle, and has a clear expression in most tumor cell lines. Knockdown of endogenous FLJ20420 significantly increased the expression of BAG-1 in A549 and L9981 cells, as analyzed by real-time PCR and western blotting. Gene array studies in lung cancer tissue samples indicated that there is a significant change in expression of FLJ20420 between the primary lung cancer and the paired normal lung tissues (P=0.0002), while BAG-1 has a significantly decreased expression in the primary lung cancers compared to the paired normal lung tissues (P=0.0001) , suggesting that the expression of BAG-1 was controlled by positive as well as negative transcription factors. Our observation was further confirmedby real-time PCR analysis of FLJ20420 and BAG-1 expressions in these tissues. Taken together, our results suggest that FLJ20420 functions as a down-regulator of BAG-1 and its expression may be involved in oncogenesis of human malignancy.Jun CHEN, Hongyu LIU, Yun BAI, Jin WANG, Heng WU, Baoxin LIU, Ying LI, Lingling ZU, Shou-Ching TANG, Qinghua ZHOU Tianjin Key Laboratory of Lung Cancer Metastasis and Tumor Microenviroment Tianjin Lung Cancer Institute, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Anshan Road No.154, Heping District, Tianjin 300052, China 2009中国肺癌杂志2009,12,6:0
On the Order of the Phase transition in the Three-State Vector Potts Model on a Two-Dimensional Random Lattice显示文摘We performed a Monte Carlo simulation of the three-state(Q=3)vector Potts model on a 2-D random lattice. It is shown that there is a peak in the specific heat but no thermal hysterisis of the energy that corresponds to a high-order phase transition(a second-order one). The result agrees with the analytical calculation and the qualitative picture obtained for the same model on the square lattice.YING Heping ZHANG Jianbo JI Daren 1992Chinese Physics Letters1992,9,1:0
