| 1 | Novel immunological and nutritional-based prognostic index for gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To assess the prognostic significance of immunological and nutritional-based indices, including the prognostic nutritional index(PNI), neutrophillymphocyte ratio(NLR), and platelet-lymphocyte ratio in gastric cancer.METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed 632 gastric cancer patients who underwent gastrectomy between1998 and 2008. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve were calculated to compare the predictive ability of the indices, together with estimating the sensitivity, specificity and agreement rate.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify risk factors for overall survival(OS). Propensity score analysis was performed to adjust variables to control for selection bias.RESULTS: Each index could predict OS in gastric cancer patients in univariate analysis, but only PNI had independent prognostic significance in multivariate analysis before and after adjustment with propensity scoring(hazard ratio, 1.668; 95% confidence interval:1.368-2.035). In subgroup analysis, a low PNI predicted a significantly shorter OS in patients with stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ disease(P = 0.019, P < 0.001), T3-T4 tumors(P <0.001), or lymph node metastasis(P < 0.001). Canton score, a combination of PNI, NLR, and platelet, was a better indicator for OS than PNI, with the largest area under the curve for 12-, 36-, 60-mo OS and overall OS(P = 0.022, P = 0.030, P < 0.001, and P = 0.024,respectively). The maximum sensitivity, specificity, and agreement rate of Canton score for predicting prognosis were 84.6%, 34.9%, and 70.1%, respectively.CONCLUSION: PNI is an independent prognostic factor for OS in gastric cancer. | 2 | Investigating the dynamic mechanical behaviors of polyurea through experimentation and modeling显示文摘Polyurea is widely employed as a protective coating in many fields because of its superior ability to improve the anti-blast and anti-impact capability of structures.In this study,the mechanical properties of polyurea XS-350 were investigated via systematic experimentation over a wide range of strain rates(0.001-7000 s^-1)by using an MTS,Instron VHS,and split-Hopkinson bars.The stress-strain behavior of polyurea was obtained for various strain rates,and the effects of strain rate on the primary mechanical properties were analyzed.Additionally,a modified rate-dependent constitutive model is proposed based on the nine-parameter Mooney-Rivlin model.The results show that the stress-strain curves can be divided into three distinct regions:the linear-elastic stage,the highly elastic stage,and an approximate linear region terminating in fracture.The mechanical properties of the polyurea material were found to be highly dependent on the strain rate.Furthermore,a comparison between model predictions and the experimental stress-strain curves demonstrated that the proposed model can characterize the mechanical properties of polyurea over a wide range of strain rates. | Hao Wang Ximin Deng Haijun Wu Aiguo Pi Jinzhu Li Fenglei Huang | 2019 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2019,15,6: | 13 |
| 3 | Electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and transplantation of umbilical cord bloodderived mesenchymal stem cells for treating cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cell transplantation is a novel means of treating cerebral ischemia/reperfusion,and can promote angiogenesis and neurological functional recovery.Acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels also has positive effects as a treatment for cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Therefore,we hypothesized that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels plus mesenchymal stem cell transplantation may have better therapeutic effects on the promotion of angiogenesis and recovery of neurological function than either treatment alone.In the present study,human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells were isolated,cultured,identified and intracranially transplanted into the striatum and subcortex of rats at24 hours following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Subsequently,rats were electro-acupunctured at Conception and Governor vessels at 24 hours after transplantation.Modified neurological severity scores and immunohistochemistry findings revealed that the combined interventions of electro-acupuncture and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation clearly improved neurological impairment and up-regulated vascular endothelial growth factor expression around the ischemic focus.The combined intervention provided a better outcome than mesenchymal stem cell transplantation alone.These findings demonstrate that electro-acupuncture at Conception and Governor vessels and mesenchymal stem cell transplantation have synergetic effects on promoting neurological function recovery and angiogenesis in rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. | Haibo Yu Pengdian Chen Zhuoxin Yang Wenshu Luo Min Pi Yonggang Wu Ling Wang | 2014 | Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,1: | 13 |

| 6 | Rare Earth Element Geochemistry of Phosphatic Rocks in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Hushan Section from the Yangtze Gorges Area, South China显示文摘Phosphatic rocks are widely distributed in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Yangtze Gorges Area, South China. In this study, rare earth element geochemistry of eight phosphatic rock samples from the Hushan Section has been studied. All the samples display typical hat-shaped REE patterns, moderate negative Ce anomalies(Ce/Ce*=0.55 to 0.67), slightly positive Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*=1.05 to 1.22) and low Y/Ho ratios(38.2±5.6). The hat-shaped REE patterns indicate diagenetic alteration of the primary REE signatures, which coincides with detrital siliciclastic sources of REE based on the Y/Ho ratios. The degree of Negative Ce anomalies and positive Eu anomalies may have recorded the redox features of diagenetic fluids, suggesting an anoxic environment during the phosphogenesis processes in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, South China. The geochemical comparison between the Lower Phosphorite Layer and Upper Phosphorite Layer at Hushan indicates a greater degree of diagenesis occurred in the Upper Layer than the Lower one. | 8 | Polypropylene Separators with Robust Mussel-inspired Coatings for High Lithium-ion Battery Performances显示文摘The performances of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are dependent on the wettability and stability of porous separators.Musselinspired coatings seem to be useful to improve the surface wettability of commercialized polyolefin separators.However,it is still a challenge to guarantee their stability under polar electrolytes.Herein,we report a facile and versatile way to enhance the wettability and stability of polypropylene separators by constructing robust polydopamine(PDA)coatings triggered with CuSO4/H2O2.These coatings were conveniently deposited on the polypropylene separator surfaces and the PDA-coated separators exhibited the improved surface wettability and thermal stability.The electrolyte uptake increased nearly two folds from the pristine separator to the modified ones.Correspondingly,the ionic conductivity also rose from 0.82 mS·cm^-1 to 1.30 mS·cm^-1.Most importantly,the CuSO4/H2O2-triggered PDA coatings were very stable under strong polar electrolytes,endowing the cells with excellent cycle performance and enhanced C-rate capacity.Overall,the results unequivocally demonstrate that application of PDA coatings on polyolefin separator triggered by CuSO4/H2O2 is a facile and efficient method for improving the wettability and stability of separators for high LIBs performance. | Chao Zhang Hong-Qing Liang Jun-Ke Pi Guang-Peng Wu Zhi-Kang Xu | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2019,37,10: | 5 |
| 9 | Combinatorial effects of conception and governor vessel electroacu-puncture and human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells on pathomorphologic lesion and cellular apoptosis in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the combinatorial effects of conception and governor vessel electroacupuncture(EA) and human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells(HUCB-MSCs) on pathomorphologic lesion and cellular apoptosis in rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion. METHODS: With the HUCB-MSCs isolated, cultured and identified and the models of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion established, the HUCB-MSCs of passage three were intracranially transplanted and the EA at conception and governor vessels was applied. The pathomorphologic lesion by hematoxylin-eosin staining and the cellular apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated nick-end labeling method around the ischemic focus were observed. RESULTS: The cultured adherent HUCB-MSCs exhibited a spindle shape and expressed MSC-specific markers, with the cell purity and proliferation rate significantly increasing after the primary passage. HE staining showed that there were no pathological changes observed in the sham surgery group. However, in the PBS transplantation group, degeneration and necrosis of a great number of nerve cells were seen. In both the HUCB-MSCs transplantation group and the HUCB-MSCs transplantation + EA group, reparative changes of the pathomorphism of the tissue were found. Both combination treatment and simple MSCs treatment were able to improve the pathomorphorlogic lesion following cerebral ischemia and reduce the abnormal TUNEL-positive numbers, with former better than latter. CONCLUSION: HUCB-MSCs improve pathological lesions and inhibit the cellular apoptosis around the cerebral ischemic area. | 20 | Numerical simulation and inversion of offshore area depth based on x-band microwave radar显示文摘A detection method of offshore area depth utilizing the x-band microwave radar is proposed. The method is based on the sea clutter imaging mechanism of microwave radar, and combined with dispersion equation of the liner wave theorem and least square method(LSM), consequently get the inversion results of water depth in the detected region. The wave monitoring system OSMAR-X exploited by the Ocean State Laboratory, Wuhan University, based on a microwave radar has proven to be a powerful tool to monitor ocean waves in time and space. Numerical simulation and inversion of offshore area depth are carried out here; since JONSWAP model can give description of stormy waves in different growth phase, it is suitable for simulation. Besides, some results from measured data detected by OSMAR-X x-band radar located at Longhai of Fujian Province, China, validates this method. The tendency of the average water depths inferred from the radar images is in good agreement with the tide level detected by Xiamen tide station. These promising results suggest the possibility of using OSMAR-X to monitor operationally morphodynamics in coastal zones.
