1Monitoring and Warning of Landslides and Debris Flows Using an Optical Fiber Sensor Technology显示文摘Landslides and debris flows are typical geo-hazards which occur in hilly or mountainous regions. Debris flows may result from landslides. Geotechnical instrumentation plays an important role in monitoring and warning of landslides and resulted debris flows. Traditional technologies for monitoring landslides and debris flows have certain limitations. The new optical fiber sensors presented in this paper can overcome those limitations. This paper presents two new optical fiber sensor systems: one is the Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG)-based in-place inclinometer for monitoring landslides and the other is the FBG-based column-net system for monitoring debris flows. This paper presents the calibration results of FBG-based in-place inclinometers in laboratory. It is found that the calibration results are in good agreement with theoretical results. Both the FBG-based in-place inclinometers and the FBG-based column-net system have been installed at a site in Weijiagou valley, Beichuan County, Sichuan Province of China. Some preliminary results have been obtained and reported in the paper. 2Characteristics of Earthquake-Triggered Landslides and Post-Earthquake Debris Flows in Beichuan County显示文摘Field investigations and aerial photography after the earthquake of May 12,2008 show a large number of geo-hazards in the zone of extreme earthquake effects.In particular,landslides and debris flows,the geo-hazards that most threaten post-disaster reconstruction,are widely distributed.We describe the characteristics of these geo-hazards in Beichuan County using high-resolution remote sensing of landslide distribution,and the relationships between the area and volume of landslides and the peak-discharges of debris flows both pre-and post-earthquake.The results show:1) The concentration(defined as the number of landslide sources per unit area:Lc) of earthquaketriggered landslides is inversely correlated with distance from the earthquake(DF) fault.The relationship is described by the following equation:Lc = 3.2264exp(-0.0831DF)(R2 = 0.9246);2) 87 % of the earthquake-triggered landslides were less than 15×104 m2 in area,and these accounted only for 50% of the total area;84% of the landslide volumes were less than 60×104 m3,and these accounted only for 50% of the total volume.The probability densities of the area and volume distributions are correlated:landslide abundance increases with landslide area and volume up to maximum values of 5 × 104 m2 and 30 × 104 m3,respectively,and then decreases exponentially.3) The area(AL) and volume(VL) of earthquake-triggered landslides are correlated as described with the following equation:VL=6.5138AL1.0227(R2 = 0.9131);4) Characteristics of the debris flows changed after the earthquake because of the large amount of landslide material deposited in the gullies.Consequently,debris flow peak-discharge increased following the earthquake as described with the following equation:Vpost = 0.8421Vpre1.0972(R2 = 0.9821)(Vpre is the peak discharge of pre-earthquake flows and the Vpost is the peak discharge of post-earthquake flows).We obtained the distribution of the landslides based on the above analyses,as well as the magnitude of both the landslides and the post-earthquake debris flows.The results can be useful for guiding post-disaster reconstruction and recovery efforts,and for the future mitigation of these geo-hazards.However,the equations presented are not recommended for use in site-specific designs.Rather,we recommend their use for mapping regional seismic landslide hazards or for the preliminary,rapid screening of sites.ZHUANG Jianqi CUI Peng HU Kaiheng CHEN Xiaoqing GE Yonggang 2010Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,3:11

5Data-driven estimates of global nitrous oxide emissions from croplands显示文摘Croplands are the single largest anthropogenic source of nitrous oxide(N2O) globally, yet their estimates remain difficult to verify when using Tier 1 and 3 methods of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC). Here, we re-evaluate global cropland-N2O emissions in 1961–2014, using N-rate-dependent emission factors(EFs) upscaled from 1206 field observations in 180 global distributed sites and high-resolution N inputs disaggregated from sub-national surveys covering 15593 administrative units. Our results confirm IPCC Tier 1 default EFs for upland crops in 1990–2014, but give a ~15% lower EF in 1961–1989 and a ~67% larger EF for paddy rice over the full period. Associated emissions(0.82 ±0.34 Tg N yr–1) are probably one-quarter lower than IPCC Tier 1 global inventories but close to Tier 3 estimates. The use of survey-based gridded N-input data contributes 58% of this emission reduction, the rest being explained by the use of observation-based non-linear EFs. We conclude that upscaling N2O emissions from site-level observations to global croplands provides a new benchmark for constraining IPCC Tier 1 and 3 methods. 6Debris flow prevention pattern in national parks Taking the world natural heritage Jiuzhaigou as an example显示文摘With the development of the ecological tourism, how to control debris flow in national parks becomes an urgent problem. The characteristics of prevention of the debris flow in the areas are systematically studied, and a scientific strategy is introduced for dealing with debris flows. In term of the activity attribute of the debris flow and objects protected in Jiuzhaigou, some methods are proposed to arrange the projects of hazard mitigation, and finally an approach is established to carry out the technology in the control of the debris flow scientifically, reasonably and feasibly. Integrating the aforesaid strategy with methods, the pattern of prevention and countermeasures of the debris flow has been theorized, in this way the mitigation hazards engineering is in harmony with the natural view and combined with the ecology. 7Variations of the alpine precipitation from an ice core record of the Laohugou glacier basin during 1960-2006 in western Qilian Mountains, China显示文摘The net accumulation record of ice core is one of the most reliable indicators for reconstructing precipitation changes in high mountains.A 20.12 m ice core was drilled in 2006 from the accumulation zone of Laohugou Glacier No.12 in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau,China.We obtained the precipitation from the ice core net accumulation during 1960-2006,and found out the relationship between Laohugou ice core record and other data from surrounding sites of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.Results showed that during 1960-2006,the precipitation in the high mountains showed firstly an increasing trend,while during 1980 to 2006 it showed an obvious decreasing trend.Reconstructed precipitation change in the Laohugou glacier basin was consistent with the measured data from the nearby weather stations in the lower mountain of Subei,and the correlation coefficient was 0.619(P<0.001).However,the precipitation in the high mountain was about 3 times more than that of the lower mountain.The precipitation in Laohugou Glacier No.12 of the western Qilian Mountains corresponded well to the net accumulation of Dunde ice core during the same period,tree-ring reconstructed precipitation,the measured data of multiple meteorological stations in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau,and also the changes of adjacent PDSI drought index.Precipitation changes of the Laohugou glacier basin and other sites of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau had significantly positive correlation with ENSO,which implied that the regional alpine precipitation change was very likely to be influenced by ENSO.QIN Xiang CUI Xiaoqing DU Wentao DONG Zhiwen REN Jiawen CHEN Jizu 2015Journal of Geographical Sciences2015,25,2:6
8Modified Blumgart anastomosis without pancreatic duct-to-jejunum mucosa anastomosis for pancreatoduodenectomy:a feasible and safe novel technique显示文摘Objective:This study proposed a modified Blumgart anastomosis(m-BA)that uses a firm ligation of the main pancreatic duct with a supporting tube to replace the pancreatic duct-to-jejunum mucosa anastomosis,with the aim of simplifying the complicated steps of the conventional BA(c-BA).Thus,we observe if a difference in the risk of postoperative pancreatic fistula(POPF)exists between the two methods.Methods:The m-BA anastomosis method has been used since 2010.From October 2011 to October 2015,147 patients who underwent pancreatoduodenectomy(PD)using BA in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were enrolled in this study.According to the type of pancreatojejunostomy(PJ),50 patients underwent m-BA and 97 received c-BA.The two patient cohorts were compared prospectively to some extent but not randomized,and the evaluated variables were operation time,the incidence rate of POPF,and other perioperative complications.Results:The operation time showed no significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups,but the time of duct-to-mucosa anastomosis in the m-BA group was much shorter than that in the c-BA group(P<0.001).The incidence rate of clinically relevant POPF was 12.0%(6/50)in the modified group and 10.3%(10/97)in the conventional group(P>0.05),which means that the modified anastomosis method did not cause additional pancreatic leakage.The mean length of postoperative hospital stay of the m-BA group was 23 days,and that of the c-BA group was 22 days(P>0.05).Conclusions:Compared with the conventional BA,we suggest that the modified BA is a feasible,safe,and effective operation method for P J of PD with no sacrifice of surgical quality.In the multivariate analysis,we also found that body massXiaoqing Wang Yang Bai Mangmang Cui Qingxiang Zhang Wei Zhang Feng Fang Tianqiang Song 2018Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,1:6
9Changes in soil microbial community response to precipitation events in a semi-arid steppe of the Xilin River Basin, China显示文摘In the context of climate change, precipitation is predicted to become more intense at the global scale. Such change may alter soil microbial communities and the microbially mediated carbon and nitrogen dynamics. In this study, we experimentally repackaged precipitation patterns during the growing season(from June to September) of 2012 in a semi-arid temperate steppe of the Xilin River Basin in Inner Mongolia of China, based on the 60-year growing season precipitation data. Specifically, a total amount of 240 mm simulated precipitation was assigned to experimental plots by taking the following treatments:(1) P6(6 extreme precipitation events, near the 1^(st) percentile);(2) P10(10 extreme precipitation events, near the 5^(th) percentile);(3) P16(16 moderate precipitation events, near the 50^(th) percentile); and(4) P24(24 events, 60-year average precipitation, near the 50^(th) percentile). At the end of the growing season, we analyzed soil microbial community structure and biomass, bacterial abundance, fungal abundance and bacterial composition, by using phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA), real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR) and 16S rRNA gene clone library methods. The extreme precipitation events did not change soil microbial community structure(represented by the ratio of PLFA concentration in fungi to PLFA concentration in bacteria, and the ratio of PLFA concentration in gram-positive bacterial biomass to PLFA concentration in gram-negative bacterial biomass). However, the extreme precipitation events significantly increased soil microbial activity(represented by soil microbial biomass nitrogen and soil bacterial 16S rRNA gene copy numbers). Soil fungal community showed no significant response to precipitation events. According to the redundancy analysis, both soil microbial biomass nitrogen and soil ammonium nitrogen(NH_4-N) were found to be significant in shaping soil microbial community. Acidobacteria, Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria were the dominant phyla in soil bacterial composition, and responded differently to the extreme precipitation events. 10Chemical Characteristics and Environmental Records of a Snow-Pit at the Glacier No.12 in the Laohugou Valley, Qilian Mountains显示文摘In June 2006, samples were collected from a 90 cm snow-pit at an elevation of 5 040 m a.s.l. in the northern branch firn basin of the Glacier No. 12, Laohugou Valley, in the western part of Qilian Mountain, China. Oxygen isotopes(δ18O) and major soluble ions were measured. Results showed that Ca2+ is the dominant cation, and SO42- is the dominant anion. All major ions have close positive correlations with eachother except NO3- and NH4+. δ18O show positive correlation with air temperature. The method of correlation analysis, sea-salt ion tracer and trend analysis were used to determine the source of the chemical components. 11Heterostructure design of Fe^(3)N alloy/porous carbon nanosheet composites for efficient microwave attenuation显示文摘The self-dissipation and attenuation capacity of materials play an important role in realizing efficient electromagnetic absorption,in this case,the roles of macroscopic composition and micro-structure should be emphasized simultaneously in the reasonable design of microwave absorbent.Given that,Fe_(3)N alloy embedded in two-dimensional porous carbon composites were fabricated via facile sol-gel and sacrificial template methods.Satisfactorily,the magnetic/dielectric materials combination and porous structure introduction are conductive to the optimization of impedance matching property,as result of the enhancement of microwave absorption capacity.In addition,sufficient magnetic loss capacity,strong conductivity as well as polarization attenuation bring about the outstanding microwave absorbing performance with an effective absorption bandwidth of 6.76 GHz and a minimum reflection loss value of-65.6 d B.It is believed that this work not only lay a foundation to achieve microwave response materials in a wide frequency range,but also emphasize the significant role of the component selection and structural design.Weihua Gu Xiaoqing Cui Jing Zheng Jiwen Yu Yue Zhao Guangbin Ji 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,8:3

13Two-dimensional Numerical Model for Debris Flows in the Jiangjia Gully,Yunnan Province显示文摘Debris flows are recurrent natural hazards in many mountainous regions.This paper presents a numerical study on the propagation of debris flows in natural erodible open channels,in which the bed erosion and sedimentation processes are important.Based on the Bingham fluid theory,a mathematical model of the two-dimensional non-constant debris flow is developed.The governing equations include the continuity and momentum conservation equations of debris flow,the sediment convection-diffusion equation,the bed erosion-deposition equation and the bed-sediment size gradation adjustment equation.The yield stress and shear stress components are included to describe the dynamic rheological properties.The upwind control-volume Finite Volume Method (FVM) is applied to discretize the convection terms.The improved SIMPLE algorithm with velocity-free-surface coupled correction is developed to solve the equations on non-orthogonal,quadrilateral grids.The model is applied to simulate a debris flow event in Jiangjia Gully,Yunnan Province and to predict the flow pattern and bed erosion-deposition processes.The results show the effectiveness of the proposed numercial model in debris flow simulation and potential hazard analysis.PENG Hong ZHAO Yanxin CUI Peng ZHANG Wanshun CHEN Xuejiao CHEN Xiaoqing 2011Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,6:3
14Study on washability of microcrystal graphite using float-sink tests显示文摘This article presented an experimental research on washability of microcrystal graphite using float-sink tests.Chemical and X-ray analyses showed that graphite,semi-graphite,meta-anthracite,and anthracite existed together in this microcrystal graphite sample;and the intergrowth relationship between microcrystal graphite and gangues was very complicated based on optical mineralogy research.The results of float-sink tests revealed that:for the-25+0.5 mm size fraction,about 68%(by weight)of microcrystal graphite was obtained at the density of 2.0 g/cm^3.and the float product met the standard of commercial grade W65;for the-0.5 mm size fraction,58%(by weight)of microcrystal graphite was floated at the density of 2.0 g/cm^3,which met the standard of commercial grade W70.It can be concluded that microcrystal graphite may be upgraded by dense media separation(DMS)providing a float product using as the raw materials of casting or refractories.Li Hongqiang Feng Qiming Ou Leming Long Sisi Cui Mengmeng Weng Xiaoqing 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,6:2
15Hydrological Characteristics of the Rongbuk Glacier Catchment in Mt.Qomolangma Region in the Central Himalayas,China显示文摘From 8 April to 11 October in 2005,hydrological observation of the Rongbuk Glacier catchment was carried out in the Mt.Qomolangma (Everest) region in the central Himalayas,China.The results demonstrated that due to its large area with glacier lakes at the tongue of the Rongbuk Glacier,a large amount of stream flow was found at night,which indicates the strong storage characteristic of the Rongbuk Glacier catchment.There was a time lag ranging from 8 to 14 hours between daily discharge peaks and maximum melting (maximum temperature).As melting went on the time lag got shorter.A high correlation was found between the hydrological process and daily temperature during the ablation period.The runoff from April to October was about 80% of the total in the observation period.Compared with the discharge data in 1959,the runoff in 2005 was much more,and the runoff in June,July and August increased by 69%,35% and 14%,respectively.The rising of temperature is a major factor causing the increase in runoff.The discharges from precipitation and snow and ice melting are separated.The discharge induced by precipitation accounts for about 20% of the total runoff,while snow and ice melting for about 80%.LIU Weigang REN Jiawen QIN Xiang LIU Jingshi LIU Qiang CUI Xiaoqing WANG Yetang 2010Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,2:2
16RELATION BETWEEN PRECIPITATION AND INITIATION OF DEBRIS FLOWS IN THE JIANGJIA RAVINE,YUNNAN PROVINCE,SOUTHWEST CHINA显示文摘In the Jiangjia Ravine, debris flows are often triggered by short-duration rainstorms frequently. To reveal the unique initiation process of debris flows, rainfall and debris flow initiation in an upstream area was continually observed. It is concluded that flash floods resulting from short-duration rainstorms play a key role in the initiation of debris flows. Surface runoff forms flash floods due to special topographic conditions. The flash floods mobilize the sediment deposits in the upper section of the branch gullies,hence, high density viscous debris flows initiate. The initiation of debris flows in the Jiangjia Ravine has a close relation with precipitation. Applying the Takahashi model of debris flow initiation, it is concluded that: to mobilize cohesive deposits in the gully bed the depth of flash floods must exceed a critical depth. This critical depth of floods makes the definition of thresholds of rainfall intensity possible. 18Tackling COVID-19:Insights from the Qinghai Province plague prevention and control(PPC)model显示文摘Plague,caused by Yersinia pestis,is a natural focus infectious disease.In China,plague is classified as category A,with the highest risk and hazard among the infectious diseases.Qinghai used to be considered as one of the most serious areas of plague in China.In recent years,thank to the measures in eight aspects summarized as the“Qinghai model”which were adopted to prevent and control the human plague in Qinghai,Qinghai has not experienced any plague case reported for eight years.In early 2020,coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbroke in China.The Qinghai model on plague was employed to deal with the COVID-19 emergency in Qinghai Province.The Qinghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention(Qinghai CDC)and hospitals,along with the departments of public security,animal husbandry and other departments,quickly tracked and treated the patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and started surveillance programs on close contacts timely.At present,the cure rate of patients has reached 100%,and close contacts have been effectively quarantined and tested to avoid the spread of COVID-19.The findings from the study suggest that the prevention and control measures undertaken in Qinghai Province might be effective in dealing with the category A infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and other diseases.Haisheng Wu Qingwen Zhang Hailian Wu Fuzhang Tian Baizhong Cui Zhizhen Qi Xiaoqing Xu Xuefei Zhang HuWang 2020Biosafety and Health2020,2,4:1
19A step-by-step multiple stimuli-responsive metal-phenolic network prodrug nanoparticles for chemotherapy显示文摘Currently,chemotherapy is the main clinical therapy of tumors.Depressingly,most chemotherapeutic drugs such as doxorubicin and paclitaxel(PTX)have poor water solubility,leading to low bioavailability and serious side effects.Till now,although a variety of nanoparticulate drug delivery systems have been designed to ameliorate the above disadvantage of chemotherapy drugs,their application is still severely limited due to the complex preparation,poor stability,low drug loading,and premature drug release.Herein,a metal phenolic network-based drug delivery system with superior stability,satisfactory drug loading capacity,good biocompatibility,reduced undesired premature release,and excellent anti-tumor ability has been established for achieving step-by-step multiple stimuli-responsive drug delivery.Firstly,the redox-responsive dimeric paclitaxel(diPTX)prodrug was synthesized.Then diPTX@Fe&tannic acid(diPTX@Fe&TA)complex nanoparticles with satisfactory PTX loading capacity were obtained by deposition of Fe&TA network complex on the nanocore of diPTX rapidly with a simple method.The diPTX@Fe&TA nanoparticles have a hydrodynamic diameter of 152.6±1.2 nm,long-term colloidal stability,and high PTX loading content of 24.7%.Besides,diPTX@Fe&TA could expose to the acidic lysosomal environment and the reduction cytoplasmic environment continuously,resulting in the sequential release of diPTX and PTX when it was phagocytosed by tumor cells.Meanwhile,PTX showed almost no release under physiological condition(pH 7.4),which effectively inhibited the undesirable premature release of PTX.More importantly,diPTX@Fe&TA could suppress the growth of tumor effectively in vivo,along with negligible toxicity for organs.This work developed a simple and novel approach for the construction of a stepwise multiple stimuli-responsive drug delivery system with superior stability and satisfactory drug loading capacity to inhibit tumor growth effectively.Xiaoqing Yi Weijia Zeng Cui Wang Ying Chen Liangyuan Zheng Xinlin Zhu Yuqiu Ke Xiaoyan He Ying Kuang Qitong Huang 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1
