1Review and prospect of NiCo_(2)O_(4)-based composite materials for supercapacitor electrodes显示文摘Supercapacitors known as typical electrochemical capacitors have been considered as one of the most promising candidates of energy storage systems owing to their advantages such as high-power density,long life span and lower production cost.The electrode materials play a crucial role on properties of supercapacitors.Hence,many researches have been focused on the development of novel electrode materials for high-performance supercapacitors.NiCo_2O_4as supercapacitor electrode material has drawn more and more attentions in recent years due to its outstanding advantages,such as high theoretical capacity,low cost,natural abundance and easy of synthesis.However,the NiCo_2O_4always suffer from severe capacity deterioration because of the low electrical conductivity and small surface area.Hence,it is necessary to systematically and comprehensively summarize the progress in understanding and modifying NiCo_2O_4-based materials from various aspects.In this review,the structure and synthesis method of NiCo_2O_4-based materials are discussed in detail.And then,the major goal of this review is to highlight new progress in using proposed strategies to improve the cycling stability and rate capacity of NiCo_2O_4-based materials,including synthesis,control of special morphologies and design of composite materials.Finally,an insight into the future research and development of Ni Co_2O_4-based materials for supercapacitors is prospected.Yanmei Li Xiao Han Tingfeng Yi Yanbing He Xifei Li 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,4:14
2In-situ observations of internal dissolved heavy metal release in relation to sediment suspension in lake Taihu, China显示文摘Despite laboratory experiments that have been performed to study internal heavy metal release,our understanding of how heavy metals release in shallow eutrophic lakes remains limited for lacking in-situ evidence.This study used automatic environmental sensors and a water sampling system to conduct high-frequency in-situ observations(1-hr intervals)of water environmental variables and to collect water samples(3-hr intervals),with which to examine the release of internal heavy metals in Lake Taihu,China.Under conditions of disturbance by strong northerly winds,sediment resuspension in both the estuary area and the lake center caused particulate heavy metal resuspension.However,the patterns of concentrations of dissolved heavy metals in these two areas were complex.The concentrations of dissolved Se and Mo increased in both areas,indicating that release of internal dissolved Se and Mo is triggered by sediment resuspension.The concentrations of dissolved Ni,Zn,As,Mn,Cu,V,and Co tended to increase in the estuary area but decrease in the lake center.The different trends between these two areas were controlled by pH and cyanobacteria,which are related to eutrophication.During the strong northerly winds,the decrease in concentrations of dissolved heavy metals in the lake center was attributable primarily to absorption by the increased suspended solids,and to growth-related assimilation or surface adsorption by the increased cyanobacteria.The findings of this study suggest that,short-term changes of environmental conditions are very important in relation to reliable monitoring and risk assessment of heavy metals in shallow eutrophic lakes.Tingfeng Wu Guangwei Zhu Jianghai Chen Tengteng Yang 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11:7
3Sources, evolution and impacts of EC and OC in snow on sea ice: a measurement study in Barrow, Alaska显示文摘Based on the field measurements in Barrow, Alaska within the period of April-May 2015, we investigate the sources and variations of elemental carbon(EC) and organic carbon(OC) in the surface layer of snowpack on sea ice, and estimate their effects on the sea ice albedo. Results show that the snow OC in Barrow are from natural sources(e.g. terrestrial higher plants and micro-organisms) mainly, as well as biomass burning(e.g. forest fires and straw combustion) as an important part. Both EC and OC can accumulate at the snow surface with snow melt. The variations in EC and OC and liquid water content in the snow layer are well consistent during the snow-melting period. A higher rate of snow melt implied a more efficient enrichment of EC and OC. In the last phase of snow melt, the concentration increased to a maximum of 16.2 ng/g for EC and 128 ng/g for OC, which is ~10 times larger than those before snow melt onset. Except for the dominant influence of melt amplification mechanism, the variation in concentrations of EC and OC could be disturbed by the air temperature fluctuation and snowfall. Our study indicates that the lightabsorbing impurities contributed 1.6%-5.1% to the reduction in sea ice albedo with melt during the measurement period. The significant period oflight-absorbing impurities influencing on sea ice albedo begins with the rapid melting of overlying snow and ends before the melt ponds formed widely, which lasted for about 10 days in Barrow, 2015.Tingfeng Dou Cunde Xiao Zhiheng Du J. 4A vertically integrated eutrophication model and its application to a river-style reservoir-Fuchunjiang,China显示文摘Based on a 2-D hydrodynamic model,a vertically integrated eutrophication model was developed.The physical sub-model can be used for calculation of water density at different depths,and the water quality sub-model was used for calculation of algal growth.The cohesive and non-cohesive sediments were simulated separately with different methods.The light extinction coeffcient used in the underwater light regime sub-model was linearly related to the sum of sediment and phytoplankton biomass.Some components less important to the model were simplified to improve practicability and calculation effciency.Using field data from Fuchunjiang Reservoir,we calculated the sensitivity of ecological parameters included in this model and validated the model.The results of sensitivity analysis showed that the parameters strongly inffuenced the phytoplankton biomass,including phytoplankton maximum growth rate,respiration rate,non-predatory mortality rate,settling rate,zooplankton maximum filtration rate,specific extinction coeffcient for suspended solids and sediment oxygen demand rate.The model was calibrated by adjusting these parameters.Total chlorophyll a(chl-a) concentrations at different layers in the water column were reproduced very well by the model simulations.The simulated chl-a values were positively correlated to the measured values with Pearson correlation coeffcient of 0.92.The mean difference between measured and simulated chl-a concentrations was 12% of the measured chl-a concentration.Measured and simulated DO concentrations were also positively correlated(r = 0.74) and the mean difference was 4% of measured DO concentrations.The successful validation of model indicated that it would be very useful in water quality management and algal bloom prediction in Fuchunjiang Reservoir and a good tool for water quality regulation of other river-style reservoirs.WU Tingfeng LUOLiancong QIN Boqiang CUI Guangbai YUZuoming YAO Zhiming 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:6
5Changes in the Proportion of Precipitation Occurring as Rain in Northern Canada during Spring–Summer from 1979–2015显示文摘Changes in the form of precipitation have a considerable impact on the Arctic cryosphere and ecological system by influencing the energy balance and surface runoff. In this study, station observations and ERA-Interim data were used to analyze changes in the rainfall to precipitation ratio(RPR) in northern Canada during the spring–summer season(March–July)from 1979–2015. Our results indicate that ERA-Interim describes the spring–summer variations and trends in temperature and the RPR well. Both the spring–summer mean temperature [0.4℃–1℃(10 yr)^(-1)] and the RPR [2%–6%(10 yr)^(-1)] increased significantly in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago from 1979–2015. 6The characteristic periodicity analysis of the radio flux variability of quasar PKS 1510-089显示文摘A wavelet analysis method is introduced to study the possible periods of PKS 1510-089 in radio bands. By compiling the radio light curve of PKS 1510-089 at frequencies of 22 and 37 GHz from 1990 to 2005, and using the wavelet analysis method, the evidence of quasi-periodic activity in PKS 1510-089 was obtained. The results indicate that: (1) There are two stable outburst periods of T1=(1.80±0.06) yr and T2= (0.90±0.07) yr presenting in the isoplethal map of PKS 1510-089 at the radio band 37 GHz; (2) there is an outburst period of T1=(1.80±0.06) yr presenting at the radio band 22 GHz; (3) by the continuum of the isograms map, we find the primary period of PKS 1510-089 is T1=(1.80±0.06) yr, and the period of T2= (0.90±0.07) yr may be the half period. The above results are consistent with the reports of Xie et al. (2004, 2005, 2008), Wu et al. (2005) and Liu & Fan (2007), using the other methods. 7Reconstruction of autumn sea ice extent changes since AD1289 in the Barents-Kara Sea, Arctic显示文摘Using high-resolution ice core and tree ring proxies for sea ice extent(SIE), we reconstructed a robust time series of autumn SIE over the Barents-Kara(B-K) sector of the Arctic from AD1289–1993. After intercomparing the results and statistical parameters using the ordinary least squares regression(OLSR), the principle component regression(PCR) and the partial least squares regression(PLSR) methods, SIE time series were synthesized into a more robust series using the weighted average method, which used the explained variances as weights. The results showed that from the end of the 13 th century to the end of18 th century, the autumn B-K SIE was large, with large variations and a slightly expanding trend overall. This reflected significant multidecadal oscillations under the Little Ice Age(LIA) background. The B-K SIE began to decrease at the end of the18 th century, and a shrinking trend became significant during the second half of the 19 th century, which lasted into the 1930 s–1940 s. The 1930 s–1940 s was a period with a relatively low SIE in the B-K Sea, and the SIE had a short period of expansion from the 1940 s–1970 s. However, the B-K SIE has continuously and significantly shrank since the 1970 s. The reduction in the B-K SIE since the end of the 18 th century has been unprecedented in both duration and speed over the last 700 years. The B-K SIE has retreated significantly since the 1970 s, with a speed 6.18 times greater than the former mean retreating speed. The industrial revolution may be a dominant factor in this result. 9Powder electrochemical properties with different particle sizes of spinel LiAl_(0.05)Mn_(1.95)O_4 synthesized by sol-gel method显示文摘An Al-doped spinel lithium manganese oxide was prepared by the adipic acid-assisted sol-gel method at 800°C, and the cathode materials (LiAl0.05Mn1.95O4) with different particle sizes were obtained through ball milling. The effects of particle size on the electrochemical performance of LiAl0.05Mn1.95O4 samples were investigated by differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, galvanostatic charge-discharge test, cyclic voltammetry, and electro- chemical impedance spectroscopy. 10Measurements of physical characteristics of summer snow cover on sea ice during the Third Chinese Arctic Expedition显示文摘The spatial distribution of snow cover on the central Arctic sea ice is investigated here based on the observations made during the Third Chinese Arctic Expedition. Six types of snow were observed during the expedition: new/recent snow, melt-freeze crust, icy layer, depth hoar, coarse-grained, and chains of depth hoar. Across most measurement areas, the snow surface was covered by a melt-freeze crust 2-3 cm thick, which was produced by alternate strong solar radiation and the sharp temperature decrease over the summer Arctic Ocean. There was an intermittent layer of snow and ice at the base of the snow pack. The mean bulk density of the snow was 304.01±29.00 kg/m3 along the expedition line, and the surface values were generally smaller than those of the subsurface, confirming the principle of snow densification. In addition, the thicknesses and water equivalents of the new/recent and total-layer snow showed a decreasing trend with latitude, suggesting that the amount of snow cover and its spatial variations were mainly determined by precipitation. Snow temperature also presented significant variations in the vertical profile, and ablation and evaporation were not the primary factors in the snow assessment in late summer. 11Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Unsteady Tip Leakage Flow in Axial Compressor Cascade显示文摘For convenience of both measurement and adjusting the clearance size and incidence, the current research is mainly conducted by experiments on an axial compressor linear cascade. The characteristics and the condition under which the unsteadiness of tip leakage flow would occur were investigated by dynamic measuring in different clearances, inlet velocities and incidences. From the experiment it is found that increasing tip clearance size or reducing rotor tip incidence can affect the strength of the tip clearance flow. Then the experimental results also indicate the tip leakage shows instability in certain conditions, and the frequency of unsteadiness is great influenced by inflow angle. The condition of occurrence of tip leakage flow unsteadiness is when the leakage flow is strong enough to reach the pressure side of the adjacent blade. 12Mesoporous NiCo_2O_4 nanoneedles@MnO_2 nanoparticles grown on nickel foam for electrode used in high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘Mesoporous NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2 nanoneedle arrays as electrode materials for supercapacitor grown on a conductive nickel foam were prepared by a facile hydrothermal route. The interconnected mesoporous structure of the NiCo_2O_4 nanoneedle arrays provides a large specific surface area for charge storage.The electrochemically active MnO_2 nanoparticles covered on the surface of NiCo_2O_4 nanoneedle result in a favorable synergistic storage effect because of charge redistribution at the NiCo_2O_4|MnO_2 interface,which reduces the interfacial polarization and facilitates ion diffusion. The initial specific capacitance of NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2(S2) is 1001 F g^(-1) at current density of 15 A g^(-1). The capacity retention of S2 is about87.4% after 4000 cycles, and the specific capacitance of S2 electrode only decreases from 1001 F g^(-1) to736 F g^(-1) even after 10,000 cycles. The first-principles calculations show that a chemical bonding between the NiCo_2O_4 and MnO_2 is not only helpful for stabilizing the composites but also leads to a charge redistribution at the interface, which may lead to a smaller interfacial polarization and thus beneficial for the interfacial capacity. The excellent electrochemical performance of NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2 composites(S2)can be ascribed to the high surface area, unique architecture, MnO_2 nanoparticle modification, reduced charge transfer resistance and stable interface between NiCo_2O_4 and MnO_2. 13A Preliminary Investigation of Arctic Sea Ice Negative Freeboard from in-situ Observations and Radar Altimetry显示文摘The negative freeboard of sea ice(i.e., the height of ice surface below sea level) with subsequent flooding is widespread in the Southern Ocean, as opposed to the Arctic, due to the relatively thicker ice and thinner snow. In this study, we used the observations of snow and ice thickness from 103 ice mass balance buoys(IMBs) and NASA Operation IceBridge Aircraft Missions to investigate the spatial distribution of negative freeboard of Arctic sea ice. The Result showed that seven IMBs recorded negative freeboards, which were sporadically located in the seas around Northeast Greenland, the Central Arctic Ocean, and the marginal areas of the Chukchi–Beaufort Sea. The observed maximum values of negative freeboard could reach-0.12 m in the seas around Northeast Greenland. The observations from IceBridge campaigns also revealed negative freeboard comparable to those of IMBs in the seas around North Greenland and the Beaufort Sea. We further investigated the large-scale distribution of negative freeboard using NASA CryoSat-2 radar altimeter data, and the result indicates that except for the negative freeboard areas observed by IMBs and IceBridge, there are negative freeboards in other marginal seas of the Arctic Ocean. 17Temperature-sensitive polymeric nanogels encapsulating withβ-cyclodextrin and ICG complex for high-resolution deep-tissue ultrasound-switchable fluorescence imaging显示文摘One of the thorny problems currently impeding the applications of the fluorescence imaging technique is the poor spatial resolution in deep tissue.Ultrasound-switchable fluorescence(USF)imaging is a novel imaging tool that has recently been explored to possibly surmount the above-mentioned bottleneck.Herein,αβ-cyclodextrin/indocyanine green(ICG)complex-encapsulated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM)nanogel was synthesized and studied for ex vivo/in vivo deep tissue/high-resolution near infrared USF(NIR-USF)imaging.To be specific,our results revealed that the average diameter of the as-prepared nanogels was significantly decreased to-32 nm from-335 nm compared to the reported ICG-PNIPAM nanoparticles.Additionally,the excitation/emission characteristics of the ICG itself in present nanogels were almost completely retained,and the resultant nanogel exhibited high physiological stability and positive biocompatibility.In particular,the signal-to-noise ratio of the USF image for the PNIPAM/P-cyclodextrin/ICG nanogel(33.01±2.42 dB)was prominently higher than that of the ICG-PNIPAM nanoparticles(18.73±0.33 dB)in 1.5-cm-thick chicken breast tissues.The NIR-USF imaging in 3.5-cm-thick chicken breast tissues was achieved using this new probe.The e x v iv o NIR-USF imaging of the mouse liver was also successfully obtained.Animal experiments showed that the present nanogels were able to be effectively accumulated into U87 tumor-bearing mice via enhanced permeability and retention effects,and the high-resolution NIR-USF imaging of in v ivo tumor was efficiently acquired.The metabolism and in vivo biodistribution of the nanogels were evaluated.Overall,the results suggest that the current nanogel is a highly promising NIR-USF probe for deep tissue and high-resolution USF imaging.Ruilin Liu Tingfeng Yao Yang Liu Shuai Yu Liqin Ren Yi Hong Kytai T.Nguyen Baohong Yuan 2020Nano Research2020,13,4:1
