9Identification of earthquake induced structural damage based on synchroextracting transform显示文摘Several popular time-frequency techniques,including the Wigner-Ville distribution,smoothed pseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution,wavelet transform,synchrosqueezing transform,Hilbert-Huang transform,and Gabor-Wigner transform,are investigated to determine how well they can identify damage to structures.In this work,a synchroextracting transform(SET)based on the short-time Fourier transform is proposed for estimating post-earthquake structural damage.The performance of SET for artificially generated signals and actual earthquake signals is examined with existing methods.Amongst other tested techniques,SET improves frequency resolution to a great extent by lowering the influence of smearing along the time-frequency plane.Hence,interpretation and readability with the proposed method are improved,and small changes in the time-varying frequency characteristics of the damaged buildings are easily detected through the SET method.Roshan Kumar Gaurav Kumar Wei Zhao Arvind R Yadav Gang Yu Jayendra Kumar Evans Amponsah 2024Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2024,23,2:0
10Association of bilirubin and protein thiols in relation to copper and ceruloplasmin in hyperbilirubinemic patients显示文摘Objective:Bilirubin is a double edged sword in biological system,acting as a toxic molecule and cytoprotectant.Unconjugated bilirubin is proved to show antioxidant activity in vitro and in vivo.In the current work we tried to know the relationship between both conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin with copper and protein thiols in patients with hyperbilirubinemia.Methods:Study was conducted on 56 hyperbilirubinemic cases and 56 healthy controls.Serum copper,ceruloplasmin,protein thiols,total bilirubin,conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin,unconjugated bilirubin/albumin ratio,total protein,albumin,AST,ALT and ALP were estimated.Results:There was significant increase in serum copper,total bilirubin,conjugated and unconjugated bilirubin,unconjugated bilirubin/albumin ratio,AST,ALT,and ALP,and decrease in serum ceruloplasmin,protein thiols,total protein,and albumin in hyperbilirubinemic cases when compared to healthy controls.Conjugated bilirubin correlated positively with liver enzymes AST and ALP,and negatively with protein thiols,total protein and albumin.Unconjugated bilirubin correlated positively with ALT.Protein thiols correlated negatively with copper and positively with ceruloplasmin,and also correlated negatively with liver enzymes like AST,ALT and ALP,and positively with total protein and albumin.Conclusion:Combination of elevated levels of trace elements like copper and availability of reducing agent like bilirubin may prove deleterious by generating free radicals.Mungli Prakash Jeevan K Shetty Roshan D' Souza Suhasa Upadhya Vijay Kumar 2009海南医学院学报2009,15,1:0

12Psychiatric morbidities in respiratory disorders:a cross sectional report providing insight into consultation-liaison psychiatry services in India显示文摘Background:Respiratory disorders are among the leading disorders contributing to extensive morbidity and mortality worldwide.Disorder variants,like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases(COPD)in developed and developing countries,as well as infectious causes,like Tuberculosis(TB)in developing countries,contribute to significant disease burden.The literature points towards the coexistence of psychiatric disorders with respiratory disorders responsible for poorer outcomes.Despite the extensive burden of respiratory disorders and the presence of concurrent psychiatric disorders,studies focusing on their prevalence are limited in India.Methods:A cross-sectional psychiatric screening was carried out on sequential patients attending the tertiary respiratory unit over eight months.Those screened positive were interviewed in detail for psychiatric diagnosis and challenges in the management were discussed.Psychiatric diagnosis,pulmonary TB and medical comorbidity were assessed for correlation with demographic and clinical variables and analyzed by using the Chi-square test and logistic regression method using SPSS version 20.Results:Psychiatric morbidity was present in 100 out of 350 patients(28.57%).Tuberculosis was the most common diagnosis(46%)in subjects attending the respiratory clinic services while common mental disorders like depression,anxiety,and insomnia were the most common psychiatric concern(88%)in this study.Conclusion:Psychiatric disorders and medical morbidities are common in patients with respiratory disorders.Multiple factors determine the treatment adherence in both respiratory and psychiatric disorders.Screening for psychiatric disorders with the help of a consultation-liaison psychiatrist in respiratory units is recommended.Future studies should focus on developing dedicated psychiatry services to enhance overall outcomes in patients with respiratory disorders.Roshan Sutar Santosh Kumar Chaturvedi Akshata Jayachamarajapura Shivananjaiah 2023Psychosomatic Medicine Research2023,5,1:0
13Analysis of frequency shifting in seismic signals using Gabor-Wigner transform显示文摘A hybrid time-frequency method known as Gabor-Wigner transform(GWT) is introduced in this paper for examining the time-frequency patterns of earthquake damaged buildings. GWT is developed by combining the Gabor transform(GT) and Wigner-Ville distribution(WVD). GT and WVD have been used separately on synthetic and recorded earthquake data to identify frequency shifting due to earthquake damages, but GT is prone to windowing effect and WVD involves ambiguity function. Hence to obtain better clarity and to remove the cross terms(frequency interference), GT and WVD are judiciously combined and the resultant GWT used to identify frequency shifting. Synthetic seismic response of an instrumented building and real-time earthquake data recorded on the building were investigated using GWT. It is found that GWT offers good accuracy for even slow variations in frequency, good time-frequency resolution, and localized response. Presented results confirm the efficacy of GWT when compared with GT and WVD used separately. 15Visualization-based prediction of dendritic copper growth in electrochemical cells using convolutional long short-term memory显示文摘Electrodeposition in electrochemical cells is one of the leading causes of its performance deterioration. The prediction of electrodeposition growth demands a good understanding of the complex physics involved, which can lead to the fabrication of a probabilistic mathematical model. As an alternative, a convolutional Long shortterm memory architecture-based image analysis approach is presented herein. This technique can predict the electrodeposition growth of the electrolytes, without prior detailed knowledge of the system. The captured images of the electrodeposition from the experiments are used to train and test the model. A comparison between the expected output image and predicted image on a pixel level, percentage mean squared error, absolute percentage error, and pattern density of the electrodeposit are investigated to assess the model accuracy. The randomness of the electrodeposition growth is outlined by investigating the fractal dimension and the interfacial length of the electrodeposits. The trained model predictions show a significant promise between all the experimentally obtained relevant parameters with the predicted one. It is expected that this deep learning-based approach for predicting random electrodeposition growth will be of immense help for designing and optimizing the relevant experimental scheme in near future without performing multiple experiments.Roshan Kumar Trina Dhara Han Hu Monojit Chakraborty 2022Energy and AI2022,10,4:0
