| 3 | Twitter Arabic Sentiment Analysis to Detect Depression Using Machine Learning显示文摘Depression has been a major global concern for a long time, with the disease affecting aspects of many people’s daily lives, such as their moods, eating habits, and social interactions. In Arabic culture, there is a lack of awareness regarding the importance of facing and curing mental health diseases. However, people all over the world, including Arab citizens, tend to express their feelings openly on social media, especially Twitter,as it is a platform designed to enable the expression of emotions through short texts, pictures,or videos.Users are inclined to treat their Twitter accounts as diaries because the platform affords them anonymity. Many published studies have detected the occurrence of depression among Twitter users on the basis of data on tweets posted in English, but research on Arabic tweets is lacking. The aim of the present work was to develop a model for analyzing Arabic users’tweets and detecting depression among Arabic Twitter users. And expand the diversity of user tweets,by adding a new label(“neutral”)so the dataset include three classes(“depressed”,“non-depressed”,“neutral”).The model was created using machine learning classifiers and natural language processing techniques, such as Support Vector Machine(SVM),Random Forest(RF),Logistic Regression(LR),K-nearest Neighbors(KNN),AdaBoost, and Naïve Bayes(NB).The results showed that the RF classifier outperformed the others, registering an accuracy of 82.39%. | Dhiaa A.Musleh Taef A.Alkhales Reem A.Almakki Shahad E.Alnajim Shaden K.Almarshad Rana S.Alhasaniah Sumayh S.Aljameel Abdullah A.Almuqhim | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,5: | 0 |
| 4 | Adherence to Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices in diabetes mellitus patients in Saudi Arabia:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘BACKGROUND Patients with diabetes mellitus(DM)are predisposed to an increased risk of infection signifying the importance of vaccination to protect against its potentially severe complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices(CDC/ACIP)issued immunization recommendations to protect this patient population.AIM To assess the adherence of patients with DM to the CDC/ACIP immunization recommendations in Saudi Arabia and to identify the factors associated with the vaccine adherence rate.METHODS An observational retrospective study conducted in 2023 was used to collect data on the vaccination records from 13 diabetes care centers in Saudi Arabia with 1000 eligible patients in phase I with data collected through chart review and 709 patients in phase II through online survey.RESULTS Among participants,10.01%(n=71)had never received any vaccine, while 85.89%(n=609)received at least one dose of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccine,and 34.83%(n=247)had received the annual influenza vaccine.Only 2.96%(n=21),2.11%(n=15),and 1.12%(n=8)received herpes zoster, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis(Tdap),and human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccines, respectively. For patients with DM in Saudi Arabia, the rate of vaccination for annual influenza and COVID-19 vaccines was higher compared to other vaccinations such as herpes zoster,Tdap, pneumococcal, and HPV.Factors such as vaccine recommendations provided by family physicians or specialists, site of care, income level,DM-related hospitalization history, residency site, hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)level,and health sector type can significantly influence the vaccination rate in patients with DM.Among non-vaccinated patients with DM,the most reported barriers were lack of knowledge and fear of side effects. This signifies the need for large-scale research in this area to identify additional factors that might facilitate adherence to CDC/ACIP vaccine recommendations in patients with DM.CONCLUSION In Saudi Arabia, patients with DM showed higher vaccination rates for annual influenza and COVID-19 vaccines compared to other vaccinations such as herpes zoster,Tdap, pneumococcal, and HPV.Factors such as vaccine recommendations provided by family physicians or specialists, the site of care, income level,DM-related hospitalization history, residency site,HbA1c level, and health sector type can significantly influence the vaccination rate in patients with DM. | Saleh Fahad Alqifari Aya K Esmail Dalal M Alarifi Ghalya Y Alsuliman Maram M Alhati May R Mutlaq Mohammed Aldhaeefi Shaden A Alshuaibi Palanisamy Amirthalingam Abrar Abdallah Afaf S Wasel Heba R Hamad Shoroq Alamin Tasneem H Atia Tariq Alqahtani | 2024 | World Journal of Diabetes2024,15,3: | 0 |
| 5 | Impact of rotavirus vaccine implementation on Israeli children:a comparison between pre-and post-vaccination era显示文摘Background Worldwide rotavirus vaccination has resulted in a substantial decrease in rotavirus-induced severe gastroenteritis and related hospitalizations among children.Still, the characterization of patients warranting hospitalization needs to be further elucidated. The purpose of the study is to compare the clinical and laboratory features of children hospitalized with acute rotavirus infection before and after the introduction of routine vaccination. Methods This is a retrospective observational study.Participants were pediatric patients who presented to the Bnai Zion Medical Center pediatric emergency department and were diagnosed with rotavirus acute gastroenteritis between 2017 and 2019.Results During the pre-vaccination period(2007–2009),114 infants and young children(median age:14 months,range:1–72 months;59 male,55 female)were hospitalized for rotavirus-induced acute gastroenteritis with a rate of 11.71 positive rotavirus tests per 1000 emergency room visits. In the post-vaccination period(2012–2019),168 infants and young children(median age:17 months,range:0–84 months;90 male,78 female)were hospitalized with a rate of 4.18 positive rotavirus tests per 1000 emergency room visits. There were no statistical differences between the two groups in gender,breast-feeding rates and sibling(s).The proportion of cases with moderate-to-severe dehydration was higher in the post-vaccination children than in the pre-vaccination children. Conclusions Rates of rotavirus-attributed acute gastroenteritis hospitalizations declined from the pre-to the post-vaccination period.Higher rates of dehydration were found in the post-vaccination children.Ongoing surveillance is warranted to better understand the implications of the vaccine. | Hussein Zaitoon Shaden Hanna Ellen Bamberger | 2022 | World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,6: | 0 |
| 6 | Diabetes mellitus is not associated with worse short term outcome in patients older than 65 years old post-liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a global health care challenge and a leading indication of liver transplantation(LT).Hence, more patients with diabetes mellitus(DM)are undergoing LT,especially, above the age of 65.AIM To evaluate the impact of DM on short-term outcomes post-LT in patients over the age of 65.METHODS We collected data of patients who underwent LT from January 2001 until December 2019 using our electronic medical record. We assessed the impact of DM on short-term outcomes,one-year,post-LT based on the following variables:Survival at one year;acute cellular rejection(ACR)rates;intensive care unit(ICU)and hospital length of stay;and readmissions.RESULTS Total of 148 patients who are 65 year or older underwent LT during the study period. The mean age is 68.5±3.3 years and 67.6%were male. The median Model for End-stage Liver Disease score at time of transplantation was 22(6-39),39%of patients had hepatocellular carcinoma and 77.7%underwent living donor LT.The one-year survival was similar between DM patients and others,91%.ACR occurred in 13.5%of patients(P=0.902).The median ICU stay is 4.5-day P=0.023.The rates of ICU and 90-d readmission were similar(P=0.821)and(P=0.194),respectively.CONCLUSION The short-term outcome of elderly diabetic patients undergoing LT is similar to others. The presence of DM in elderly LT candidates should not discourage physicians from transplant consideration in this cohort of patients. | Saad Alghamdi Shaden Alamro Dhari Alobaid Elwy Soliman Ali Albenmousa Khalid Ibrahim Bzeizi Saleh Alabbad Saleh A Alqahtani Dieter Broering Waleed Al-Hamoudi | 2023 | World Journal of Hepatology2023,15,2: | 0 |
