| 1 | A combined application of micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction in a high-load compressor cascade显示文摘In the current study, the effects of a combined application between micro-vortex generator and boundary layer suction on the flow characteristics of a high-load compressor cascade are investigated. The micro-vortex generator with a special configuration and the longitudinal suction slot are adopted. The calculated results show that a reverse flow region, which is considered the main reason for occurring stall at 7.9° incidence, grows and collapses rapidly near the leading edge and leads to two critical points occurring on the end-wall with the increasing incidence in the baseline. As the micro-vortex generator is introduced in the baseline cascade, the corner separation is switched to a trailing edge separation by the thrust from the induced vortex. Meanwhile, the occurrence of failure is delayed due to the mixed low energy fluid and main flow. The synergistic effects between the micro-vortex generator and the boundary layer suction on the performance of the cascade are superior to the baseline at all the incidence conditions before the occurrence of failure, and the sudden deterioration of the cascade occurs at 10.3° incidence. The optimal results show that the farther upstream suction position, the lower total pressure loss of the cascade with vortex generator at the near stall condition. | 3 | Experimental and numerical study of tip injection in a subsonic axial flow compressor显示文摘Parametric study of tip injection was implemented experimentally on a subsonic axial flow compressor to understand the underlying flow mechanisms of stability improvement of the compressor with discrete tip injection.Injector throat height varied from 2 to 6 times the height of rotor tip clearance,and circumferential coverage percentage ranged from 8.3% to 25% of the annulus.Static pressure fluctuations over the rotor tip were measured with fast-response pressure transducers.Whole-passage time-accurate simulations were also carried out to help us understand the flow details.The combinations of tip injection with traditional casing treatments were experimentally studied to generate an engineering-acceptable method of compressor stall control.The results indicate that the maximum stability improvement is achieved when injectors are choked despite their different sizes.The effect of circumferential coverage percentage on compressor stability depends on the value of injector throat height for un-choked injectors,and vice versa.Tip blockage in the blade passage is greatly reduced by the choked injectors,which is the primary reason for stability enhancement.The accomplishment of blockage diminishment is maintained in the circumferential direction with the unsteady effect of tip injection,which manifests as a hysteresis between the recovery of tip blockage and the recovery of tip leakage vortex.The unsteady effect is primarily responsible for the effectiveness of tip injection with a partial circumferential coverage.Tip injection cannot enhance the stability of the rotor with axial slots significantly,but it can improve the stability of the rotor with circumferential grooves further.The combined structure of tip injection with circumferential grooves is an alternative for engineering application. | Wei WANG Wuli CHU Haoguang ZHANG Haiyang KUANG | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,3: | 7 |
| 4 | Numerical Investigation of the Unsteady Tip Leakage Flow and Rotating Stall Inception in a Transonic Compressor显示文摘It is well known that tip leakage flow has a strong effect on the compressor performance and stability. This paper reports on a numerical investigation of detailed flow structures in an isolated transonic compressor rotor-NASA Rotor 37 at near stall and stalled conditions aimed at improving understanding of changes in 3D tip leakage flow structures with rotating stall inception.Steady and unsteady 3D Navier-Stokes analyses were conducted to investigate flow structures in the same rotor.For steady analysis,the predicted results agree well with the experimental data for the estimation of compressor rotor global performance.For unsteady flow analysis, the unsteady flow nature caused by the breakdown of the tip leakage vortex in blade tip region in the transonic compressor rotor at near stall condition has been captured with a single blade passage.On the other hand, the time-accurate unsteady computations of multi-blade passage at near stall condition indicate that the unsteady breakdown of the tip leakage vortex triggered the short length-scale-spike type rotating stall inception at blade tip region.It was the forward spillage of the tip leakage flow at blade leading edge resulting in the spike stall inception. | 5 | Synthesis and biological evaluation of 12-N-p-chlorobenzyl sophoridinol derivatives as a novel family of anticancer agents显示文摘Taking 12-N-p-chlorobenzyl sophoridinol 2 as a lead, a series of novel sophoridinic derivatives with various 30-substituents at the 11–side chain were synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer activity from sophoridine(1), a natural antitumor medicine. Among them, the sophoridinic ketones 5a–b, alkenes 7a–b and sophoridinic amines 14a–b displayed reasonable antiproliferative activity with IC50 values ranging from 3.8 to 5.4 μmol/L. Especially, compounds 5a and 7b exhibited an equipotency in both adriamycin(AMD)-susceptible and resistant MCF-7 breast carcinoma cells,indicating a different mechanism from AMD. The primary mechanism of action of 5a was to arrest the cell cycle at the G0/G1 phase, consistent with that of parent compound 1. | 7 | The novel ER stress inducer Sec C triggers apoptosis by sulfating ER cysteine residues and degrading YAP via ER stress in pancreatic cancer cells显示文摘Pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PAAD) is one of the most lethal malignancies. Although gemcitabine(GEM) is a standard treatment for PAAD, resistance limits its application and therapy. Secoemestrin C(Sec C) is a natural compound from the endophytic fungus Emericella, and its anticancer activity has not been investigated since it was isolated. Our research is the first to indicate that Sec C is a broad-spectrum anticancer agent and could exhibit potently similar anticancer activity both in GEM-resistant and GEM-sensitive PAAD cells. Interestingly, Sec C exerted a rapid growth-inhibiting effect(80% death at 6 h), which might be beneficial for patients who need rapid tumor shrinkage before surgery. Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry and N-acetyl-L-cysteine(NAC) reverse assays show that Sec C sulfates cysteines to disrupt disulfide-bonds formation in endoplasmic reticulum(ER) proteins to cause protein misfolding, leading to ER stress and disorder of lipid biosynthesis. Microarray data and subsequent assays show that ER stress-mediated ER-associated degradation(ERAD) ubiquitinates anddownregulates YAP to enhance ER stress via destruction complex(YAP-Axin-GSK-βTr CP), which also elucidates a unique degrading style for YAP. | 8 | Salmonella typhimurium strain SL7207 induces apoptosis and inhibits the growth of HepG2 hepatoma cells in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Salmonella typhimurium is probably most extensively studied tumor-targeting bacteria and SL7207 is one of its attenuated strains.SL7207 was first made for bacterial vaccine development and its therapeutic efficacy and safety for hepatoellular carcinoma has not been characterized.In this study,the inhibitory ability of SL 7207-lux on human hepatoma HepG2 cells was tested in vitro and in vivo.A bacterial luminescent gene cluster(lux CDA BE)was transfected into SL7207 to better monitor the invasion of the bacteria.The results show that SL7207-lux can rapidly enter HepG2 cells and localize in the cytoplasm.This invasion represses ell proliferation and induces apoptosis.In vivo real-time invasion studies showed that the bacteria gradually accumulate in the tumor.This enrichment was confirmed by anatomic observation at 5 days after inoculation.About 40%of tumor growth was inhibited by SL7207-lxx at 34 days post-treatment without significant loss of body weight.The area of necrosis of tumor tissue was clearly increased in the treated group.Bacterial quantification showed that the number of colony-forming units per gram of bacteria within tumor tissue was approximately 1000-fold higher than that of liver and spleen.These data suggest that attenuated S.typhimurium strain SL7207 has potential for the treatment of cancers. | Baowei Li Hongwei He Shenghua Zhang Wuli Zhao Naren Li Rongguang Shao | 2012 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,6: | 2 |
| 9 | Myofibrillogenesis regulator-1 promotes cell adhesion and migration in human hepatoma cells显示文摘Myofibrillogenesis regulator-1 (MR-1) is a gene overexpressed usually in many human cancers. However, the effects of MR-1 on cell proliferation, adhesion, migration and genome-wide gene regulation are still unclear. In this study, a human hepatoma cell line that highly overexpresses MR-1, BEL-7402/MR-1 cells was established. While the high expression of MR-1 did not promote cell proliferation, it significantly increased cell spreading, adhesion and migration compared with control cells. A total of 147 genes were regulated by MR-1 expression, 46 genes were down-regulated and 101 genes were up-regulated by MR-1 overexpression. Many of these genes were related to cell adhesion, cytoskeletal regulation, MAPK signaling, and cell cycle related pathways. Western blot analysis further confirmed the regulation of pathways associated with migration by MR-1. | 10 | Mechanism of Affecting the Performance and Stability of an Axial Flow Compressor with Inlet Distortion显示文摘The purpose of the investigation is to obtain the mechanism of affecting the performance and stability of an axial flow compressor with two kinds of multi distortion area.In the investigation,the compressor inlet distortion is made by the distortion generator,which is a column and is placed in the compressor rotor passage upstream.The five-passages unsteady numerical results show that the compressor performances for two kinds of multi distortion area are both lower than that for the clean inlet,and the compressor peak efficiencies for inlet distortions of 6×12 degrees and 6×24 degrees are about 3.5%,and 9.2%lower than that for the clean inlet,respectively.Further,two kinds of multi distortion area both reduce the compressor stability,and the stall margin improvements of–2.93%and–6.11%are provided by inlet distortions of 6×12 degrees and 6×24 degrees,respectively.The flow field analyses show that the flow conditions of the rotor tip inlet upstream deteriorate after the application of multi distortion area.The values of axial velocity and flow angle of incoming flows in some regions,which are near the shroud,become small due to the adverse effect made by the inlet distortion.So,the circulation capacity of the regions becomes low,and inlet blockages appear in some rotor tip passages.The bigger the distorted range is,the greater inlet blockages and corresponding flow losses are.When multi distortion area changes from 6×12 degrees to 6×24 degrees,there are obvious separations of the boundary layer near the blade suction surface in some blade tip passages,and the serious separations prevent the incoming flows from entering the blade tip passage.As a result,overflows occur at the leading edge of the blade tip.Furthermore,as the number of the distortion generator increases by a factor of one,the effects of inlet distortion on the amplitudes of the air relative velocity and static pressure in the rotor inlet upstream at the distortion generator passing frequency of 1076.5 Hz increase by a factor of about one. | ZHANG Haoguang LI Qi DONG Feiyang CHU Wuli | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4: | 2 |
| 11 | Defect self-assembly of metal-organic framework triggers ferroptosis to overcome resistance显示文摘The emergence of multidrug treatment resistance presents a hurdle for the successful chemotherapy of tumours.Ferroptosis,resulting from the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxides,has the potential to reverse multidrug resistance.However,simultaneous delivery of the iron sources,ferroptosis inducers,drugs,and enhanced circulation carriers within matrices remains a significant challenge.Herein,we designed and fabricated a defect self-assembly of metal-organic framework(MOF)-red blood cell(RBC)membrane-camouflaged multi-drug-delivery nanoplatform for combined ferroptosis-apoptosis treatment of multidrug-resistant cancer.Ferroptosis and chemotherapeutic drugs are embedded in the centre of the iron(III)-based MOF at defect sites by coordination with metal clusters during a one-pot solvothermal synthesis process.The RBC membrane could camouflage the nanoplatform for longer circulation.Our results demonstrate that this defect self-assembly-enabled MOF-membrane-camouflaged nanoplatform could deplete the glutathione,amplify the reactive oxidative species oxidative stress,and enable remarkable anticancer properties.Our work provides an alternative strategy for overcoming multidrug resistance,which could regulate the fluidity and permeability of the cell membrane by ferroptosis to downregulate of P-glycoprotein protein expression by ferroptosis.This defect self-assembly-enabled MOF-membrane-camouflaged multi-drug-delivery nanoplatform has great therapeutic potential. | Haibao Peng Xingcai Zhang Peng Yang Jiaxu Zhao Wei Zhang Nianping Feng Wuli Yang Jing Tang | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,1: | 2 |
