1The impacts of climate extremes on the terrestrial carbon cycle:A review显示文摘The increased frequency of climate extremes in recent years has profoundly affected terrestrial ecosystem functions and the welfare of human society. The carbon cycle is a key process of terrestrial ecosystem changes. Therefore, a better understanding and assessment of the impacts of climate extremes on the terrestrial carbon cycle could provide an important scientific basis to facilitate the mitigation and adaption of our society to climate change. In this paper, we systematically review the impacts of climate extremes(e.g. drought, extreme precipitation, extreme hot and extreme cold) on terrestrial ecosystems and their mechanisms. Existing studies have suggested that drought is one of the most important stressors on the terrestrial carbon sink, and that it can inhibit both ecosystem productivity and respiration. Because ecosystem productivity is usually more sensitive to drought than respiration, drought can significantly reduce the strength of terrestrial ecosystem carbon sinks and even turn them into carbon sources. Large inter-model variations have been found in the simulations of drought-induced changes in the carbon cycle, suggesting the existence of a large gap in current understanding of the mechanisms behind the responses of ecosystem carbon balance to drought, especially for tropical vegetation. The effects of extreme precipitation on the carbon cycle vary across different regions. In general, extreme precipitation enhances carbon accumulation in arid ecosystems, but restrains carbon sequestration in moist ecosystems. However, current knowledge on the indirect effects of extreme precipitation on the carbon cycle through regulating processes such as soil carbon lateral transportation and nutrient loss is still limited. This knowledge gap has caused large uncertainties in assessing the total carbon cycle impact of extreme precipitation. Extreme hot and extreme cold can affect the terrestrial carbon cycle through various ecosystem processes. Note that the severity of such climate extremes depends greatly on their timing, which needs to be investigated thoroughly in future studies. 2Arterial relaxation is coupled to inhibition of mitochondrial fission in arterial smooth muscle cells:comparison of vasorelaxant effects of verapamil and phentolamine显示文摘Mitochondria are morphologically dynamic organelles which undergo fission and fusion processes. Our previous study found that arterial constriction was always accompanied by increased mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells, whereas inhibition of mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells was associated with arterial relaxation. Here, we used the typical vasorelaxants, verapamil and phentolamine, to further confirm the coupling between arterial constriction and mitochondrial fission in rat aorta. Results showed that phentolamine but not verapamil induced vasorelaxation in phenylephrine(PE)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Verapamil, but not phentolamine, induced vasorelaxation in high K^+(KPSS)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Pre-treatment with phentolamine prevented PEbut not KPSS-induced aorta constriction and pre-treatment with verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSSinduced aorta constriction. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results showed that verapamil but not phentolamine inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smooth muscle cells,and verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smoothmuscle cells. Verapamil inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells(A10). 3A Virtual Machine Scheduling Strategy with a Speed Switch and a Multi-Sleep Mode in Cloud Data Centers显示文摘With the rapid growth of energy costs and the constant promotion of environmental standards, energy consumption has become a significant expenditure for the operating and maintaining of a cloud data center. Io improve the energy efficiency of cloud data centers, in this paper, we propose a Virtual Machine (VM) scheduling strategy with a speed switch and a multi-sleep mode. In accordance with the current traffic loads, a proportion of VMs operate at a low speed or a high speed, while the remaining VMs either sleep or operate at a high speed. Commensurate with our proposal, we develop a continuous-time queueing model with an adaptive service rate and a partial synchronous vacation. We construct a two dimensional Markov chain based on the total number of requests in the system and the state of all the VMs. Using a matrix geometric solution, we mathematically estimate the energy saving level and the response performance of the system. Numerical experiments with analysis and simulation show that our proposed VM scheduling strategy can effectively reduce the energy consumption without significant degradation in response performance. Additionally;we establish a system utility function to trade off the different performance measures. 4Rock crevices determine woody and herbaceous plant cover in the karst critical zone显示文摘The study of the critical zones(CZs) of the Earth link the composition and function of aboveground vegetation with the characteristics of the rock layers, providing a new way to study how the unique rock and soil conditions in karst regions affect the aboveground vegetation. Based on survey results of the rocks, soils and vegetation in the dolomite and limestone distribution areas in the karst area of central Guizhou, it was found that woody plant cover increases linearly with the number of cracks with a width of more than 1 mm, while the cover of herbaceous plants shows the opposite trend(p<0.01). The dolomite distribution area is characterized by undeveloped crevices, and the thickness of the soil layer is generally less than 20 cm, which is suitable for the distribution of herbaceous plants with shallow roots. Due to the development of crevices in the limestone distribution area, the soil is deeply distributed through the crevices for the deep roots of trees, which leads to a diversified species composition and a complicated structure in the aboveground vegetation. Based on moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS) remote sensing data from 2001 to 2010, the normalized differentiated vegetation index(NDVI) and annual net primary productivity(NPP) results for each phase of a 16-day interval further indicate that the NDVI of the limestone distribution area is significantly higher than that in the dolomite distribution area, but the average annual NPP is the opposite. The results of this paper indicate that in karst CZs, the lithology determines the structure and distribution of the soil, which further determines the cover of woody and herbaceous plants in the aboveground vegetation. Although the amount of soil in the limestone area may be less than that in the dolomite area, the developed crevice structure is more suitable for the growth of trees with deep roots, and the vegetation activity is strong. 7Method of GIL partial discharge localization based on natural neighbour interpolation and ECOC‐MLP‐SVM using optical simulation technology显示文摘Partial discharge(PD)is one of the main causes rendering the deterioration of the insulation state in gas‐insulated transmission line(GIL).Accurate and timely localization of the PD source is essential to ensure the safe and stable operation of the GIL.At present,optical PD detection technology shows advantages in terms of high sensitivity and strong anti‐inter-ference performance.Therefore,an optical PD localization method based on optical simulation fingerprint database is proposed.The introduction of simulation conquers the difficulty of obtaining a PD fingerprint database in field experiments.This method con-structs a simulation fingerprint database by performing PD simulation in a GIL simulation model of the same size as the actual GIL.The natural neighbour interpolation algorithm is applied to expand the simulation fingerprint database to cover all locations in the GIL.The two‐level localization method proposed is to match the PD fingerprint to be tested with the expanded fingerprint database,which can reduce the amount of calculation while main-taining the localization accuracy.The experimental results show that the average localiza-tion error of this method is only 9.7 mm,and the localization time is reduced by about 11 times compared with the normal one‐level localization method.Yiming Zang Yong Qian Hui Wang Antian Xu Gehao Sheng Xiuchen Jiang 2021High Voltage2021,6,3:1

9Application status and development trends for intelligent perception of distribution network显示文摘Intelligent perception is the cornerstone of digitalisation of power grid.Due to the closest connection with users,the information perception ability of distribution network directly affects the reliability of power supply.Distribution network has a wide range of geographical distribution and equipment types.The application of intelligent perception is with high complexity and dynamics under the limitation of both technology and management.Therefore,the study first sorts out the current application status of intel-ligent perception technology and equipment in distribution network from three appli-cation fields including distribution automation,metering systems,and inspection.Then,the constraints of existing intelligent perception applications and the key points of further research are pointed out.Finally,the development trends of intelligent perception technology in distribution network are presented from the three aspects of basic tech-nology,perception equipment,and advanced applications.With the improvement of sensing,communication,energy acquisition,chips and perception equipments,the depth and breadth of advanced applications in distribution network will be expanded.The research results can provide references for the follow‐up research and practice of intel-ligent perception in distribution networks.Yingjie Yan Yadong Liu Jian Fang Yuefeng Lu Xiuchen Jiang 2021High Voltage2021,6,6:1

17Intelligent learning approach for UHF partial discharge localisation in air-insulated substations显示文摘To achieve comprehensive insulation deterioration motoring of power equipment and early fault warning in air-insulated substations,a data-driven partial discharge(PD)source localisation method employing noisy ultra-high frequency(UHF)received signal strength indicator(RSSI)and particle filter is proposed in this study.Compared with the existing UHF time-difference-based techniques,UHF wireless sensor arrays and RSSI-based methods provide an economical and high-adaptability solution.However,owing to the multi-pathing and shadowing effects,UHF signal attenuation cannot be modelled.Therefore,a Kalman filter was employed to smoothen the RSSI signal.Furthermore,a semi-parametric regression model is proposed to achieve a more accurate relationship between the RSSI and the transmission distance.Finally,in contrast to traditional localisation algorithms directly based on the RSSI ranging model,a particle filter was used to achieve higher accuracy.It predicted the best distribution of the position of PD by learning and considering all the system states of the previous moment.The laboratory test was performed within an area of 6 m×6 m,and the results demonstrate that the mean PD source localisation error was 1.16 m,which gives a potential application for the identification of power equipment with insulation deterioration in a substation,while the accuracy is still needed to be verified further by field tests.Quanfu Zheng Lingen Luo Hui Song Gehao Sheng Xiuchen Jiang 2020High Voltage2020,5,5:1
