| 1 | Mechanisms of temozolomide resistance in glioblastoma-a comprehensive review显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM)is the most common primary malignant brain tumor in adults and has an exceedingly low median overall survival of only 15 months.Current standard-of-care for GBM consists of gross total surgical resection followed by radiation with concurrent and adjuvant chemotherapy.Temozolomide(TMZ)is the first-choice chemotherapeutic agent in GBM;however,the development of resistance to TMZ often becomes the limiting factor in effective treatment.While O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase repair activity and uniquely resistant populations of glioma stem cells are the most well-known contributors to TMZ resistance,many other molecular mechanisms have come to light in recent years.Key emerging mechanisms include the involvement of other DNA repair systems,aberrant signaling pathways,autophagy,epigenetic modifications,microRNAs,and extracellular vesicle production.This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the clinically relevant molecular mechanisms and their extensive interconnections to better inform efforts to combat TMZ resistance. | Neha Singh Alexandra Miner Lauren Hennis Sandeep Mittal | 2021 | Cancer Drug Resistance2021,4,1: | 4 |
| 2 | Multilayer Neural Network Based Speech Emotion Recognition for Smart Assistance显示文摘Day by day,biometric-based systems play a vital role in our daily lives.This paper proposed an intelligent assistant intended to identify emotions via voice message.A biometric system has been developed to detect human emotions based on voice recognition and control a few electronic peripherals for alert actions.This proposed smart assistant aims to provide a support to the people through buzzer and light emitting diodes(LED)alert signals and it also keep track of the places like households,hospitals and remote areas,etc.The proposed approach is able to detect seven emotions:worry,surprise,neutral,sadness,happiness,hate and love.The key elements for the implementation of speech emotion recognition are voice processing,and once the emotion is recognized,the machine interface automatically detects the actions by buzzer and LED.The proposed system is trained and tested on various benchmark datasets,i.e.,Ryerson Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech and Song(RAVDESS)database,Acoustic-Phonetic Continuous Speech Corpus(TIMIT)database,Emotional Speech database(Emo-DB)database and evaluated based on various parameters,i.e.,accuracy,error rate,and time.While comparing with existing technologies,the proposed algorithm gave a better error rate and less time.Error rate and time is decreased by 19.79%,5.13 s.for the RAVDEES dataset,15.77%,0.01 s for the Emo-DB dataset and 14.88%,3.62 for the TIMIT database.The proposed model shows better accuracy of 81.02%for the RAVDEES dataset,84.23%for the TIMIT dataset and 85.12%for the Emo-DB dataset compared to Gaussian Mixture Modeling(GMM)and Support Vector Machine(SVM)Model. | Sandeep Kumar MohdAnul Haq Arpit Jain C.Andy Jason Nageswara Rao Moparthi Nitin Mittal Zamil S.Alzamil | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Spectrum of Pediatric Malignancies: An Observational Single Center Study from Western India显示文摘Cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescent worldwide.The cure rates in low middle-income countries are dismal(20%)in comparison to high income countries(80%).The first move is to assemble precise data on epidemiology of pediatric cancer across the country and its region wide variation.This study attempts to provide spectrum of pediatric malignancies from a tertiary care hospital in the state of Rajasthan,India.A total of 140 cases were studied retrospectively over a period of two years(April 2018-March 2020).Patients,0-18 years of age that are diagnosed as a case of malignancy were included in this study.The records of these patients were retrieved and analyzed.Patients were stratified in 4 groups;0-4 years,5-9 years,10-14 years and 15-18 years.Most of the patients fell in 15-18 year group(35.7%),followed by 5-9 year group(28.5%).Majority of cases,67.8%were male.The male to female ratio is 2.1:1.Leukemia(40%)was the most common malignancy followed by lymphoma,retinoblastoma and malignant bone tumors.Acute lymphoblastic leukemia comprises majority(35/56)of leukemia.Retinoblastoma was predominant malignancy among<5-year children.In all other groups,leukemia was predominant.This study gauges the trend of pediatric malignancies at one of the largest tertiary care hospitals in Rajasthan,which is important in the planning and evaluation of health strategies.As we lack a dedicated pediatric cancer registry,such epidemiological studies play a significant part for this small but distinguished group of patients. | Aditi Mittal Kanu Neemawat Sandeep Jasuja Anushree Chaturvedi | 2021 | Journal of Oncology Research2021,3,2: | 0 |
| 9 | Optimization of Cognitive Radio System Using Enhanced Firefly Algorithm显示文摘The optimization of cognitive radio(CR)system using an enhanced firefly algorithm(EFA)is presented in this work.The Firefly algorithm(FA)is a nature-inspired algorithm based on the unique light-flashing behavior of fireflies.It has already proved its competence in various optimization prob-lems,but it suffers from slow convergence issues.To improve the convergence performance of FA,a new variant named EFA is proposed.The effectiveness of EFA as a good optimizer is demonstrated by optimizing benchmark functions,and simulation results show its superior performance compared to biogeography-based optimization(BBO),bat algorithm,artificial bee colony,and FA.As an application of this algorithm to real-world problems,EFA is also applied to optimize the CR system.CR is a revolutionary technique that uses a dynamic spectrum allocation strategy to solve the spectrum scarcity problem.However,it requires optimization to meet specific performance objectives.The results obtained by EFA in CR system optimization are compared with results in the literature of BBO,simulated annealing,and genetic algorithm.Statistical results further prove that the proposed algorithm is highly efficient and provides superior results. | Nitin Mittal Rohit Salgotra Abhishek Sharma Sandeep Kaur SSAskar Mohamed Abouhawwash | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,37,9: | 0 |
