1Reservoir-induced landslides and risk control in Three Gorges Project on Yangtze River,China显示文摘The Three Gorges region in China was basically a geohazard-prone area prior to construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR).After construction of the TGR,the water level was raised from 70 m to 175 m above sea level(ASL).and annual reservoir regulation has caused a 30-m water level difference after impoundment of the TGR since September 2008.This paper first presents the spatiotemporal distribution of landslides in six periods of 175 m ASL trial impoundments from 2008 to 2014.The results show that the number of landslides sharply decreased from 273 at the initial stage to less than ten at the second stage of impoundment.Based on this,the reservoir-induced landslides in the TGR region can be roughly classified into five failure patterns,i.e.accumulation landslide,dip-slope landslide,reversed bedding landslide,rockfall,and karst breccia landslide.The accumulation landslides and dip-slope landslides account for more than 90%.Taking the Shuping accumulation landslide(a sliding mass volume of 20.7 × 10~6 m^3) in Zigui County and the Outang dip-slope landslide(a sliding mass volume of about 90 × 10~6 m^3) in Fengjie County as two typical cases,the mechanisms of reactivation of the two landslides are analyzed.The monitoring data and factor of safety(FOS) calculation show that the accumulation landslide is dominated by water level variation in the reservoir as most part of the mass body is under 175 m ASL,and the dip-slope landslide is controlled by the coupling effect of reservoir water level variation and precipitation as an extensive recharge area of rainfall from the rear and the front mass is below 175 m ASL.The characteristics of landslide-induced impulsive wave hazards after and before reservoir impoundment are studied,and the probability of occurrence of a landslide-induced impulsive wave hazard has increased in the reservoir region.Simulation results of the Ganjingzi landslide in Wushan County indicate the strong relationship between landslide-induced surge and water variation with high potential risk to shipping and residential areas.Regarding reservoir regulation in TGR when using a single index,i.e.1-d water level variation,water resources are not well utilized,and there is also potential risk of disasters since 2008.In addition,various indices such as 1-d.5-d,and 10-d water level variations are proposed for reservoir regulation.Finally,taking reservoir-induced landslides in June2015 for example,the feasibility of the optimizing indices of water level variations is verified.Yueping Yin Bolin Huang Wenpei Wang Yunjie Wei Xiaohan Ma Fei Ma Changjun Zhao 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,5:45
2Enhanced physicochemical and biological properties of C/Cu dual ions implanted medical titanium显示文摘It is increasingly popular for titanium and its alloys to be utilized as the medical implants.However,their bioinert nature and lack of antibacterial ability limit their applications.In this work,by utilizing plasma immersion ion implantation and deposition(PIII&D)technology,the titanium surface was modified by C/Cu co-implantation.The mechanical property,corrosion resistance,antibacterial ability and cytocompatibility of modified samples were studied.Results indicate that after C/Cu co-implantation,copper nanoparticles were observed on the surface of titanium,and titanium carbide existed on the near surface region of titanium.The modified surface displayed good mechanical property and corrosion resistance.The Cu/C galvanic corrosion existed on the titanium surface implanted by C/Cu dual ions,and release of copper ions can be effectively controlled by the galvanic corrosion effect.Moreover,improved antibacterial performance of titanium surface can be achieved without cytotoxicity.Chao Xia Xiaohan Ma Xianming Zhang Kunqiang Li Ji Tan Yuqin Qiao Xuanyong Liu 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:5
3A transceptor-channel complex couples nitrate sensing to calcium signaling in Ambidopsis显示文摘Nitrate-induced Ca^(2+) signaling is crucial for the primary nitrate response in plants.However,the molecular mechanism underlying the generation of the nitrate-specific calcium signature remains unknown.We report here that a cyclic nucleotide-gated channel(CNGC)protein,CNGC15,and the nitrate transceptor(NRT1.1)constitute a molecular switch that controls calcium influx depending on nitrate levels.The expression of CNGC15 is induced by nitrate,and its protein is localized at the plasma membrane after establishment of young seedlings.We found that disruption of CNGC15 results in the loss of the nitrate-induced Ca^(2+) signature(primary nitrate response)and retards root growth,reminiscent of the phenotype observed in the nrt1.1 mutant.We further showed that CNGC15 is an active Ca^(2+)-permeable channel that physically interacts with the NRT1.1 protein in the plasma membrane.Importantly,we discovered that CNGC15-NRT1.1 interaction silences the channel activity of the heterocomplex,which dissociates upon a rise in nitrate levels,leading to reactivation of the CNGC15 channel.The dynamic interactions between CNGC15 and NRT1.1 therefore control the channel activity and Ca^(2+) influx in a nitrate-dependent manner.Our study reveals a new nutrient-sensing mechanism that utilizes a nutrient transceptor-channel complex assembly to couple nutrient status to a specific Ca^(2+) signature.Xiaohan Wang Changxin Feng LiLi Tian Congcong Hou Wang Tian Bin Hu Qian Zhang Zhijie Ren Qi Niu Jiali Song Dongdong Kong Liangyu Liu Yikun He Ligeng Ma Chengcai Chu Sheng Luan Legong Li 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,5:5
4Routing valley exciton emission of a WS_(2) monolayer via delocalized Bloch modes of in-plane inversion-symmetry-broken photonic crystal slabs显示文摘The valleys of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)offer a new degree of freedom for information processing.To take advantage of this valley degree of freedom,on the one hand,it is feasible to control valleys by utilizing different external stimuli,such as optical and electric fields.On the other hand,nanostructures are also used to separate the valleys by near-field coupling.However,for both of the above methods,either the required low-temperature environment or low degree of coherence properties limit their further applications.Here,we demonstrate that all-dielectric photonic crystal(PhC)slabs without in-plane inversion symmetry(C_(2) symmetry)can separate and route valley exciton emission of a WS2 monolayer at room temperature.Coupling with circularly polarized photonic Bloch modes of such PhC slabs,valley photons emitted by a WS_(2) monolayer are routed directionally and are efficiently separated in the far field.In addition,far-field emissions are directionally enhanced and have long-distance spatial coherence properties.Jiajun Wang Han Li Yating Ma Maoxiong Zhao Wenzhe Liu Bo Wang Shiwei Wu Xiaohan Liu Lei Shi Tian Jiang Jian Zi 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
5Nanostructured strategies towards boosting organic lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Pursuing material development for next-generation batteries,organic electrode materials have shown great potential for lithium-ion batteries.However,their widespread adopting is plagued by intrinsic problems such as poor electronic conductivity,high dissolution inside electrolytes and unstable chemical peculiarity.Recently,nanostructured-strategies promoted organic electrodes with exotic properties for enhancing electron and ion transport together with the stability during electrochemical process,have received increasing attention and have been extensive applied in boosting the organic lithium-ion based energy storage.In this review,we summarize the applications of nanostructures to improve the performance of both organic anodes and cathodes,including(i)nanoscale design of zero-dimensional organic electrode materials,(ii)strategies of one-dimensional nanostructured organic electrode materials,(iii)construction of two-dimensional nanosized organic composite electrodes,and(iv)three-dimensional exploration of nanosized organic electrodes.We hope to stimulate high-quality applied research on understanding and handling the relationship between the nanostructure and performance of organic lithium-ion batteries that might speed up the commercialization of organic lithium ion batteries.Yujing Liu Guoyuan Sun Xiaohan Cai Fan Yang Cong Ma Min Xue Xinyong Tao 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:2
6Enhanced efficiency of graphene-silicon Schottky junction solar cell through inverted pyramid arrays texturation显示文摘Nanostructures of silicon are gradually becoming hot candidate due to outstanding capability for trapping light and improving conversion efficiency of solar cell. In this paper, silicon nanowires(SiNWs) and silicon inverted pyramid arrays(SiIPs) were introduced on surface of Gr-Si solar cell through silver and copper-catalyzed chemical etching, respectively. The effects of SiNWs and SiIPs on carrier lifetime, optical properties and efficiency of Gr-SiNWs and Gr-SiIPs solar cells were systematically analyzed. The results show that the inverted pyramid arrays have more excellent ability for balancing antireflectance loss and surface area enlargement. The power conversion efficiency(PCE) and carrier lifetime of Gr-SiIPs devices respectively increase by 62% and 34% by comparing with that of Gr-SiNWs solar cells. Finally, the Gr-SiIPs cell with PCE of 5.63% was successfully achieved through nitric acid doping. 8Cybertwin-Assisted Mode Selection in Ultra-Dense LEO Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Network显示文摘Ultra-dense low earth orbit(LEO)integrated satellite-terrestrial network(ULISTN)has become an emerging paradigm to support massive access of Internet of things(IoT)in beyond fifth generation mobile networks(B5G).In ULISTN,there are two communication modes:cellular mode and satellite mode,where IoT users assessing terrestrial small base stations(TSBSs)and terrestrial-satellite terminals(TSTs)respectively.However,how to optimize the network performance and guarantee self-interests of the operator and IoT users in ULISTN is a challenging issue.In this paper,we propose a cybertwin-assisted joint mode selection and dynamic pricing(JMSDP)scheme for effective network management in ULISTN,where cybertwin serves as the intelligent agent.In JMSDP,the operator determines optimal access prices of TSBSs and TSTs,while each user selects the access mode according to access prices.Specifically,the operator conducts the Stackelberg game aiming at maximizing average throughput depending on the mode selection results of IoT users.Meanwhile,IoT users as followers adopt the evolutionary game to choose an access mode based on the access prices provided by the operator.Simulation results show that the proposed JMSDP can improve the average throughput and reduce the delay effectively,comparing with random access(RA)and maximum rate access.Xin Zhang Bo Qian Xiaohan Qin Ting Ma Jiachen Chen Haibo Zhou Xuemin(Sherman)Shen 2022Journal of Communications and Information Networks2022,7,4:1

10A chloride efflux transporter,BIG RICE GRAIN 1,is involved in mediating grain size and salt tolerance in rice显示文摘Grain size is determined by the size and number of cells in the grain.The regulation of grain size is crucial for improving crop yield;however,the genes and molecular mechanisms that control grain size remain elusive.Here,we report that a member of the detoxification efflux carrier/Multidrug and Toxic Compound Extrusion(DTX/MATE)family transporters,BIG RICE GRAIN 1(BIRG1),negatively influences grain size in rice(Oryza sativa L.).BIRG1 is highly expressed in reproductive organs and roots.In birg1 grain,the outer parenchyma layer cells of spikelet hulls are larger than in wild-type(WT)grains,but the cell number is unaltered.When expressed in Xenopus laevis oocytes,BIRG1 exhibits chloride efflux activity.Consistent with this role of BIRG1,the birg1 mutant shows reduced tolerance to salt stress at a toxic chloride level.Moreover,grains from birg1 plants contain a higher level of chloride than those of WT plants when grown under normal paddy field conditions,and the roots of birg1 accumulate more chloride than those of WT under saline conditions.Collectively,the data suggest that BIRG1 in rice functions as a chloride efflux transporter that is involved in mediating grain size and salt tolerance by controlling chloride homeostasis.Zhijie Ren Fenglin Bai Jingwen Xu Li Wang Xiaohan Wang Qian Zhang Changxin Feng Qi Niu Liying Zhang Jiali Song Fang Bao Liangyu Liu Yikun He Ligeng Ma Wang Tian Congcong Hou Legong Li 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,12:1
11UltraStar:A Lightweight Simulator of Ultra-Dense LEO Satellite Constellation Networking for 6G显示文摘The mega-constellation network has gained significant attention recently due to its great potential in providing ubiquitous and high-capacity connectivity in sixth-generation(6G)wireless communication systems.However,the high dynamics of network topology and large scale of mega-constellation pose new challenges to the constellation simulation and performance evaluation.In this paper,we introduce UltraStar,a lightweight network simulator,which aims to facilitate the complicated simulation for the emerging mega-constellation of unprecedented scale.Particularly,a systematic and extensible architecture is proposed,where the joint requirement for network simulation,quantitative evaluation,data statistics and visualization is fully considered.For characterizing the network,we make lightweight abstractions of physical entities and models,which contain basic representatives of networking nodes,structures and protocol stacks.Then,to consider the high dynamics of Walker constellations,we give a two-stage topology maintenance method for constellation initialization and orbit prediction.Further,based on the discrete event simulation(DES)theory,a new set of discrete events is specifically designed for basic network processes,so as to maintain network state changes over time.Finally,taking the first-generation Starlink of 11927 low earth orbit(LEO)satellites as an example,we use UltraStar to fully evaluate its network performance for different deployment stages,such as characteristics of constellation topology,performance of end-to-end service and effects of network-wide traffic interaction.The simulation results not only demonstrate its superior performance,but also verify the effectiveness of UltraStar.Xiaoyu Liu Ting Ma Zhixuan Tang Xiaohan Qin Haibo Zhou Xuemin(Sherman)Shen 2023IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2023,10,3:1
12肝脏移植术后糖尿病患者肠道微生物组的变化显示文摘Post-transplant diabetes mellitus(PTDM)increases the risk of graft failure and death in liver transplant(LT)recipients.Experimental studies have indicated that enteric dysbiosis mediated by immunosuppressive tacrolimus(TAC)could contribute to glucose disorders,but no data on human recipients with PTDM have been reported.Here,by combining high-throughput shotgun metagenomics sequencing and metabolomics profiling,we characterized the intestinal microbiome(IM)in LT recipient cohort with or without PTDM and deciphered the potential relationship among IM,TAC dosage,and diabetes.By comparing with both non-PTDM and classical type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),we identified microbial signatures of PTDM,which was characterized by the enriched Proteobacteria and decreased Bacteroidetes.Additionally,the altered microbes,as well as the microbial metabolomics,correlated with the dosage of TAC.Specifically,the levels of beneficial microbes associated with PTDM were lowered in recipients with the high TAC trough concentrations(>5 ng·mL^(-1))than those with low ones(<5 ng·mL^(-1)),which was accompanied by reduced faecal metabolites involved in the biosynthesis of a-linolenic acid and arachidonic acid-lowering factors of developing T2DM.Moreover,these microbial signatures linked with the extent of glucose disorders in LT recipients.In summary,the faecal microbiome and metabolome differed between PTDM and non-PTDM patients,which were linked with TAC dosage.This study was the first to explore taxonomic alterations and bacterial gene functions to better understand the contribution of the IM to PTDM.Qi Ling Yuqiu Han Yue Ma Xiaosen Wang Zheng Zhu Jingyu Wang Jiaying Cao Lin Xiaohan Jun Wang Baohong Wang 2023Engineering2023,31,12:0
13Levelized costs of the energy chains of new energy vehicles targeted at carbon neutrality in China显示文摘The diffusion of new energy vehicles(NEVs),such as battery electric vehicles(BEVs)and fuel cell vehicles(FCVs),is critical to the transportation sector's deep decarbonization.The cost of energy chains is an important factor in the diffusion of NEVs.Although researchers have addressed the technological learning effect of NEVs and the life cycle emissions associated with the diffusion of NEVs,little work has been conducted to analyze the life cycle costs of different energy chains associated with different NEVs in consideration of technological learning potential.Thus,relevant information on investment remains insufficient to promote the deployment of NEVs.This study proposes a systematic framework that includes various(competing or coordinated)energy chains of NEVs formed with different technologies of power generation and transmission,hydrogen production and transportation,power-to-liquid fuel,and fuel transportation.The levelized costs of three typical carbon-neutral energy chains are investigated using the life cycle cost model and considering the technological learning effect.Results show that the current well-to-pump levelized costs of the energy chains in China for BEVs,FCVs,and internal combustion engine vehicles(ICEVs)are approximately 3.60,4.31,and 2.21 yuan/GJ,respectively,and the well-to-wheel levelized costs are 4.50,6.15,and 7.51 yuan/GJ,respectively.These costs primarily include raw material costs and they vary greatly for BEVs and FCVs from resource and consumer costs.In consideration of the technological learning effect,the energy chains'well-to-wheel levelized costs are expected todecrease by 24.82%for BEVs,27.12%for FCVs,and 19.25%for ICEVs by 2060.This work also summarizes policy recommendations on developing energy chains to promote the diffusion of NEVs in China.Xiaohan QIU Jinyang ZHAO Yadong YU Tieju MA 2022Frontiers of Engineering Management2022,9,3:0

16Gravity-Dependent Animacyy Perception in Zebrafish显示文摘Biological motion(BM),depicted by a handful of point lights attached to the major joints,conveys rich animacy information,which is significantly disrupted if BM is shown upside down.This well-known inversion effect in BM perception is conserved in terrestrial vertebrates and is presumably a manifestation of an evolutionarily endowed perceptual filter(i.e.,life motion detector)tuned to gravity-compatible BM.However,it remains unknown whether aquatic animals,living in a completely different environment from terrestrial animals,perceive BM in a gravity-dependent manner.Here,taking advantage of their typical shoaling behaviors,we used zebrafish as a model animal to examine the ability of teleosts to discriminate between upright(gravity-compatible)and inverted(gravity-incompatible)BM signals.We recorded their swimming trajectories and quantified their preference based on dwelling time and head orientation.The results obtained from three experiments consistently showed that zebrafish spent significantly more time swimming in proximity to and orienting towards the upright BM relative to the inverted BM or other gravity-incompatible point-light stimuli(i.e.,the non-BM).More intriguingly,when the recorded point-light video clips of fish were directly compared with those of human walkers and pigeons,we could identify a unique and consistent pattern of accelerating movements in the vertical(gravity)direction.These findings,to our knowledge,demonstrate for the first time the inversion effect in BM perception in simple aquatic vertebrates and suggest that the evolutionary origin of gravity-dependent BM processing may be traced back to ancient aquatic animals.Xiaohan Ma Xiangyong Yuan Jiahuan Liu Li Shen Yiwen Yu Wen Zhou Zuxiang Liu Yi Jiang 2023Research2023,,1:0

20Two approaches for calculating female fetal DNA fraction in noninvasive prenatal testing based on size analysis of maternal DNA fragments显示文摘The concentration of cell-free fetal DNA fragments should be detected before noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT).The fetal DNA molecules have significant clinical potential in determining the overall performance of NIPT and clinical interpretation.It is important to measure fetal DNA fraction before NIPT.However,there is still little research on how to calculate the concentration of female fetuses.Two estimation approaches were proposed to calculate fetal DNA fraction,including the fragments size-based approach,aneuploid-based approach,which are all approaches based on chromosome segments.Based on high-throughput sequencing data,two approaches to calculate the DNA fraction of male fetuses were tested and obtained the experiment values,which were close to the actual values.The correlation coefficient of fragments size-based approach was 0.9243(P<0.0001)and the aneuploid-based approach reached 0.9339(P<0.0001).We calculated the concentration of female fetuses and obtained remarkable experimental results.We came up with two approaches for calculating the fetal DNA fraction of female fetuses.It provides an important theoretical basis for the detection of female fetal concentration in future clinical diagnosis.JIANBO LU XIAOHAN SUN XU MA 2022BIOCELL2022,46,1:0
