1Ultrafast epitaxial growth of metre-sized single-crystal graphene on industrial Cu foil显示文摘A foundation of the modern technology that uses single-crystal silicon has been the growth of highquality single-crystal Si ingots with diameters up to 12 inches or larger. For many applications of graphene, large-area high-quality(ideally of single-crystal) material will be enabling. Since the first growth on copper foil a decade ago, inch-sized single-crystal graphene has been achieved. We present here the growth, in 20 min, of a graphene film of(5 ×50) cm^2 dimension with >99% ultra-highly oriented grains.This growth was achieved by:(1) synthesis of metre-sized single-crystal Cu(1 1 1) foil as substrate;(2)epitaxial growth of graphene islands on the Cu(1 1 1) surface;(3) seamless merging of such graphene islands into a graphene film with high single crystallinity and(4) the ultrafast growth of graphene film.These achievements were realized by a temperature-gradient-driven annealing technique to produce single-crystal Cu(1 1 1) from industrial polycrystalline Cu foil and the marvellous effects of a continuous oxygen supply from an adjacent oxide. The as-synthesized graphene film, with very few misoriented grains(if any), has a mobility up to ~23,000 cm^2 V^(-1)s^(-1)at 4 K and room temperature sheet resistance of ~230 Ω/□. 2Antimicrobial activity of silver loaded MnO_2 nanomaterials with different crystal phases against Escherichia coli显示文摘Silver-loaded MnO_2 nanomaterials(Ag/MnO_2),including Ag/α-MnO_2,Ag/β-MnO_2,Ag/γ-MnO_2and Ag/δ-MnO_2 nanorods,were prepared with hydrothermal and impregnation methods.The bactericidal activities of four types of Ag/MnO_2 nanomaterials against Escherichia coli were investigated and an inactivation mechanism involving Ag^+ and reactive oxygen species(ROS)was also proposed.The bactericidal activities of Ag/MnO_2 depended on the MnO_2 crystal phase.Among these nanomaterials,Ag/β^-MnO_2 showed the highest bactericidal activity.There was a 6-log decrease in E.coli survival number after treatment with Ag/β^-MnO_2 for120 min.The results of 5,5-dimethyl-l-pyrroline-N-oxide spin-trapping measurements by electron spin resonance indicate OH and O_2^- formation with addition of Ag/β-MnO_2,Ag/γ-MnO_2 or Ag/δ-MnO_2.The strongest peak of OH appeared for Ag/β-MnO_2,while no OH or ·O_2^-signal was found over Ag/α-MnO_2.Through analysis of electron spin resonance(ESR) and Ag+elution results,it could be deduced that the toxicity of Ag^+ eluted from Ag/MnO_2 nanomaterials and ROS played the main roles during the bactericidal process.Silver showed the highest dispersion on the surface of β-MnO_2,which promoted ROS formation and the increase of bactericidal activity.Experimental results also indicated that Ag/MnO_2 induced the production of intracellular ROS and disruption of the cell wall and cell membrane.Lian Wang Hong He Changbin Zhang Li Sun Sijin Liu Shaoxin Wang 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:6

4Identification and optimization of traffic bottleneck with signal timing显示文摘In urban transportation network,traffic congestion is likely to occur at traffic bottlenecks.The signal timing at intersections together with static properties of left-turn and straight-through lanes of roads are two significant factors causing traffic bottlenecks. A discrete-time model of traffic bottleneck is hence developed to analyze these two factors,and a bottleneck indicator is introduced to estimate the comprehensive bottleneck degree of individual road in regional transportation networks universally,the identification approaches are presented to identify traffic bottlenecks,bottleneck-free roads,and bottleneck-prone roads. Based on above work,the optimization method applies ant colony algorithmwith effective green time as decision variables to find out an optimal coordinated signal timing plan for a regional network. In addition,a real experimental transportation network is chosen to verify the validation of bottleneck identification. 9Influence of morphological variations on the AC breakdown of XLPE insulation in submarine cable factory joints显示文摘Extruded crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE)submarine cables with factory joints play a significant role in cross-sea transmission interconnection projects.Morphological variations in the insulation of submarine cables and factory joints are caused by differences in process parameters.The dielectric properties of XLPE are affected by its morphology.In this study,samples of XLPE insulating materials were taken from the cable bulk,cable–joint transition,and factory joint,respectively,of a 500 kV high-voltage AC submarine cable.The crosslinked morphology was obtained by extraction and infrared spectrometer.The crystal morphology was obtained by the way of etchant,differential scanning calorimetry,and X-ray diffractometry.The Weibull distribution was used to gather statistics of AC breakdown strength.The results show that in comparison with the cable bulk,the contents of crosslinked byproducts are higher in the cable–joint transition and factory joint.At the same time,there is a sparse distribution in terms of crystal morphology,with the appearance of smaller grains and lower crystallinity,in the cable–joint transition and factory joint.These morphological variations would generate more heat during electron transport and lengthen the free paths of electrons,then lead to the occurrence of AC breakdown.The results might provide insights into the optimisation of the morphology of XLPE,in particular submarine cable factory joints.Zhenpeng Zhang Jiankang Zhao Wei Zhao Lisheng Zhong Liexiang HU Wenbin Rao Mei Zheng Shaoxin Meng 2020High Voltage2020,5,1:1
10Numerical Study on Surface Wettability Gradient Enhanced Ultra-Thin Loop Heat Pipe显示文摘Loop heat pipes(LHPs),as high-efficiency heat dissipation components,are considered to be superior thermal conductors beyond any known materials.To apply LHPs to mobile electronics,a small,thin and compact system needs to be designed.However,with the trend of miniaturization,the heat transfer performance of LHPs degrades rapidly due to the significant increase of working fluid backflow resistance.This work aims to propose an effective solution to this problem.In this work,the surface wettability gradient(SWG)is introduced into the ultra-thin LHP,and the influence of SWG on mass and heat transfer performance is studied comprehensively by using a transient three-dimensional numerical model.It is observed that the SWG can significantly increase the vapor-liquid circulation efficiency and improve heat transfer performance.Numerical experiments have been performed to compare the two kinds of LHPs with and without SWG.At the heat load of 4–6 W,the start-up time for LHP with SWG is shortened by 11.5%and the thermal resistance is reduced by about 44.3%,compared with the LHP without SWG.This work provides a solution for the performance-degradation problem caused by miniaturization,as a numerical reference for experiments.GAO Xintian CHEN Anqi ZHU Yuan LYU You GUO Wei ZHOU Shaoxin 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4:1
