| 1 | 基于SMA和ECC复合材料的功能自恢复剪力墙抗震性能试验研究显示文摘剪力墙作为高层建筑广泛采用的水平抗侧力构件,承担着结构绝大部分的水平地震作用。因此,剪力墙受力性能的优劣对整个建筑结构的抗震性能尤为重要。为提高剪力墙的变形能力,减小剪力墙的损伤和残余变形,实现震后的快速恢复,提出一种具有自复位功能的剪力墙。在该剪力墙塑性铰区采用形状记忆合金筋(Shape Memory Alloy,简称SMA)替代纵向钢筋,实现墙体的自复位功能;采用工程水泥基复合材料(Engineered Cementitious Composites,简称ECC)替代普通混凝土,解决混凝土的脆性剥落损伤。为检验新型剪力墙的抗震性能,设计制作4个剪力墙试件,分别为普通混凝土剪力墙、高延性ECC增强剪力墙、超弹性SMA增强剪力墙和SMA和ECC共同增强剪力墙,并进行低周往复荷载试验,对比分析剪力墙的破坏模式以及承载力、自复位能力、延性、耗能能力等抗震性能。研究结果表明:与普通钢筋混凝土剪力墙相比,SMA和ECC共同增强剪力墙不仅损伤小,实现功能的快速修复,而且自复位能力达到85%以上,构件复位效果显著;同时表现出较好的延性。 | 钱辉 康莉萍 郭院成 李宗翱 Shamim A Sheikh | 2020 | 土木工程学报2020,53,10: | 8 |
| 2 | Current Status of Conventional and Molecular Interventions for Blast Resistance in Rice显示文摘Pyricularia oryzae anamorph of Magnaporthe oryzae is one of the most notorious fungal pathogens causing severe economic loss in rice production worldwide. Various methods, viz. cultural, biological and molecular approaches, are utilized to counteract this pathogen. Moreover, some tolerant or resistant rice varieties have been developed with the help of breeding programmes. Isolation and molecular characterization of different blast resistance genes now open the gate for new possibilities to elucidate the actual allelic variants of these genes via various molecular breeding and transgenic approaches. However, the behavioral pattern of this fungus breakups the resistance barriers in the resistant or tolerant rice varieties. This host-pathogen barrier will be possibly countered in future research by comparative genomics data from available genome sequence data of rice and M. oryzae for durable resistance. Present review emphasized fascinating recent updates, new molecular breeding approaches, transgenic and genomics approaches(i.e. mi RNA and genome editing) for the management of blast disease in rice. | 3 | Synergistic Effects of Biochar and NPK Fertilizer on Soybean Yield in an Alkaline Soil显示文摘Biochar effects on legume growth and biological nitrogen fixation have been studied extensively, mostly in acidic soils with laboratory produced biochar. In the present study, a pot experiment in a full factorial experimental design was performed to examine soybean yield and nodulation of three genotypes grown with or without biochar and NPK fertilizers in an alkaline soil. We observed synergistic effects of biochar and NPK fertilizer applications on biomass and seed yields for all three soybean genotypes. Total biomass production and seed yield increased on average by 67% and 54%, respectively, with biochar and by 201% and 182% with NPK fertilizer application compared to the control. When applications of biochar and NPK fertilizer were combined, the increases were 391% and367%, respectively. However, the biomass production in the control was very low(692 kg ha-1) due to a high soil p H(8.80). The nodulation increased with biochar and NPK fertilizer applications, and was largest with the combined application. A correlation was found between leaf chlorophyll content(single photon avalanche diode value) and nodule number. | 5 | Screen printing of silver nanowires: balancing conductivity with transparency while maintaining flexibility and stretchability显示文摘Printing metal nanowires are particularly attractive as compared to conventional coating methods due to the ease of processing,direct patterning,and large-scale fabrication capability.However,it is still challenging to print metal nanowire patterns that simultaneously have high conductivity,high transparency,flexibility,and stretchability.Three steps have been taken in this work to balance the transparency and conductivity of the screen-printed flexible and stretchable silver nanowire films,(1)selection of the ink formulation,(2)optimization of the printing parameters,and(3)posttreatment with a laser.The as-obtained silver nanowire patterns are large-area and demonstrate an ultralow sheet resistance of 1.9 ohm/sq,high transmittance(73%)at the wavelength of 550 nm,and an ultrahigh figure of merit(~136)as compared to the printed silver nanowire electrodes in the literature.The screenprinted transparent patterns exhibit excellent electrical stability and mechanical repeatability when subjected to 1000 bending cycles with a bending radius of 28 mm and 1000 stretch-release cycles with 10%strain,which makes the transparent patterns suitable for the fabrication of flexible,transparent microwave absorbers.The absorption performance of the prepared frequency selective surface absorbers indicates no obvious degradation after various manipulating configurations and multiple bending and stretching cycles.The results are promising enough to make this ink and screen-printing process suitable for many applications of flexible,stretchable,and transparent electronics. | Weiwei Li Shuai Yang Atif Shamim | 2019 | npj Flexible Electronics2019,3,1: | 5 |
| 6 | Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra Subduction Margin Revisited:Insights of Arc-Specific Deformations显示文摘We address the role of the concave and convex arcs(as observed from the subducting plate)on the deformation occurring along the Myanmar-Andaman-Sumatra margin.We categorize the pre-and post-seismic deformations of the lithosphere using earthquake database occurring either prior to 26th December 2004 M_w 9.3 off-Sumatra mega-event or after the incidence.Analysis under pre-seismic domain shows that area near Sumatra records highest seismicity,which largely drops in the area past the North Andaman,and further increases towards north.Shallowest depth and minimum dip of the subducting lithosphere is recorded at the central segment where the arc transformed into concave shape.The annual moment energy release during earthquake decreases to more than two orders of magnitude past the North Andaman towards north under post-seismic deformation phase.Higher depths of continuity of events are presumably associated with more dipping Benioff zones in both the Indo-Myanmar and Andaman-Nicobar convex arcs.These observations obviously account for tectonic subdivision of the margin near concave shape arc around the central part.Absence of volcanism,presence of splay faults in the back-arc,sharp reduction in seismicity near central segment are interpreted to be caused by major tectonic impact of the NNE-ward converging buoyant Ninety-east Ridge against the Asian Plate.Shallowest dip,small elastic thickness,weak converging Indian lithosphere,and evidences of series of en-echelon blocks off the eastern side of the broken northern Ninetyeast Ridge might be incapable of generating great earthquake in this area. | Prosanta Kumar Khan Sk Shamim Manoranjan Mohanty Prabhat Kumar Jayashree Banerjee | 2017 | Journal of Earth Science2017,28,4: | 4 |
| 7 | 运用光谱参数冠层覆盖度建立作物长势及氮营养状态模型显示文摘为了探索运用数码照片中光谱(红、绿、蓝)的像素计算得到的冠层覆盖度(canopy cover,CC)对玉米长势及氮素营养状态进行非破坏性监测的技术。通过获取玉米冠层的数码照片图像,定量化数码照片色彩参数与作物叶面积指数(leaf area index,LAI)、冠层干重(shoot dry matter weight,DM)、叶片氮素含量(leaf nitrogen content percentage,N%)之间的关系。试验于2012年和2013年在中国农业科学院试验田进行,运用基于Visual Basic Version 6.0研发的玉米冠层图像分析系统,分析了玉米品种中单909在3个氮素水平条件下分别于9叶展时期、抽雄期和灌浆期的CC、11种色彩指数与植株LAI,DM,N%及产量之间的相关性,并对相关性显著的指标进行了拟合与建模。结果表明,CC与LAI(r=0.93,p<0.01),DM(r=0.94,p<0.01),N%(r=0.82,p<0.01)之间均达到了极显著水平;用CC估算LAI,DM和N%的模型均为幂函数,方程式分别是y=3.281 2x^(0.763 9),y=283.658 1x^(0.553 6),y=3.064 5x^(0.932 9);用与建模相独立的数据对模型验证,结果表明,CC估算LAI模型的实测值与模拟值基于1∶1直线的R^2,RMSE和RE分别是0.996,0.035和1.46%;CC估算DM模型的R^2,RMSE和RE分别是0.978,5.408g和2.43%;CC估算N%模型的R^2,RMSE和RE分别是0.990,0.054和2.62%。综上所述,模型能够较准确的通过CC估算不同氮肥水平条件下玉米9叶展时期、抽雄期和灌浆期的LAI,DM与N%,表明应用数码相机的光谱信息可实现对玉米生长过程中的生长状况及氮素营养状态进行实时无损快速监测与预测。 | 陶志强 Shamim Ara Bagum 马玮 周宝元 付金东 崔日鲜 孙雪芳 赵明 | 2016 | 光谱学与光谱分析2016,36,1: | 4 |
| 8 | Genesis of tuff interval and its uranium enrichment in Upper Triassic of Ordos Basin, NW China显示文摘Recently measured high gamma ray values in the Yanchang Formation of the Upper Triassic in the Ordos Basin have added an interesting and controversial twist to the study of the formation’s uranium enrichment and genesis.High uranium and thorium contents in the tuffaceous layer cause high gamma ray values in the Yanchang Formation.Petrographic studies,major elements,rare earth elements(REEs),and trace elements have been systematically analyzed to determine the composition,geochemical environment,and diagenetic processes of the layer.The observed color of the tuffaceous layer in the study area varies from yellow to yellowish brown.The tuff consists of matrix supported with sub-rounded to sub-angular lithic fragments.These lithic fragments probably derived from pre-existing rocks and incorporated into the tuffaceous layer during volcanic eruption.Quartz,plagioclase,and biotite were observed in well to poorly sorted form,in addition to framboidal pyrite and organic laminae.Measured ratios of SiO_2/Al_2O_3 ranged from 3.277 to 6.105 with an average of 3.738.The ratio of TiO_2/Al_2O_3 varied from 0.037 to 0.201 with an average of 0.061,indicating that the sediments of the tuffaceous layer originated from an intermediate magma.REE distribution patterns show sharp negative Eu anomalies,indicating a reducing environment,which is suitable for uranium deposition.A reducing environment was confirmed by black shale in the base of the Yanchang Formation.Such black shale has high organic matter content that can take kerogene from mudstone and provide a reducing environment for uranium enrichment in the tuffaceous layer.Moreover,negative Eu anomalies and the REE patterns indicate a subduction-related volcanic arc environment as the magma source of the tuffaceous layers.High values of Rb,Ba,and Sr might be the result of fluid phase activities;low values of Hf and Eu indicate the involvement of crustal material during diagenesis of the tuff.Discrimination diagrams(Th/Yb vs Ta/Yb,Th/Hf vs Ta/Hf)suggest an active continental margin as the tectonic setting of source volcanoes.Plots of Nb versus Y,Rb versus Y+Nb,TiO_2 versus Zr,and Th/Yb versus Nb/Yb of the tuffaceous content point to calc-alkaline continental arc-related magmatism.We concluded that uranium enrichment in the tuffaceous layer was supported by oxidation–reduction. | Shamim Akhtar Nosheen Sahir Xiaoyong Yang | 2018 | Acta Geochimica2018,37,1: | 4 |

| 10 | Coat-and-print patterning of silver nanowires for flexible and transparent electronics显示文摘Silver nanowires(Ag NWs)possess excellent optoelectronic properties,which have led to many technology-focused applications of transparent and flexible electronics.Many of these applications require patterning of Ag NWs into desired shapes,for which maskbased and printing-based techniques have been developed and widely used.However,there are still several limitations associated to these techniques.These limitations,such as complicated patterning procedures,limited patterning area,and compromised optical transparency,hamper the efficient fabrication of high-performance Ag NW patterns.Here,we propose a coat-and-print approach for effectively patterning Ag NWs.We printed a polymer-based ink on the spin-coated Ag NW films.The ink acts as a protective layer to help remove excess Ag NWs from the substrate and then dissolves itself into an organic solvent.In this way,we can take advantage of both coating-based techniques(lead to Ag NWs with high transparency)and printing-based techniques(efficiently pattern diverse shapes).The resultant Ag NW patterns exhibit comparable conductivity(sheet resistance:7.1 to 30 Ohm/sq)and transparency(transmittance:84 to 95%atλ=550 nm)to those made by conventional coating methods.In addition,the patterned Ag NWs exhibit robust mechanical stability and reliability,surviving extensive bending and peeling tests.Due to higher conductivity,efficient patterning ability and inherent transparency,this material system and application method is highly suitable for transparent and flexible electronics.As a proof of concept,this research demonstrates a wide-band antenna,operating in the mm-wave range that includes the 5G communication band.The proposed antenna exhibits a wide bandwidth of 26 GHz(from 17.9 GHz to 44 GHz),robust return loss under 1000 cyclic bending(bending radius of 3.5 mm),and decent transparency over the entire visible wavelength(86.8%transmittance atλ=550 nm).This work’s promising results indicate that this method can be adapted for roll-to-roll manufacturing to efficiently produce patterned and optically transparent devices. | Weiwei Li Azat Meredov Atif Shamim | 2019 | npj Flexible Electronics2019,3,1: | 3 |
| 11 | Visible light communication for intelligent transportation systems:A review of the latest technologies显示文摘In seeking to improve traffic congestion and safety on roads and highways,there has been an increased interest in intelligent transportation systems(ITS).The emerging visible light communication(VLC)technology is a new candidate to enable wireless access in ITS.The purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive review of the current studies related to VLC.Since VLC facilitates illumination and data communication simultaneously,it reduces energy consumption significantly.Additionally,VLC is immune to electromagnetic interference,provides high data security,and utilizes unregulated visible light spectrum,showing promise as a potentially cheaper alternative to existing radio frequency(RF)based technology.Moreover,recent advances in semiconductor materials and solid-state technologies have enabled the development of efficient light-emitting diodes(LEDs)and laser diodes(LDs)which are used as transmitters in a VLC system.Although 10 s of Gbits/s data rate has been demonstrated in indoor VLC links,successful implementation of it in outdoor environments requires further research to overcome the challenges presented by environmental factors,unwanted lights,non-line of sight communication,directional radiation pattern,frequent fragmentation,and so on.Besides,in recent years,semiconductor LDs have been garnering more attention since they can transmit more data over longer distances due to their high quantum efficiency and modulation bandwidth compared to LEDs.As a result,urban planners,policy-makers,transportation engineers,and vehicle manufacturers are considering LD-based VLC to facilitate vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.Thus,this paper reviews and compares the most recent developments in VLC technologies,identifies their benefits and potential use in ITS applications,discusses the probable barriers for their implementation in our existing transportation infrastructure,and suggests future research directions and recommendations to overcome these challenges. | Khaled Shaaban Md Hosne Mobarok Shamim Khadija Abdur-Rouf | 2021 | Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2021,8,4: | 3 |
| 12 | Geochemistry of sedimentary rocks from Permian–Triassic boundary sections of Tethys Himalaya: implications for paleo-weathering, provenance, and tectonic setting显示文摘The geochemical characteristics of two sections—the Permian–Triassic boundary(PTB) Guryul Ravine section, Kashmir Valley, Jammu and Kashmir,India; and the Attargoo section, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India—have been studied in the context of provenance, paleo-weathering, and plate tectonic setting.These sections represent the siliciclastic sedimentary sequence from the Tethys Himalaya. The PTB siliciclastic sedimentary sequence in these regions primarily consists of sandstones and shales with variable thickness. Present studied sandstones and shales of both sections had chemical index of alteration values between 65 and 74; such values reveal low-to-moderate degree of chemical weathering. The chemical index of weathering in studied samples ranged from 71 to 94, suggesting a minor K-metasomatism effect on these samples. Plagioclase index of alteration in studied sections ranged from 68 to 92, indicating a moderate degree of weathering of plagioclase feldspars. The provenance discriminant function diagram suggests that the detritus involved in the formation of present studied siliciclastic sedimentary rocks fall in quartzose sedimentary and felsic igneous provenances. | 14 | Effect of Low-Pressure Nitrogen DC Plasma Treatment on the Surface Properties of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene, Poly (Methyl Methacrylate) and Polyvinyl Chloride Films显示文摘In this study, commercial biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films were treated with nitrogen plasma over different exposure times in a Pyrex tube surrounded by a DC variable magnetic field. The chemical changes that appeared on the surface of the samples were investigated using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR- FTIR) spectroscopy after treatment for 2 min, 4 min and 6 min in a nitrogen plasma chamber. Effects of the plasma treatment on the surface topographies and contact angles of the untreated and plasma treated films were also analyzed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and a contact angle measuring system. The results show that the plasma treated films become more hydrophilic with an enhanced wettability due to the formation of some new polar groups on the surface of the treated films. Moreover, at higher exposure times, the total surface energy in all treated films increased while a reduction in contact angle occurred. | 15 | Geochemistry and Depositional Setting of Fort Munro Formation,Middle and Lower Indus Basins,Pakistan显示文摘Fort Munro Formation represents the products of the Upper Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) in the middle and lower Indus basins. The formation is exposed in the Rakhi Nala (Sulaiman Range), Bara Nala (Lakhi Range) and Naka Pabni (Southern Pab Range) areas. Major and trace elemental geochemistry and petrographic studies of the formation have been carried out to understand the facies trends in the middle and lower Indus basins. A high amount of acid-insoluble fraction, Ca/Mg and Mg vs. Ca/Sr ratio reveal that the formation was deposited in a shallow marine regressive environment. High amounts of clastic reflect abundant influx of terrigenous materials from the east (Indian craton) and west (Bibai volcanic). High Sr content indicates that aragonite was the precursor mineral, which was transformed into stable low-Mg calcite during diagenesis. | 16 | Range extension of four highland agamid lizards in Shimshal Pamir,Pakistan显示文摘As part of the Sino-Pak trans-boundary cooperation for conservation and sustainable development in Pamir border region,World Wild Fund (WWF)-Pakistan conducted a preliminary social,economic and ecological survey in the Shimshal-Pamir Lakes area in July 2009.The purpose of the study was to explore potentials and opportunities for future collaborative conservation of some species,habitats and high altitude ecosystems in the border region between China and Pakistan.The two-week herpetological study in the Shimshal Pamir area of Khunjerab National Park (KNP) along Pakistan-China border was an integral part of the survey,conducted exclu-sively to document reptilian fauna with a special emphasis on investigating their occurrence,distribution and status in the study area.Field investigations were performed during daytime when it was hot enough and reptiles were active,basking or feeding.A total of 15 specimens belonging to four species of the Agamidae family were captured by striking stones and beating bushes with sticks.Collected specimens were preserved using 10% formalin solution,tagged with field information and stored in Zoological Survey Department,Karachi for future reference.Laboratory investigations were carried out for pholidosic counts and morphometric measurements.A detailed review of relevant literature,habitat characteristics and laboratory investigations revealed the occurrence of Laudakia himalayana,L.pakistanica,L.tuberculata and L.badakhshana at 4,082 m,4,172 m,4,005 m and 4,240 m asl,respectively,which are much higher altitudes as compared to the previously reported heights of 3,353 m,3,200 m,2,500 m and 2,400 m asl.The terrain offers a variety of ecological barriers,in the form of fast and freezing running waters and massive glaciers with peculiar harsh climatic conditions prevailing for nine months of the year,which restricts species migration and thus increases endemism.Although one of the four species recorded from the study area,i.e.L.pakistanica is endemic to Pakistan,L.tuberculata and L.badakhshana are new records from Shimshal,Pakistan,so a detailed investigation is suggested for further herpetological records from the study area. | Babar KHAN Waseem AHMED Abdukadir Ablimit Shamim FAKHRI Hassan ALI | 2012 | Journal of Arid Land2012,4,1: | 2 |
| 17 | Pembrolizumab-emerging treatment of pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Few studies have addressed the efficacy of pembrolizumab in pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma(PSC),a rare,previously rapidly fatal subtype of nonsmall-cell lung cancer.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 69-year-old man presented with respiratory distress caused by a large left upper lung lobe mass diagnosed as PSC with programmed death-ligand 1 expressed on more than 50 percent of tumor cells.The patient was started on pembrolizumab and,after 5 cycles,there was a more than 80 percent decrease in the size of the tumor mass.Further decrease was seen at the end of 10 cycles.The patient has been tolerating pembrolizumab well,with no limiting side-effects.Fourteen months after first coming into the hospital,he remains asymptomatic.CONCLUSION Pembrolizumab appears as a viable emerging treatment for PSC. | Emanuela Cimpeanu Jibran Ahmed Wahib Zafar Adreana DeMarinis Svetoslav S Bardarov Shamim Salman Dennis Bloomfield | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,1: | 2 |
| 18 | In vivo anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the anticancer activity of vanillin semicarbazone(VSC) against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC) cells in Swiss albino mice.Methods:The compound VSC at three doses(5, 7.5 and 10 mg/kg i.p.) was administered into the intraperitoneal cavity of the EAC inoculated mice to observe its efficiency by studying the cell growth inhibition, reduction of tumour weight,enhancement of survival time as well as the changes in depleted hematological parameters. Allsuch parameters were also studied with a known standard drug bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.).Results:Among the doses studied, 10 mg/kg(i.p.) was found to be quite comparable in potency to that of bleomycin at the dose of 0.3 mg/kg(i.p.). | 19 | Biomass and net primary productivity of mangrove communities along the Oligohaline zone of Sundarbans, Bangladesh显示文摘Background:The article presents the first estimates of biomass and productivity for mangrove forests along the Oligohaline zone of the Sundarbans Reserve Forest(SRF),Bangladesh.This study was conducted overone year from March 2016 to April 2017.Stand structure,above and below-ground biomass changes,and litterfall production were measured within a 2100 m^2 sample plot.Methods:All trees in the study plots were numbered and height(H) and diameter at breast height(DBH) were measured.Tree height(H) and DBH for each tree were measured in March 2016 and 2017.We apply the above and belowground biomass equation for estimating the biomass of the mangrove tree species(Chave et al.Oecologia145:87-99,2005; Komiyama et al.J Trop Ecol 21:471-477,2005).Litterfall was collected using 1-mm mesh litter traps with collection area of 0.42 m^2.Net Primary Production(NPP) was estimated by the summation method of Ogawa Primary productivity of Japanese forests:productivity of terrestrial communities,JIBP synthesis(1977) and Matsuura and Kajimoto Carbon dynamics of terrestrial ecosystem:Systems approach to global environment(2013).Results:Heritiera fomes has maintained its dominance of the stand and also suffered the highest tree mortality(2.4%) in the suppressed crown class.The total above-ground biomass(AGB) and below-ground biomass(BGB) of the studied stand was 154.8 and 84.2 Mg ha^(-1),respectively.Among the total biomass of the trees,64.8% was allocated to AGB and 35.2% to BGB.In case of species-wise contribution of biomass allocation,Avicennia officinalis showed the highest score and Aglaia cucullata the lowest.Mean annual total litterfall was 10.1 Mg ha^(-1)·yr^(-1),with the maximum litterfall in winter or dry season and late summer or rainy season.The mean AGB increment and above-ground net primary productivity(AGNPP) were 7.1 and 172 Mg·ha^(-1)·yr^(-1),respectively.Total net primary productivity(NPP) was estimated to be 21.0 Mg·ha^(-1)·yr^(-1) over the observed period.The results in the Sundarbans mangrove forests exhibited that mangrove communities with similar height and diameter produced different biomass production with the different basal area.The present analysis revealed that the root biomass was large enough and the mean ratio of above-/below-ground biomass was estimated to be 1.84.Conclusions:Mangrove communities growing at the oligohaline zone of the Sundarbans,Bangladesh showed high biomass and net primary production indicating their ecological and conservation significance that may be considered in future decision making process for the area as well as in understanding the role of Sundarbans mangrove forest on mitigating the effect of global warming. | Md. | 20 | Effects of plastic sheet on water saving and yield under furrow irrigation method in semi-arid region显示文摘The increasing demand of water in the country highlights the need to introduce low-input and water saving technologies for agricultural sustainability and crop production,mainly in semi-arid region.A study was conducted to minimize deep percolation losses from the furrow bottom under two different irrigation treatments viz.(1)furrow bottom with plastic sheet(T1)and(2)furrow bottom without plastic Sheet(T0).The physical and chemical analyses of soil profile were taken at a depth of 0-80 cm before and after crop harvesting.The dry density of soil slightly increased(0.01 g/cm^(3))under both treatments,while soil pH decreased under T1.The average yield was 8332 kg/hm^(2) and 7575 kg/hm^(2),with 21.56 m^(3) and 31.09 m^(3) total volume of irrigation water applied under T1and T0,respectively.The saving percentages of water under treatments were 52.22% and 31.00% under T1 and T0 respectively as compared to the saving of water under traditional irrigation practice.Overall,better performance,in terms of crop production and water saving,was obtained with use of plastic sheet integrated with bottom of furrows.Hence,it is suggested that the furrow irrigation method with plastic sheet may be used to preventing moisture and minimize deep percolation losses from furrow bottom. | Muhammad Sohail Memon Kausar Ali Altaf Ali Siyal Jun Guo Shamim Ara Memon Shakeel Ahmed Soomro Noreena Memon Changying Ji | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,1: | 2 |
