| 2 | HLA class Ⅱ alleles and risk for peripheral neuropathy in type 2 diabetes patients显示文摘The potential impact of human leukocyte antigen(HLA) genotype variations on development of diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN) is not well determined.This study aimed to identify the association of HLA class II alleles with DPN in type 2 diabetes(T2D) patients.Totally 106 T2 D patients,49 with DPN and 57 without DPN,and 100 ethnic-matched healthy controls were analyzed.Both groups of the patients were matched based on sex,age,body mass index(BMI) and duration of T2 D.Polyneuropathy was diagnosed using electrodiagnostic methods.HLA-DRB1 and DQB1 genotyping was performed in all subjects by the polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers(PCR-SSP) method.T2 D patients with DPN showed higher frequencies of HLA-DRB1*10 and DRB1*12 alleles compared to control group(P = 0.04).HLA-DQB1*O2 allele and HLA-DRB1*O7-DQB1*O2 haplotype were associated with a decreased risk for developing DPN in T2 D patients(P = 0.02 and P = 0.05 respectively).Also,patients with severe neuropathy showed higher frequencies of DRB1*O7(P = 0.003) and DQB1*O2(P = 0.02) alleles than those with mild-to-moderate form of neuropathy.The distribution of DRB1 and DQB1 alleles and haplotypes were not statistically different between all patients and healthy controls.Our findings implicate a possible protective role of HLA-DQB1*O2 allele and HLA-DRB1*O7-DQB1*O2 haplotype against development of peripheral neuropathy in T2 D patients.Therefore,variations in HLA genotypes might be used as genetic markers for prediction and potentially management of neuropathy in T2 D patients. | Ahmad Marzban Javad Kiani Mehrdad Hajilooi Hamzeh Rezaei Zohreh Kahramfar Ghasem Solgi | 2016 | Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,11: | 2 |

| 9 | Soil physical properties degrade further on skid trails in the year following operations显示文摘Short-term recovery of soil physical properties on skid trails was investigated upon cessation of skidding operations and 1 year later. Bulk density and porosity were assessed at three levels of traffic intensity and two slope gradients. Compared to undisturbed areas, bulk density increased, total porosity and macroporosity decreased, and microporosity increased in the compacted areas immediately after skidding. In all cases, changes were significantly greater when traffic intensity was higher and when slopes were steeper. Surface soil compaction did not show any recovery over the 1-year period, illustrating the persistent effects of compaction on soil structure. In fact, surficial compaction further increased and macroporosity further decreased after 1 year of recovery, compared to immediately after skidding. While these changes may reflect inherent small-scale site variability or differences in soil moisture content at times of sampling, direct negative physical impacts on newly exposed soil(such as by raindrops), in addition to the loss of organic matter after canopy removal and skidding, likely delayed any physical recovery, particularly on heavily trafficked trails on steeper slopes. | 13 | Combined effects of soil texture and machine operating trail gradient on changes in forest soil physical properties during ground-based skidding显示文摘Wood extraction by heavy machinery has always been associated with soil disturbance in mountain forests,and the degree of soil degradation is influenced by several factors,including site and soil characteristics,soil moisture,type of equipment used,and number of machine passes.The effects of ground-based skidding operations on the physical properties of soils with different texture were evaluated at different levels of traffic frequency and trail gradient at two sites in an Iranian temperate forest.The treatments included combinations of three different traffic frequencies(3,8,and 14 passes of a rubber-tired cable skidder),three levels of trail gradient(<10%,10%–20%,and>20%) and two soil texture classes,clay loam(Site 1) and sandy loam(Site 2).The average gravimetric soil moisture at the time of skidding was 23%(Site 1) and 20%(Site 2).The average dry bulk density and total porosity of the undisturbed soil(control) were0.71 g cm-3 and 73.3% at Site 1(clay loam) and 0.86 g cm-3and 59.1% at Site 2(sandy loam),respectively.At site 1(fine-textured soil),rutting began after three passes of the skidder,whereas at site 2(coarse-textured soil),rutting occurred only after eight passes.Independent of the traffic frequency and trail gradient,machine impact on the fine-textured soil caused greater increases in bulk density and rut depth compared to that on the coarse-textured soil.After three skidder passes and independent from trail gradients,dry bulk density at Site 1 increased by 54.8% compared to that of the undisturbed control,and the increase was 45.5% at Site 2.Therefore,medium to fine-textured soils are more susceptible to compaction than coarse-textured soils.Such soils,especially when moist,should be protected using brush mats created from harvesting residues during the forest processing phase. | Ramin NAGHDI Ahmad SOLGI Eric R.LABELLE Mehrdad NIKOOY | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,4: | 1 |

This technique is utilized to relax the monotonic requirement of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem. In this regard, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is allowed to increase in a few steps, while being forced to be overall decreasing. As a result, it relays on a larger class of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals to provide stability of a state-delay system. To this end, using the non-monotonic Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem, new sufficient conditions are derived regarding linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)to study the global asymptotic stability of state-delay systems.Moreover, new stabilization conditions are also proposed for time-delay systems in this article.
