1Emission factors, ozone and secondary organic aerosol formation potential of volatile organic compounds emitted from industrial biomass boilers显示文摘To evaluate the potential benefits of biomass use for air pollution control, this paper identified and quantified the emissions of major reactive organic compounds anticipated from biomass-fired industrial boilers. Wood pellets(WP) and straw pellets(SP) were burned to determine the volatile organic compound emission profiles for each biomass-boiler combination. More than 100 types of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) were measured from the two biomass boilers. The measured VOC species included alkanes, alkenes and acetylenes, aromatics, halocarbons and carbonyls. A single coal-fired boiler(CB) was also studied to provide a basis for comparison. Biomass boiler 1(BB1) emitted relatively high proportions of alkanes(28.9%–38.1% by mass) and alkenes and acetylenes(23.4%–40.8%),while biomass boiler 2(BB2) emitted relatively high proportions of aromatics(27.9%–29.2%)and oxygenated VOCs(33.0%–44.8%). The total VOC(TVOC) emission factors from BB1(128.59–146.16 mg/kg) were higher than those from BB2(41.26–85.29 mg/kg). The total ozone formation potential(OFP) ranged from 6.26 to 81.75 mg/m^3 with an average of 33.66 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers. The total secondary organic aerosol potential(SOAP) ranged from 61.56 to 211.67 mg/m^3 with an average of 142.27 mg/m^3 for the two biomass boilers.The emission factors(EFs) of TVOCs from biomass boilers in this study were similar to those for industrial coal-fired boilers with the same thermal power. 2Hydrogen production by reforming methane in a corona inducing dielectric barrier discharge and catalyst hybrid reactor显示文摘A novel corona inducing dielectric barrier discharge(CIDBD) and catalyst hybrid reactor was developed for reforming methane. This corona inducing technique allows dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) to occur uniformly in a large gap at relatively low applied voltage.Hydrogen production by reforming methane with steam and air was investigated with the hybrid reactor under atmospheric pressure and temperatures below 600°C.The effects of input power,O2/C molar ratio and preheat temperature on methane conversion and hydrogen selectivity were investigated experimentally.It was found that higher methane conversions were obtained at higher discharge power,and methane conversion increased significantly with input power less than 50 W;the optimized molar ratio of O2/C was 0.6 to obtain the highest hydrogen selectivity(112%);under the synergy of dielectric barrier discharge and catalyst,methane conversion was close to the thermodynamic equilibrium conversion rate.ZHOU ZhiPeng ZHANG JiMin YE TaoHong ZHAO PingHui XIA WeiDong 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,20:6
3Progress of Antarctic meteorite survey and research in China显示文摘More than 50000 meteorite samples have been collected in Antarctica since 1969, making meteorite surveys a very important aspect of Antarctic expeditions. The Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition has collected more than 12000 meteorites in the Grove Mountains region, where has been confirmed as one of the richest meteorite concentration sites in Antarctica. China, therefore, possesses one of the world's largest Antarctic meteorite collections and has made substantial contributions to this field of research. We summarize here the Chinese meteorite survey efforts in the Grove Mountains, as well as discuss progress of the classification and investigation of Grove Mountains meteorites. 4Meteorite classification for building the Chinese Antarctic Meteorite Depository Introduction of the classification of 500 Grove Mountains meteorites显示文摘Meteorites provide an important window into the origins and evolution of the solar system. Since the first four meteorites were recovered in Grove Mountains, Antarctica, in 1998, a further total of 12665 meteorites have been collected over seven polar seasons in the Grove Mountains. All of these meteorites are owned and managed by the Chinese Antarctic Meteorite Depository(CAMD) at the Polar Research Institute of China(PRIC). In recent years, another 500 Antarctic meteorites have been classified and characterized based on mineralogy and petrology. In this work we examine four samples that have been identified as terrestrial, and a further 496 samples that have been confirmed as meteorites. These meteorites are further divided into different types:488 ordinary chondrites, one eucrite, one ureilite, one CM2 carbonaceous chondrite, one EH4 enstatite chondrite, one mesosiderite and three iron meteorites. 6Input-Occupancy-Output Analysis of Industrial Wastewater Discharge Coeffcients and Backward and Forward Linkages: Multi-Regional Occupancy显示文摘This paper provides an extended input-occupancy-output analysis of wastewater discharge coeffcients, as well as backward and forward linkages of Chinese multi-regional industrial sectors in2007. The results show that the direct and total industrial wastewater discharge coeffcients of most of the provincial industrial sectors in China's Eastern region are lower than those of the whole country.Both backward and forward linkages of ?xed-asset occupancy in industrial sectors in China's Central and Western regions are strong. 7Linking moisture and near-surface wind with winter temperature to reveal the Holocene climate evolution in arid Xinjiang region of China显示文摘An increasing number of palaeo-climatic records have been reported to identify the Holocene climate history in the arid Xinjiang region of northwest China. However, few studies have fully considered the internal linkages within the regional climate system, which may limit our understanding of the forcing mechanisms of Holocene climate change in this region. Here, we systematically consider three major issues of the moisture/precipitation, temperature and near-surface wind relevant to the Holocene climate history of Xinjiang. First, despite there still has debated for the Holocene moisture evolution in this region, more climatic reconstructions from lake sediments, loess, sand-dunes and peats support a long-term regional wetting trend. Second, temperature records from ice cores, peats and stalagmites demonstrate a long-term winter warming trend during the Holocene in middle-to high-latitudes of Asia. Third, recent studies of aeolian sedimentary sequences reveal that the near-surface winds in winter gradually weakened during the Holocene, whereas the winter mid-latitude Westerlies strengthened in the Tienshan Mountains. Based on this evidence, in the arid Xinjiang region we propose an early to middle Holocene relatively cold and dry interval, with strong near-surface winds;and a warmer, wetter interval with weaker near-surface winds in the middle to late Holocene during winter. Additionally,we develop a conceptual model to explain the pattern of Holocene climate changes in this region.From the early to the late Holocene, the increasing atmospheric COcontent and winter insolation,and the shrinking of high-latitude continental ice-sheets, resulted in increasing winter temperatures in middle to high latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. Subsequently, the increased winter temperature strengthened the winter mid-latitude Westerlies and weakened the Siberian high-pressure system,which caused an increase in winter precipitation and a decrease in near-surface wind strength. This scenario is strongly supported by evidence from geological records, climate simulation results, and modern reanalysis data. 8The importance of coil conductivity and eddy current effects in the analysis of electromagnetic forming process显示文摘Coil design and performance analysis are critical for the electromagnetic forming(EMF)process.However,previous studies have paid little attention to the coil con-ductivity,and the influence of eddy current effects in coil conductors on the forming process has not been well understood.This work aims to address these problems through numerical and experimental investigations.It is found that,due to the eddy current effects,the uneven current distribution appears in the coil conductors that should be considered when analysing the forming process,especially for the cases with large heights of coil conductors.Meanwhile,an important and interesting discovery is that the eddy current effects can greatly reduce the sensitivity of the coil conductivity with respect to the workpiece deformation,the Joule heating and the temperature rise in the coil.For instance,compared to a forming system with a copper coil,the forming height of the workpiece in the forming system with an AA5083‐O coil is reduced by less than 5%under the same discharge energy,while the copper conductivity is 3.3 times that of the latter.These results are helpful to understand the EMF process and achieve the optimal design of coils.Quanliang Cao Liangyu Xia Xian Li Limeng Du Zhipeng Lai Xiaotao Han Liang Li 2022High Voltage2022,7,2:1
9Distributional patterns of soil nematodes in relation to environmental variables in forest ecosystems显示文摘Understanding biodiversity and biogeographic distribution of soil fauna is an important topic in ecology.While nematode communities have been compared among ecosystems,knowledge remains limited about how environmental factors and nematode distributions are linked at different spatial scales.Hare,we employed high-throughput sequencing to compare nematode communities in tropical(Xishuangbanna),subtropical(Ailaoshan),and cold temperate spruce-fir(Lijiang)forest ecosystems with identical spatial sampling.Relationships between nematode communities and environmental factors were analyzed using redundancy analysis(RDA).Our results showed that nematode richness and diversity peaked in Xishuangbanna;however,no significant differences were observed in other two forest ecosystems.Bacterial feeders and Omnivores/Camivores(Om&Ca)had the lowest relative abundance,but the highest diversity,in Xishuangbanna,with the opposite pattem being detected for fungal and plant feeders.Our data also demonstrated that,for forest ecosystems,climate factors drive nematode communities distributions at the regional scale,while terrain and soil characteristics(including pH and nutrients)drive nematode communities distributions at local scales.This study improves our current understanding of key factors(environmental parameters)responsible for the biogeographical distribution of forest nematode communities at different spatial scales.HAIFENG XIAO WENTING WANG SHANGWEN XIA Zhipeng Li Jianmin Gan Xiaodong Yang 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,2:1
10Lunar meteorites: witnesses of the composition and evolution of the Moon显示文摘Lunar meteorites are fragments of the Moon that escaped the gravity of the Moon following high-energy impacts by asteroids,subsequently fell to Earth.An inventory of 165 lunar meteorites has been developed since the discovery and identification of the first lunar meteorite,ALHA 81005,in 1979.Although the Apollo samples are much heavier in mass than lunar meteorites,the meteorites are still an important sample supplement for scientific research on the composition and history of the Moon.Apart from a small amount of unbrecciated crystalline rocks,the majority of lunar meteorites are breccias that can be classified into three groups:highland feldspathic breccia,mare basaltic breccia,and mingled(including fledspathic and basaltic clasts)breccia.The petrography of lunar rocks suggests that there are a series of rock types of anorthosite,basalt,gabbro,troctolite,norite and KREEP in the Moon.Although KREEP is rare in lunar rocks,KREEP components have been found in the increasing number of lunar meteorites.KREEP provides important information on lunar magmatic evolution,e.g.,the VHK KREEP clasts in SaU 169 may represent the pristine lunar magma(urKREEP).Six launching pairs of lunar meteorites have been proposed now,along with ten possible lunar launching sites.In addition,symplectite is often found in lunar basalts,which is a significant record of shock metamorphism on the lunar surface.Furthermore,isotopic ages and noble gases not only provide information on crystallization processes in lunar rocks and the formation of lunar crust,but also provide insight into shock events on the lunar surface.MIAO Bingkui CHEN Hongyi XIA Zhipeng YAO Jie XIE Lanfang NI Wenjun ZHANG Chuantong 2014Advances in Polar Science2014,25,2:1

13Petrography and mineralogy of new lunar meteorite MIL090036显示文摘MIL090036 is a previously unknown meteorite(a feldspathic lunar breccia) that was discovered in Antarctica. The detailed petrography and mineralogy of this meteorite forms the subject of this paper. It has a typical clastic texture that consists of various types of rock debris(e.g. anorthosite, gabbroic anorthosite, gabbro, regolith breccia, troctolite, microporphyritic crystalline impact melt and compound clasts), mineral crystal fragments(e.g. pyroxenes, plagioclase, olivine and ilmenite) and feldspathic glass clasts. The fine-grained recrystallized minerals and mineral clasts are cemented together in a glassy groundmass. The anorthite content of plagioclase in the gabbro(An81-83) and anorthosite(An88-93) both have relatively low calcium content compared to those from other breccias(An90-98). The pyroxene composition(Fs12-35 Wo3-44 En22-79) in the rock debris, crystal mineral clasts and anorthositic glass clasts are relatively iron-deficient compared to those from gabbro debris with melt glass(Fs37-65 Wo10-29 En21-49) and groundmass(Fs18-69 Wo3-45 En14-50). In contrast, the pyroxene grains in the gabbroic anorthosite display a narrow compositional range(Fs24-27 Wo7-14 En59-69). Olivine grains in mineral fragments and the groundmass have a wider compositional range(Fo57-79) than those in the rock debris(Fo67-77). The Fe/Mn ratio in olivine is in the range of 47 to 83(average 76) and 76 to 112(average 73) in pyroxenes, and hence classify within the lunar field. The characteristics of texture, mineral assemblage and compositions suggest that MIL090036 possibly originated from a region beyond that of the Apollo and Luna samples. 18MLL1 inhibits the neurogenic potential of SCAPs by interacting with WDR5 and repressing HES1显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)-based therapy has emerged as a promising treatment for spinal cord injury(SCI),but improving the neurogenic potential of MSCs remains a challenge.Mixed lineage leukemia 1(MLL1),an H3K4me3 methyltransferases,plays a critical role in regulating lineage-specific gene expression and influences neurogenesis.In this study,we investigated the role and mechanism of MLL1 in the neurogenesis of stem cells from apical papilla(SCAPs).We examined the expression of neural markers,and the nerve repair and regeneration ability of SCAPs using dynamic changes in neuron-like cells,immunofluorescence staining,and a SCI model.We employed a coimmunoprecipitation(Co-IP)assay,real-time RT-PCR,microarray analysis,and chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)assay to investigate the molecular mechanism.The results showed that MLL1 knock-down increased the expression of neural markers,including neurogenic differentiation factor(NeuroD),neural cell adhesion molecule(NCAM),tyrosine hydroxylase(TH),βIII-tubulin and Nestin,and promoted neuron-like cell formation in SCAPs.In vivo,a transplantation experiment showed that depletion of MLL 1 in SCAPs can restore motor function in a rat SCI model.MLL1 can combine with WD repeat domain 5(WDR5)and WDR5 inhibit the expression of neural markers in SCAPs.MLL1 regulates Hairy and enhancer of split 1(HES1)expression by directly binds to HES1 promoters via regulating H3K4me3 methylation by interacting with WDR5.Additionally,HES1 enhances the expression of neural markers in SCAPs.Our findings demonstrate that MLL1 inhibits the neurogenic potential of SCAPs by interacting with WDR5 and repressing HES1.These results provide a potential therapeutic target for promoting the recovery of motor function in SCI patients.Chen Zhang Weilong Ye Mengyao Zhao Lujue Long Dengsheng Xia Zhipeng Fan 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,4:0
19Response of silicate chemical composition variation on thermal metamorphism of ordinary chondrites and classification of petrologic types:the case of L chondrites from Grove Mountains,Antarctica显示文摘Analysis of the thermal metamorphism of the ordinary chondrites is a key premise for gaining insights into the accretion and heating of rocky bodies in the early solar system.Such an analysis also represents an essential condition for constraining the early thermal and evolutionary histories of asteroids and terrestrial planets.Classifying ordinary chondrites into petrologic type(type 3–6)is the criterion for studying the thermal metamorphism of their parent bodies.However,the boundary between the unequilibrated(type 3)and equilibrated(type 4–6)chondrites is ambiguous at present,thus,limiting the understanding of their thermal metamorphism.In this study,the petrology,mineralogy and chemical composition of a set of seven ordinary chondrites with different degrees of thermal metamorphism collected from Grove Mountains(Antarctica)have been studied.The results demonstrated that these chondrite samples were L3.7,L3.8,L3.9,L3.9/4,L4,L5 and L6 type meteorites,with optimal correlations of Si,Mg,Fe,Mn and Ca with equilibrium degree of the olivine and low-calcium pyroxene and petrologic type.In this respect,the multi-parameter classification standard PMD(SiO2)-PMD(MgO)-PMD(MnO)-PMD(CaO)based on the percent mean deviation(PMD)of the chemical compositions of the olivine and low-calcium pyroxene was proposed to distinguish between the unequilibrated and equilibrated meteorites.The proposed standard exhibited high“resolution”in terms of classification,thus,also deepening the understanding of the effect of the silicate mineral composition in the thermal metamorphism of chondrites.Highlights The chemical groups and petrologic types of the selected seven Antarctic chondrites were L3.7,L3.8,L3.9,L3.9/4,L4,L5 and L6.A new method for petrologic type classification is proposed to distinguish the unequilibrated and equilibrated chondrites.The above developed multi-parameter system exhibited high“resolution”in terms of classification.Chuantong Zhang Bingkui Miao Zhipeng Xia Qinglin Xie 2021Acta Geochimica2021,40,6:0
