| 1 | Soil fungal community is more sensitive to nitrogen deposition than increased rainfall in a mixed deciduous forest of China显示文摘Nitrogen(N)deposition and intensified rainfall can strongly affect soil microbial community,but compared with available studies on bacteria,those on soil fungi are quite limited.Here we carried out a field experiment in a mixed deciduous forest of China to study the influences of increased N deposition and rainfall on soil fungi by using quantitative PCR and high-throughput sequencing method.The results demonstrated that(1)N addition significantly increased fungal abundance and alpha diversity(richness,Shannon index and Invsimpson index),changed fungal community composition at OTU level,and marginally increased the relative abundance of Ascomycota and Zygomycota,while water addition showed no remarkable effects on fungal abundance,biodiversity and community composition.(2)N addition significantly increased the richness of saprotrophic fungi and pathogenic fungi,and the relative abundance of saprotrophic fungi,but water addition only slightly increased the abundance of pathogenic fungi.(3)Fungal composition dissimilarity closely correlated with the disparity of soil parameters as a whole.Soil NH_(4)^(+)-N exhibited strong positive correlation with the richness of pathogenic fungi and mycorrhizal fungi,while both soil moisture and NH_(4)^(+)-N tightly correlated with soil fungal abundance and alpha diversity indices.We concluded that in this N-limited but non-water-limited forest ecosystem,N deposition posed stronger effects on soil fungi than increased rainfall,partially mediated by changes in soil properties. | Aihua Zhao Lei Liu Baodong Chen Wei Fu Wei Xie Tianle Xu Wei Zhang Qing Ye Haiyan Feng Shenglei Fu | 2020 | Soil Ecology Letters2020,2,1: | 5 |
| 2 | Enrichment of heavy metals in coal gangue by puff balls and mechanism research显示文摘Coal gangue with/without wild puff balls growing on or covering up were analyzed by means of inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES) and atomic fluorescence spectrometry(AFS) to detect the contents of heavy metal elements in the plants. Seven heavy metals were chosen to do the experiments, which showed that the puff balls have strong enrichment capacity for heavy metals(As, Pb, Mn and Ni). The highest enrichment level was Mn, 220.3 mg/kg(dry weight) for puffball fruiting bodies, and the highest As, Cr and Pb enrichment levels for puffball mycelium were 111, 265.3 and 86 mg/kg, respectively. Cd, Mn and Ni could transfer from puffball mycelium to its fruiting bodies, while As, Cr, Pb and Co mainly accumulated in the mycelium. The contents of five organic acids(tartaric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid and malic acid) in puffballs were determined with high performance liquid chromatography. With water, ethanol and ethyl acetate as solvents, the puffball extracts performed dissolution reactions with coal gangue, in which the water extract(containing a large amount of organic acids) was most effective in releasing heavy metals, especially As, Pb, Cr, Mn, Co and Ni from coal gangue. | 3 | Toxic Effects of Micro-plastics on Zebrafish Embryos显示文摘The large plastic produced by human production and life is degraded into micro-plastics in the environment. Micro-plastics are harmful to organisms and the environment. In order to determine the hazards of micro-plastic pollution,zebrafish embryos were used as the tested organism,and 0. 6-1. 0 μm polystyrene micro-plastic was used to carry out embryo exposure experiment. The toxic effects of polystyrene plastic particles on zebrafish embryos were investigated comprehensively,and the toxicity was evaluated. The results of this study showed that 0. 6-1. 0 μm polystyrene micro-plastic had certain toxicity on zebrafish embryos,and it had a lethal effect when the concentration reached 250 mg/L; 25 mg/L 0. 6-1. 0 μm polystyrene particles can cause cyrtosis and pericardial edema of zebrafish embryos and other non-lethal toxic effects; and 250 and 1 000 mg/L exposure concentration can slow down heart rate. | 4 | Influence of litter decomposition on iron and manganese in the sediments of wetlands for acid mine drainage treatments显示文摘Plant litter will influence the bioavailability of heavy metals in sediments of wetlands used to treat acid mine drainage. To investigate the effect of plant litter on sediments in wetlands and define the comprehensive and continuous role of plant litter, different mass ratios(0%,5%, 20%) of litter were added into the sediments to study the influence of litter decomposition on the overlying water and sediments. The changes in pH, EC, Eh, Fe, and Mn of the overlying water and the organic matter in the sediments and the forms of Fe and Mn after 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days of litter decomposition were studied. The results indicated that litter decomposition increased the pH, EC, and reduced Eh of the overlying water. Litter decomposition promoted the release of Fe and Mn from the sediments into the overlying water and with the continuous decomposition of litter, the concentration of Fe and Mn in the overlying water declined. Litter decomposition increased the content of the organic matter in the sediment, and the forms of Fe and Mn indicated that litter decomposition could significantly affect the transformation of the forms of Fe and Mn.Reducible Fe was the main form in the sediments. Litter decomposition promoted the transformation of reducible Fe, the main form found in the sediments, intoexchangeable and oxidizable Fe, but had no effect on residual form. | 8 | Effects of a proline solution cover on the geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of high-sulfur coal gangue显示文摘Batch experiments were conducted to comparatively evaluate the inhibition effects and mechanisms of a low-concentration(1%) proline solution cover on the release of pollutants from high-sulfur coal gangue. Highsulfur coal gangue was continuously immersed in a proline solution and in deionized water(as a control treatment) for540 days. The results showed that the coal gangue in the control treatment was oxidized and generated leachate with poor water qualities, i.e., the leachate exhibited lower p H values, higher redox potential values, higher pollutant concentrations(SO_4^(2-), Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn), and high levels of acidophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. However,compared to the control treatment, the addition of the proline solution(1%) significantly improved the water quality of the leachate by significantly reducing the Eh values, the pollutant concentrations(SO_4^(2-), Fe^(2+), Fe, Mn,Cu, and Zn), and the activity of acidophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria and by significantly increasing the pH value to neutral. The proline treatment significantly inhibited the oxidation of coal gangue and the release of pollutants,mainly by inhibiting the activity of acidophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria and by altering the heavy metal fractions and the mineralogical characteristics.
