1Knockdown of survivin gene expression by RNAi induces apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line SMMC-7721显示文摘AIM: To investigate the survivin gene expression in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line SMMC-7721 and the effects of survivin gene RNA interference (RNAi) on cell apoptosis and biological behaviors of SMMC-7721 cells.METHODS: Eukaryotic expression vector of survivin gene RNAi and recombinant plasmid pSuppressorNeo-survivin (pSuNeo-SW), were constructed by ligating into the vector,pSupperssorNeo (pSuNeo) digested with restriction enzymes Xba I and Sa/I and the designed double-chain RNAi primers. A cell model of SMMC-7721 after treatment with RNAi was prepared by transfecting SMMC-7721 cells with the lipofectin transfection method. Strept-avidinbiotin-complex (SABC) immunohistochemical staining and RT-PCR were used to detect survivin gene expressions in SMMC-7721 cells. Flow cytometry was used for the cell cycle analysis. Transmission electron microscopy was performed to determine whether RNAi induced cell apoptosis, and the method of measuring the cell growth curve was utilized to study the growth of SMMC-7721 cells before and after treatment with RNAi.RESULTS: The eukaryotic expression vector of survivin gene RNAi and pSuNeo-SW, were constructed successfully. The expression level of survivin gene in SMMC-7721 cells was observed. After the treatment of RNAi, the expression of survivin gene in SMMC-7721 cells was almost absent,apoptosis index was increased by 15.6%, and the number of cells was decreased in G2/M phase and the cell growth was inhibited.CONCLUSION: RNAi can exert a knockdown of survivin gene expression in SMMC-7721 cells, and induce apoptosis and inhibit the growth of carcinoma cells.Sheng-QuanCheng Wen-LiangWang WeiYan Qing-LongLi LiWang Wen-YongWang 2005World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,5:42

3Ethylene Emission as a Potential Indicator of Fuji Apple Flavor Quality Evaluation Under Low Temperature显示文摘Fuji apple(Malus×domestica Borkh.)is a popular fruit cultivar and occupies an important position in the fruit market due to its excellent flavor and storage quality.Ethylene emission can induce respiration,which would reduce postharvest quality and increase storage losses.In order to maintain fruit quality and extend shelf life,apples are usually stored in a low-temperature environment after harvest to reduce the formation of ethylene.Volatile aroma components are regarded as one of the most important aspects of flavor quality and a key factor for apple quality grading and customer satisfaction.Ethylene emission and its relationship with volatile aromas during low temperature,however,have not been determined.In this study,the dynamic changes of volatile aroma compounds of Fuji apples stored at 4°C were detected and analyzed for 42 days.The variation of ethylene released from Fuji apple was studied correspondingly.The results showed that ethyl butyrate,ethyl caproate,ethyl 2-methylbutyrate and 2-methylbutyl acetate were the main aroma components of Fuji apple.The change in ethylene emission and the normalized peak area of volatile aroma compounds exhibited a similar tendency that increased significantly from the 3rd day to the peak on the 14th day and then decreased;there was a positive linear correlation between them with a correlation coefficient of 0.79(P<0.05).Therefore,ethylene release can be used as a potential indicator for evaluation of volatile aroma compounds in apples.Using ethylene emission as an indicator could reduce the difficulty and complexity of volatile aroma evaluation,which could be a new non-destructive inspection choice for apple flavor quality assessment.Weiyan Qi Haijing Wang Zhen Zhou Peng Yang Wenbin Wu Zhemin Li Xian Li 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4:18
4Availability and social determinants of community health management service for patients with chronic diseases:An empirical analysis on elderly hypertensive and diabetic patients in an eastern metropolis of China显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to determine the availability of community health management services and the relevant social determinants for elderly patients with chronic diseases.Methods:All data were obtained from the 2013 random sampling household survey on an elderly population conducted by the School of Public Health of Peking University in an eastern metropolis in China.Information from the database of the above survey involving 1495 hypertensive or diabetic patients>60 years of age,as representatives of the city,were included.The study described the availability of follow-up services by community doctors among elderly hypertensive and diabetic patients during the 12 months before the survey.An ordinal multinomial logistic regression model was used to conduct the analysis on the influence of socio-economic background upon such availability.Results:Eighty-one percent of hypertensive patients and 84.7%of diabetic patients had not received any follow-up service from community doctors within 12 months prior to the survey.Among elderly hypertensive patients,those registered as non-agricultural household members,those with high and above-average income,as well as management personnel of government agencies,enterprises,and social programs have a greater chance of accepting follow-up service by community doctors because of their relatively higher socio-economic rankings.Among elderly diabetic patients,such socio-economic factors had no significant influence on the availability of the follow-up service for chronic diseases.Conclusion:The coverage of community health management services for elderly hypertensive and diabetic patients needs improvement.More effort should focus on promoting the availability of community health management services for elderly hypertensive patients,especially those with lower socio-economic status.Zhijun Wu Weiyan Jian 2015Family Medicine and Community Health2015,3,1:16
5Enhanced mechanical properties and degradation rate of Mg-Ni-Y alloy by introducing LPSO phase for degradable fracturing ball applications显示文摘In this work,as-cast Mg-Ni-Y alloys were proposed to develop a feasible material for fracturing balls,and their mechanical performance and corrosion behavior were systematically investigated.Long period stacking order(LPSO)phase was firstly introduced to improve both the mechanical properties and degradation rate of magnesium alloys.With the increase of LPSO phase,the compressive strength was improved significantly,while the elongation of the alloys decreased owing to the relatively brittle nature of LPSO phase.Due to the higher corrosion potential of LPSO phase,the LPSO phase can accelerate the corrosion process by providing more micro-couples.However,the LPSO phase would serve as the corrosion barrier between the corrosion medium and the matrix when the contents of LPSO phase are too high in Mg92.5Ni3Y4.5 and Mg87.5Ni5Y7.5 alloys.As-cast Mg97.5Ni1Y1.5 alloy with satisfactory mechanical properties and rapid degradation rate was successfully developed,exhibiting a high degradation rate of 6675 mm/a(93℃)in 3 wt.%KCl solution and a favorable ultimate compressive strength of 410 MPa.The degradation rate of Mg97.5Ni1Y1.5 alloy is 2-5 times of the current commercial magnesium alloy fracturing materials.Jingfeng Wang Shiqing Gao Xiuying Liu Xing Peng Kui Wang Shijie Liu Weiyan Jiang Shengfeng Guo Fusheng Pan 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,1:13
6A FUZZY-LOGIC CONTROL ALGORITHM FOR ACTIVE QUEUE MANAGEMENT IN IP NETWORKS显示文摘Active Queue Management (AQM) is an active research area in the Internet community. Random Early Detection (RED) is a typical AQM algorithm, but it is known that it is difficult to configure its parameters and its average queue length is closely related to the load level. This paper proposes an effective fuzzy congestion control algorithm based on fuzzy logic which uses the pre- dominance of fuzzy logic to deal with uncertain events. The main advantage of this new congestion control algorithm is that it discards the packet dropping mechanism of RED, and calculates packet loss according to a preconfigured fuzzy logic by using the queue length and the buffer usage ratio. Theo- retical analysis and Network Simulator (NS) simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves more throughput and more stable queue length than traditional schemes. 7MicroRNA-24 promotes pancreatic beta cells toward dedifferentiation to avoid endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis显示文摘Current research indicates that beta cell loss in type 2 diabetes may be attributed to beta cell dedifferentiation rather than apoptosis;however,the mechanisms by which this occurs remain poorly understood.Our previous study demonstrated that elevation of microRNA-24(miR-24)in a diabetic setting caused beta cell dysfunction and replicative deficiency.In this study,we focused on the role of miR-24 in beta cell apoptosis and dedifferentiation under endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress conditions.We found that miR-24 overabundance protected beta cells from thapsigargin-induced apoptosis at the cost of accelerating the impairment of glucosestimulated insulin secretion(GSIS)and enhancing the presence of dedifferentiation markers.Ingenuity?Pathway Analysis(IPA)revealed that elevation of miR-24 had an inhibitory effect on XBP1 and ATF4,which are downstream effectors of two key branches of ER stress,by inhibiting its direct target,Irela.Notably,elevated miR-24 initiated another pathway that targeted Mafa and decreased GSIS function in surviving beta cells,thus guiding their dedifferentiation under ER stress conditions.Our results demonstrated that the elevated miR-24,to the utmost extent,preserves beta cell mass by inhibiting apoptosis and inducing dedifFerentiation.This study not only provides a novel mechanism by which miR-24 dominates beta cell turnover under persistent metabolic stress but also offers a therapeutic consideration for treating diabetes by inducing dedifferentiated beta cells to re-differentiation.Yunxia Zhu Yi Sun Yuncai Zhou Yan Zhang Tao Zhang Yating Li Weiyan You Xiaoai Chang Li Yuan Xiao Han 2019Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2019,11,9:9

9Penetration characteristics of VLF wave from atmosphere into lower ionosphere显示文摘The factors affecting the reflection and transmission coefficient of the ionosphere have been analyzed.These factors include wave frequency,incident angle,geomagnetic inclination,electron density and collision frequency in the ionosphere.The ionosphere refractive index is also analyzed.The ionosphere above 70 km is considered to be homogeneous and anisotropic,and the reflection and transmission coefficient matrix is calculated using matrix method.Simultaneously the Booker quartic equation is solved to get the refractive index in the ionosphere.The results show that when the wave frequency is higher,it is easier to penetrate into the ionosphere from its bottom boundary and the propagation attenuation in the ionosphere is smaller.TE(traverse electric) wave and TM(traverse magnetic) wave can both penetrate into the ionosphere with a small incident angle,while TE wave can hardly transmit into the ionosphere when the incident angle is large.The transmission coefficient decreases as the geomagnetic inclination increases.TE and TM wave cannot penetrate into the ionosphere at magnetic equator.When the electron collision frequency is higher,it is easier for VLF wave to penetrate into the ionosphere and the attenuation of ordinary wave is weaker,which may be caused by the energy transportation between the waves and the particles.The ordinary(O) wave experiences severer attenuation than extraordinary(X) wave,and X wave is a penetration mode whereas O wave is a non-penetration mode in the ionosphere.All the results indicate that VLF wave with higher frequency is easier to penetrate into the ionosphere and to be recorded by the satellites at high latitude.It is hard for ULF and the lower frequency VLF wave to transmit into the ionosphere directly for the severe reflection and attenuation.It may transmit into the ionosphere with a small incident angle due to the nonlinear effect,for example,the interaction between the waves and the particles or cross modulation,and then propagate along the whistle duct with small attenuation.This work may be a preliminary theoretical exploration for the future calculation on the response of ground based VLF artificial transmitter in the ionosphere and further study on the seismic ionosphere coupling model.Shufan Zhao Xuhui Shen Weiyan Pan Xuemin Zhang Li Liao 2010Earthquake Science2010,23,3:8
10Relationship between proliferative activity of cancer cells and clinicopathological factors in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To assess whether the molecular markers of malignant tumors could improve the understanding of tumor characteristics, and to observe the characteristics of expression of cell cycle markers Ki-67 and cydin A in esophageal carcinoma and to analyze the relationship between proliferative activity of cancer cells and clinicopathological factors.METHODS: Seventy of surgically resected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) were examined by immunohistochemistry utilizing commercially available antibodies. Nuclear staining was regarded as a positive result. At least 50 fields in each tumor and non-tumor section were evaluated at a medium power (x200) to determine the proportion of tumor cells and the staining intensity of nuclei in the entire sections.RESULTS: Ki-67 and cyclin A were only expressed in base cells of normal esophageal mucosa. The positive immunostaining of nuclei of SCC was significantly higher than that in normal esophageal mucosa (t= 13.32 and t= 7.52,respectively, P<0.01). The distribution of positively stained was more diffuse and stronger in poorly differentiated SCC. Both Ki-67 and cyclin A expressions were related to histological grades of tumors (t = 3.5675 and t = 3.916; t= 2.13, respectively, P<0.05) but not to the sex and age of the patients, tumor size, lymphatic invasion, location, or stage grouping.CONCLUSION: The proliferative activity of cancer cells may be understood by immunohistochemistry of Ki-67 and cyclin A in Chinese patients with esophageal SCC. These cell cycle markers may serve as an indicator of cancer cell proliferation rate. 11Variations in paleoproductivity and the environmental implications over the past six decades in the Changjiang Estuary显示文摘Total organic carbon and organic carbon stable isotope, biogenic silica, chlorin were measured from a high resolution sediment core to indicate the variation in paleoproductivity and the environmental implications over the past decades (1942 to 1997) in the Changjiang Estuary. Based on these biomarkers, the shift in the phytoplankton community structure in the past decades was discussed in response to the long-term variations in nutrient concentrations and nutrient ratios. The results showed that the δ 13 C values varied from –26.15‰ to –19.5‰, suggesting the combined organic carbon sources of riverine and marine organisms. Based on the biogenic proxies, paleoproductivity changes were categorized into three stages: low production before 1950; an increase in production with the dominance of diatoms during 1950 to 1980, consistent with increasing of nutrient concentrations; a decrease in production after 1980 when the diatom production decreased while the production of non-silicious phytoplankton increased due to high nutrient inputs, and high N/P and P/Si ratios in the Changjiang Estuary. 12Mitochondrial DNA A1555G mutation screening using a testing kit method and its significance in preventing aminoglycoside-related hearing loss显示文摘To report a new screening method for mitochondrial DNA 1555A→G mutation and the results of genotype analysis in 19 maternal inherited deafness pedigrees. Method Five hundred and forty-six non-syndromic neuro-sensory hearing loss patients were tested for 1555A→G mutation using a new compact testing kit, which allows clear distinction between wild type and 1555 A→G mutated mtDNAs. Results Nineteen subjects among the 546 patients (3.48%) were found to carry mtDNA A1555G mutation. The results were confirmed by sequencing in an ABI 3100 Avant sequencer. Conclusions Maternal inherited deafness families are a frequently seen in outpatient group. 14The Tashisayi nephrite deposit from South Altyn Tagh, Xinjiang,northwest China显示文摘The Tashisayi nephrite deposit is located in South Altyn Tagh.in Qiemo County,Xinjiang Province,northwest China.It is a recent discovery in the vast,well-known Kunlun-Altyn nephrite belt distributed along the south of the Tarim Basin,producing more than half of the nephrite from the whole belt in 2017.Field investigations revealed that it is a dolomitic marble-related(D-type)nephrite deposit,but little is known about its age of formation and relationships between the granites and marble.Here we report field investigations,petrography of the neph rite,as well as petrography,geochemistry,geochronology of the zoisite-quartz altered intrusive rock and adjacent granites.An A-type granite is identified with a SHRIMP U-Pb zircon age of 926±7 Ma,suggesting it was emplaced in an extensional tectonic environment at that time.The altered intrusive rock has a cluster of U-Pb zircon age of 433±10 Ma.with similar trace element features to the A-type granite,suggesting it was formed in an extensional regime at this later time.Nephrite formed because of the metasomatism of dolomite marble by hydrothermal fluids.It is inferred that Ca^2+was released from the dolomitic marble by metasomatism forming Ca-rich fluids,which caused alteration of both the intrusive rocks(6.00-8.22 wt.%CaO)and granite(1.76-3.68 wt.%CaO)near the nephrite ore bodies.It is also inferred that Fe^2+from the granite migrated towards the dolomite marble.The fluids gave rise to the formation of Ca-minerals.such as zoisite,in the nephrite and altered intrusive rock,and epidote in the granite.Based on the contact relationships.similarity in hydrothermal processes,and consumption of Ca^2+,the Tashisayi nephrite is considered to have formed at the same time as the alteration of the intrusive rocks,i.e.~433 Ma.The geochronological similarity(~926 Ma.433 Ma)of South Altyn and North Qaidam may suggest that tectonically they belong to one single complex in the past,which was offset by the Altyn Tagh fault(ATF).The similar formation ages of the nephrites from Altyn Tagh(433 Ma)and the previously studied areas of West Kunlun(378-441 Ma)and East Kunlun(416 Ma)indicate that these nephrites formed during the closure of Proto-Tethys and in the accompanving post-collisional.extensional environment.Kong Gao Guanghai Shi Meili Wang Gen Xie Jian Wang Xiaochong Zhang Ting Fang Weiyan Lei Yan Liu 2019Geoscience Frontiers2019,10,4:6
15Effect of Sn addition on the mechanical properties and bio-corrosion behavior of cytocompatible Mg-4Zn based alloys显示文摘The mechanical properties and bio-corrosion behaviors of as-extruded Mg-4Zn alloys after Sn addition were investigated,systemati-cally.A small amount of Sn addition to Mg-4Zn alloy slightly improved the mechanical properties for solid solution strengthening,and significantly controlled the bio-corrosion rates.Sn participating in the outer layer film formation as SnO/SnO_(2)resisted the bio-corrosion proceeding.Especially,Mg-4Zn-1.5Sn alloy,with a weight loss rate of 0.45 mm/y and hydrogen evolution rate of 0.099 mL/cm^(2)/day,showed cytotoxicity grade of 0 to MC3T3-E1 cells.The perfect alliance of cytocompatibility,suitable mechanical properties and low bio-corrosion rate demonstrates that this Mg-4Zn-1.5Sn alloy is a promising biodegradable magnesium alloy for orthopedic implants.Weiyan Jiang Jingfeng Wang Weikang Zhao Qingshan Liu Dianming Jiang Shengfeng Guo 2019Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,1:6

17Theoretical and simulation research of hydrodynamic instabilities in inertial-confinement fusion implosions显示文摘Inertial fusion energy(IFE)has been considered a promising,nearly inexhaustible source of sustainable carbon-free power for the world's energy future.It has long been recognized that the control of hydrodynamic instabilities is of critical importance for ignition and high-gain in the inertial-confinement fusion(ICF)hot-spot ignition scheme.In this mini-review,we summarize the progress of theoretical and simulation research of hydrodynamic instabilities in the ICF central hot-spot implosion in our group over the past decade.In order to obtain sufficient understanding of the growth of hydrodynamic instabilities in ICF,we first decompose the problem into different stages according to the implosion physics processes.The decomposed essential physics processes that are associated with ICF implosions,such as Rayleigh-Taylor instability(RTI),Richtmyer-Meshkov instability(RMI),Kelvin-Helmholtz instability(KHI),convergent geometry effects,as well as perturbation feed-through are reviewed.Analytical models in planar,cylindrical,and spherical geometries have been established to study different physical aspects,including density-gradient,interface-coupling,geometry,and convergent effects.The influence of ablation in the presence of preheating on the RTI has been extensively studied by numerical simulations.The KHI considering the ablation effect has been discussed in detail for the first time.A series of single-mode ablative RTI experiments has been performed on the Shenguang-Ⅱlaser facility.The theoretical and simulation research provides us the physical insights of linear and weakly nonlinear growths,and nonlinear evolutions of the hydrodynamic instabilities in ICF implosions,which has directly supported the research of ICF ignition target design.The ICF hot-spot ignition implosion design that uses several controlling features,based on our current understanding of hydrodynamic instabilities,to address shell implosion stability,has been briefly described,several of which are novel.LiFeng Wang WenHua Ye XianTu He JunFeng Wu ZhengFeng Fan Chuang Xue HongYu Guo WenYong Miao YongTeng Yuan JiaQin Dong Guo Jia Jing Zhang YingJun Li Jie Liu Min Wang YongKun Ding WeiYan Zhang 2017Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,5:4
18Distribution and sources of heavy metals in the sediment of Xiangshan Bay显示文摘Heavy metals in the surface sediments and sediment core from the Xiangshan Bay, a mariculture base on the coast of the East China Sea, were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP–MS) in order to evaluate their levels and sources. The results showed that the levels of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cr in the sediments of the bay have been generally influenced by anthropogenic inputs since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In particular, Cu and Zn were polluted to some extent, as evidenced by high enrichment factors. Organic matter, grain size, wastewater discharge, and low energy hydrodynamic environment played dominant roles in the heavy metal enrichment in the sediments. The ratio of terrigenous source to marine biogenic deposit of trace metals in the sediments was calculated, revealing that terrigenous inputs were the main source of Cu, Pb, and Zn, while biological pellets contributed much more to the enrichment of Cr and Cd. 19Impact of gas pressure on particle feature in Fe-based amorphous alloy powders via gas atomization:Simulation and experiment显示文摘Gas atomization is now an important production technique for Fe-based amorphous alloy powders used in additive manufacturing,particularly selective laser melting,fabricating large-sized Fe-based bulk metallic glasses.Using the realizable k-εmodel and discrete phase model theory,the flow dynamics of the gas phase and gas-melt two-phase flow felds in the close-wake condition were investigated to establish the correlation between high gas pressure and powder particle characteristics.The locations of the recirculation zones and the shapes of Mach disks were analyzed in detail for the type of discrete-jet closed-coupled gas atomization nozzle.In the gas-phase flow feld,the vortexes,closed to the Mach disk,are found to be a new deceleration method.In the two-phase flow feld,the shape of Mach disk changes from“S”-shape to“Z”-shape under the impact of the droplet flow.As predicted by the wave model,with the elevation of gas pressure,the size of the particle is found to gradually decrease and its distribution becomes more concentrated.Simulation results were compliant with the Fe-based amorphous alloy powder preparation tests.This study deepens the understanding of the gas pressure impacting particle features via gas atomization,and contributes to technological applications.Yutong Shi Weiyan Lu Wenhai Sun Suode Zhang Baijun Yang Jianqiang Wang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,10:4
20Thermodynamic Assessment and Experimental Investigation of Fe-Al-C System显示文摘Phase diagram information of the Fe-C,Fe-Al and Al-C systems are reviewed and the Fe-Al-C system is assessed.A FeAlC database is created by combining a set of thermodynamic parameters established by Kumar and SSOL database in Thermo-Calc software package.Ternary phase diagrams are calculated with FeAlC and the newly developed Thermo-Calc databases SSOL2 and SSOL4.The FeAIC database is the best one to describe the Fe-Al-C system.A1 and A3 values on the vertical section containing 1.5 wt pct Al are calculated with the FeAlC database in this work.To validate the thermodynamic calculation,critical temperatures A_(C_1) and A_(C_3) are determined by using dilatometer analysis.There exist some errors between the calculated values and the experimental results.So further optimization of the Fe-Al-C system regarding bcc and fcc phases is necessary.The experimental data in this work could be of some value in further optimization.Weiyan LU Lin LI Li WANG Yanlin HE Shuigen HUANG 2008Journal of Materials Science & Technology2008,24,5:3
