| 1 | Moderate sewage sludge biochar application on alkaline soil for corn growth:a field study显示文摘In view of the risks induced by the inhibitory effects of applying impracticably large amounts of sewage sludge biochar(SSB)to the alkaline soil,this field study investigated the influence of moderate biochar amendments(0,1500,4500,and 9000 kg/hm2)on corn growth,alkaline soil properties,and the uptake of potentially toxic elements(PTEs).The results showed that applying more SSB would decrease the ammonium nitrogen concentration and increase the available phosphorus and potassium concentrations,which inhibited corn plant growth because of high background nutrient levels of the alkaline soil.When the alkaline soil was amended with 1500 kg/hm2 SSB,the dry weight of 100 niblets increased from 32.11 g in the control to 35.07 g.There was no significant variation in the total concentration of PTEs in the soil.The concentrations of Mn,Ni,Cu,and Zn in niblets decreased from 5.54,0.83,2.26,and 27.15 mg/kg in the control to 4.47,0.62,1.30,and 23.45 mg/kg,respectively.Accordingly,the health risk from corn consumption was significantly reduced.Furthermore,the combination of SSB and fertilizer improved corn growth and reduced the risk of consumption of PTEs.Therefore,considering the increase in corn fruit yield and the decrease in consumption risk,applying 1500 kg/hm2 of biochar to alkaline soils is a realistically achievable rate,which can broaden the utilization of SSB for remediation of different types of soil. | Shengyu Xie Guangwei Yu Ruqing Jiang Jianli Ma Xiaofu Shang Gang Wang Yin Wang Yongan Yang Chunxing Li | 2021 | Biochar2021,3,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Monitoring water color anomaly of lakes based on an integrated method using Landsat-8 OLI images显示文摘Water color is a crucial optical indicator of water quality,polluted water bodies often show water color anomalies.To comprehensively understand the occurrence of water color anomalies in inland lakes,an integrated method was designed using the hue angle based on the Forel-Ule Index(FUI)model,and other remote sensing indices,including the Turbid Water Index(TWI),Floating Algae Index(FAI),and Cyanobacteria and Macrophytes Index(CMI).Based on all available Landsat-8 OLI images from 2013 to 2020,continuous monitoring was conducted in three different lakes in the middle of the Yangtze River,China.The results demonstrated that:(1)The proposed method can accurately identify algal blooms,high sediment loads,and eutrophication from the abnormal water color areas;(2)The calculated hue angles of sediment-dominated water were significantly higher than those of algal blooms and aquatic vegetation,providing a noticeable visual discoloration of water;(3)These water color anomalies exhibited significant correlations with the water quality and environmental conditions.This study serves as an example for accurate and spatially continuous assessment of water color anomaly and supports practical information to facilitate local water environment conservation. | Xiaoqin Yang Ruqing Tong Li Ma Jian Li Siqi Wang Liqiao Tian | 2022 | International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Porous polyurethane hydrogels incorporated with CMC for eliminating methylene blue from water显示文摘Here,a series of polyurethane porous hydrogels(PUF-s)loaded with different sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)were successfully prepared by one-step foaming method.The physio-chemical prop-erties and morphologies were characterized.The effects of CMC content,adsorbent dosage,temperature,pH value and other fac-tors on the adsorption of methylene blue(MB)dye in water by CMC-PUF-s were also investigated through static adsorption experi-ments.The results showed that CMC-PUF-10 had excellent adsorp-tion performance for MB solution with removal rate of 81.47%,and the maximum adsorption capacity was 27.5 mg/g.In addition,the study of adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms showed that the adsorption of MB by CMC-PUF was more consistent with Langmuir isotherm adsorption model and pseudo second-order kinetic model.The adsorption thermodynamics study suggested that the adsorption process of MB by CMC-PUF-10 was sponta-neous and exothermic at room temperature.The results of cyclic adsorption experiment demonstrated that the removal rate of MB reached above 70%after five cycles,indicating the foams with excellent recyclability.Finally,a low-cost,environmentally friendly and recyclable MB adsorbent was synthesized in this study.As polyurethane foam was synthesized by one-step foaming method,this adsorbent can be prepared on site in practical application and reduce the transportation cost. | Li Wang Qing Yang Yong Yang Kun Luo Ruqing Bai Peicong Zhang | 2023 | International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2023,14,1: | 0 |
