| 1 | Engineering rock mechanics practices in the underground powerhouse at JinpingⅠhydropower station显示文摘Based on the analyses of data obtained from the underground powerhouse at Jinping Ⅰ hydropower station,a comprehensive review of engineering rock mechanics practice in the underground powerhouse is first conducted.The distribution of strata,lithology,and initial geo-stress,the excavation process and corresponding rock mass support measures,the deformation and failure characteristics of the surrounding rock mass,the stress characteristics of anchorage structures in the cavern complex,and numerical simulations of surrounding rock mass stability and anchor support performance are presented.The results indicate that the underground powerhouse of Jinping Ⅰ hydropower station is characterized by high to extremely high geo-stresses during rock excavation.Excessive surrounding rock mass deformation and high stress of anchorage structures,surrounding rock mass unloading damage,and local cracking failure of surrounding rock masses,etc.,are mainly caused by rock mass excavation.Deformations of surrounding rock masses and stresses in anchorage structures here are larger than those found elsewhere:20%of extensometers in the main powerhouse record more than 50 mm with the maximum at around 250 mm observed in the downstream sidewall of the transformer hall.There are about 25%of the anchor bolts having recorded stresses of more than 200 MPa.Jinping Ⅰ hydropower plant is the first to have an underground powerhouse construction conducted in host rocks under extremely high geo-stress conditions,with the ratio of rock mass strength to geo-stress of less than 2.0.The results can provide a reference to underground powerhouse construction in similar geological conditions. | Aiqing Wu Jimin Wang Zhong Zhou Shuling Huang Xiuli Ding Zhihong Dong Yuting Zhang | 2016 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,5: | 4 |

| 5 | Multi-scales Analysis of Driving Forces on Land Use/Cover Change in China:Taking Farmland Returning to Forest or Grassland as a Case显示文摘Increasing populations are causing an increase in food demands, and the area of cultivated land expands every year. Inappropriate land transition from ecology to production results in the constant decline of the ecological security level and influences the regional sustainable development. Adjusting unreasonable land use mode and reconstructing natural land cover are important ways to maintain and improve the ecological environment. Also reclaiming farmland as areas for forests and grasslands (FRFG) is another way. Successful implementation of FRFG in China is the result of comprehensive effect of the multi-scales driving forces. This paper analyses the driving forces of FRFG in China on a national (country) –regional (province) – local (county) – household (farmer) level scale, and the results are: driving forces at the national scale include ecological and food security and the western development of China; at the regional scale, ecological and economic benefits become the main factors to influence the dimension of FRFG under the same policy. The driving forces can be divided into 6 types: industrial structure adjustment, water source protection, flood prevention, the Three-Gorge Project protection, reduction of the amount of sediment flowing into the Yellow River and wind erosion desertification prevention. | 10 | Hardening-Softening Constitutive Model of Hard Brittle Rocks Considering Dilatant Effects and Safety Evaluation Index显示文摘The damage and even failure of hard brittle rocks has been the most important challenge facing the safety of construction of deep engineering works,so the key to solving this problem is the recognition of the strength characteristics and description of the mechanical behavior of hard brittle rocks.Therefore,in view of this problem,in this study,we first analyzed the strength and mechanical response characteristics revealed in tests of,and site excavation in,hard brittle rocks.Second,by analyzing rock-strength envelopes on meridional and deviatoric planes,the generalized polyaxial strain energy(GPSE)strength criterion was applied.This allows description of the effects of the minimum principal stress,intermediate principal stress,hydrostatic pressure,and Lode’s angle of stress on the strength of hard rocks.By establishing evolutionary relationships of strength parameters and dilation parameters with plastic volumetric strain in rock failure,we established an elasto-plastic mechanical constitutive model for hard brittle rocks based on the GPSE criterion.In addition,through use of the failure approach index theory and the dilatancy safety factor,an evaluation index for degree of damage considering dilatant effects of rocks was proposed.Finally,the constitutive model established in this study and the proposed evaluation index were integrated into the numerical simulation method to simulate triaxial tests on rocks and numerical simulation of deformation and fracture of the rocks surrounding the deep-buried auxiliary tunnels in China’s Jinping II Hydropower Station.In this way,the reasonableness of the model and the index was verified.The strength theory and the constitutive model established in this research are applicable to the analysis of high-stress deformation and fracture of hard brittle rock masses,which supports the theoretical work related to deep engineering operations. | Shuling Huang Chuanqing Zhang Xiuli Ding | 2020 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2020,33,1: | 1 |
| 11 | Importance of quality control in lipidomics profiling based on mass spectrometry显示文摘As a current analytical instrument for lipidomics profiling with high sensitivity, selectivity, and throughput, mass spectrometry (MS) has been widely used in the field of clinical medicine, nutrition, bromatology, botany and etc. During the routine use of shotgun- MS and high performance liquid chromatography-MS (HPLC-MS) in lipid analysis, an important problem to be solved is the defective repeatability and stability resulting from signal attenuation or drifts in LC-peak shape and retention time of MS platform. To remove or minimize the influence, extensively accepted and applied QC (quality control) samples must be performed. In this review, we emphasize the importance of the application of QC samples, which could 1) provide the ability to equilibrate the analytical platform at the beginning; 2) act as a quality assurance (QA) procedure during the analytical process; 3) perform signal correction in the data handling with the purpose of reducing analytical variation and improving the precision of quantitative analysis; 4) the data between different laboratories can be compared through the incorporation of particular QC samples-Standard Reference Material (SRM) 1950. In addition, we display 4 types and requirements of QC samples during quality control in lipidomics profiling. | 14 | Intratumoral CD103+CD8+T cells predict response to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy in advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Background Immune cell heterogenicity is known to determine the therapeutic response to cancer progression.Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy(NACI)has shown clinical benefits in some patients with advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC),but the underlying mechanism behind this clinical response is unknown.The efficacy of NACI needs to be potentiated by identifying accurate biomarkers to predict clinical responses.Here,we attempted to identify molecules predicting NACI response in advanced HNSCC.Methods We performed combined single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)and multiplex immunofluorescence(mIHC)staining with tumor samples derived from NACI-treated HNSCC patients to identify a new tumor-infiltrating cell(TIL)subtype,CD103+CD8+TILs,associated with clinical response,while both in vitro and in vivo assays were carried out to determine its antitumor efficiency.The regulatory mechanism of the CD103+CD8+TILs population was examined by performing cell-cell interaction analysis of the scRNA-seq data and spatial analysis of the mIHC images.Results We established intratumoral CD103+CD8+TILs density as a determinant of NACI efficacy in cancers.Our scRNA-seq results indicated that the population of CD103+CD8+TILs was dramatically increased in the responders of NACI-treated HNSCC patients,while mIHC analysis confirmed the correlation between intratumoral CD103+CD8+TILs density and NACI efficacy in HNSCC patients.Further receiver operating characteristic curve analysis defined this TIL subset as a potent marker to predict patient response to NACI.Functional assays showed that CD103+CD8+TILs were tumor-reactive T cells,while programmed cell death protein-1(PD-1)blockade enhanced CD103+CD8+TILs cytotoxicity against tumor growth in vivo.Mechanistically,targeting the triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2-positive(TREM2+)macrophages might enhance the population of CD103+CD8+TILs and facilitate antitumor immunity during NACI treatment.Conclusions Our study highlights the impact of intratumoral CD103+CD8+TILs density on NACI efficacy in different cancers,while the efforts to elevate its population warrant further clinical investigation. | Siqi Ren Tianjun Lan Fan Wu Suling Chen Xue Jiang Chuying Huo Zitian Li Shule Xie Donghui Wu Ruixin Wang Yanyan Li Lin Qiu Guoxin Huang Shurui Li Xiaojuan Wang Meifeng Cen Tingting Cai Zhaoyu Lin Jinsong Li Bowen Li | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,10: | 0 |
| 15 | Effect of aerobic exercise on GRP78 and ATF6 expressions in mice with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a prevalent medical condition with an ever-growing trend.Although multiple intracellular mechanisms are involved,endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress has been demonstrated to play a significant role in the genesis and progression.Most of the research supports the advantages of exercise for NAFLD.However,little is known about the molecular mechanism(s)that underpin the effectiveness of exercise training in NAFLD.This study aimed to identify how aerobic exercise affected hepatic ER stress in a mouse NAFLD model.In this study,the mice were fed either a standard diet(SD)or a high-fat diet(HFD)for 17 weeks.HFD mice were trained on a treadmill during the last eight weeks.All animals were tested for serum levels of biochemical assays,protein expression,and gene expression.The hematoxylin and eosin,Oil red O,and immunohistochemistry staining were also performed.The results indicated that a high-fat diet generated NAFLD,with serum lipid disruption and hepatic function impairment,and increased GRP78 and ATF6 expressions.However,aerobic training reversed the majority of these alterations.It is concluded that NAFLD appears to be associated with hepatic ER stress response,and aerobic exercise mitigates NAFLD via lowering ER stress proteins GRP78 and ATF6. | Junhan Li Lei Huang Wei Xiong Chun Gu Shuling Zhang Xiali Xue | 2023 | Sports Medicine and Health Science2023,5,2: | 0 |
| 16 | A critical review of wheel/rail high frequency vibration-induced vibration fatigue of railway bogie in China显示文摘Purpose–This review aims to give a critical view of the wheel/rail high frequency vibration-induced vibration fatigue in railway bogie.Design/methodology/approach–Vibration fatigue of railway bogie arising from the wheel/rail high frequency vibration has become the main concern of railway operators.Previous reviews usually focused on the formation mechanism of wheel/rail high frequency vibration.This paper thus gives a critical review of the vibration fatigue of railway bogie owing to the short-pitch irregularities-induced high frequency vibration,including a brief introduction of short-pitch irregularities,associated high frequency vibration in railway bogie,typical vibration fatigue failure cases of railway bogie and methodologies used for the assessment of vibration fatigue and research gaps.Findings–The results showed that the resulting excitation frequencies of short-pitch irregularity vary substantially due to different track types and formation mechanisms.The axle box-mounted components are much more vulnerable to vibration fatigue compared with other components.The wheel polygonal wear and rail corrugation-induced high frequency vibration is the main driving force of fatigue failure,and the fatigue crack usually initiates from the defect of the weld seam.Vibration spectrum for attachments of railway bogie defined in the standard underestimates the vibration level arising from the short-pitch irregularities.The current investigations on vibration fatigue mainly focus on the methods to improve the accuracy of fatigue damage assessment,and a systematical design method for vibration fatigue remains a huge gap to improve the survival probability when the rail vehicle is subjected to vibration fatigue.Originality/value–The research can facilitate the development of a new methodology to improve the fatigue life of railway vehicles when subjected to wheel/rail high frequency vibration. | Xingwen Wu Zhenxian Zhang Wubin Cai Ningrui Yang Xuesong Jin Ping Wang Zefeng Wen Maoru Chi Shuling Liang Yunhua Huang | 2024 | Railway Sciences2024,3,2: | 0 |
| 17 | Investigation of anisotropic strength criteria for layered rock mass显示文摘Layered rock mass is a type of engineering rock mass with sound mechanical anisotropy,which is generally unfavorable to the stability of underground works.To investigate the strength anisotropy of layered rock,the Mohr-Coulomb and Hoek-Brown criteria are introduced to establish the two transverse isotropic strength criteria based on Jaeger's single weak plane theory and maximum axial strain theory,and parameter determination methods.Furthermore,the sensitivity of strength parameters(K 1,K 2,and K 3)that are used to characterize the anisotropy strength of non-sliding failure involved in the strength criteria and confining pressure are investigated.The results demonstrate that strength parameters K 1 and K 2 affect the strength of layered rock samples at all bedding angles except for the bedding angle of 90°and the angle range that can cause the shear sliding failure along the bedding plane.The strength of samples at any bedding angle decreases with increasing K 1,whereas the opposite is for K 2.Except for bedding angles of 0°and 90°and the bedding angle range that can cause the shear sliding along the bedding plane,K 3 has an impact on the strength of rock samples with other bedding angles that the specimens'strength increases with increase of K 3.In addition,the strength of the rock sample increases as confining pressure rises.Furthermore,the uniaxial and triaxial tests of chlorite schist samples were carried out to verify and evaluate the strength criteria proposed in the paper.It shows that the predicted strength is in good agreement with the experimental results.To test the applicability of the strength criterion,the strength data of several types of rock in the literature are compared.Finally,a comparison is made between the fitting effects of the two strength criteria and other available criteria for layered rocks. | Shuling Huang Jinxin Zhang Xiuli Ding Chuanqing Zhang Gang Han Guoqi Yu Lulu Qu | 2024 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2024,16,4: | 0 |
