| 1 | Identification, occurrence, and validation of DRE and ABRE Cis-regulatory motifs in the promoter regions of genes of Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Plants posses a complex co-regulatory network Researchwhich helps them to elicit a response under diverse adverse conditions. We used an in silico approach to identify the genes with both DRE and ABRE motifs in their promoter regions in Arabidopsis thaliana. Our results showed that Arabidopsis contains a set of 2,052 genes with ABRE and DRE motifs in their promoter regions.Approximately 72%or more of the total predicted 2,052 genes had a gap distance of less than 400 bp between DRE and ABRE motifs. For positional orientation of the DRE and ABRE motifs,we found that the DR form(one in direct and the other one in reverse orientation)was more prevalent than other forms. These predicted 2,052 genes include 155 transcription factors.Using microarray data from The Arabidopsis Information Resource(TAIR)database,we present 44 transcription factors out of 155 which are upregulated by more than twofold in response to osmotic stress and ABA treatment.Fifty-one transcripts from the onepredicted above were validated using semiquantitative expression analysis to support the microarray data in TAIR.Taken together,we report a set of genes containing both DRE and ABRE motifs in their promoter regions in A.thaliana, which can be useful to understand the role of ABA under osmotic stress condition. | Sonal Mishra Aparna Shukla Swati Upadhyay Sanchita Pooja Sharma Seema Singh Ujjal J.Phukan Abha Meena Feroz Khan Vineeta Tripathi Rakesh Kumar Shukla Ashok Shrama | 2014 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2014,56,4: | 5 |
| 2 | Giant exophytic renal angiomyolipoma masquerading as a retroperitoneal liposarcoma: A case report and review of literature显示文摘A 42-years-old lady, presented with a large retroperitoneal mass which was preoperatively diagnosed as a retroperitoneal liposarcoma following an image guided core biopsy. She underwent a margin-negative resection of the retroperitoneal mass(multi visceral resection-enbloc excision of the retroperitoneal mass with a left nephrectomy and a segmental descending colectomy). The final histopathological examination of the resected specimen confirmed an exophytic renal angiomyolipoma(AML) which was extending into the retroperitoneum. AML is a rare benign tumor arising most commonly from the kidney. It can sometimes present as a diagnostic challenge as it mimics a retroperitoneal liposarcoma or a fat-containing renal cell carcinomas closely. We present this case to share our experience of managing a case of giant exophytic AML which resembled retroperitoneal liposarcoma closely and resulted into an aggressive surgery. | Gopal Sharma Ayush Jain Prerit Sharma Sonal Sharma Vinita Rathi Pankaj Kumar Garg | 2018 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2018,9,7: | 2 |

| 8 | Internal transcribed spacer guided multiplex PCR for species identification of Convolvulus prostratus and Evolvulus alsinoides显示文摘Shankhpushpi is a reputed drug from an Indian system of medicine for treating mental disorders and enhancing memory. Two herbs, namely Convolvulus prostratus Forssk. and Evolvulus alsinoides(L.) L., are commonly known as Shankhpushpi. Ambiguous vernacular identity can affect the scientific validity of the Shankpushpi-based herbal drug therapy. In the present investigation, a novel and sensitive multiplex PCR method based on polymorphism in the internal transcribed spacer(ITS) region was developed to establish the molecular identity of C. prostratus and E. alsinoides. DNA was isolated and the ITS region was amplified, sequenced and assembled. Sequences were aligned to identify variable nucleotides in order to develop plant-specific primers. Primers were validated in singleplex reactions and eventually a multiplex assay was developed. This assay was tested for sensitivity and validated by amplifying DNA isolated from the simulated blended powdered plant material. Primers developed for C. prostratus resulted into a 200 bp amplicon and 596 bp for E. alsinoides. The assay was found to be sensitive enough for amplification of low quantities of DNA. The method can detect 10% of the mixing of plants with each other in blended material. This PCR assay can be used for rapid botanical identification of Shankhpushpi plant materials and will improve evidence-based herbal drug therapy. | Sonal Sharma Neeta Shrivastava | 2016 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2016,6,3: | 0 |
