1Multispectral sensing of biological liquids with hollow-core microstructured optical fibres显示文摘The state of the art in optical biosensing is focused on reaching high sensitivity at a single wavelength by using any type of optical resonance.This common strategy,however,disregards the promising possibility of simultaneous measurements of a bioanalyte’s refractive index over a broadband spectral domain.Here,we address this issue by introducing the approach of in-fibre multispectral optical sensing(IMOS).The operating principle relies on detecting changes in the transmission of a hollow-core microstructured optical fibre when a bioanalyte is streamed through it via liquid cells.IMOS offers a unique opportunity to measure the refractive index at 42 wavelengths,with a sensitivity up to ~3000 nm per refractive index unit(RIU)and a figure of merit reaching 99 RIU^(−1) in the visible and near-infra-red spectral ranges.We apply this technique to determine the concentration and refractive index dispersion for bovine serum albumin and show that the accuracy meets clinical needs.Timur Ermatov Roman E.Noskov Andrey AMachnev Ivan Gnusov Vsevolod Atkin Ekaterina N.Lazareva Sergei V.German Sergey S.Kosolobov Timofei S.Zatsepin Olga V.Sergeeva Julia S.Skibina Pavel Ginzburg Valery V.Tuchin Pavlos G.Lagoudakis Dmitry A.Gorin 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
2Advances in the development of new biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a complex,heterogeneous,progressive disease and is the most common type of neurodegenerative dementia.The prevalence of AD is expected to increase as the population ages,placing an additional burden on national healthcare systems.There is a large need for new diagnostic tests that can detect AD at an early stage with high specificity at relatively low cost.The development of modern analytical diagnostic tools has made it possible to determine several biomarkers of AD with high specificity,including pathogenic proteins,markers of synaptic dysfunction,and markers of inflammation in the blood.There is a considerable potential in using microRNA(miRNA)as markers of AD,and diagnostic studies based on miRNA panels suggest that AD could potentially be determined with high accuracy for individual patients.Studies of the retina with improved methods of visualization of the fundus are also showing promising results for the potential diagnosis of the disease.This review focuses on the recent developments of blood,plasma,and ocular biomarkers for the diagnosis of AD.Timofey O.Klyucherev Pawel Olszewski Alena A.Shalimova Vladimir N.Chubarev Vadim V.Tarasov Misty M.Attwood Stina Syvänen Helgi B.Schiöth 2022Translational Neurodegeneration2022,11,1:2

15Modeling antiphase boundary energies of Ni_(3)Al-based alloys using automated density functional theory and machine learning显示文摘Antiphase boundaries(APBs)are planar defects that play a critical role in strengthening Ni-based superalloys,and their sensitivity to alloy composition offers a flexible tuning parameter for alloy design.Here,we report a computational workflow to enable the development of sufficient data to train machine-learning(ML)models to automate the study of the effect of composition on the(111)APB energy in Ni_(3)Al-based alloys.We employ ML to leverage this wealth of data and identify several physical properties that are used to build predictive models for the APB energy that achieve a cross-validation error of 0.033 J m^(−2).We demonstrate the transferability of these models by predicting APB energies in commercial superalloys.Moreover,our use of physically motivated features such as the ordering energy and stoichiometry-based features opens the way to using existing materials properties databases to guide superalloy design strategies to maximize the APB energy.Enze Chen Artur Tamm Tao Wang Mario E.Epler Mark Asta Timofey Frolov 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0
16Antitumor efficacy of multi-target in situ vaccinations with CpG oligodeoxynucleotides,anti-OX40,anti-PD1 antibodies,and aptamers显示文摘To overcome immune tolerance to cancer,the immune system needs to be exposed to a multi-target action intervention.Here,we investigated the activating effect of CpG oligodeoxynucleotides(ODNs),mesyl phosphoramidate CpG ODNs,anti-OX40 antibodies,and OX40 RNA aptamers on major populations of immunocompetent cells ex vivo.Comparative analysis of the antitumor effects of in situ vaccination with CpG ODNs and anti-OX40 antibodies,as well as several other combinations,such as mesyl phosphoramidate CpG ODNs and OX40 RNA aptamers,was conducted.Antibodies against programmed death 1(PD1)checkpoint inhibitors or their corresponding PD1 DNA aptamers were also added to vaccination regimens for analytical purposes.Four scenarios were considered:a weakly immunogenic Krebs-2 carcinoma grafted in CBA mice;a moderately immunogenic Lewis carcinoma grafted in C57Black/6 mice;and an immunogenic A20 B cell lymphoma or an Ehrlich carcinoma grafted in BALB/c mice.Adding anti-PD1 antibodies(CpG+αOX40+αPD1)to in situ vaccinations boosts the antitumor effect.When to be used instead of antibodies,aptamers also possess antitumor activity,although this effect was less pronounced.The strongest effect across all the tumors was observed in highly immunogenic A20 B cell lymphoma and Ehrlich carcinoma.Anastasia S.Proskurina Vera S.Ruzanova Genrikh S.Ritter Yaroslav R.Efremov Zakhar S.Mustafin Sergey A.Lashin Ekaterina A.Burakova Alesya A.Fokina Timofei S.Zatsepin Dmitry A.Stetsenko Olga Y.Leplina Alexandr A.Ostanin Elena R.Chernykh Sergey S.Bogachev 2023The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,3:0
