| 1 | Occurrence, sources and fate of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in the groundwater: A review显示文摘The presence of pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs)in the aquatic environment may pose potential threat to the ecosystem and human health,hence PPCPs have aroused much concern over the world.The contamination of PPCPs in the groundwater,the main source of drinking water supply in many countries and regions,has been extensively studied in the last decade.This paper reviews the occurrence of frequently detected PPCPs,including antibiotics,anti-inflammatories,lipid-regulators,carbamazepine,caffeine,and N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide in groundwater,with special concern to the progress made over the past three years.Possible emission sources for PPCPs in groundwater,such as wastewater and contaminated surface water,landfills,septic systems,livestock breeding and sewer leakage,are summarized.Besides,adsorption,migration and degradation,the dominant mechanisms in the subsurface transport and fate of PPCPs,are discussed,and the insights into the future study of PPCPs in the groundwater are provided. | Qian Sui Xuqi Cao Shuguang Lu Wentao Zhao Zhaofu Qiu Gang Yu | 2015 | Emerging Contaminants2015,1,1: | 20 |
| 2 | Recent advances in gel polymer electrolyte for high-performance lithium batteries显示文摘Lithium batteries (LBs) have become increasingly important energy storage systems in our daily life. However, their practical applications are still severely plagued by the safety issues from liquid electrolyte, especially when the batteries are exposed to mechanical, thermal, or electrical abuse conditions. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are being considered as an effective solution to replace currently available organic liquid electrolyte for building safer LBs. This review provides recent advancements in GPEs applied for high-performance LBs. On the one hand, from the environmental and economic point of view, the skeletons of GPEs changed from traditional polymer to renewable and degradable polymer. On the other hand, in addition to being as a component with good electrochemical and physical characterizations, the GPEs also need to provide some functions for addressing the concerns of lithium (Li) dendrites, unstable cathode electrolyte interface, dissolution and migration of transition metal ions,'shuttle effect' of polysulfides, and so on. | 3 | Rapid determination of pharmaceuticals from multiple therapeutic classes in wastewater by solid-phase extraction and ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘A new analytical method utilizing ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) has been developed to determine 16 pharmaceuticals from 8 therapeutic classes in wastewater: bezafibrate, clofibric acid, carbamazepine, caffeine, chloramphenicol, diclofenac, gemfibrozil, indomethacin, ketoprofen, mefenamic acid, metoprolol, nalidixic acid, N,N-diethyl-metatoluamide, propranolol, sulpiride and trimethoprim. Key parameters of MS/MS, UPLC and solid phase extraction (SPE) were optimized. In general, recovery of target pharmaceuticals was over 70% for the wastewater effluent samples and 50% for the influent samples. The effects of matrix suppression, loss during the pretreatment as well as instrument variability were successfully corrected by two internal standards, and acceptable relative recovery was obtained. Target compounds were quantitatively analyzed using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode, and the detection limits ranged from 0.3 to 20 ng/L. A detailed study, matrix effect in effluent wastewater was also present. | 4 | Rapid removal of bisphenol A on highly ordered mesoporous carbon显示文摘Bisphenol A (BPA) is of global concern due to its disruption of endocrine systems and ubiquity in the aquatic environment.It is important,therefore,that efforts are made to remove it from the aqueous phase.A novel adsorbent,mesoporous carbon CMK-3,prepared from hexagonal SBA-15 mesoporous silica was studied for BPA removal from aqueous phase,and compared with conventional powdered activated carbon (PAC).Characterization of CMK-3 by transmission electron microscopy (TEM),X-ray diffraction,and nitrogen adsorption indicated that prepared CMK-3 had an ordered mesoporous structure with a high specific surface area of 920 m 2 /g and a pore-size of about 4.9 nm.The adsorption of BPA on CMK-3 followed a pseudo second-order kinetic model.The kinetic constant was 0.00049 g/(mg·min),much higher than the adsorption of BPA on PAC.The adsorption isotherm fitted slightly better with the Freundlich model than the Langmuir model,and adsorption capacity decreased as temperature increased from 10 to 40°C.No significant influence of pH on adsorption was observed at pH 3 to 9;however,adsorption capacity decreased dramatically from pH 9 to 13. | Qian Sui Jun Huang Yousong Liu Xiaofeng Chang Guangbin Ji Shubo Deng Tao Xie Gang Yu | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2: | 8 |
