| 1 | Changes in mean and extreme climates over China with a 2℃ global warming显示文摘Based on a 153-year (1948-2100) transient simulation of East Asian climate performed by a high resolution regional climate model (RegCM3) under the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) A1B scenario, the potential future changes in mean and extreme climates over China in association with a global warming of 2℃ with respect to pre-industrial times are assessed in this study. Results show that annual temperature rises over the whole of China, with a greater magnitude of around 0.6℃ compared to the global mean increase, at the time of a 2℃ global warming. Large-scale surface warming gets stronger towards the high latitudes and on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, while it is similar in magnitude but somewhat different in spatial pattern between seasons. Annual precipitation increases by 5.2%, and seasonal precipitation increases by 4.2%-8.5% with respect to the 1986-2005 climatology. At the large scale, apart from in boreal winter when precipitation increases in northern China but decreases in southern China, annual and seasonal precipitation increases in western and southeastern China but decreases over the rest of the country. Nationwide extreme warm (cold) temperature events increase (decrease). With respect to the 1986-2005 climatology, the country-averaged annual extreme precipitation events R5d, SDII, R95T, and R10 increase by 5.1 mm, 0.28 mm d -1 , 6.6%, and 0.4 d respectively, and CDD decreases by 0.5 d. | 2 | Recent advances in gel polymer electrolyte for high-performance lithium batteries显示文摘Lithium batteries (LBs) have become increasingly important energy storage systems in our daily life. However, their practical applications are still severely plagued by the safety issues from liquid electrolyte, especially when the batteries are exposed to mechanical, thermal, or electrical abuse conditions. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are being considered as an effective solution to replace currently available organic liquid electrolyte for building safer LBs. This review provides recent advancements in GPEs applied for high-performance LBs. On the one hand, from the environmental and economic point of view, the skeletons of GPEs changed from traditional polymer to renewable and degradable polymer. On the other hand, in addition to being as a component with good electrochemical and physical characterizations, the GPEs also need to provide some functions for addressing the concerns of lithium (Li) dendrites, unstable cathode electrolyte interface, dissolution and migration of transition metal ions,'shuttle effect' of polysulfides, and so on. | 5 | One-Step High-Temperature-Synthesized Single-Atom Platinum Catalyst for Efficient Selective Hydrogenation显示文摘Although single-atom catalysts significantly improve the atom utilization efficiency,the multistep preparation procedures are complicated and difficult to control.Herein,we demonstrate that one-step in situ synthesis of the single-atom Pt anchored in single-crystal MoC(Pt_(1)/MoC)by using facile and controllable arc-discharge strategy under extreme conditions.The high temperature(up to 4000℃)provides the sufficient energy for atom dispersion and overall stability by forming thermodynamically favourable metal-support interactions.The high-temperature-stabilized Pt1/MoC exhibits outstanding performance and excellent thermal stability as durable catalyst for selective quinoline hydrogenation.The initial turnover frequency of 3710 h^(-1)is greater than those of previously reported samples by an order of magnitude under 2 MPa H_(2)at 100℃.The catalyst also shows broad scope activity toward hydrogenation containing unsaturated groups of C=C,C=N,and C=O.The facile,one-step,and fast arc-discharge method provides an effective avenue for single-atom catalyst fabrication that is conventionally challenging. | Qingyuan Bi Xiaotao Yuan Yue Lu Dong Wang Jian Huang Rui Si Manling Sui Fuqiang Huang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 5 |
| 6 | Determination of the Observation Area for Metallographic Microstructure of GH4033 Superalloy in a Uniaxially Thermo-Mechanical Compression Experiment显示文摘Based on two-dimensional(2D) rigid-plastic finite element(FE) method, the optimum observation area for metallographic microstructure and the influence of the height–diameter ratio on which were analyzed for the cylindrical samples with the diameter of 8 mm and different heights from 8 to 16 mm in nonuniform compressive experiments. It is shown that the representative metallographic observation area relevant to the applied deformation condition is located at about 0.835 of the radius from the center of the sample to the solder joint between the sample and the thermocouples. At the same time, the microstructure in that area is more appropriate as the height of the sample is 12 mm. | 7 | Influence of multi-chemical-component aerosols on the microphysics of warm clouds in North China显示文摘An adiabatic bin-sized cloud parcel model is developed by incorporating the multi-chemical-component (MCC) aerosol effects into the UWyo single-chemical-component (SCC) parcel model. The effects of MCC aerosols on the warm cloud microphysics in North China are investigated with the model. The simulations are initialized using the data on chemical components and number size distribution of aerosols measured during the IPAC (Influence of Pollution on Aerosols and Cloud Microphysics in North China) campaign in spring 2006. It is found that the MCC aerosols in North China increase the cloud droplet number concentration (CDNC) and decrease the effective radius more efficiently than pure ammonium-sulfate aerosols. It is also shown that the MCC aerosols in North China can narrow the cloud droplet spectra (CDS) by increasing CDNC in small size and decreasing CDNC in large size. Our results indicate that aerosol chemical components and their size distributions can influence the microphysics of warm clouds, and thus affect atmospheric radiation and precipitation. | 9 | Simultaneous polyandry and heteropaternity in tiger(Panthera tigris altaica):Implications for conservation of genetic diversity in captive populations of felids显示文摘Male tigers(Panthera tigris altaica) in captivity copulate alternatively with an estrous female,suggesting a potential for heteropaternity as an effective reproductive strategy to maximize genetic diversity of offspring.We analyzed microsatellites to test and compare the genetic output of multiple male mating(simultaneous polyandry) and single male mating(monogamy) with a female in a captive population.Simultaneous polyandry resulted in heteropaternity in 66.7% observed litters.No significant differences between parental populations and between offspring populations were detected in the number of alleles(A),expected heterozygosity(H e),number of effective alleles(N e) per locus and standard individual heterozygosity(SH)(P>0.05 for all 4 indexes).Comparisons showed no significant reduction of A,H o,H e and SH from parental population to offspring population for the two mating modes(P>0.05) except for SH in polyandrous families(P=0.029).However,such reduction was equivalent to single mating families when the influence of relatedness was eliminated using effective SH(E SH)(P>0.05).These results highlight an alternative strategy for managing captive populations of tiger and other wild felids in which animals are combined at one location allowing for copulation by multiple males to encourage heteropaternity in favor of maintained genetic diversity among offspring. | LIU Dan MA Yue LI HuiYi XU YanChun ZHANG Yan DAHMER Thomas BAI SuYing WANG Jian | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,17: | 3 |
| 10 | Monsoon Change in East Asia in the 21st Century: Results of RegCM3显示文摘The authors investigate monsoon change in East Asia in the 21st century under the Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) A1B scenario using the results of a regional climate model, RegCM3, with a high horizontal resolution. First, the authors evaluate the model's performance compared with NCEP-NCAR reanalysis data, showing that the model can reliably reproduce the basic climatology of both winter and summer monsoons over East Asia. Next, it is found that the winter monsoon in East Asia would slightly weaken in the 21st century with spatial differences. Over northern East China, anomalous southerly winds would dominate in the mid-and late-21st century because the zonal land-sea thermal contrast is expected to become smaller, due to a stronger warming trend over land than over ocean. | 12 | Deep learning for non-parameterized MEMS structural design显示文摘The geometric designs of MEMS devices can profoundly impact their physical properties and eventual performances.However,it is challenging for researchers to rationally consider a large number of possible designs,as it would be very time-and resource-consuming to study all these cases using numerical simulation.In this paper,we report the use of deep learning techniques to accelerate the MEMS design cycle by quickly and accurately predicting the physical properties of numerous design candidates with vastly different geometric features.Design candidates are represented in a nonparameterized,topologically unconstrained form using pixelated black-and-white images.After sufficient training,a deep neural network can quickly calculate the physical properties of interest with good accuracy without using conventional numerical tools such as finite element analysis.As an example,we apply our deep learning approach in the prediction of the modal frequency and quality factor of disk-shaped microscale resonators.With reasonable training,our deep learning neural network becomes a high-speed,high-accuracy calculator:it can identify the flexural mode frequency and the quality factor 4.6×10^(3)times and 2.6×10^(4)times faster,respectively,than conventional numerical simulation packages,with good accuracies of 98.8±1.6%and 96.8±3.1%,respectively.When simultaneously predicting the frequency and the quality factor,up to~96.0%of the total computation time can be saved during the design process.The proposed technique can rapidly screen over thousands of design candidates and promotes experience-free and data-driven MEMS structural designs. | Ruiqi Guo Fanping Sui Wei Yue Zekai Wang Sedat Pala Kunying Li Renxiao Xu Liwei Lin | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,4: | 2 |
| 13 | Development of peanut varieties with high oil content by in vitro mutagenesis and screening显示文摘Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oil crop globally and high oil content is one of the major targets in peanut breeding programs. Previous studies indicated that the osmotic pressure (OP) of the leaves of peanut plants subjected to drought stress was negatively correlated with kernel oil content. Based on this knowledge, we established a practical and reliable method for creating new peanut varieties with high oil content using in vitro mutagenesis and directional OP-based selection. Using embryonic leaflets of peanut variety Huayu 20 as explants, pingyangmycin (PYM) as the mutagen, and hydroxyproline (HYP) as the OP regulator, we developed 15 HYP-tolerant regenerated plants. For each regenerated plant, we selected offspring with oil content>55% (relative to 49.5% for Huayu 20). We developed and released three new peanut varieties with high yield and high oil content from the offspring of the HYP-tolerant regenerated plants. The three new varieties were named as Yuhua 4, Yuhua 9 and Yuhua 14 and their oil contents were 57.7, 61.1 and 59.3%, respectively. | 15 | Tight sandstone reservoir sensitivity and damage mechanism analysis: A case study from Ordos Basin, China and implications for reservoir damage prevention显示文摘Analysis of reservoir sensitivity to velocity,water,salt,acid,alkali and stress is critical for reservoir protection.To study the tight sandstone reservoir sensitivity at different formation depths(effective stress)and formation water conditions(pH,salinity,and fluid velocity),a series of dynamic core flow tests under different pH,salinity,acid,and effective stress conditions were performed on samples from tight sandstone reservoirs of the Upper Triassic Yanchang 8(T_(3)y^(8))Member and conventional reservoirs of the Middle-Lower Jurassic Yan'an 9(J_(1-2)y^(9))Member in the Ordos Basin.The results indicate that,compared with the conventional reservoirs,the tight sandstone reservoirs are more sensitive to velocity and stress,less sensitive to water,alkali and salinity,and respond better to acid fracturing.In addition,the critical conditions(salinity,velocity,pH,and stress)for pumping drilling,completion,and fracturing fluids into tight sandstone reservoirs were investigated.A combination of scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometry(SEM-EDS),cathodoluminescence(CL),casting thin section(CTS)and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)images,high-pressure mercury injection capillary pressure(MICP)measurements as well as X-ray fluorescence spectral(XRF)analyses were employed to analyze the damage mechanisms of the conventional reservoirs(J_(1-2)y^(9))and tight sandstone reservoirs(T_(3)y^(8))caused by fluid invasion.The results suggest that reservoir sensitivity is primarily conditioned by the composition of detrital components and interstitial fillings,petrophysical properties,pore-throat structure,and diagenetic facies.All these factors control the sensitivity types and extent of the reser-voirs.Our results indicate that the poorer the reservoir physical properties,the stronger the reservoir heterogeneity and sensitivity,implying that tight sandstone reservoirs are more susceptible to changes in fluids than conventional reservoirs.This study offers insights into the reservoir damage types and helps to improve the design and implementation of protection measures for tight sandstone reservoir exploration. | Zhongquan Liu Bingbing Shi Tianchen Ge Fenggui Sui Yue Wang Pengfei Zhang Xiangchun Chang Ye Liu Yongrui Wang Zhaoyang Wang | 2022 | Energy Geoscience2022,3,4: | 1 |
