The polymer exhibits unique aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics and can self-assemble to size-tunable particles in DMF/water mixtures. 3Marginal Land-based Biomass Energy Production in China显示文摘Fast economic development in China has resulted in a significant increase in energy demand. Coal accounts for 70% of China's primary energy consumption and its combustion has caused many environmental and health problems. Energy security and environmental protection requirements are the main drivers for renewable energy development in China. Small farmland and food security make bioenergy derived from corn or sugarcane unacceptable to China: the focus should be on generating bioenergy from lignocellulosic feedstock sources. As China cannot afford biomass energy production from its croplands, marginal lands may play an important role in biomass energy production. Although on a small scale, marginal land has already been used for various purposes. It is estimated that some 45 million hm2 of marginal land could be brought into high potential biomass energy production. For the success of such an initiative, it will likely be necessary to develop multipurpose plants. A case study, carried out on marginal land in Ningnan County, Sichuan Province with per capita cropland of 0.07 ha, indicated that some 380 000 tons of dry biomass could be produced each year from annual pruning of mulberry trees. 4Preparation of Pt/C Catalyst with Solid Phase Reaction Method显示文摘The Pt/C catalyst was prepared with solid phase reaction method (Pt/C(S)) for the first time. Its performances were compared with that prepared by the traditional liquid phase reaction method. The results demonstrate that the electrocatalytic activity of Pt/C catalyst with solid phase reaction method for methanol oxidation is higher than that with liquid phase reaction method. 5Boosting electrocatalytic water splitting via metal-metalloid combined modulation in quaternary Ni-Fe-P-B amorphous compound显示文摘Design and synthesis of highly efficient and cost-effective bifunctional catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)remain a big challenge.Herein,a quaternary amorphous nanocompound Ni-Fe-P-B has been synthesized by a facile,scalable co-reduction method.The Ni-Fe-P-B exhibits high electrocatalytic activity and outstanding durability for both HER and OER,delivering a current density of 10 mA·cm^-2 at overpotentials of 220 and 269 mV,respectively.When loaded on carbon fiber paper(CFP)as a bifunctional catalyst,the Ni-Fe-P-B@CFP electrode requires a low cell voltage of 1.58 V to obtain 10 mA·cm^-2 for overall water splitting with negligible recession over 60 h.The excellent catalytic performances of Ni-Fe-P-B mainly benefit from the metal-metalloid combined composition modulation and the unique amorphous structure.This work provides new insights into the design of robust bifunctional catalysts for water splitting,and may promote the development of multicomponent amorphous catalysts.Wukui Tang Xiaofang Liu Ya Li Yanhui Pu Yao Lu Zhiming Song Qiang Wang Ronghai Yu Jianglan Shui 2020Nano Research2020,13,2:8
6Structure of the Upper Mantle and Transition Zone Beneath the South China Block Imaged by Finite Frequency Tomography显示文摘We applied the finite frequency tomography method to S wave data recorded by 350 broadband stations beneath the South China Block(SCB) and its surroundings from earthquakes occurring between July 2007 and July 2010,to better understand upper mantle deformation.Differential travel-times in the pair of stations with appropriate weighting for each station are used in the inversion.Our results are consistent with previous tomography that show a high velocity anomaly beneath the Sichuan basin and a high velocity anomaly in the transition zone beneath the Yangtze Craton.However,the resolution of mantle heterogeneity provides new insight into the tectonic framework of subduction of Burmese lithosphere in the west part of the study region and subduction of oceanic lithosphere in the east.In the subduction realm,west of 107°E,a significant fast S-wave anomaly is located on the southeast of Sichuan Basin.East of 107°E,and two narrow and discontinuous fast S-wave anomalies occur at a depth of 400-600 km beneath the middle of the South China block overlain by the pronounced low S-wave anomalies at a depth of 100 and 400 km.If the fast anomalies located in the mantle transition zone represent stagnant slabs,their fragmented nature may suggest that they could be produced by different episodes of subduction beneath western Pacific island and the above slow velocity anomaly may associated with the back-arc regions of ongoing subduction.In addition,tomography also reveals an anomalously high S-wave velocity continental root extends eastward to a depth 400 km beneath the eastern Sichuan Basin.This anomaly may be related to eastern extrusion of Indian lithosphere associated with the collision of India and Eurasia.Moreover,our results also show large slow anomalies beneath the Red River fault region connected to deeper anomalies beneath the South China Fold Belt and South China Sea.AH these observations are consistent with the scenario that the South China block has been built by both of subduction of Paleopacific plate and eastward subduction of Burma microplate.SUN Ya LIU Jianxin TANG Youcai CHEN Jiawei ZHOU Keping CHEN Bo 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,5:8

8Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 9Nitrogen Mineralization of Prunings of Six N_2-Fixing Hedgerow Species in a Dry Valley of the Jinsha River显示文摘A litterbag experiment of 12 weeks was conducted to study nitrogen mineralization process of prunings of six nitrogen-fixing hedgerow species in a dry valley of the Jinsha River. Prunings were incorporated into soil or used as mulch. The results indicated that pruning N of the six hedgerow species was mineralized fast in the first week and then decreased slowly in the rest of the study period. When prunings were incorporated into soil, the amount of nitrogen mineralized by the end of the first week accounted for 69.9%, 58.2%, 54.5%, 43.0%, 29.6% and 20.6% of the total N in prunings of Desmodium rensonii, Tephrosia Candida, Leucaena leucocephala, Albizia yunnanensis, Acacia dealbata, and Acacia mearnsii, respectively. When prunings of L. leucocephala were used as mulch materials, the amount of nitrogen mineralized in the first week was 16.2% less than that of prunings incorporated into soil. The mineralization pattern of pruning N could be simulated by an exponent model Nt% = N01% (1 ?exp(梜1t))+ No2% (1 ?exp(梜2t) where Nt% is cumulative mineralized N in time t, N01 % and No2 % are readily and less readily mineralizable N in prunings, respectively, and k1 and k2 are rate constants. A half-life period of pruning nitrogen mineralization could also be determined by this model. The nitrogen content in the pruning residues decreased quickly in the first week but fluctuated thereafter. 10Antibacterial ability and cytocompatibility of Cu-incorporated Ni–Ti–O nanopores on NiTi alloy显示文摘Nearly equiatomic nickel–titanium(NiTi) alloy is an ideal implant biomaterial because of its shape memory effect, superelasticity, low elastic modulus as well as other desirable properties.However, it is prone to infection because of its poor antibacterial ability.The present work incorporated Cu into Ni–Ti–O nanopores(NP–Cu) anodically grown on the NiTi alloy to enhance its antibacterial ability, which was realized through electrodeposition.Our results show that incorporation of Cu(0.78 at%–2.37 at%)has little influence on the NP diameter, length and morphology.The release level of Cu ions is in line with loadage which may be responsible for the improved antibacterial ability of the NiTi alloy to combat possible bacterial infection in vivo.Meanwhile, the NP–Cu shows better cytocompatibility and even can promote proliferation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),up-regulate collagen secretion and extracellular matrix mineralization when compared with Cu-free sample.Better antibacterial ability and cytocompatibility of the NP–Cu render them to be promising when serving as NiTi implant coatings.Jia-Ming Zhang Yong-Hua Sun Ya Zhao Yan-Lian Liu Xiao-Hong Yao Bin Tang Rui-Qiang Hang 2019Rare Metals2019,38,6:7

13Robustness and breakup of the spiral wave in a two-dimensional lattice network of neurons显示文摘The robustness and breakup of spiral wave in a two-dimensional lattice networks of neurons are investigated. The effect of small- world type connection is often simplified with local regular connection and the long-range connection with certain probability. The network effect on the development of spiral wave can be better described by local regular connection and changeable long-range connection probability than fixed long-range connection probability because the long-range probability could be changeable in realistic biological system. The effect from the changeable probability for long-range connection is simplified by multiplicative noise. At first, a stable rotating spiral wave is developed by using appropriate initial values, parameters and no-flux boundary conditions, and then the effect of networks is investigated. Extensive numerical studies show that spiral wave keeps its alive and robust when the intensity of multiplicative noise is below a certain threshold, otherwise, the breakup of spiral wave occurs. A statistical factor of synchronization in two-dimensional array is defined to study the phase transition of spiral wave by checking the membrane potentials of all neurons corresponding to the critical parameters(the intensity of noise or forcing current)in the curve for factor of synchronization. The Hindmarsh-Rose model is investigated, the Hodgkin-Huxley neuron model in the presence of the channel noise is also studied to check the model independence of our conclusions. 14Effect of platinum on the photocatalytic degradation of chlorinated organic compound显示文摘TiO 2 nanoparticles, doped with different Pt contents, were prepared by a modified photodeposition method using Degussa P-25 TiO 2 , H 2 PtCl 6 ·6H 2 O and methanol as the solvents. The physicochemical properties of Pt/TiO 2 were investigated by the nitrogen adsorption and desorption isotherm measurement technique, X-ray diffraction analysis and photoluminescence spectra, respectively. Reaction rates from photocatalytic removal of dichloromethane over Degussa P-25 TiO 2 and Pt/TiO 2 were evaluated. The average diameter and BET surface area of the TiO 2 catalyst particles were 300 nm and 50 m 2 /g, respectively. The degradation efficiency was 99.0%, 82.7%, 55.2%, and 57.9% with TiO 2 at inlet concentrations of 50, 100, 200, and 300 ppm, respectively. And the degradation efficiency was 99.3%, 79.7%, 76.5%, and 73.4% with a 0.005 wt.% Pt/TiO 2 at inlet concentrations of 50, 100, 200, and 300 ppm, respectively. In addition, we found that the photoluminescence emission peak intensities decreased with increases in the doping amount of Pt, which indicates that the irradiative recombination was weakened. 17Cells in G_2/M phase increased in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line by EBV-LMP1 through activation of NF-кB and AP-1显示文摘Although previous studies showed that the principal oncoprotein encoded by Epstein-Barr virus, latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1), could induce the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells in G2/M phase increased, littleis known about the target molecules and mechanisms. The present study demonstrated that LMP1 couldinduce the accumulation of p53 protein and upregulate its transactivity in a dose dependent manner, whichresulted in the decrease of the kinase activity of cdc2/cyclin B complex and inducing arrest at G2/M phasethrough the activation of NF-kB and AP-1 signaling pathways, and the effect of NF-kB was more obviousthan that of AP-1. By utilizing the stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions (δ13C and (δ18O) of secondary nodules in Ustic Vertisols, this study looked into the climatic and environmental changes in the dry valleys of the Yuanmou Basin, Yunnan Province, in southwestern China. The results showed that during the early Holocene, a warm-humid or hot-humid climate existed in the Yuanmou Basin, but since then fluctuations in climate have occurred, with a dry climate prevailing. A highly significant correlation (r = 0.92, n = 9) between δ13C and δ18O values of carbonates illustrated that there had been a continual shifting between cold-humid and warm-dry climates in southwestern China including the Yuanmou Basin since the early Holocene.HUANG Cheng-Min WANG Cheng-Shan TANG Ya 2005Pedosphere2005,15,4:4
