13State of charge and health estimation of batteries for electric vehicles applications:key issues and challenges显示文摘Using electric vehicles(EVs)for transportation is considered as a necessary component for managing sustainable development and environmental issues.The present concerns regarding the environment,such as rapid fossil fuel depletion,increases in air pollution,accelerating energy demands,global warming,and climate change,have paved the way for the electrification of the transport sector.EVs can address all of the aforementioned issues.Portable power supplies have become the lifeline of the EV world,especially lithium-ion(Li-ion)batteries.Li-ion batteries have attracted considerable attention in the EV industry,owing to their high energy density,power density,lifespan,nominal voltage,and cost.One major issue with such batteries concerns providing a quick and accurate estimation of a battery’s state and health;therefore,accurate determinations of the battery’S performance and health,as well as an accurate prediction of its life,are necessary to ensure reliability and efficiency.This study conducts a review of the technological briefs of EVs and their types,as well as the corresponding battery characteristics.Various aspects of recent research and developments in Li-ion battery prognostics and health monitoring are summarized,along with the techniques,algorithms,and models used for current/voltage estimations,state-of-charge(SoC)estimations,capacity estimations,and remaining-useful-life predictions.Samarendra Pratap Singh Praveen Prakash Singh Sri Niwas Singh Prabhakar Tiwari 2021Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,2:1

15Optical delivery of multiple opsin-encoding genes leads to targeted expression and white-light activation显示文摘In photodegenerative diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa(RP)and age-related macular degeneration(AMD),progressive loss of vision occurs as a result of degeneration of the periphery of the retina and the macula,respectively.Current optogenetic stimulation-based approaches to vision restoration offer the advantages of cellular specificity,high resolution,and minimal invasiveness over electrode arrays;however,the clinical translation of optogenetic activation suffers from the lack of a method for the delivery of opsins into spatially targeted regions of a retina that has degenerated.Non-targeted opsin delivery through viral or non-viral methods to non-photodegenerated retinal areas will perturb these already functioning retinal regions.Furthermore,viral methods are subject to limitations on the delivery of large plasmids,such as fusion constructs of multiple spectrally separated opsins(e.g.,channelrhodopsin-2(ChR2),chimeric opsin variants(C1V1),ReaChR),which can provide higher photo-excitability than can a single narrow-band opsin under ambient light conditions.Here,we report the ultrafast near-infrared laser-based spatially targeted transfection of single and multiple opsins and present a comparison with the opsin expression distribution achieved using another non-viral,but non-targeted,transfection method,lipofection.Functional evaluation of cells transfected with multiple opsins using the laser method revealed a significantly higher white-light-induced photocurrent than in cells expressing a single opsin(ChR2).The laser-assisted targeted delivery of multiple opsin-encoding genes to the peripheral retina/macula is ideal for sensitizing retinal areas that have degenerated,thus paving the way toward the restoration of lost vision in RP/AMD patients.Kamal Dhakal Subrata Batabyal Weldon Wright Young-tae Kim Samarendra Mohanty 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:0

18Rift-associated ultramafic lamprophyre(damtjernite) from the middle part of the Lower Cretaceous(125 Ma) succession of Kutch,northwestern India: Tectonomagmatic implications显示文摘Mineralogical,geochemical and isotopic(Sr and Nd) studies on the recently reported ca. 124 Ma'anorogenic lamproite' dyke from the Palanpur area, Kutch seismogenic rift zone, northwestern India, are presented. We propose a new classification for the dyke as a damtjernite(ultramafic lamprophyre; UML)based on its porphyritic-panidiomorphic texture, abundance of phlogopite, presence of nepheline in the groundmass, and the composition of liquidus phases such as olivine, phlogopite, magnetite, and clinopyroxene(diopside). The Palanpur UML is primitive(Mg# =74-77),silica-undersaturated(SiO_2<40 wt.%),potassic to slightly sodic in nature, and is strikingly similar to the ~69 Ma UML dykes and sills of the Tethyan Indus suture zone, which are considered as the earliest yet known manifestations of the Deccan Large Igneous Province(LIP). Bulk-rock(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_i(0.70460-0.70461) and ε_(N)d(t)(+2.56 to-0.69) of the Palanpur UML signify derivation from a slightly depleted mantle source similar to that of asthenospheric magmas such as OIB. This is further attested to by the high incompatible trace element ratios(viz., La/Ba, Nb/U, Nb/La and Ta/Yb) that are typical of plume-type magmas. However, the Neoproterozoic T_(DM) depleted mantle Nd model ages( ~655-919 Ma) also necessitate some involvement of a lithospheric mantle component in its genesis. High bulk-rock Fe_2 O_3~t and TiO_2 contents require the involvement of a fertile peridotitic mantle source, whereas high La/Yb(60-80) implies a control by residual garnet. Higher Rb/Sr and lower Ba/Rb suggest phlogopite as a residual phase and high Nb and lower La/Sm favour carbonatite, rather than silicate melt as metasomatising agent. Low degrees of partial melting of a primitive garnet lherzolite mantle can account for the observed REE patterns in the Palanpur UML. The Palanpur UML shares a temporal similarity to the Kerguelen plume-derived Rajmahal basalts and associated alkaline rocks from the eastern India.
