| 1 | A micromirror array with annular partitioning for high-speed random-access axial focusing显示文摘Dynamic axial focusing functionality has recently experienced widespread incorporation in microscopy,augmented/virtual reality(AR/VR),adaptive optics and material processing.However,the limitations of existing varifocal tools continue to beset the performance capabilities and operating overhead of the optical systems that mobilize such functionality.The varifocal tools that are the least burdensome to operate(e.g.liquid crystal,elastomeric or optofluidic lenses)suffer from low(≈100 Hz)refresh rates.Conversely,the fastest devices sacrifice either critical capabilities such as their dwelling capacity(e.g.acoustic gradient lenses or monolithic micromechanical mirrors)or low operating overhead(e.g.deformable mirrors).Here,we present a general-purpose random-access axial focusing device that bridges these previously conflicting features of high speed,dwelling capacity and lightweight drive by employing lowrigidity micromirrors that exploit the robustness of defocusing phase profiles.Geometrically,the device consists of an 8.2mm diameter array of piston-motion and 48-μm-pitch micromirror pixels that provide 2πphase shifting for wavelengths shorter than 1100 nm with 10-90% settling in 64.8μs(i.e.,15.44 kHz refresh rate).The pixels are electrically partitioned into 32 rings for a driving scheme that enables phase-wrapped operation with circular symmetry and requires<30 V per channel.Optical experiments demonstrated the array’s wide focusing range with a measured ability to target 29 distinct resolvable depth planes.Overall,the features of the proposed array offer the potential for compact,straightforward methods of tackling bottlenecked applications,including high-throughput single-cell targeting in neurobiology and the delivery of dense 3D visual information in AR/VR. | Nathan Tessema Ersumo Cem Yalcin Nick Antipa Nicolas Pegard Laura Waller Daniel Lopez Rikky Muller | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 2 |
| 2 | Vulnerability analysis of smallholder farmers to climate variability and change: an agroecological system-based approach in the Fincha’a sub-basin of the upper Blue Nile Basin of Ethiopia显示文摘Background:Ethiopia is frequently cited as a country that is highly vulnerable to climate variability and change.The country’s high vulnerability arises mostly from climate-sensitive agricultural sector that suffers a lot from risks associated with rainfall variability.The vulnerability factors(exposure,sensitivity,and adaptive capacity)of the agricultural livelihoods to climate variability and change differ across agro-ecological systems(AESs).Therefore,the aim of this study was to analyze AES-specific vulnerability of smallholder farmers to climate variability and change in the Fincha’a sub-basin.We surveyed 380 respondents from 4 AESs(highland,midland,wetland,and lowland)randomly selected.Furthermore,focus group discussion and key informant interviews were also performed to supplement and substantiate the quantitative data.Livelihood vulnerability index was employed to analyze the levels of smallholders’agriculture vulnerability to climate variability and change.Data on socioeconomic and biophysical attribute were collected and combined into the indices and vulnerability score was calculated for each agro-ecological system.Results:Considerable variation was observed across the agro-ecological systems in profile,indicator,and the three livelihood vulnerability indices-Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change dimensions(exposure,sensitivity,and adaptive capacity)of vulnerability.The lowland AES exhibited higher exposure,low adaptive capacity,and high vulnerability,while the midland AES demonstrated lower exposure,higher adaptive capacity,and lower vulnerability.The wetland and highland AESs scored intermediate results.Conclusion:Our results suggest that resilience-building adaptation strategies are vital to reduce the vulnerability of smallholder farmers.The measures taken should consider site-specific agro-ecological system requirements to reduce the vulnerability of smallholder mixed crop-livestock agriculture system.Since the approach based on the long-term realization of the community,any strategy designed based on such assessments is applicable to local condition. | Israel Tessema Belay Simane | 2019 | Ecological Processes2019,8,1: | 2 |

| 17 | 狄斯瓦螨对意大利蜜蜂工蜂呼吸代谢的影响显示文摘【目的】意大利蜜蜂Apis mellifera ligustica(简称“意蜂”)是世界重要的授粉昆虫,对维持生态平衡、提高农产品产量和保障粮食安全至关重要。但受狄斯瓦螨Varroa destructor侵害,全世界的意蜂蜂群每年都受到巨大损失。本研究主要探讨狄斯瓦螨对意蜂工蜂呼吸代谢的影响,为今后深入研究狄斯瓦螨与意蜂之间的相互作用奠定基础。【方法】应用SSI多通道昆虫呼吸仪测定感染狄斯瓦螨意蜂与健康意蜂不同发育阶段(4日龄幼虫、5日龄蛹、新出房成蜂和6日龄成蜂)工蜂的耗氧量、CO 2释放量和呼吸商,并分析其变化特征;同时采用实时荧光定量PCR(RT-qPCR)方法分析狄斯瓦螨感染意蜂与健康意蜂成年工蜂中呼吸代谢相关基因(Coq7,COXⅠ,CytB,CytC和IF-2 mt)的表达量变化。【结果】受狄斯瓦螨侵染后,意蜂工蜂耗氧量、CO 2释放量呈现出先上升后下降的趋势,其中耗氧量从5日龄蛹期的0.0244 mL/min下降至6日龄成蜂期的0.0093 mL/min;CO 2释放量从5日龄蛹期的0.0174 mL/min下降至6日龄成蜂期的0.0040 mL/min,极显著低于同龄期健康意蜂工蜂的。健康意蜂工蜂呼吸商随其生长过程逐渐增加,至6日龄成蜂时呼吸商最高,达0.9169;而狄斯瓦螨感染意蜂工蜂呼吸商则呈下降趋势,6日龄成蜂时呼吸商最低,为0.4424,显著低于同龄期健康成年工蜂的。实时荧光定量PCR结果发现,狄斯瓦螨感染意蜂成年工蜂中CytB和CytC基因的相对表达量分别是健康意蜂成年工蜂的1.7676和1.9929倍,差异显著。【结论】狄斯瓦螨侵染可直接影响意蜂工蜂的呼吸代谢,导致其正常代谢途径发生紊乱,严重破坏蜂群正常生长发育。 | 谭静 武江利 涂洋洋 Tessema AYNALEM 于慧敏 李南南 李小英 徐书法 | 2020 | 昆虫学报2020,63,11: | 1 |
