Novel Double-Damped Tuned AC Filters in HVDC Systems显示文摘This paper presents a performance analysis of novel doubledampedtuned alternating current (AC) filters in high voltage direct current(HVDC) systems. The proposed double-damped tuned AC filters offer theadvantages of improved performance of HVDC systems in terms of betterpower quality, high power factor, and lower total harmonic distortion (THD).The system under analysis consists of an 878 km long HVDC transmissionline connecting converter stations at Matiari and Lahore, two major cities inPakistan. The main focus of this research is to design a novel AC filter usingthe equivalent impedance method of two single-tuned and double-dampedtuned AC filters. Additionally, the impact of the damping resistor on the ACchannel is examined. TheTHDof theHVDCsystem with and without currentAC filters was also compared in this research and a double-damped tuned ACfilter was proposed. The results of the simulation represent that the proposeddouble-damped tuned AC filter is far smaller in size, offers better powerquality, and has a much lower THD compared to the AC filters currently inplace in the converter station. The simulation analysis was carried out utilizingpower systems computer-aided design (PSCAD) software. | Rana Shaheer Mehmood Asif Hussain Usman Ali Muhammad Tariq Mahmood | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,4: | 0
A study on utilization of anti-asthmatic drugs at a medical college hospital in India显示文摘Objective:To study the usage of anti-asthmatic dugs and enumerate the patients’ noncompliance. Methods:The study was conducted from 5th Feb,2006 to 5th Mar,2006.The samples were from the general medicine ward. All patients with respiratory tract infection who received anti-asthmatic drugs were included in the study.Data were collected from clinical notes and structured patient’s data, and patient interview utilizing a piloted questionnaire data collection form. The questionnaire included patient demographics,anti-asthmatics prescribed, dose, frequency and previous treatment if any and its duration, concomitant medications etc. Results:26.31%of patients were 61-70 years old.Among 57 patients,91.23%of patients received multi-therapy,8.77%of patients received mono-therapy,59.65%of patients took over the counter(OTC) drugs and 57.89%of patients were non compliant.Anti-asthmatic drugs were prescribed to asthmatic patients as oral, inhalation and others(injections),and more than one route were used for administration of drugs. Conclusion:The anti-asthmatics are used to treat breathing difficulties such as allergy.Poor compliance to treatment is common among the patients, which makes it difficult to manage asthma and increases both morbidity and mortality. It is suggested that interventions have to be done by providing counseling and improving the current prescribing trend for better and rational utilization. | Shalini Ravichandran Vipin Mathew Vijesh Shaheer Noushad Abdul Nazer Ali Ravichandran Veerasamy | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,1: | 0
SARS-CoV-2: Has artificial intelligence stood the test of time显示文摘Artificial intelligence (AI) has proven time and time again to be a game-changer innovation in every walk of life, including medicine. Introduced by Dr. Gunn in 1976 to accurately diagnose acute abdominal pain and list potential differentials, AI has since come a long way. In particular, AI has been aiding in radiological diagnoses with good sensitivity and specificity by using machine learning algorithms. With the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, AI has proven to be more than just a tool to facilitate healthcare workers in decision making and limiting physician-patient contact during the pandemic. It has guided governments and key policymakers in formulating and implementing laws, such as lockdowns and travel restrictions, to curb the spread of this viral disease. This has been made possible by the use of social media to map severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 hotspots, laying the basis of the 'smart lockdown' strategy that has been adopted globally. However, these benefits might be accompanied with concerns regarding privacy and unconsented surveillance, necessitating authorities to develop sincere and ethical government–public relations. | Mir Ibrahim Sajid Shaheer Ahmed Usama Waqar Javeria Tariq Mohsin Chundrigarh Samira Shabbir Balouch Sajid Abaidullah | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,15: | 0
The effects of local environment towards yield and selectivity on photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction catalyzed by metal-organic framework显示文摘The CO_(2)photoconversion is sensitive to the local reaction environment,of which activity and selectivity can be regulated by the change of reaction systems. This paper focuses on investigating the photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction behaviors of MOFs with the involvement of water under different reaction modes, including gas-solid and liquid-solid systems. The CO_(2)photoreduction in a liquid-solid system shows high performance in generating HCOOH with the selectivity of 100%.In contrast, the gas-solid system referring to the synergistic interaction of MOFs and H_(2)O vapor benefits to the formation of gas-phase products, such as CO and CH_(4).The possible mechanisms of photocatalytic CO_(2)reaction in two modes were investigated by in-situ Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, which indicates that the distinction in reaction consequence may result from the difference in CO_(2)chemisorbed modes and the proton provision. The choice of reaction system plays an important role in the achievement of high efficiency and selectivity for photocatalytic CO,reduction, whichis of great practical value in real-world applications. | Qianqian Huang Rui Wang Xiya Li Tianfu Liu A.R.Mahammed Shaheer Rong Cao | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12: | 0
Assessment of biogas generation potential from slaughterhouse wastes in Dhaka city,Bangladesh显示文摘Slaughterhouse waste is a highly energy-rich waste and is an attractive material to treat through anaerobic digestion to produce biogas.Biogas could be burned to provide heating and electricity or can be converted to bio-methane to be used as fuel.It can also aid in waste management and evidently reduce the ecological and environmental hazards. In this paper, the potential of biogas generation from the slaughterhouses in Dhaka is investigated.Slaughterhouses in 21 regions in Dhaka city have been surveyed for data collection and analysis. The study estimates that approximately 7915 tons of slaughterhouse waste are generated annually from the slaughterhouses in Dhaka city which has the potential to generate 2.15 Mm^(3) of biogas.A case study on the biggest government registered slaughterhouse is also demonstrated regarding generating electricity. | Sayedus Salehin Syed Shaheer Uddin Ahmed Md.Ehasanul Hoque Md.Salauddin Mrigdad S.M.Ashef Hussain S.M.Tahsin Intisar | 2021 | Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2021,3,1: | 0
