1GPGPU-parallelised hybrid finite-discrete element modelling of rock chipping and fragmentation process in mechanical cutting显示文摘Mechanical cutting provides one of the most flexible and environmentally friendly excavation methods.It has attracted numerous efforts to model the rock chipping and fragmentation process,especially using the explicit finite element method(FEM) and bonded particle model(BPM),in order to improve cutting efficiency.This study investigates the application of a general-purpose graphic-processing-unit parallelised hybrid finite-discrete element method(FDEM) which enjoys the advantages of both explicit FEM and BPM,in modelling the rock chipping and fragmentation process in the rock scratch test of mechanical rock cutting.The input parameters of FDEM are determined through a calibration procedure of modelling conventional Brazilian tensile and uniaxial compressive tests of limestone,A series of scratch tests with various cutting velocities,cutter rake angles and cutting depths is then modelled using FDEM with calibrated input parameters.A few cycles of cutter/rock interactions,including their engagement and detachment process,are modelled for each case,which is conducted for the first time to the best knowledge of the authors,thanks to the general purpose graphic processing units(GPGPU) parallelisation.The failure mechanism,cutting force,chipping morphology and effect of various factors on them are discussed on the basis of the modelled results.Finally,it is concluded that GPGPU-parallelised FDEM provides a powerful tool to further study rock cutting and improve cutting efficiencies since it can explicitly capture different fracture mechanisms contributing to the rock chipping as well as chip formation and the separation process in mechanical cutting.Moreover,it is concluded that chipping is mostly owed to the mix-mode Ⅰ-Ⅱ fracture in all cases although mode Ⅱ cracks and mode Ⅰ cracks are the dominant failures in rock cutting with shallow and deep cutting depths,respectively.The chip morphology is found to be a function of cutter velocdty,cutting depth and cutter rake angle.Mojtaba Mohammadnejad Sevda Dehkhoda Daisuke Fukuda Hongyuan Liu Andrew Chan 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,2:5

3Clearance angle and evolution of depth of cut in actuated disc cutting显示文摘This paper investigates the effect of cutter clearance angle on variation of depth of cut and cutting process with an actuated disc cutting(ADC).ADC is a cyclic cutting method with two main characteristics:(i)a disk-shape cutter is used to attack the rock in an undercutting mechanism;and(ii)the cutter is dynamically actuated as it is moved across the rock.Hence,the cutting process of such system is periodic,each recurrence known as actuation cycle.The first ADC model,developed in 2016,represented an idealization of the technology with a flat disc cutter,where no clearance angle was considered.The evolution of the contact between the disc and the rock was,therefore,computed only on horizontal x-y plane,ignoring the effect of normal component of the force acting on cartridge.This article reports on a study that incorporates the cutter inclination angle in derivation of cutter/rock interface laws.It extends the proposed kinematic and geometry based model to take into account the variable depth of cut in estimating the forces associated with cutting in one actuation cycle.Experiments were conducted using Wobble to test the predictions of the improved model at various operating conditions.The model predictions are matched with the experimental results and effects of various factors are analysed.Sevda Dehkhoda Bryce Hill 2019Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2019,11,3:2
4Microstructural,Mechanical,Electrical,and Thermal Properties of the Bi-Sn-Ag Ternary Eutectic Alloy显示文摘The development of lead-free solders has emerged as one of the key issues in the electronics packaging industries.Bi-Sn-Ag eutectic alloy has been considered as one of the lead-free solder materials that can replace the toxic Pb-Sn eutectic solder without increasing soldering temperature.We investigated the effects of temperature gradient and growth rate on the mechanical,electrical and thermal properties of the BiSn-Ag ternary eutectic alloy.Bi-47 wt%Sn-0.68 wt%Ag alloy was directionally solidified upward with different temperature gradients(G=2.33-5.66 K/mm) at a constant growth rate(V=13.25 μm/s) and with different growth rates(V=6.55-132.83 μm/s) at a constant temperature gradient(G=2.33 K/mm) in the growth apparatus.The microstructures(λ),microhardness(HV),tensile stress(σ),electrical resistivity(ρ),and thermal properties(△H,C_p,T_m) were measured on directionally solidified samples.The dependency of the λ,HV,σ,and ρ on G and V was investigated.According to the experimental results,X values decrease with increasing G and V,but HV,λ,and ρ values increase with increasing G and V.Variations of electrical resistivity(ρ) for cast samples with the temperature in the range of 300-400 K were also measured by using a standard dc four-point probe technique.The enthalpy of fusion(△H) and specific heat(C_p) for the same alloy was also determined by means of differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) from heating trace during the transformation from eutectic liquid to eutectic solid.KAYA Hasan ENGÍN Sevda AKER Aynur BüYüK Ugur ÇADIRLI Emin 2017Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2017,32,1:2

7Effect of environmental factors on species diversity of the Yenice Hot Spot Forests in Turkey显示文摘We quantified the diversity of vascular plant species and described soil properties and topographical and climatic conditions of the Citdere and Kavakli Nature Reserves in the Yenice Forest of Turkey. We used the Shannon-Weiner and Simpson's indices of diversity,Margalef's index of species richness and Pielou's evenness index to quantify the structure of vascular plant assemblages. We measured soil parameters(NO_3^-, NH_4^+,available P, Mg^(++), K^+, Na^+, Ca^(++), organic matter, pH,soil moisture), elevation, slope gradient and aspect and their correlations with plant community parameters. In total, we recorded and identified 207 species and subspecies in the study area. Species cover, richness and diversity indices varied significantly by vegetation type(P < 0.01). Available NO_3^- and Ca++ in the soil were important factors for the area and species representation in the species-environment correlations estimated for the Kavakli area. 14Levels of vocational satisfaction,burnout and compassion fatigue of health professionals working in pediatric clinics显示文摘BACKGROUND Burnout and compassion fatigue are affecting the quality of professional life.AIM To investigate the levels of vocational satisfaction,burnout,and compassion fatigue and factors that may be related to health professionals working in children’s clinics.METHODS The study sample was in the west of Turkey.Data were collected using the questionnaire form and the quality of life scale for employees.RESULTS The findings obtained in this study showed that the level of vocational satisfaction of female health professionals and the burnout level of male health professionals were higher.The professional satisfaction of the doctors was lower than that of the nurses and midwives,and the mean score of burnout and fatigue was high.CONCLUSION Further studies are needed on this topic to help improve the factors that may affect the professional quality of life of health professionals.Oğuz Koyuncu Sevda Arslan 2022World Journal of Clinical Pediatrics2022,11,1:1
15Soil chronosequence and biosequence on old lake sediments of the Burdur Lake in Turkey显示文摘The Burdur Lake is located in the southwest of Turkey,and its area has decreased by 40% from 211 km^(2) in 1975 to 126 km^(2) in 2019.In this study,we investigated how the soil has changed in the lacustrine material.Three soil profiles were sampled from the former lakebed(chronosequence profiles:P1,2007;P2,1994;and P3,1975),and three soil profiles under different land use types(biosequence profiles:P4,native forest vegetation;P5,agriculture;and P6,lakebed)were sampled.The chronosequence and biosequence soil profiles represented various distances from the Burdur Lake and showed different stages of lacustrine evolution.Soil electrical conductivity(EC;18.1 to 0.4 dS m^(-1)),exchangeable Na^(+)(34.7 to 1.4 cmol kg^(-1))and K^(+)(0.61 to 0.56 cmol kg^(-1)),and water-soluble Cl^(-)(70.3 to 2.1 cmol L^(-1))and SO_(4)^(2-)(275.9 to 25.0 cmol L^(-1))decreased with increasing distance from the Burdur Lake,whereas the A horizon thickness(10 to 48 cm),structure formation(0 to 48 cm),gleization-oxidation depth(0 to 79 cm),and montmorillonite and organic matter(OM;25.9 to 46.0 g kg^(-1))contents increased in the chronosequence soil profiles.The formation of P3 in the chronosequence and P5 in the biosequence soil profiles increased due to longer exposure to pedogenic processes(time,land use,vegetation,etc.).Changes in EC,exchangeable cation(Na^(+) and K^(+))and water-soluble anion(Cl^(-) and SO_(4)^(2-))concentrations of the salt-enriched horizon,OM,gleization-oxidation depth,A horizon thickness,and structure formation of the chronosequence and biosequence soil profiles(especially the topsoil horizon)were highly related to the distance from the Burdur Lake,time,and land use.Gafur GOZUKARA Yakun ZHANG Alfred EHARTEMINK Sevda ALTUNBAS Mustafa SARI 2021Pedosphere2021,31,6:1
