2Effect of Thermal Treatment on the Properties of TEMPO Oxidized Cellulose Film for the Flexible Substrate of Solar Cell显示文摘The 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl(TEMPO)oxidized cellulose film(TOCF)has been attempted to be used as a substrate in electronic and optoelectronic devices,but the changes in the TOCF properties before and after annealing treatment have usually been neglected during device fabrication.In this study,TOCF was treated in different atmospheres(air,vacuum,and N2)and at different temperatures,and the properties were investigated.The results indicate that the optical properties are slightly affected by atmosphere and temperature;only slight transmittance loss and haze increase have been observed when TOCF is exposed to an air atmosphere at temperatures of above 120℃.In contrast to the slight effects on the optical properties,cellulose degradation and a loss of film strength have been observed regardless of the atmosphere used when placed at temperatures of above 100℃.Specifically,TOCF was exposed to air,followed by N2 and vacuum atmospheres.Additional Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)results showed that increasing the temperature had no significant effect on the structure of TOCF.Therefore,the annealing temperature should be controlled at a temperature of lower than 100℃and a vacuum atmosphere is preferred.Changmei Lin Hui Zhang Qidu Deng Liulian Huang Xiaojuan Ma Shilin Cao 2020Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,3:2

9Structural Characteristics of Cellulose and Xylan during in vitro Fermentation by Pig Fecal Bacteria显示文摘In this study,cellulose and xylan were in vitro fermented by pig fecal bacteria.Rapid fermentation(40 h) and extended fermentation(eight weeks)were performed.The properties and ultra-structure changes of post-fermented solid residues were studied.In the end effluent,acetic acid,propionic acid,and butyric acid were observed to be the principal short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs) produced by anaerobic fermentation.Xylan was more accessible to bacteria than cellulose,leading to higher SCFA and lactic acid production.In addition,the crystalline structure of cellulose changed,leading to 16.3% and42.1% increases in crystallinity index for rapid and extended fermentation,respectively.Through this research,a systematic and advanced method to study the degradation chemistry of cellulose and xylan during fermentation was developed.Ling Meng ShiLin Cao XiaoJuan Ma LiHui Chen LiuLian Huang Fang Huang 2016Paper And Biomaterials2016,1,2:0
10Laparoscopic vs open radical resection in management of gallbladder carcinoma:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Radical resection offers the only hope for the long-term survival of patients with gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)above the T1b stage.However,whether it should be performed under laparoscopy for GBC is still controversial.AIM To compare laparoscopic radical resection(LRR)with traditional open radical resection(ORR)in managing GBC.METHODS A comprehensive search of online databases,including Medline(PubMed),Cochrane Library,and Web of Science,was conducted to identify comparative studies involving LRR and ORR in GBCs till March 2023.A meta-analysis was subsequently performed.RESULTS A total of 18 retrospective studies were identified.In the long-term prognosis,the LRR group was comparable with the ORR group in terms of overall survival and tumor-free survival(TFS).LRR showed superiority in terms of TFS in the T2/tumor-node-metastasis(TNM)Ⅱstage subgroup vs the ORR group(P=0.04).In the short-term prognosis,the LRR group had superiority over the ORR group in the postoperative length of stay(POLS)(P<0.001).The sensitivity analysis showed that all pooled results were robust.CONCLUSION The meta-analysis results show that LRR is not inferior to ORR in all measured outcomes and is even superior in the TFS of patients with stage T2/TNMⅡdisease and POLS.Surgeons with sufficient laparoscopic experience can perform LRR as an alternative surgical strategy to ORR.Shilin He Tu-Nan Yu Jia-Sheng Cao Xue-Yin Zhou Zhe-Han Chen Wen-Bin Jiang Liu-Xin Cai Xiao Liang 2023World Journal of Clinical Cases2023,11,27:0
11Lignin extraction and recovery in hydrothermal pretreatment of bamboo显示文摘A significant amount of lignin and hemicellulose are dissolved in the hydrothermal treatment of biomass.The hemicellulose can be recovered and utilized for value-added products.The dissolved lignin can undergo depolymerization and condensation reactions,and interferes with the separation and purification process for hemicellulose recovery.This paper investigated the behavior of the lignin extracted from the hydrothermal pretreatment of bamboo and its contributions to the physical characteristics of the hydrolysate.It was found that the turbidity of the hydrolysate was strongly associated with the lignin fragments and suspended long chain hemicelluloses.As the lignin depolymerization and condensation reactions occurred simultaneously,the dissolved lignin fractions in the hydrolysate increased first and then decreased.The molecular weight(MW)of the dissolved lignin fragments ranged from 3342~5611 g/mol,with mainly guaiacyl(G)and syringyl(S)unit in the structure.Xin Zheng Xiaojuan Ma Lihui Chen Liulian Huang Shilin Cao Joseph Nasrallah 2016Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2016,1,3:0
12Spatial Pattern and Heterogeneity of Port & Shipping Service Enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta,2002–2016显示文摘Using the ‘theoretical hypothesis—empirical study—case verification' method, this paper studies the spatial distribution and differentiation of port & shipping service enterprises(PSSE), as well as the variation process and underlying mechanism in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD). First, through inductive and deductive reasoning, we propose the following hypothesis: the regional distribution of different types of PSSE would show different spatial agglomeration-decentralization tendency; and there would be distinct regional differentiation in the industrial structure of the enterprises. Second, based on data obtained from enterprises, empirical research is conducted using Gini coefficient and spatial interpolation simulation methods. Results show that: 1) The overall enterprise distribution is decentralized within a city. 2) Different types of enterprises show different spatial agglomeration-decentralization tendencies. At 3000 m×3000 m grid scale, there is an agglomeration tendency along seas and rivers in the spatial distribution of enterprises. Shanghai has been identified consistently as a hot spot. 3) There is significant regional differentiation in 12 port cities with respect to the industrial structures of enterprises. 13Reproductive Behaviors and Pairing Modes of Odontotermes fomosanus(Shiraki)Alates显示文摘[Objectives] To study the reproductive behaviors and the effect of different pairing modes on the developmental status of incipient colonies' of Odontotermes fomosanus( Shiraki). [Methods]We observed the reproductive behaviors of male alates,female alates and mated alates respectively. Male and female alates had 9 pairing modes and founded 170 incipient colonies under laboratory conditions. The effect of pairing mode on incipient colonies' developmental status was analyzed. [Results]Two peaking hours of mating activity within the daily circadian rhythm of alate activity appeared from 09: 00 to 10: 00,and from 21: 00 to 22: 00,respectively. Courtship behavior before mating consisted of touching with antennae,connecting into a ring( head-to-end),and licking. The reproductive behavior( calling,pairing,tandem,mating and oviposition) of nestmate pairs was different to that of non-nestmate pairs. The pairing time of non-nestmate pairs was significantly longer than that of alates paired with siblings( P < 0. 05). The non-swarming alates could mate with swarming or non-swarming alates and lay fertile eggs which hatched successfully. However,the survival rate of colonies founded by non-swarming alates was very low. The death rate of incipient colonies was in the range of 0. 61%- 0. 99% after three months,while the death rate of the colonies founded by swarming alates was in the range of 0. 22%- 0. 58%. Females that had been experimentally prevented from mating could lay eggs,but the eggs did not hatch. [Conclusion] There are two distinct hourly peaks of mating activity within each 24 hour period. 15The Metasequoia genome and evolutionary relationships among redwoods显示文摘Redwood trees(Sequoioideae),including Metasequoia glyptostroboides(dawn redwood),Sequoiadendron giganteum(giant sequoia),and Sequoia sempervirens(coast redwood),are threatened and widely recognized iconic tree species.Genomic resources for redwood trees could provide clues to their evolutionary relationships.Here,we report the 8-Gb reference genome of M.glyptostroboides and a comparative analysis with two related species.More than 62%of the M.glyptostroboides genome is composed of repetitive sequences.Clade-specific bursts of long terminal repeat retrotransposons may have contributed to genomic differentiation in the three species.The chromosomal synteny between M.glyptostroboides and S.giganteum is extremely high,whereas there has been significant chromosome reorganization in S.sempervirens.Phylogenetic analysis of marker genes indicates that S.sempervirens is an autopolyploid,and more than 48%of the gene trees are incongruent with the species tree.Results of multiple analyses suggest that incomplete lineage sorting(ILS)rather than hybridization explains the inconsistent phylogeny,indicating that genetic variation among redwoods may be due to random retention of polymorphisms in ancestral populations.Functional analysis of ortholog groups indicates that gene families of ion channels,tannin biosynthesis enzymes,and transcription factors for meristem maintenance have expanded in S.giganteum and S.sempervirens,which is consistent with their extreme height.As a wetland-tolerant species,M.glyptostroboides shows a transcriptional response to flooding stress that is conserved with that of analyzed angiosperm species.Our study offers insights into redwood evolution and adaptation and provides genomic resources to aid in their conservation and management.Fangfang Fu Chi Song Chengjin Wen Lulu Yang Ying Guo Xiaoming Yang Ziqiang Shu Xiaodong Li Yangfan Feng Bingshuang Liu Mingsheng Sun Yinxiao Zhong Li Chen Yan Niu Jie Chen Guibin Wang Tongming Yin Shilin Chen Liangjiao Xue Fuliang Cao 2023Plant Communications2023,4,6:0
