1Spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the Three-River Headwaters Region during 2000-2011显示文摘The Three-River Headwaters Region(TRHR), which is the source area of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Lancang River, is of key importance to the ecological security of China. Because of climate changes and human activities, ecological degradation occurred in this region. Therefore, 'The nature reserve of Three-River Source Regions' was established, and 'The project of ecological protection and construction for the Three-River Headwaters Nature Reserve' was implemented by the Chinese government. This study, based on MODIS-NDVI and climate data, aims to analyze the spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the TRHR between 2000 and 2011, from three dimensions. Linear regression, Hurst index analysis, and partial correlation analysis were employed. The results showed the following:(1) In the past 12 years(2000–2011), the NDVI of the study area increased, with a linear tendency being 1.2%/10a, of which the Yangtze and Yellow River source regions presented an increasing trend, while the Lancang River source region showed a decreasing trend.(2) Vegetation coverage presented an obvious spatial difference in the TRHR, and the NDVI frequency was featured by a bimodal structure.(3) The area with improved vegetation coverage was larger than the degraded area, being 64.06% and 35.94%, respectively during the study period, and presented an increasing trend in the north and a decreasing trend in the south.(4) The reverse characteristics of vegetation coverage change are significant. In the future, degradation trends will be mainly found in the Yangtze River Basin and to the north of the Yellow River, while areas with improving trends are mainly distributed in the Lancang River Basin.(5) The response of vegetation coverage to precipitation and potential evapotranspiration has a time lag, while there is no such lag in the case of temperature.(6) The increased vegetation coverage is mainly attributed to the warm-wet climate change and the implementation of the ecological protection project.LIU Xianfeng ZHANG Jinshui ZHU Xiufang PAN Yaozhong LIU Yanxu ZHANG Donghai LIN Zhihui 2014Journal of Geographical Sciences2014,24,2:47
2Antibacterial effect of metallic glasses显示文摘The antibacterial effect of Fe-based,Ni-based and Cu-based metallic glasses has been studied in this research.All test metallic glasses were found to inhibit growth of Esherichia coli.The optical density value of E.coli flocculation exposed to metallic glasses,from which the number of bacteria was determined,was 65% lower than that of the match group,and 57% lower than that of the ferrite group.Moreover,the antibacterial effect was not significantly different(σ=0.05) between Cu-based,Ni-based and Fe-based metallic glasses.These results extend our understanding of the antibacterial effect of metallic antibacterial materials,and suggest new applications for metallic glasses.LIN Bao MU Ren YANG LiFu BIAN XiuFang 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,9:2

4Ultralow-temperature assisted synthesis of single platinum atoms anchored on carbon nanotubes for efficiently electrocatalytic acidic hydrogen evolution显示文摘Although platinum(Pt) is highly active for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)[1], it is crucial to explore the effective approach for minimizing the Pt loading amount in the practical application. Herein, one ultralow-temperature solution reduction approach is developed to anchor atomically dispersed Pt atoms on carbon nanotubes(Pt-CNTs), which decelerates the diffusion rate of Pt Cl2-6 ion reached onto the carbon nanotubes and lowers the free energy of Pt atoms in the solution to reduce the probability of the Pt aggregation. The obtained Pt-CNTs exhibits a low overpotential of 41 mV@10 mA cm^(-2) for HER in acidic media. The calculation results revealed that the improvement of the electrocatalytic activity is contributed by the interaction between CNTs and Pt atoms, which descreases the the Pt d band cneter referred to the Fermi level and lowers the Gibbs free energy of H*adsorption. 12Early application of nerve growth factor affects serum inflammatory cytokine levels in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy显示文摘BACKGROUND: It has been demonstrated that there are changes of various cytokines, chemokines and adhesion factors in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). What are the changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum of HIE neonates. OBJECTIVE: To observe the dynamic changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in peripheral serum at different time after HIE in neonates, and analyze the possible therapeutic efficacy of early application of NGF. DESIGN: A non-randomized controlled observation synchronically. SETTING: Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University. PARTICIPANTS: Sixty neonates with HIE were selected from the Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University from January 2004 to October 2006, including 32 boys and 28 girls, who were all accorded with the diagnostic standards for moderate to severe HIE. The neonates were divided into two groups NGF-treated group (n =30), HIE group (n =30). The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF within 24 hours after birth. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Meanwhile, 30 apneic normal neonates (17 boys and 13 girls) at the same period were selected as the control group. The gestational age was 37–42 weeks in all the three groups, the body mass at birth was 2 500–4 000 g. Informed contents were obtained from the relatives of all the enrolled neonates. METHODS: The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF (2 000 U) within 24 hours after birth, once a day, 10 days as a course. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Blood samples (3 mL) were drawn from femoral vein in all the neonates 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. The levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum were detected with enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Serum levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. RESULTS: All the 60 HIE neonates and 30 normal neonates were involved in the final analysis of results. ① Serum level of interleukin-6: The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and gradually recovered to the normal level as time prolonged. The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were higher than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). ②Serum level of interleukin-18: The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), especially that at 3 days. The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were lower than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). 13Liquid dynamics and glass formation of Gd_(55)Co_(20)Al_(25)metallic glass with minor Si addition显示文摘Liquid dynamics plays an essential role in glass formation.Here we observed a distinct change of liquid dynamics in Gd_(55)Co_(20)Al_(25)metallic glass induced by microalloying Si element.In the equilibrium melt,minor Si(0.5 at.%)addition leads to a more fragile liquid behavior and a smaller strength of liquid-liquid transition with the transition strength(F)decreasing from 0.76 to 0.35.However,in the supercooled liquid,Si-doped liquid exhibits a remarkable enhanced fragile-to-strong transition(FST),and the value of FST factor f increases sharply from 1.63 to 3.84,resulting in a stronger liquid behavior and more sluggish crystallization kinetics for Gd_(55)Co_(20)Al_(24.5)Si_(0.5)metallic glass.Moreover,minor Si addition promotes the formation of a crystal-like structure with a size of 1-2 nm.The interactions between the crystal-like structures and other local favored clusters frustrate the further growth of crystal-like phases,thus stabilizes the amorphous structure.As a result,the glass-forming ability(GFA)was largely improved.The critical diameter of Gd_(55)Co_(20)Al_(25)metallic glass increased from 2 to 7 mm with 0.5 at.%Si addition without deterioration of the magnetocaloric effect.This study provides valuable insight for understanding the distinct effect of microalloying on GFA of metallic glasses from the aspect of the evolution of the liquid.Lin Xue Liliang Shao Qiang Luo Lina Hu Yunbo Zhao Kuibo Yin Mingyun Zhu Litao Sun Baolong Shen Xiufang Bian 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,18:0

16Facile fabrication of superior antibacterial cotton fabric based on ZnO nanoparticles/quaternary ammonium salts hybrid composites and mechanism study显示文摘In the research for the safe and efficiently antibacterial cotton fabrics to minimize risk for human health,an organic–inorganic hybrid material of ZnO nanoparticles(NPs)and quaternary ammonium salt(QAS)was employed to modify cotton fabrics by a dipping–padding–drying method.The synergistic effects of ZnO NPs and QAS on the structure and antibacterial properties of cotton fabrics were studied in detail.Results displayed that the QAS and ZnO NPs were immobilized firmly in cotton fabric by the formation of chemical covalent bonds and silica gel structure.ZnO/QAS/cotton had a good inhibitory effect on the growth of E.coli and S.aureus,with superior antibacterial efficiency of>99.99%.ZnO/QAS/cotton preserved good mechanical property,water absorbability,and limpness.We also provided a detailed analysis of antibacterial mechanism for the hybrid materials.The contact mechanism and the Zn2+release were considered as the main mechanisms for the ZnO/QAS/cotton,while the reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation only had a little contribution to the antibacterial activity.In short,the excellent integrated properties endowed the hybrid cotton fabrics as potential application in many fields,like healthcare,food packaging.Yechen Hu Lin Zhang Yafeng Huang Xiufang Chen Fengtao Chen Wangyang Lu 2023Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,2:0
17Robust Co_(3)O_(4)nanocatalysts supported on biomass-derived porous N-doped carbon toward low-pressure hydrogenation of furfural显示文摘The catalytic conversion of biomass platform chemicals using abundant non-noble metal nanocatalysts is a challenging topic.Here,high-density cobalt oxide nanoparticles loaded on biomass-derived porous N-doped carbon(NC)was fabricated by a tandem hydrothermal pyrolysis and mild nitrate decomposition process,which is a green and cheap preparation method.The Co_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles with the average size of 12 nm were uniformly distributed on the porous NC.The nanocomposites also possessed large surface area,high N content,good dispersibility in isopropanol,and furfural absorbability.Due to these characteristics,the novel cobalt nanocatalyst exhibited high catalytic activity for producing furfuryl alcohol,yielding 98.7%of the conversion and 97.1%of the selectivity at 160℃ for 6 h under 1 bar H2.The control experiments implied that both direct hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation pathways co-existed in the hydrogenation reaction.The excellent catalytic activity of Co_(3)O_(4)@NC was attributed to the cooperative effects of porous NC and Co_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles.This approach provides a new idea to design effective high-density nonnoble metal oxide nanocatalysts for hydrogenation reactions,which can make full use of sustainable natural biomass.Lin Zhang Lanlan Cheng Yechen Hu Qingguang Xiao Xiufang Chen Wangyang Lu 2023Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,2:0
18Reactivation of PPARαalleviates myocardial lipid accumulation and cardiac dysfunction by improving fatty acidβ-oxidation in Dsg2-deficient arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy(ACM),a fatal heart disease characterized by fibroadipocytic replacement of cardiac myocytes,accounts for 20%of sudden cardiac death and lacks effective treatment.It is often caused by mutations in desmosome proteins,with Desmoglein-2(DSG2)mutations as a common etiology.However,the mechanism underlying the accumulation of fibrofatty in ACM remains unknown,which impedes the development of curative treatment.Here we investigated the fat accumulation and the underlying mechanism in a mouse model of ACM induced by cardiac-specific knockout of Dsg2(CS-Dsg2^(-/-)).Heart failure and cardiac lipid accumulation were observed in CSDsg2^(-/-)mice.We demonstrated that these phenotypes were caused by decline of fatty acid(FA)β-oxidation resulted from impaired mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)signaling.Rapamycin worsened while overexpression of m TOR and 4EBP1 rescued the FAβ-oxidation pathway in CS-Dsg2^(-/-)mice.Reactivation of PPARa by fenofibrate or AAV9-Ppara significantly alleviated the lipid accumulation and restored cardiac function.Our results suggest that impaired m TOR-4EBP1-PPARa-dependent FAβ-oxidation contributes to myocardial lipid accumulation in ACM and PPARa may be a potential target for curative treatment of ACM.Yubi Lin Ruonan Liu Yanling Huang Zhe Yang Jianzhong Xian Jingmin Huang Zirui Qiu Xiufang Lin Mengzhen Zhang Hui Chen Huadong Wang Jiana Huang Geyang Xu 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,1:0
