| 1 | Comparison of purification processes of natural gas obtained from three different regions in the world显示文摘Natural gases obtained from different regions in the world as Scholen-Germany, Saudi Arabia and Iran were purified with a package code and the obtained results were compared in this study. For purification process, both natural gases flowing in a vertical pipe and monoethanolamine (MEA) flowing as a film from the internal surface of a pipe were examined together. Both fluids were flown in a vertical and laminar regime. Binary diffusion coefficients, Schmidt numbers (Sc) and dynamical viscosities were calculated individually for three types of natural gases. It is demonstrated that the chemical absorption method by MEA process is the most appropriate method at high Damko¨hler (Da) numbers particularly for natural gases containing high concentrations of CO2 and H2S. | Tansel Koyun Mehmet Kunduz Hakan F. | 2 | Heavy metal content in relation to particle size and organic content of surficial sediments in Miami River and transport potential显示文摘Transport of contaminants in Miami River(Florida,USA) sediments with river currents is a concern due to their potential impact in areas that are away from the potential sources.Accumulation profiles of five metals(As,Cd,Hg,Zn,Pb) in the surficial sediments of the Miami River were evaluated in relation to grain size(from less than 0.075 mm to 6.3 mm) and organic content.Surficial sediment samples were collected along the river basin as well as in bay waters.Fine sediments(< 0.106 mm) contained more than 10 times the levels of Cd and Hg and more than 6 times the levels of arsenic in comparison to the sediments that are larger than 0.850 mm.Zn and Pb levels were more than 10 times in the fine sediments(< 0.106 mm) in comparison to those that were larger than 4.750 mm.Cd,Hg,and Zn levels had significant correlation with the total organic carbon content of the sediments.This indicates that Cd,Hg,and Zn in fine sediments have the potential to be metabolized in addition to potential to be mobilized with river currents.Analysis of the Gibbs settling velocities of particles showed that particles smaller than0.5 mm can be transported with the river currents.The levels of heavy metal in fine sediments(< 0.425 mm) along the river bed showed that fine particles had tendency to be mobilized and accumulate at locations where the rivers currents are low and carried out to the bay. | Berrin Tansel Syed Rafiuddin | 2016 | International Journal of Sediment Research2016，31，4： | 5 |
| 3 | Seroprevalence and genotyping of hepatitis B,hepatitis C and HIV among healthy population and Turkish soldiers in Northern Cyprus显示文摘AIM: To compare the prevalence of hepatitis viral markers among soldiers from Turkey, blood donors from Northern Cyprus, and soldiers from Northern Cyprus. METHODS: Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), anti- HCV and anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) seroprevalence, HBV DNA, HCV RNA and HCV genotyping among soldiers from Turkey (groupⅠ), civil blood donors from Northern Cyprus (group Ⅱ), and soldier candidates from Northern Cyprus (group Ⅲ) were studied and compared to one another. In total, 17 545 cases (13 546 males and 3999 females with a mean age of 34.5 ± 10.3 year, groupⅠ= 11 234, group Ⅱ = 5057, and group Ⅲ = 1254) were included into the study. RESULTS: Among all cases, HBsAg positivity rates were 2.46%, anti-HCV was 0.46% and anti-HIV was 0.00%. HBV DNA was 2.25%, HCV RNA was 0.33% in all groups. HBsAg positivity rates were 2.16% in groupⅠ, 3.00% in group Ⅱ and 2.71% in group Ⅲ. There was a significant difference between groupⅠand group Ⅱ (χ2 = 6.11, P = 0.047 < 0.05). Anti-HCV positivity rates were 0.45% in groupⅠ, 0.45% in group Ⅱ, and 0.56% in group Ⅲ. Genotypes of HCV were 1b and 1a in groupⅠ, 1b, 1a and 2 in group Ⅱ, and 1b, 1a in group Ⅲ. HBsAg carrier rates were 2.20% in females and 2.53% in males. Anti- HCV prevalence was 0.38% in females and 0.48% in males. HBsAg positivity rates were 2.53% in individuals younger than 50, and 1.47% in older than 50. There was a significant difference between the two groups (χ2 =23.48, P = 0.001).
