| 2 | Effect of lifestyle intervention on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese obese children显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of lifestyle intervention on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Chinese obese children. METHODS: Seventy-six obese children aged from 10 to 17 years with NAFLD were enrolled for a one-month intervention and divided randomly into three groups. Group1, consisting of 38 obese children, was an untreated control group without any intervention. Group 2, consisting of 19 obese children in summer camp, was strictly controlled only by life style intervention. Group 3, consisting of 19 obese children, received oral vitamin E therapy at a dose of 100 mg/d. The height, weight, fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting serum insulin (FINS), plasma alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TCHO) and homeostasis model assent- insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were measured at baseline and after one month. All patients were underwent to an ultrasonographic study of the liver performed by one operator who was blinded to the groups. RESULTS: The monitor indices of BMI, ALT, AST, TG, TCHO and HOMA-IR were successfully improved except in group 1. BMI and ALT in group 2 were reduced more significantly than in group 3 (2.44 ± 0.82 vs 1.45 ± 0.80, P = 0.001; 88.58 ± 39.99 vs 63.69 ± 27.05, P = 0.040, respectively).CONCLUSION: Both a short-term lifestyle intervention and vitamin E therapy have an effect on NAFLD in obese children. Compared with vitamin E, lifestyle intervention is more effective. | 6 | Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and matrix metalloproteinase-9 levels in acute cerebral infarction patients显示文摘BACKGROUND Hemorrhagic transformation(HT)is a common complication in patients with cerebral infarction.However,its pathogenesis is poorly understood.The knowledge of factors that may increase risk for HT may help in improving the safety of thrombolytic therapy.AIM To investigate the predictive value of serum calcium,albumin,globulin and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)levels for HT after intravenous thrombolysis(IVT)in patients with acute cerebral infarction.METHODS Five hundred patients with acute cerebral infarction who received IVT with alteplase within 4.5 h after the onset of disease between January 2018 and January 2021 at our hospital were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into groups based on computed tomography scan results of the brain made within 36 h after thrombolysis.Forty patients with HT were enrolled in an observation group and 460 patients without HT were enrolled in a control group.Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and MMP-9 levels were compared between the two groups.Regression analysis was used to discuss the relationship between these indices and HT.RESULTS The previous history of hypertension,diabetes,atrial fibrillation,cerebrovascular diseases,smoking and alcohol intake were not associated with HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction(all P>0.05).The National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NHISS)score was associated with HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction(P<0.05).The serum calcium and albumin levels were lower in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).The levels of globulin and MMP-9 were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that NHISS score,serum calcium,albumin,globulins and MMP-9 were independent factors influencing the occurrence of HT following IVT in patients with cerebral infarction(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Serum calcium,albumin,globulin and MMP-9 levels are risk factors for HT after IVT in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Moreover,NHISS score can be used as a predictor of post-thrombolytic HT. | Ting-Ting Zhong Gang Wang Xiao-Qin Wang Wei-Dan Kong Xiao-Yu Li Qian Xue Yu-An Zou | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,30: | 15 |

QTL meta‐analysis was conducted after a comprehensive review of the reports on QTL mapping for low‐P tolerance‐related traits in maize. Meta‐analysis produced 23 consensus QTL(cQTL), 17 of which located in similar chromosome regions to those previously reported to influence root traits. Meanwhile, candidate gene mining yielded 215 genes, 22 of which located in the cQTL regions.These 22 genes are homologous to 14 functionally characterized genes that were found to participate in plant low‐P tolerance, including genes encoding miR399s, Pi transporters and purple acid phosphatases. | 9 | Comparison of two supplemental oxygen methods during gastroscopy with propofol mono-sedation in patients with a normal body mass index显示文摘BACKGROUND Hypoxemia due to respiratory depression and airway obstruction during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with sedation is a common concern.The Wei nasal jet tube(WNJT)is a new nasopharyngeal airway with the ability to provide supraglottic jet ventilation and oxygen insufflation via its built-in wall channel.The available evidence indicates that with a low oxygen flow,compared with nasal cannula,the WNJT does not decrease the occurrence of hypoxemia during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation.To date,there has been no study assessing the performance of WNJT for supplemental oxygen during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with sedation when a moderate oxygen flow is used.AIM To determine whether the WNJT performs better than the nasal prongs for the prevention of hypoxemia during gastroscopy with propofol mono-sedation when a moderate oxygen flow is provided in patients with a normal body mass index.METHODS This study was performed in 291 patients undergoing elective gastroscopy with propofol mono-sedation.Patients were randomized into one of two groups to receive either the WNJT(WNJT group,n=147)or the nasal cannula(nasal cannula group,n=144)for supplemental oxygen at a 5-L/min flow during gastroscopy.The lowest SpO2 during gastroscopy was recorded.The primary endpoint was the incidence of hypoxemia or severe hypoxemia during gastroscopy.RESULTS The total incidence of hypoxemia and severe hypoxemia during gastroscopy was significantly decreased in the WNJT group compared with the nasal cannula group(P=0.000).The lowest median SpO2 during gastroscopy was significantly higher(98%;interquartile range,97-99)in the WNJT group than in the nasal cannula group(96%;interquartile range,93-98).Epistaxis by device insertion in the WNJT group occurred in 7 patients but stopped naturally without any treatment.The two groups were comparable in terms of the satisfaction of physicians,anesthetists and patients.CONCLUSION With a moderate oxygen flow,the WNJT is more effective for the prevention of hypoxemia during gastroscopy with propofol mono-sedation compared with nasal prongs,but causing slight epistaxis in a few patients. | Liu-Jia-Zi Shao Yi Zou Fu-Kun Liu Lei Wan Shao-Hua Liu Fang-Xiao Hong Fu-Shan Xue | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,43: | 13 |
| 10 | Role of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in a rat model of severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role and potential mechanisms of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) in severe acute peritonitis(SAP).METHODS:Pancreatic acinar cells from Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups:nonsodium deoxycholate(SDOC) group(non-SODC group),SDOC group,and a MSCs intervention group(i.e.,a co-culture system of MSCs and pancreatic acinar cells + SDOC).The cell survival rate,the concentration of malonaldehyde(MDA),the density of superoxide dismutase(SOD),serum amylase(AMS) secretion rate and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) leakage rate were detected at various time points.In a separate study,Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into either an SAP group or an SAP + MSCs group.Serum AMS,MDA and SOD,interleukin(IL)-6,IL-10,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α levels,intestinal mucosa injury scores and proliferating cells of small intestinal mucosa were measured at various time points after injecting either MSCs or saline into rats.In both studies,the protective effect of MSCs was evaluated.RESULTS:In vitro,The cell survival rate of pancreatic acinar cells and the density of SOD were significantly reduced,and the concentration of MDA,AMS secretion rate and LDH leakage rate were significantly increased in the SDOC group compared with the MSCs intervention group and the Non-SDOC group at each time point.In vivo,Serum AMS,IL-6,TNF-α and MAD level in the SAP + MSCs group were lower than the SAP group;however serum IL-10 level was higher than the SAP group.Serum SOD level was higher than the SAP group at each time point,whereas a significant betweengroup difference in SOD level was only noted after 24 h.Intestinal mucosa injury scores was significantly reduced and the proliferating cells of small intestinal mucosa became obvious after injecting MSCs.CONCLUSION:MSCs can effectively relieve injury to pancreatic acinar cells and small intestinal epithelium,promote the proliferation of enteric epithelium and repair of the mucosa,attenuate systemic inflammation in rats with SAP. | Xiao-Huang Tu Jing-Xiang Song Xiao-Jun Xue Xian-Wei Guo Yun-Xia Ma Zhi-Yao Chen Zhong-Dong Zou Lie Wang | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,18: | 13 |

| 12 | Welding Deviation Detection Algorithm Based on Extremum of Molten Pool Image Contour显示文摘The welding deviation detection is the basis of robotic tracking welding, but the on-line real-time measurement of welding deviation is still not well solved by the existing methods. There is plenty of information in the gas metal arc welding(GMAW) molten pool images that is very important for the control of welding seam tracking. The physical meaning for the curvature extremum of molten pool contour is revealed by researching the molten pool images, that is, the deviation information points of welding wire center and the molten tip center are the maxima and the local maxima of the contour curvature, and the horizontal welding deviation is the position difference of these two extremum points. A new method of weld deviation detection is presented, including the process of preprocessing molten pool images, extracting and segmenting the contours, obtaining the contour extremum points, and calculating the welding deviation, etc. Extracting the contours is the premise, segmenting the contour lines is the foundation, and obtaining the contour extremum points is the key. The contour images can be extracted with the method of discrete dyadic wavelet transform, which is divided into two sub contours including welding wire and molten tip separately. The curvature value of each point of the two sub contour lines is calculated based on the approximate curvature formula of multi-points for plane curve, and the two points of the curvature extremum are the characteristics needed for the welding deviation calculation. The results of the tests and analyses show that the maximum error of the obtained on-line welding deviation is 2 pixels(0.16 mm), and the algorithm is stable enough to meet the requirements of the pipeline in real-time control at a speed of less than 500 mm/min. | 14 | Effects of yeast and yeast cell wall polysaccharides supplementation on beef cattle growth performance, rumen microbial populations and lipopolysaccharides production显示文摘This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of live yeast and yeast cell wall polysaccharides on growth performance,rumen function and plasma lipopolysaccharides(LPS) content and immunity parameters of beef cattle.Forty Qinchuan cattle were randomly assigned to one of four treatments with 10 replicates in each treatment.The dietary treatments were: control diet(CTR),CTR supplemented with 1 g live yeast(2×10^10 live cell g^-1 per cattle per day(YST1),CTR supplemented with 2 g live yeast per cattle per day(YST2) and CTR supplemented with 20 g of yeast cell wall polysaccharides(30.0%≤β-glucan≤35.0%,and 28.0%≤mannanoligosaccharide≤32.0%) per cattle per day(YCW).The average daily gain was higher(P=0.023) and feed conversion ratio was lower(P=0.042) for the YST2 than the CTR.The digestibility of neutral detergent fiber(P=0.039) and acid detergent fiber(P=0.016) were higher in yeast supplemented groups.The acetic acid:propionic acid of the YST2 was lower compared with the CTR(P=0.033).Plasma LPS(P=0.032),acute phase protein haptoglobin(P=0.033),plasma amyloid A(P=0.015) and histamine(P=0.038) were lower in the YST2 compared with the CTR.The copies of fibrolytic microbial populations such as Fibrobacter succinogenes S85,Ruminococcus albus 7 and Ruminococcus flavefaciens FD-1 of the YST2 were higher(P<0.001),while the copies of typical lactate producing bacteria Streptococcus bovis JB1 was lower(P<0.001) compared with the CTR.Little differences were observed between the CTR,YST1 and YCW in growth performance,ruminal fermentation characteristics,microbial populations,immunity indices and total tract nutrient digestibility.It is concluded that the YST2 could promote fibrolytic microbial populations,decrease starch-utilizing bacteria,reduce LPS production in the rumen and LPS absorption into plasma and decrease inflammatory parameters,which can lead to an improvement in growth performance in beef cattle. | PENG Quan-hui CHENG Long KANG Kun Tian Gang Mohammad Al-Mamun XUE Bai WANG Li-zhi ZOU Hua-wei Mathew Gitau Gicheha WANG Zhi-sheng | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,3: | 9 |

| 16 | Welding Polarity Effects on Weld Spatters and Bead Geometry of Hyperbaric Dry GMAW显示文摘Welding polarity has influence on welding stability to some extent, but the specific relationship between welding polarity and weld quality has not been found, especially under the hyperbaric environment. Based on a hyperbaric dry welding experiment system, gas metal arc welding(GMAW) experiments with direct current electrode positive(DCEP) and direct current electrode negative(DCEN) operations are carried out under the ambient pressures of 0.1 MPa, 0.4 MPa, 0.7 MPa and 1.0 MPa to find the influence rule of different welding polarities on welding spatters and weld bead geometry. The effects of welding polarities on the weld bead geometry such as the reinforcement, the weld width and the penetration are discussed. The experimental results show that the welding spatters gradually grow in quantity and size for GMAW with DCEP, while GMAW with DCEN can produce fewer spatters comparatively with the increase of the ambient pressure. Compared with DCEP, the welding current and arc voltage waveforms for DCEN is more stable and the distribution of welding current probability density for DCEN is more concentrated under the hyperbaric environment. When the ambient pressure is increased from 0.1 MPa to 1.0 MPa, the effects of welding polarities on the reinforcement, the weld width and the penetration are as follows: an increase of 0.8 mm for the weld reinforcement is produced by GMAW with DCEN and 1.3 mm by GMAW with DCEP, a decrease of 7.2 mm for the weld width is produced by DCEN and 6.1 mm by DCEP; and an increase of 3.9 mm for the penetration is produced by DCEN and 1.9 mm by DCEP. | 17 | Effects of targeting magnetic drug nanoparticles on human cholangiocarcinoma xenografts in nude mice显示文摘BACKGROUND:Targeting is a new therapeutic tool for malignant tumor as a result of combining nanotechnology with chemotherapeutics.The aim of our study was to investigate the effects of magnetic nanoparticles enveloping a chemotherapeutic drug on human cholangiocarcinoma xenografts in nude mice. METHODS:The human cholangiocarcinoma xenograft model was established in nude mice with the QBC939 cell line.The nude mice were randomly assigned to 7 groups. 0.9%saline or magnetic nanoparticles,including high (group 2),medium(group 4)and low(group 5)dosages, were given to nude mice through the tail vein 20 days after the QBC939 cell line was implanted.Calculations were made 35 days after treatment in order to compare the volumes,inhibition ratios and growth curves of the tumors in each group.Mice in each group were sacrificed randomly to collect tumor tissues and other organs for electron microscopy and pathological examination. RESULTS:The high and medium dosage groups were significantly different from the control group(P<0.05). The tumor inhibition ratios for the high,medium and low dosage groups were 39.6%,14.6%and 7.9%,respectively. | 18 | Constant Speed Control for Complex Cross-section Welding Using Robot Based on Angle Self-Test显示文摘Expandable profile liner(EPL) is a promising new oil well casing cementing technique, and welding is a major EPLs connection technology. Connection of EPL is still in the stage of manual welding so far, automatic welding technology is a hotspot of EPL which is one of the key technologies to be solved. A robot for automatic welding of '8' type EPL is studied. Four quadrants of mathematical equations of the 8-shaped cross-section track of EPL, consisting of multiple arcs, are established. Mechanism program for complex cross-section welding of EPL based on angle detection is proposed according to characteristics of small size, small valleys, and large forming errors, etc. A welding velocity vector control model is established by linkage control of a welding vehicle, a small driven actuator, and a height tracking mechanism. A constant speed control model based on an angle and symmetrical analysis model of rectangular coordinate system for EPL is built. Constraint conditions of constant speed control between each section are analyzed with 4 sections in first quadrant as an example, and cooperation work mechanism of the welding vehicle and the small tracking actuator is established based on pressure detection. The constant speed control model using angle self-test can be used to avoid the need for a precise mathematical model for tracking control and to adapt manufacture and installation deviation of EPL workpiece. The model is able to solve constant speed and trajectory tracking problems of EPL cross-section welding. EPL seams welded by the studied robot are good in appearance, and non-destructive testing(NDT) shows the seams are good in quality with no welding defects.
