1An all-round AI-Chemist with a scientific mind显示文摘The realization of automated chemical experiments by robots unveiled the prelude to an artificial intelligence(AI)laboratory.Several AI-based systems or robots with specific chemical skills have been demonstrated,but conducting all-round scientific research remains challenging.Here,we present an all-round AI-Chemist equipped with scientific data intelligence that is capable of performing basic tasks generally required in chemical research.Based on a service platform,the AI-Chemist is able to automatically read the literatures from a cloud database and propose experimental plans accordingly.It can control a mobile robot in-house or online to automatically execute the complete experimental process on 14 workstations,including synthesis,characterization and performance tests.The experimental data can be simultaneously analysed by the computational brain of the AI-Chemist through machine learning and Bayesian optimization,allowing a new hypothesis for the next iteration to be proposed.The competence of the AI-Chemist has been scrutinized by three different chemical tasks.In the future,the more advanced all-round AI-Chemists equipped with scientific data intelligence may cause changes to the landscape of the chemical laboratory.Qing Zhu Fei Zhang Yan Huang Hengyu Xiao LuYuan Zhao XuChun Zhang Tao Song XinSheng Tang Xiang Li Guo He BaoChen Chong JunYi Zhou YiHan Zhang Baicheng Zhang JiaQi Cao Man Luo Song Wang GuiLin Ye WanJun Zhang Xin Chen Shuang Cong Donglai Zhou Huirong Li Jialei Li Gang Zou WeiWei Shang Jun Jiang Yi Luo 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:5
2Spatio-temporal Variation of Soil Respiration and Its Driving Factors in Semi-arid Regions of North China显示文摘Soil respiration(SR) is the second-largest flux in ecosystem carbon cycling. Due to the large spatio-temporal variability of environmental factors, SR varied among different vegetation types, thereby impeding accurate estimation of CO_2 emissions via SR. However, studies on spatio-temporal variation of SR are still scarce for semi-arid regions of North China. In this study, we conducted 12-month SR measurements in six land-use types, including two secondary forests(Populus tomentosa(PT) and Robinia pseudoacacia(RP)), three artificial plantations(Armeniaca sibirica(AS), Punica granatum(PG) and Ziziphus jujuba(ZJ)) and one natural grassland(GR), to quantify spatio-temporal variation of SR and distinguish its controlling factors. Results indicated that SR exhibited distinct seasonal patterns for the six sites. Soil respiration peaked in August 2012 and bottomed in April 2013. The temporal coefficient of variation(CV) of SR for the six sites ranged from 76.98% to 94.08%, while the spatial CV of SR ranged from 20.28% to 72.97% across the 12-month measurement. Soil temperature and soil moisture were the major controlling factors of temporal variation of SR in the six sites, while spatial variation in SR was mainly caused by the differences in soil total nitrogen(STN), soil organic carbon(SOC), net photosynthesis rate, and fine root biomass. Our results show that the annual average SR and Q_(10)(temperature sensitivity of soil respiration) values tended to decrease from secondary forests and grassland to plantations, indicating that the conversion of natural ecosystems to man-made ecosystems may reduce CO_2 emissions and SR temperature sensitivity. 3Fe-porphyrin:A redox-related biosensor of hydrogen molecule显示文摘Hydrogen molecule(H_(2))exhibits broad-spectrum but microenvironment-dependent biomedical effects in varied oxidation stress-related diseases,but its molecular mechanism is unclear and its targeting molecule is unknown so far.Herein,we originally reveal that Fe-porphyrin is a H_(2)-targeted molecule.We have demonstrated that the oxidized Fe-porphyrin in both free and protein-confining states can self-catalyze the hydrogenation/reduction by reacting with H_(2)to catalytically scavenge∙OH,and can also catalytically hydrogenate to reduce CO_(2)into CO in the hypoxic microenvironment of in vitro simulation and in vivo tumor,confirming that Fe-porphyrin is a redox-related biosensor of H_(2)and H_(2)is an upstream signaling molecule of CO.These discoveries are favorable for deep understanding and exploration of profound biomedical effects of H2,and helpful for development of innovative drugs and hydrogen energy/agricultural materials.Zhaokui Jin Penghe Zhao Wanjun Gong Wenjiang Ding Qianjun He 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1

9Enhanced micro/nano-tribological performance in partially crystallized 60NiTi film显示文摘The microstructure,mechanical and micro/nano-tribological properties of the 60NiTi film annealed at different temperature were investigated.The results reveal that annealing as-deposited 60NiTi film at 300,375,and 600℃ for 1 h leads to structural relaxation,partial crystallization and full crystallization,respectively.Compared with the structurally relaxed structure,the partially crystallized structure exhibits increased hardness but decreased elastic modulus.This is because that the elastic modulus is reduced by Voigt model while the hardness is improved by composite effect.Due to the highest hardness and ratio of hardness to elastic modulus(H/E),the partially crystallized 60NiTi film has the lowest penetration depth and residual depth(i.e.,groove depth).Besides,the results also reveal that ductile plowing is the dominant wear mechanism for all the annealed 60NiTi films.Under the condition of the ductile plowing,coefficient of friction and wear resistance are related to penetration depth and residual depth,respectively.Therefore,the partially crystallized 60NiTi film shows the best tribological performance at the micro/nano-scale.The current work not only highlights the important roles of hardness and H/E in improving the micro/nano-tribological properties but also concludes an efficient and simple method for simultaneously increasing hardness and H/E.Wanjun HE Qunfeng ZENG 2021Friction2021,9,6:0

11A New Coronavirus Estimation Global Score for Predicting Mortality During Hospitalization in Patients with COVID-19显示文摘Objective:Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)exists as a pandemic.Mortality during hospitalization is multifactorial,and there is urgent need for a risk stratification model to predict in-hospital death among COVID-19 patients.Here we aimed to construct a risk score system for early identification of COVID-19 patients at high probability of dying during in-hospital treatment.Methods:In this retrospective analysis,a total of 821 confirmed COVID-19 patients from 3 centers were assigned to developmental(n=411,between January 14,2020 and February 11,2020)and validation(n=410,between February 14,2020 and March 13,2020)groups.Based on demographic,symptomatic,and laboratory variables,a new Coronavirus estimation global(CORE-G)score for prediction of in-hospital death was established from the developmental group,and its performance was then evaluated in the validation group.Results:The CORE-G score consisted of 18 variables(5 demographics,2 symptoms,and 11 laboratory measurements)with a sum of 69.5 points.Goodness-of-fit tests indicated that the model performed well in the developmental group(H=3.210,P=0.880),and it was well validated in the validation group(H=6.948,P=0.542).The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves were 0.955 in the developmental group(sensitivity,94.1%;specificity,83.4%)and 0.937 in the validation group(sensitivity,87.2%;specificity,84.2%).The mortality rate was not significantly different between the developmental(n=85,20.7%)and validation(n=94,22.9%,P=0.608)groups.Conclusions:The CORE-G score provides an estimate of the risk of in-hospital death.This is the first step toward the clinical use of the CORE-G score for predicting outcome in COVID-19 patients.Hesong Zeng Xingwei He Wanjun Liu Jing Kan Liqun He Jinhe Zhao Cynthia Chen Junjie Zhang Shaoliang Chen 2022Cardiology Discovery2022,2,2:0

13Antiviral Abidol is Associated with the Reduction of In-Hospital Mortality in COVID-19 Patients显示文摘Objective:Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a global public health crisis.There are no specific antiviral agents for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2.Information regarding the effect of Abidol on in-hospital mortality is scarce.The present study aimed to evaluate the treatment effect of Abidol for patients with COVID-19 before and after propensity score matching(PSM).Methods:This retrospective cohort study analyzed 1019 patients with confirmed COVID-19 in China from December 22,2019 to March 13,2020.Patients were divided to Abidol(200mg,tid,5-7days,n=788,77.3%)and No-Abidol(n=231,22.7%)groups.The primary outcome was the mortality during hospitalization.Results:Among 1019 COVID-19 patients,the age was(60.4±14.5)years.Abidol-treated patients,compared with No-Abidoltreated patients,had a shorter duration from onset of symptoms to admission,less frequent renal dysfunction,lower white blood cell counts(lymphocytes<0.8)and erythrocyte sending rate,lower interleukin-6,higher platelet counts and plasma IgG and oxygen saturation,and less frequent myocardial injury.The mortality during hospitalization before PSM was 17.9% in Abidol group and 34.6% in No-Abidol(hazard ratio(HR)=2.610,95% confident interval(CI):1.980–3.440),all seen in severe and critical patients.After PSM,the in-hospital death was 13.6% in Abidol and 28.6% in No-Abidol group(HR=2.728,95%CI:1.598–4.659).Conclusions:Abidol-treatment results in less in-hospital death for severe and critical patients with COVID-19.Further randomized study is warranted to confirm the findings from this study.Hesong Zeng Xingwei He Wanjun Liu Jing Kan Liqun He Jinhe Zhao Cynthia Chen Junjie Zhang Shaoliang Chen 2021Cardiology Discovery2021,1,1:0
