1Towards better analysis of machine learning models:A visual analytics perspective显示文摘Interactive model analysis,the process of understanding,diagnosing,and refining a machine learning model with the help of interactive visualization,is very important for users to efficiently solve real-world artificial intelligence and data mining problems.Dramatic advances in big data analytics have led to a wide variety of interactive model analysis tasks.In this paper,we present a comprehensive analysis and interpretation of this rapidly developing area.Specifically,we classify the relevant work into three categories:understanding,diagnosis,and refinement.Each category is exemplified by recent influential work.Possible future research opportunities are also explored and discussed.Shixia Liu Xiting Wang Mengchen Liu Jun Zhu 2017Visual Informatics2017,1,1:9
2The geobiological formation process of the marine source rocks in the Middle Permian Chihsia Formation of South China显示文摘The Chihsia Formation is one of the four sets of regional marine hydrocarbon source rocks from South China.In the past two decades,detailed geochemical and sedimentological studies have been carried out to investigate its origination,which have demonstrated that the high primary productivity plays a primary role in the deposition of sediments enriched in the organic matter.However,the mechanism of this high productivity and the path of the deposition and burial of the organic matter have always been a mystery.Based on the previous studies on the Shangsi Section in Guangyuan City,Sichuan Province,we proposed that the development of the equatorial upwelling due to the sea level rise is responsible for the relatively high productivity in the Chihsia Formation.The sea waters with high nutrient were transported by the sub-surface currents along the equator.High organic carbon flux was deposited on the deeper shelf,and then decomposed by bacteria,leading to the occurrence of anaerobic respiration.The metabolism of the microorganisms consumed the dissolved oxygen in waters,which was in favor of the preservation of the organic matter.This suggested geobiological model integrating with paleoclimatology,paleoceanography and geomicrobiology will help us to understand the causes of this particular sedimentary sequence.LIU XiTing YAN JiaXin XUE WuQiang MA ZhiXin LI Bo 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,5:5
3The integration of transcriptomic and transgenic analyses reveals the involvement of the SA response pathway in the defense of chrysanthemum against the necrotrophic fungus Alternaria sp.显示文摘Chrysanthemum morifolium cv.‘Huaihuang’has ornamental,edible,medicinal,and tea product uses.However,its field growth,yield,and quality are negatively affected by black spot disease caused by Alternaria sp.(Strain:HQJH10092301;GenBank accession number:KF688111).In this study,we transcriptionally and transgenically characterized a new cultivar,‘Huaiju 2#’(Henan Traditional Chinese Medicine Plant Cultivar identification number:2016002),which was bred from‘Huaihuang’and shows resistance to Alternaria sp.Numerous‘Huaiju 2#’plants were inoculated with Alternaria sp.for three or five days.Metabolic analysis showed increases in both salicylic acid(SA)and jasmonic acid(JA)in infected plants compared to the control.Protein activity analysis also revealed a significant increase in defense enzyme activities in infected plants.RNA-Seq of plants infected for 3 or 5 days produced a total of 58.6 GB of clean reads.Among these reads,16,550 and 13,559 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified in Cm_3 dpi(sample from 3 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_3 dpi)and Cm_5 dpi(sample from 5 days post-inoculation labeled as Cm_5 dpi),respectively,compared with their controls(Cm_0 d:a mixture samples from 0 d(before inoculation)and those treated with sterile distilled water at 3 dpi and 5 dpi).Gene annotation and cluster analysis of the DEGs revealed a variety of defense responses to Alternaria sp.infection,which were characterized by increases in resistance(R)proteins and the reactive oxygen species(ROS),Ca2+,mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and JA signaling pathways.In particular,SA signaling was highly responsive to Alternaria sp.infection.The qPCR analysis of 12 DEG candidates supported their differential expression characterized by using the RNA-Seq data.One candidate was CmNPR1(nonexpressor of pathogenesis-related gene 1),an important positive regulator of SA in systemic acquired resistance(SAR).Overexpression of CmNPR1 in‘Huaiju 2#’increased the resistance of transgenic plants to black spot.These findings indicate that the SA response pathway is likely involved in the defense of‘Huaiju 2#’against Alternaria sp.pathogens.Xiting Zhao Lingyu Song Liwei Jiang Yuting Zhu Qinghui Gao Dandan Wang Jing Xie Meng Lv Ping Liu Mingjun Li 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3
4ANALYSIS OF AFFECTIVE ECG SIGNALS TOWARD EMOTION RECOGNITION显示文摘Recently,as recognizing emotion has been one of the hallmarks of affective computing,more attention has been paid to physiological signals for emotion recognition.This paper presented an approach to emotion recognition using ElectroCardioGraphy(ECG) signals from multiple subjects.To collect reliable affective ECG data,we applied an arousal method by movie clips to make subjects experience specific emotions without external interference.Through precise location of P-QRS-T wave by continuous wavelet transform,an amount of ECG features was extracted sufficiently.Since feature selection is a combination optimization problem,Improved Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(IBPSO) based on neighborhood search was applied to search out effective features to improve classification results of emotion states with the help of fisher or K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN) classifier.In the experiment,it is shown that the approach is successful and the effective features got from ECG signals can express emotion states excellently.Xu Ya Liu Guangyuan Hao Min Wen Wanhui Huang Xiting 2010Journal of Electronics(China)2010,27,1:2
5Curcumin alleviates TGF-β1-induced fibrosis in NRK-49F cells via suppression of miR-21 expression,and regulation of the TGF-β1/smad3 signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:Overexpression of microRNA-21(miR-21)has been well-recognized during fibrosis in a wide range of tissue types through regulation of fibrogenesis via diverse pathways.Curcumin exhibits antifibrotic effects in various organs.We and others have previously demonstrated that curcumin has positive effects on the protection against fibrosis.However,the effect of curcumin on miR-21 expression has not been reported.Methods:In this study,transforming growth factor-b1(TGF-b1)-stimulated rat renal fibroblast cells(NRK-49F)were transfected with miR-21 inhibitors,then the expression of Smad3,a-smooth muscle actin(a-SMA),type I collagen(COL1A1),and type III collagen(COL3A1)was determined using quantitative real-time-PCR(qRT-PCR)and western blot analysis.The effect of curcumin on production of the extracellular matrix was evaluated using immunofluorescence,qRT-PCR,and western blot analysis.Results:TGF-b1 stimulation upregulated the expression of miR-21 and induced fibrogenesis in NRK-49F cells.Transfection with miR-21 inhibitors selectively decreased smad3 activity,and noticeably reduced the expression of a-SMA,COL1A1,and COL3A1.Curcumin treatment significantly inhibited the expressions of smad3,a-SMA,COL1A1,COL3A1,as well as miR-21 expression in NRK-49F cells in a dosedependent manner.Conclusion:Curcumin exerted its anti-fibrotic effects by targeting the TGF-b1/smad3 signaling pathway and suppressing miR-21 expression,thereby provides novel insight in the protective effects of curcumin against fibrosis in various organs.Lan Zhang Yi Liu Xiting Wang Cheng Li Mengmeng Shen Liming Di Shuangshuang He Yu Li 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,1:2
6Construction and cross-correlation analysis of the affective physiological response database显示文摘Six kinds of emotions,namely joy,surprise,disgust,grief,anger and fear,are elicited from 300 ordinary college students by means of high-rated movie clips.The signals of galvanic skin response(GSR),heart rate(HR),blood volume pulse(BVP),electrocardiogram(ECG),respiration(Rsp.),facial electromyography(EMG) and two channels of electroencephalography(EEG) from the frontal lobe were recorded while the subjects were watching the affective eliciting materials.The samples of each kind of signals are analyzed by using random matrix theory(RMT).From the distribution of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the correlation matrices of BVP,facial EMG and two EEGs,we find that the statistical properties of these four kinds of signals coincide with the RMT predictions.However,the largest eigenvalue and the corresponding eigenvector component distribution of the correlation matrices of GSR,HR,ECG and Rsp.have deviated significantly from the RMT predictions.Our experiments also reveal that the correlations between two arbitrary samples of BVP,facial EMG or EEGs does not result from affective response but from random noises,whereas the amplitude variations of GSR,HR,ECG and Rsp.contain the correlated affective physiological response patterns.According to the data analysis results of RMT,110 features are firstly extracted from the GSR and HR signals,and then a subset of the initial features is selected by using the Backward Selection algorithm.The affective data samples each of which is a vector of the features are classified by using a Fisher classifier,and furthermore,the user-independent emotion recognition systems with good prediction performance are constructed during the model selection process.WEN WanHui QIU YuHui LIU GuangYuan CHENG NanPu HUANG XiTing 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,9:2
7Engineering the viscoelasticity of gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)hydrogels via small“dynamic bridges”to regulate BMSC behaviors for osteochondral regeneration显示文摘The dynamic extracellular matrix(ECM)constantly affects the behaviors of cells.To mimic the dynamics of ECM with controllable stiffness and energy dissipation,this study proposes a strategy in which a small molecule,3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde(DB),was used as fast'dynamic bridges'to construct viscoelastic gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)-based hydrogels.The storage modulus and loss modulus of hydrogels were independently adjusted by the covalent crosslinking density and by the number of dynamic bonds.The hydrogels exhibited self-healing property,injectability,excellent adhesion and mechanical properties.Moreover,the in vitro results revealed that the viscous dissipation of hydrogels favored the spreading,proliferation,osteogenesis and chondrogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),but suppressed their adipogenesis.RNA-sequencing and immunofluorescence suggested that the viscous dissipation of hydrogels activated Yes-associated protein(YAP)by stabilizing integrinβ1,and further promoted nuclear translocation of smad2/3 andβ-catenin to enhance chondrogenesis and osteogenesis.As a result,the viscoelastic GelMA hydrogels with highest loss modulus showed best effect in cartilage and subchondral bone repair.Taken together,findings from this study reveal an effective strategy to fabricate viscoelastic hydrogels for modulating the interactions between cells and dynamic ECM to promote tissue regeneration.Changjiang Liu Qifan Yu Zhangqin Yuan Qianping Guo Xiting Liao Feng Han Tao Feng Guoping Liu Runze Zhao Zhuang Zhu Haijiao Mao Caihong Zhu Bin Li 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,7:1
8Transition of dynamic recrystallization mechanism during hot deformation of Incoloy 028 alloy显示文摘Dynamic recrystallization(DRX)plays significant roles in manipulating of microstructures during hot deformation and the result mechanical properties;however,the underling mechanism leading to multi scale-microstructures remains poorly understood.Here,the DRX mechanism under wide processing conditions(i.e.950-1200°C,0.001-10 s-1)in Incoloy 028 alloy was investigated,where the relationships among flow stress,Z parameter and grain size,as well as the evolution of characteristic microstructures(grain size,sub-grain boundaries,and high angle grain boundaries),are established.As the values of Z parameters decrease(corresponding to decreased flow stresses),three typical softening mechanisms successively occur,ranging from continuous DRX controlled by dislocation glide,discontinuous DRX dominated by dislocation motion(climb and cross/multiple slip)and grain boundary migration,to dynamic normal/abnormal grain growth resulting from grain boundary migration,with transition regions where two adjacent mechanisms occur simultaneously.Correspondingly,these above three softening mechanisms result in ultrafine,fine and coarse grains,respectively.The present findings demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of DRX mechanism over a wide range of processing conditions,and further provide a new guideline for preparing single crystals.XiTing Zhong Lei Wang LinKe Huang Feng Liu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,7:1

10Changes of Relevant Indexes of Photosynthetic Pigment and Nitrogen Metabolism in Leaves of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. ‘Huaibai' after TAV-free显示文摘[Objective]The paper was to explore effects of Tomato aspermy virus(TAV)-free on chlorophyll content and nitrogen metabolism of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. ‘Huaibai',in order to provide a theoretical basis for field popularization and application of TAV-free‘Huai bai'plantlets. [Method]With previously acquired TAV-free test-tube plantlets of‘Huaibai'as the experimental materials and its ordinary test-tube plantlets as the control(CK),chlorophyll content and some indexes related to nitrogen metabolism in leaves were determined during subculture.[Result]During subculture,the contents of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b in leaves of CK and TAV-free‘Huaibai'test-tube plantlets increased with the subculture days. Both realized the largest increase at the 22^(th) day of subculture,and their increase amplitudes were 5. 24% and 41. 69%,respectively. Compared with CK,the chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b contents of TAV-free test-tube plantlets increased at the same time point of subculture,with significant difference(P < 0. 05) or extremely significant difference(P<0. 01). 13Ex utero intrapartum therapy in infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Objective Previous studies have shown that ex utero intrapartum therapy(EXIT)is safe and feasible for newborns with congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH).This study reports our experience with EXIT in fetuses with CDH in an attempt to explore the efficacy of EXIT on the survival rate of this population.Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 116 children with CDH was conducted.The children were assigned to EXIT and non-EXIT groups.Propensity score matching(PSM)toward clinical data was performed,and the clinical characteristics and outcomes were compared.Taking survival at discharge as the main outcome,logistic regression analysis was carried out to explore the efficacy of EXIT on survival.Results During the study period,30 of 116 children received EXIT.After PSM,the survival rates of the EXIT group and the non-EXIT group were 82.76%(24/29)and 48.28%(14/29),respectively(p=0.006).EXIT(OR=0.083,95%CI=0.013to 0.525,p=0.008),liver herniation(OR=16.955,95%CI=2.342 to 122.767,p=0.005),and gestational age at diagnosis(OR=0.662,95%CI=0.497 to 0.881,p=0.005)were independent mortality-related risk factors of all children with CDH.Ninety-nine of 116 children underwent surgery.After PSM,the postoperative survival rates of the EXIT group and non-EXIT group were 84.6%(22/26)and 76.9%(20/26),respectively(p=0.754).Liver herniation(OR=10.451,95%CI=1.641 to 66.544,p=0.013)and gestational age at diagnosis(OR=0.736,95%CI=0.577 to 0.938,p=0.013)were independent mortality-related risk factors of children after surgery.Conclusion EXIT can be performed safely for selected prenatally diagnosed CDH neonates with potentially better survival and does not cause more maternal complications compared with traditional cesarean section.Yunlong Zhao Ying Wang Chao Liu Yulin Jiang Yandong Wei Hua Meng Shan Jian Xiting Zhu Lijian Pei Xiaochen Bai Feng Feng Yan Lv Xiya Zhou Qingwei Qi Jingna Li Lishuang Ma 2022World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2022,5,4:0

15The effect of iron on the preservation of organic carbon in marine sediments and its implications for carbon sequestration显示文摘Marine sediments are the most significant reservoir of organic carbon(OC)in Earth′s surface system.Iron,a crucial component of the marine biogeochemical cycle,has a considerable impact on marine ecology and carbon cycling.Understanding the effect of iron on the preservation of OC in marine sediments is essential for comprehending biogeochemical processes of carbon and climate change.This review summarizes the methods for characterizing the content and structure of iron-bound OC and explores the influencing mechanism of iron on OC preservation in marine sediments from two aspects:the selective preservation of OC by reactive iron minerals(iron oxides and iron sulfides)and iron redox processes.The selective preservation of sedimentary OC is influenced by different types of reactive iron minerals,OC reactivity,and functional groups.The iron redox process has dual effects on the preservation and degradation of OC.By considering sedimentary records of iron-bound OC across diverse marine environments,the role of iron in long-term preservation of OC and its significance for carbon sequestration are illustrated.Future research should focus on identifying effective methods for extracting reactive iron,the effect of diverse functional groups and marine sedimentary environments on the selective preservation of OC,and the mediation of microorganisms.Such work will help elucidate the influencing mechanisms of iron on the long-term burial and preservation of OC and explore its potential application in marine carbon sequestration to maximize its role in achieving carbon neutrality.Limin HU Yuhan JI Bin ZHAO Xiting LIU Jiazong DU Yantao LIANG Peng YAO 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,9:0

18Chiral carbon dots from glucose by room temperature alkaliassisted synthesis for electrocatalytic oxidation of tryptophan enantiomers显示文摘Chiral catalysis is one of the most direct and effective approach to obtain pure optical enantiomers.Chiral carbon dots(CDs)as carbon-based chiral catalysts show great potential in chiral catalysis.Herein,we report a facile one step base-catalyzed aldol condensation to fabricate the chiral CDs from glucose at ambient temperature and pressure.The formation of chiral CDs involves the processes of isomerization and aldol condensation.These chiral CDs have been demonstrated that they have selective capacity for electrocatalytic oxidization of tryptophan enantiomers.L type of CDs(LCDs)is more likely to catalyze L-tryptophan(Trp)than D-Trp with the selective factor(I_(L)/I_(D))of 1.60,whereas the D type of CDs(DCDs)tends to catalyze D-Trp(I_(L)/I_(D):0.63).Theoretical calculations combined with various contrast experiments(temperature and pH)demonstrate that the selectively electrocatalytic capacity of chiral CDs toward Trp isomers is due to the different hydrogen-bond interactions between chiral CDs and Trp.Mengling Zhang Xing Fan Xin Du Yurong Ma Xiting Wang Hui Huang Yang Liu Youyong Li Zhenhui Kang 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
19Organic Carbon Deposition on the Inner Shelf of the East China Sea Constrained by Sea Level and Climatic Changes Since the Last Deglaciation显示文摘The East China Sea(ECS),which is located in the transitional zone between land and ocean,is the main site for the burial of sedimentary organic carbon.Despite good constraints of the modern source to the sinking process of organic carbon,its fate in response to changes in climate and sea level since the last deglaciation remains poorly understood.We aim to fill this gap by presenting a high-resolution sedimentary record of core EC2005 to derive a better understanding of the evolution of the depositional environment and its control on the organic deposition since 17.3 kyr.Our results suggest that sedimentary organic carbon was deposited in a terrestrial environment before the seawater reached the study area around 13.1 kyr.This significant transition from a terrestrial environment to a marine environment is reflected by the decrease in TOC/TN and TOC/TS ratios,which is attributed to deglacial sea level rise.The sea level continued to rise until it reached its highstand at approximately 7.3 kyr when the mud depocenter was developed.Our results further indicate that the deposition of the sedimentary organic carbon could respond quickly to abrupt cold events,including the Heinrich stadial 1 and the Younger Dryas during the last deglaciation,as well as‘Bond events'during the Holocene.We propose that the rapid response of the organic deposition to those cold events in the northern hemisphere is linked to the East Asian winter monsoon.These new findings demonstrate that organic carbon deposition and burial on the inner shelf could effectively document sea level and climatic changes.ZHANG Mingyu LIU Xiting XU Fangjian LI Anchun GU Yu CHANG Xin ZHUANG Guangchao ZHANG Kaidi BI Naishuang WANG Houjie 2023Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,5:0
20Seismic Geothermal Resource Exploration based on CPU/GPU Collaborative Parallel Prestack Time Migration显示文摘Geothermal resources exist in complex and comprehensive geological settings. In the current study, we proposed a CPU/GPU collaborative parallel prestack time migration methodology for geothermal resource exploration. First, seismic geological conditions in Xian County were obtained based on an analysis of drill cores for further seismic evaluation. Then,combined with the analysis of two-dimensional seismic data in the adjacent area, a test section with three seismic survey lines were designed to explore the geological structure of the study area. In the study area, the seismic data were derived through the multiple coverage reflection wave exploration method with explosive ignition in deep wells and high coverage frequency observations. Finally, we employed CPU/GPU collaborative parallel prestack time migration technology to analyze the obtained seismic data for geothermal resource evaluation.
