| 1 | PIV measurement on internal instantaneous flows of a centrifugal pump显示文摘In this paper,the internal flow field in a centrifugal pump working at the design flow rate operating condition has been measured using the particle image velocimetry(PIV)technique with the fluorescent particles and the index-matched fluid technology.The index-marching fluid with the same refractive index as the transparent material has been prepared and applied in the present test of pump with geometrical complex walls.The comparison between velocity distributions of PIV results both with and without fluorescent particles,as well as with and without index-marching fluid are conducted to find the differences.The DES(Detached Eddy Simulation)has been employed to calculate the three-dimensional unsteady turbulent flow in the pump to examine and to certify the PIV measurement results.The DES results of instantaneous flow velocity fields agree with PIV test results with fluorescent particles and index-marching fluid.It is necessary to perform the PIV measurement of pumps with fluorescent seeds and index-marching fluid in order to get exact results.The experimental results show the distributions of velocity,steamlines,and the principal Reynolds normal stress(PRNS)and the principal Reynolds shear stress(PRSS). | WU YuLin LIU ShuHong YUAN HuiJing SHAO Jie | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,2: | 20 |
| 2 | An optimization method on runner blades in bulb turbine based on CFD analysis显示文摘In this paper an optimization method of the runner blades in a bulb turbine based on CFD analysis is proposed.In the method the main scales of the turbine including guide vane,runner and draft are maintained.Only the runner blades are modified based on the present method.In the optimization method the runner blade is expressed by spline surface with a gather of coordinate points.The B-spline curve is used to keep the modified blades smooth.In order to make the blade optimization simple and ef- ficient,one of the coordinates is fixed and only the angles of the points are changed according to different modification purposes.Three main optimization principles based on flow diagnosis are presented here.These three principles are all based on the CFD analysis of the internal flow in bulb turbine.For the purpose of method verification,the optimization method is used in a model bulb turbine.A three dimensional steady turbulent computation is carried out through the whole passage including the bulb body,guide vanes,runner and draft tube of the bulb turbine under seven different work conditions.An SST k-ωturbulence model is used during the CFD analysis and the performance of the turbine can be achieved.The runner blade is optimized according to the three optimization principles based on flow diagnosis.The CFD analysis is conducted again on the optimized turbine and another modification is needed if the new turbine can’t satisfy the required performance.Comparison of the computational results between the original turbine and an optimized one indicates that the optimization method is practical and does improve the performance of the bulb turbine. | YANG Wei WU YuLin LIU ShuHong | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,2: | 15 |
| 3 | Biofunctional magnesium coated Ti6Al4V scaffold enhances osteogenesis and angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo for orthopedic application显示文摘The insufficient osteogenesis and osseointegration of porous titanium based scaffold limit its further application.Early angiogenesis is important for scaffold survival.It is necessary to develop a multifunctional surface on titanium scaffold with both osteogenic and angiogenic properties.In this study,a biofunctional magnesium coating is deposited on porous Ti6Al4V scaffold.For osseointegration and osteogenesis analysis,in vitro studies reveal that magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V co-culture with MC3T3-E1 cells can improve cell proliferation,adhesion,extracellular matrix(ECM)mineralization and ALP activity compared with bare Ti6Al4V cocultivation.Additionally,MC3T3-E1 cells cultured with magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V show significantly higher osteogenesisrelated genes expression.In vivo studies including fluorochrome labeling,micro-computerized tomography and histological examination of magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V scaffold reveal that new bone regeneration is significantly increased in rabbits after implantation.For angiogenesis studies,magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V improve HUVECs proliferation,adhesion,tube formation,wound-healing and Transwell abilities.HUVECs cultured with magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V display significantly higher angiogenesis-related genes(HIF-1αand VEGF)expression.Microangiography analysis reveal that magnesium-coated Ti6Al4V scaffold can significantly enhance the blood vessel formation.This study enlarges the application scope of magnesium and provides an optional choice to the conventional porous Ti6Al4V scaffold with enhanced osteogenesis and angiogenesis for further orthopedic applications. | Peng Gao Bo Fan Xiaoming Yu Wenwen Liu Jie Wu Lei Shi Di Yang Lili Tan Peng Wan Yulin Hao Shujun Li Wentao Hou Ke Yang Xiaokang Li Zheng Guo | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,3: | 15 |

Mantle xenoliths include mineral megacrysts such as kaersutite and pargasite, feldspar, biotite, and rare pyroxene and rock fragments such as perodotite, pyroxenite, amphibolite, and rare glimmerite. Lower crust xenoliths are mainly banded and massive granulite. The volcanic rocks were produced by within-plate magmatism. Occurrence of hydrous and volatile mineral megacrysts, amphibolite, and some pyroxenite containing hydrous and volatile minerals indicates that mantle metasomatism was intense. | 5 | Face recognition system based on CNN and LBP features for classifier optimization and fusion显示文摘Face recognition has been a hot-topic in the field of pattern recognition where feature extraction and classification play an important role. However,convolutional neural network( CNN) and local binary pattern( LBP) can only extract single features of facial images,and fail to select the optimal classifier. To deal with the problem of classifier parameter optimization,two structures based on the support vector machine( SVM) optimized by artificial bee colony( ABC) algorithm are proposed to classify CNN and LBP features separately. In order to solve the single feature problem,a fusion system based on CNN and LBP features is proposed. The facial features can be better represented by extracting and fusing the global and local information of face images. We achieve the goal by fusing the outputs of feature classifiers. | 6 | Cotton bollworm resistance to Bt transgenic cotton: A case analysis显示文摘Cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) is one of the most serious insect pests of cotton. Transgenic cotton expressing Cry toxins derived from a soil bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), has been produced to target this pest. Bt cotton has been widely planted around the world, and this has resulted in efficient control of bollworm populations with reduced use of synthetic insecticides. However, evolution of resistance by this pest threatens the continued success of Bt cotton. To date, no field populations of bollworm have evolved significant levels of resistance; however, several laboratory-selected Cry-resistant strains of H. armigera have been obtained, which suggests that bollworm has the capacity to evolve resistance to Bt. The development of resistance to Bt is of great concern, and there is a vast body of research in this area aimed at ensuring the continued success of Bt cotton. Here, we review studies on the evolution of Bt resistance in H. armigera, focusing on the biochemical and molecular basis of Bt resistance. | 8 | Numerical simulation of pressure fluctuation in Kaplan turbine显示文摘As it is almost impossible to carry out the prototype hydro-turbine experiment be- fore the power plant is built up, rational prediction of pressure fluctuations in the prototype turbine is very important at the design stage. From this viewpoint, we at first treated the unsteady turbulent flow computation based on the modified RNG k-ε turbulence model through the whole flow passage to simulate the pressure fluctuation in a model turbine. Since fair agreement was recognized between the numerical results and the experimental data, this numerical method was applied to simulate the pressure fluctuations in the prototype turbine. From the comparison of them with the model turbine results, it is seen that their qualitative trend of pres- sure fluctuations are similar, but an appreciable difference is observed between the amplitudes of pressure fluctuation of the prototype turbine and that of the model turbine. Though the present findings may be explained by the effect of Reynolds number, further studies are expected for quantitative interpretation. We paid atten- tion to the interaction between the fluid and turbine structure. | 9 | Effects of Sini San used alone and in combination with fluoxetine on central and peripheral 5-HT levels in a rat model of depression显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Sini San and fluoxetine on the levels of central and peripheral 5-HT in a rat model of depression, and provide new insight into the treatment of depression with integrated Chinese-Western Medicine.METHODS: A rat model of depression was established by chronic mild stress(CMS). Model rats received either Sini San, fluoxetine, a combination of the two drugs, or no drug treatment. Healthy naive rats were used as controls. Open field and sucrose preference tests were used to assess depression-like behavior. ELISA and immunohistochemistry were used to determine central and peripheral levels of 5-HT.RESULTS: In the group with no drug treatment,central 5-HT expression decreased while peripheral5-HT concentrations increased as CMS continued.Four weeks after CMS, Sini San alone was less effective in reducing depression-like behavior than fluoxetine alone or in combination with Sini San,but combined use was more effective than fluoxetine alone. Eight weeks after CMS, Sini San alone or in combination with fluoxetine was more effective in reducing depression-like behavior than fluoxetine alone. Furthermore Sini San and fluoxetine used alone or in combination notably increased central 5-HT expression and decreased peripheral 5-HT levels in the rat model.CONCLUSION:The results of the present study indicate that there is a synergistic action between the two medicines in the treatment of depression. Sini San exhibited a relatively long lag before its effects were observed; however, by eight weeks the Traditional Chinese Medicine appeared at least as effective as fluoxetine. | 10 | Improved activity of MC3T3-E1 cells by the exciting piezoelectric BaTiO_(3)/TC4 using low-intensity pulsed ultrasound显示文摘Developing bioactive materials for bone implants to enhance bone healing and bone growth has for years been the focus of clinical research.Barium titanate(BT)is an electroactive material that can generate electrical signals in response to applied mechanical forces.In this study,a BT piezoelectric ceramic coating was synthesized on the surface of a TC4 titanium alloy,forming a BT/TC4 material,and low-intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS)was then applied as a mechanical stimulus.The combined effects on the biological responses of MC3T3-E1 cells were investigated.Results of scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and X-ray diffraction showed that an uniform nanospheres-shaped BT coating was formed on TC4 substrate.Piezoelectric behaviors were observed using piezoelectric force microscopy with the piezoelectric coefficient d_(33)of 0.42 pC/N.Electrochemical measures indicated that LIPUS-stimulated BT/TC4 materials could produce a microcurrent of approximately 10μA/cm^(2).In vitro,the greatest osteogenesis(cell adhesion,proliferation,and osteogenic differentiation)was found in MC3T3-E1 cells when BT/TC4 was stimulated using LIPUS.Furthermore,the intracellular calcium ion concentration increased in these cells,possibly because opening of the L-type calcium ion channels was promoted and expression of the Ca_(V)1.2 protein was increased.Therefore,the piezoelectric BT/TC4 material with LIPUS loading synergistically promoted osteogenesis,rending it a potential treatment for early stage formation of reliable bone-implant contact. | Kunzhan Cai Yilai Jiao Quan Quan Yulin Hao Jie Liu Lin Wu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 6 |

| 12 | Precise time frequency synchronization technology for bistatic radar显示文摘A complete method of synchronization technology of bistatic radar using global position system (GPS) is presented. The pulse per second signal (1PPS) is elaborately modified to increase the time synchronization precision and keep loop locking. A very high time synchronization precision is achieved. Using the modified 1PPS to discipline the local OCXO, the reference frequency signal achieves both high long term stability (LTS) and short term stability (STS) properties. An algorithm, named phase abrupt change CFAR is presented to restrain the 1PPS phase abrupt change and keep loop locking. The experimental results indicate that this time and frequency synchronization method is effective and the time synchronization precision of the synchronization system can be improved from ±100 ns to ±25 ns. | 13 | Depression accelerates gastric cancer invasion and metastasis by inducing a neuroendocrine phenotype via the catecholamine/β_(2)-AR/MACC1 axis显示文摘Background:Depression is a common,easily ignored,accompanied disease of gastric cancer(GC)patients and is often observed with elevated plasma catecholamine levels.Depression frequently promotes GC progression and leads to poor clinical outcomes;however,the molecular mechanisms underlying depression-induced GC progression remain poorly understood.We aimed to study the effects of depression on GC progression and explore possible mechanisms mediating the action of depression-associated catecholamines on GC.Methods:Depression states of GC patients were graded using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9,and plasma catecholamine levels were examined by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.Migrative and invasive GC cells were examined using transwell assays,and metastatic GC niches were imaged using bioluminescence technology in a depression mouse model established with chronic unpredictable mild stress.Mouse depression-like behaviors were assessed through sucrose preference,forced swimming,and tail suspension tests.Characteristics of the neuroendocrine phenotype were observed via RT-PCR,Western blotting,flow cytometry,and transmission electron microscopy.Results:Fifty-one GC patients(age:53.61±1.79 years;cancer duration:3.71±0.33 months;depression duration:2.37±0.38 months;male-to-female ratio:1.55:1)were enrolled in the study.Depression grade was significantly higher in GC patients showing higher plasma levels of catecholamines(epinephrine:P=0.018;noradrenaline:P=0.009),higher oncogene metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1(MACC1)level(P=0.018),and metastasis(P<0.001).Further,depression-associated catecholamine specifically bound to the beta-2 adrenergic receptor(β_(2)-AR)and upregulated MACC1 expression,and thus promoting neuroendocrine phenotypic transformation through direct binding betweenMACC1 and synaptophysin.Eventually,the neuroendocrine phenotypic transformation accelerated GC invasion in vitro and metastasis in vivo.However,β_(2)-AR antagonist ICI-118,551 or MACC1 silencing effectively blocked the catecholamineinduced neuroendocrine phenotypic transformation and eliminated depressionenhanced GC migration and invasion.Moreover,β_(2)-AR blocking or MACC1 silencing prevented GC metastasis attributed to a neuroendocrine phenotype in a depression mouse model.Conclusions:Catecholamine-induced neuroendocrine phenotypes of GC cells led to depression-accelerated GC invasion and metastasis via the β_(2)-AR/MACC1 axis,while β_(2)-AR antagonist or MACC1 silencing could reverse it,showing promising potential therapeutic strategies for improving the outcome of GC patients with comorbid depression. | Changqie Pan Jianhua Wu Siting Zheng Huiying Sun Yisheng Fang Zhenhua Huang Min Shi Li Liang Jianping Bin Yulin Liao Jinzhang Chen Wangjun Liao | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,10: | 4 |

| 16 | Silica supply and diatom blooms in the Jiaozhou Bay, China显示文摘The variations in nutrients(molar ratios) and chlorophyll a in the Jiaozhou Bay were examined before and after a diatom bloom in a period that lasted from November 2003 to March 2004. Negative relationships between nutrient concentrations, Si/P, Si/N ratios and chlorophyll a content were found during the bloom, which reflected the relationship between nutrient concentrations, phytoplankton biomass and growth. Large increase in nutrient concentrations, particularly SiO_3-Si after the late autumn, is one of major reasons inducing the diatom bloom in winter, and the bloom was finally controlled due to SiO_3-Si depletion by phytoplankton. The bloom was mainly controlled by SiO_3-Si. Before 1998, relatively low level of SiO_3-Si kept ecological balance of eutrophication waters in the Jiaozhou Bay. In recent years, however, human activities have increased SiO_3-Si concentration, which is likely one of the primary cause for the increased diatom blooms in the Jiaozhou Bay. | 20 | The interaction between polyphyllin I and SQLE protein induces hepatotoxicity through SREBP-2/HMGCR/SQLE/LSS pathway显示文摘Polyphyllin I(PPI)and polyphyllin II(PII)are the main active substances in the Paris polyphylla.However,liver toxicity of these compounds has impeded their clinical application and the potential hepatotoxicity mechanisms remain to be elucidated.In this work,we found that PPI and PII exposure could induce significant hepatotoxicity in human liver cell line L-02 and zebrafish in a dose-dependent manner.The results of the proteomic analysis in L-02 cells and transcriptome in zebrafish indicated that the hepatotoxicity of PPI and PII was associated with the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway disorders,which were alleviated by the cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor lovastatin.Additionally,3-hydroxy-3-methy-lglutaryl CoA reductase(HMGCR)and squalene epoxidase(SQLE),the two rate-limiting enzymes in the cholesterol synthesis,selected as the potential targets,were confirmed by the molecular docking,the overexpression,and knockdown of HMGCR or SQLE with siRNA.Finally,the pull-down and surface plasmon resonance technology revealed that PPI could directly bind with SQLE but not with HMGCR.Collectively,these data demonstrated that PPI-induced hepatotoxicity resulted from the direct binding with SQLE protein and impaired the sterol-regulatory element binding protein 2/HMGCR/SQLE/lanosterol synthase pathways,thus disturbing the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway.The findings of this research can contribute to a better understanding of the key role of SQLE as a potential target in drug-induced hepatotoxicity and provide a therapeutic strategy for the prevention of drug toxic effects with similar structures in the future. | Zhiqi Li Qiqi Fan Meilin Chen Ying Dong Farong Li Mingshuang Wang Yulin Gu Simin Guo Xianwen Ye Jiarui Wu Shengyun Dai Ruichao Lin Chongjun Zhao | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,1: | 2 |
